A Gift For Him
Hinata
The room was quiet as I watched my hands move carefully with the needle and red thread that was in my hands. No one knew this but for months I have been working on a gift for Sasuke. If everything went the way I wanted it to it would be something that reminded him of our childhood and that there's still goodness in the world.
I just need to figure out how to get it to him when it's finished
Flashback to fourteen years ago
The village was covered in snow. It was still daytime but the sun wasn't visible to anyone, I didn't mind any of that, however. I loved when it snowed in Konaha. I could dress up in a nice coat, scarf, boots, and mittens and be able to play for as long as I wanted until the sun went down. Winter was the only time I was able to have a break from training and actually able to be a kid and I planned on taking full advantage of it.
After saying bye to my father and Neji I headed straight into the forest to explore and play. The trees were beautiful being covered in snow with a thick layer of it on the ground. Each step I took made a crunching sound as I continued my way to my destination. Once there I smiled as I looked at all the bunnies running around playing together.
Their white coats blended in beautifully with the snow making it easy for them to hide but I could see them. Before she died I would come out here all the time with my mother. She's the one that taught me how to find them and we even made a game out of it. The more bunnies I found the more flowers we would be able to plant together when winter was over.
It wasn't easy though. I had to lay still on the ground so I wouldn't scare them away and watch for any movement that was made no matter how small. That's exactly what I was doing now but instead of the ground, I was sitting in a tree so I could have a better view of them. I smiled to myself as I watched them play with their friends and jump around in the snow happily but that smile didn't last long.
I felt anger grow inside of me as a group of boys ran to the bunnies and started scaring them. "Hey"! I jumped down from my branch and immediately ran over to try and protect them. "Leave them alone, they haven't done anything to you". I said looking at them sternly. "Go away Hyuga, this has nothing to do with you". One of the boys said before pushing me a little. I didn't care about that, all I cared about was protecting the bunnies who couldn't defend themselves.
When they saw I wasn't going to budge he pushed me harder but I got right back up. "We're not in the village, you can't tell us what to do". "I've never told anyone what to do in my life, I just don't want you hurting animals that did nothing to you. All they want to do is play. Stop being jerks and leave them alone"!
"You have no right to call any of us names, this has nothing to do with you princess". He was about to hit me again but was shoved to the ground instead. I hadn't noticed him at all but all of a sudden Sasuke Uchiha was standing in front of me and glaring at both of the boys. He was dressed in a dark blue jacket with blue pants and black boots but had a red scarf around his neck. "Didn't your moms teach you not to put your hands on girls"?
"This has nothing to do with you Uchiha, mind your own business". "Of course, he would come, everyone knows the Hyuga and Uchiha are allies". "Our clans have nothing to do with this. My problem is with the two of you putting your hands on my friend". The boy that was still standing charged towards Sasuke but Sasuke was able to grab him by the arm, twist it, and knee him in the stomach before letting him go. "I won't tell the two of you again to leave". Without saying a word they both hurried to their feet and ran off.
"Are you ok Hinata"? He asked turning to face me. "Yes, thank you for that. I uh like your scarf". "Thanks, my mom got it for me".
End of flashback
If only people could get to know you as that Sasuke. The Sasuke who helps his friends and who looks out for others. I lf only they could forget about your past and move on
I thought to myself but soon realized the last red thread had been sewn into the scarf.
Let me get my coat
I made my way over to the craft store as fast as I possibly could hoping to be able to get in and out. It's not that I didn't want to see any of my friends, I just didn't want them to find out what I was doing and think it was for Naruto.
The last thing I need is for Sasuke to think that I still have feelings for him
Thankfully very few people were in there. I took comfort in knowing that this was a ninja village and the only people who tended to come here were stay-at-home mothers or elderly women. I made my way over to the yarn section swiftly and grabbed me three large red balls and placed them neatly into my basket. After making my way to the cashier and paying for my items I made my way out but was stopped by Sakura.
Of all people why did it have to be her?
I tried to pretend I didn't notice her and walked home quit]ckly but couldn't. "Hey Hinata"! I turned around and smiled at her. "Hello Sakura". "Hm, you're knitting something? That's a surprise". She said after taking notice to the brown paper bag that was securely in my arms.
Yes because kunoichi like us aren't supposed to know how to sew
"Yes, im making a scarf". She eyed me with an amused smile on her face. "Hm". She looked me up and down but I backed away feeling uncomfortable. "What are you doing"? "Go for it Hinata". She said now with her hands on my shoulders. "Huh"? "Oh just admit it, you're making a present for him aren't you"? I looked down unsure of what to say.
Which him. I was about to say but quickly realized she was referring to Naruto. Everyone thinks it's Naruto.
