Sasuke

"Welcome back Sasuke". Sensei said as I made my way to Naruto's office early in the morning. He had three of his four kids with him. Two of which were sleeping on his shoulders. "Thank you sensei". "Uncle Sasuke"! Kiro his oldest ran up jumping into my arms. I smiled holding him. "Hi, Kiro, where's sissy"? "With daddy".

"I take it your on your way yo see Naruto"? I nodded. "I am. I was supposed to give him my mission report yesterday but he wasn't in his office when I made it back". "I see, unfortunately, he leaves the office a lot on business. He claims it's beneficial to the village but no one knows what it is".

"I see, I'll try to see if I can't find out anything". "If anyone you'd be the most likely person he'd tell". I put Kiro down and nodded. "I'll see you around sensei".

Once at the Hokage building, I made my way up the stairs and down the hall to his office. I was one of the few people that didn't need to knock but it didn't matter since he wasn't there.

Typical

"Welcome back Sasuke, are you just returning"? He asked smiling as he walked in and took his seat behind his desk. "No actually, I got in last night but you weren't in your office". I placed the scroll on his desk. "Sorry about that I went home to Hinata early last night".

Liar

"I see. Is there anything new in the village I should know about? I just finished talking with sensei and he says you're working on something that's beneficial to the company but you aren't telling anyone what it is". "That's because it's a secret. For now, only the Hokage needs to know about it". "What about the Shadowkage"? "Sorry, but you'll have to wait like the others". "I see".

I have no idea what it is Hinata sees in him. It's obvious he's not the same Naruto we grew up with. Ever since he became Hokage it feels as if he believes there are no consequences to his actions. All he cares about now is his title and banging Sakura on the side.

He can have her for all I care. After all the times she bad-mouthed him, put him down, and assaulted him I can't understand why he would still feel the need to be close to her.

She's not a good person, not that pretty, and definitely not strong......Not like Hinata.

"Oh hey Sasuke, your back". I looked up and noticed Ino walking over to me.

At least one of the Uzumaki twins is sane.

"Ino". "Are you going on another's mission or staying"? "I think I'm going to stay for a while". "Really? Won't it be hard seeing her"? I smiled a little. "As long as she's happy. Do I wish she was still with me yes but we just weren't meant to be I guess".

"Have you seen Mashi yet? You always feel better when you talk to her". "No, but I think I'll visit her soon. The only ones I've seen so far are my parents and sensei". "I see, I truly do wish the best for you Sasuke". "Thank you Ino".

Madara

Hashirama was sitting beside me as we both sat across from Hiashi Hyuga. Last night he had called stating he wanted an emergency meeting with us and I couldn't help but wonder what this was about. The Uchiha and Hyuga are two of the biggest clans in the village with both possessing strong kekkei genkai.

It's only natural we'd have meetings every now and then but I still can't help but feel as though this was sudden. "Madara, Hashirama thank you both for agreeing to see me so soon". "Of course Hiashi, what is this about"? "I know this will feel as though it's coming out of nowhere but I've been thinking about this for a while and I believe it will be beneficial to both our clans if we become one".

Hashi and I both looked at each other. "Think about it, Sasuke and Naruto are best friends, Naruto is Hokage now and is married to Hinata. This will only make us stronger". "Let me get this straight, you want to combine clans because our son is friends with your son-in-law"? Hashi asked.

"Sasuke and Naruto's bond is strong, with the three of them working together our clans will only get stronger. This will benefit all of us can't you see"? "And what if our son's friendship breaks for some unknown reason in the future"? I asked.

"Sasuke and Naruto are grown-ups now, I'm sure whatever differences they have they will be able to work through them just fine. Not only that if they do argue I'm sure Hinata will be able to keep the peace between them".

I was about to say something but was interrupted by Sasuke coming in through the front door. "Sasuke". Hashi said shocked. "I thought you would be home". "I was on my way to see Mashi but she texted me saying she forgot something the last time she was here. What's going on"?

"I was just telling your parents about how much it would benefit our clans to join forces through your and Naruto's friendship. Your parents are unsure but I would like to know how you feel about it". He looked over at us. "It's fine, make the deal".

"Sasuke are you sure about this"? Hashi asked after Hiashi left and it was just the three of us. "I am papa". "Aren't you still in love with Hinata though"? "I am, I will always love her . Will it hurt being close to her again yes, absolutely but I can handle it. I just want to do what's best for the two of you and our clan".

"Not at the cost of your happiness". I said. "It's ok dad, really it is".
