Eleven years later

Sasuke

It's been eleven years since I've seen Naruto. I've missed him a lot during these past years. After I met him the first time I had gotten sick because of a hot dog I had eaten but that's not why I stayed away. I stayed away because I was afraid of hurting him.

After I recovered I would go up to the surface every day and look for him. He never saw me but I always saw him. His beautiful blonde hair shining in the sunlight. His beautiful azure eyes reflecting the color of the water.

I could stare into them all day and never get tired. Yes, I fell in love with him. I fell in love with him hard. I know what I'm doing might be considered creepy and stalkerish but I can't help but feel drawn to him.

I want to get to know him. I want to hold him in my arms and feel his heartbeat next to mine. I want to know all the things he likes and doesn't like. I want to get to know the kind of person he became after all these years but that can never happen.

Number one it's illegal for mermen and mermaids to be in a relationship with anyone from the topside. Number two I'm engaged. I couldn't be with him even if I wanted to. All I can do is love him from afar and dream of the life we could've had.

"Your highness, lady Sakura is here to see you". One of the servants said as I sat on my throne. I let out a frustrated sigh as I rubbed my temples feeling a headache coming along just by the mention of her name.

Sakura wasn't royalty, she was a regular citizen but on top of that, she was a complete and utter bitch. All she thinks about is herself and how much money I spend on her. She cares more about my crown than she does me. What's worse is my parents have no knowledge of this at all.

"Do I have to"? "I'm afraid so my prince. She came all the way here just to see you after all". "Fine, send her in". She bowed to me then left to get her. I let out another sigh as she squealed and swam over giving me a big hug. She had medium-length pink hair, emerald green eyes, and a matching tail. I didn't hug her back.

"Thank you, Alex, that'll be all". She bowed and left. "Ahh I'm so happy to see you Sasuke. What fun things are we going to do today"? "I was hoping to just stay home and relax today". She pulled away and gave me an annoyed look.

"That's no fun at all. You can't stay cooped up in your room all day. You have to get out and socialize with your people". "I have a fine social life thank you very much". I said looking at her annoyed. "Come on Sasuke Kun, please"!!!!

"Fine". I said holding my head. "Thank you, thank you, thank you". She said hugging my neck again. I pulled her away from me. "Alex". I called and she came back bowing. "Please let my parents know I'll be going out for a while". "Certainly my prince".

After leaving the palace I allowed Sakura to go wherever she wanted and followed behind her. I could think of a million other things I'd rather be doing but sucked it up for the sake of my parents. They don't ask much from me, this is the least I could do. No matter how bad it may hurt.

No one knows of my feelings for Naruto. No one except my twin sister Mashi that is. The two of us tell each other everything. "Aahh! Look Sasuke, necklaces! Can we please go shopping"? She asked holding both my hands with an excited look in her eyes. I looked over at the jewelry shop and saw that it was one of the more expensive ones.

Of course she'd find any chance to spend my parents money.

"If we must". I said unenthusiastically. She took me by the hand and dragged me along with her. I sighed mentally as I stood against the wall watching her shop. She looked at all different kinds of necklaces and earrings but I was uninterested in all of it.

I let out a yawn and stared at the clock on the wall when something in the corner of my eye shined catching my eye. I turned my head and saw a ring display case. I made my way over and took a closer look.

The rings were made for males and were very expensive. They all had real diamonds and gemstones decorating them as they sat in silver and gold settings. The ring that had caught my eye was a round ring with blue sapphires going around it.

This ring was different from all of the others though. It wasn't in a silver or gold setting but a black one. It was absolutely beautiful and the sapphires immediately reminded me of his eyes.

I miss you so much

"Does anything here interest you prince Sasuke"? One of the salesworkers asked making her way over to me. I looked up at her and saw that she had blonde hair, brown eyes and a light blue tail.

"Yes, I'm interested in that black ring with the blue sapphires". "Of course sir". She took it out of the display case and handed it to me. I played with it between my fingers and brought it up to the light.

This would look perfect on his finger

"How much". "One hundred thousand". "I'll take it". "Excellent choice your highness".

I unfortunately had the pleasure of spending all day with Sakura. I wasn't able to get rid of her until nightfall. She spent the whole day dragging me to different stores and going on and on about our up coming wedding.

I hated it. I hated every minute of it. I was so glad when one of the guards escorted her home for me. When dinner with my family was over I headed to my room and grabbed the ring I had bought earlier today.

I had asked one of the guards to bring it back to the palace for me so Sakura wouldn't see it. I told my parents I was heading out for a while and went above water. I swam over to the shore, sat on the sand while keeping my tail hidden in the water and started singing.

I sang a sad melody about the heartache I was currently going through while twiddling the ring between my fingers as the moonlight shined down on me.

"Is it really you"?
