Chapter 1

Tony woke up even more exhausted than he was before he slept. Recently, he hasn't been sleeping well at all. Ever since Pepper left him, nothing's been the same. He's been depressed and lonely. He decided to distract himself today. So he got up, changed, and went to work. He went to the lab in Avengers Tower. He was greeted by Vision, who he can't bother to say his name because he still refers to him as Jarvis.

"Hello Tony, you're up earlier than usual." Vision said as he looked at Tony. Tony looked at Vision with a sad face, realizing he wasn't technically his partner in crime anymore. "I'm fine today Jar.....Vision." Tony said while touching his forehead. He looked back at Vision and continued talking. "So...uh, have you seen Hill anywhere around here?"

As Tony said that Hill came to them. "You were asking for me?" Hill said while holding a tablet in her hand. "Yes uh, I was wondering if...you had anything for me to do today." Tony explained with a sigh. Hill looked at her tablet and then looked at him. She looked up at Vision and he walked away. She pulled Tony into another room where they could talk.

"I do have something for you to do. But for now this must stay between us." Hill explained. "I thought we went over the whole me keeping secrets from the team thing. I'm clearly not good at it." Tony said. He sighed and sat down on a chair in the room. Hill touched her tablet and showed it to Tony. "Do you know what this is?" She asked him. He looked up and her and then looked at the tablet. "Nope but I'm guessing you're about to tell me."

Hill sighed and looked at the tablet. "This is Storybrooke, Maine. As you can see here, there's a reading of powers or magic on the map." Tony looked at her. "So, what does this have to do with me? Cause if it's nothing then I'll just get going to get a sandwich." He stood up and began to walk out. "Sit down Tony." Hill demanded. Tony sat back down and looked up at Hill. "I need you to examine the town, figure out if it has any enhanced people. We don't know how many people survived Hydra's experiments. And we certainly don't know where they have gone."

Tony scratched his neck and grabbed the tablet. "So why exactly am I going again?" He asked. "You're smart. Pretty arrogant and self obsessed, but smart. As soon as everything is clear you can come back." Hill explained to him. "When do I need to go?" Tony asked. He stood up and patted his knees. "You'll need to get ready to go as soon as possible. Get your things packed and ready. You also will be going alone for this. So bring an Iron Man suit just in case."

Tony listened and went to his room in the tower. He brought a bag out and began to pack it with things. He looked over and saw a picture of Pepper and him. He went over to the table it was on. He put the picture face down and grabbed some socks from the drawers under the table. He finished packing his bag and zipped it up. He decided to bring a portable suit with him, just in case. He was ready to go, so he left his room. He looked back at it, then turned around and left.

Storybrooke

Regina sat silently in Granny's Diner, on her seat, without saying a word. She refused to speak to anyone. She refused to make contact with a single person, including her son, Henry. Everyone tried, but she could only think of the dreadful event that happened months ago, which seemed like barely anything in her mind.

Her short, black hair stayed in front of her face, not planning on moving anywhere any time soon. She longed for her love to return, but it was obvious that wasn't going to happen. Tears fell from her eyes one by one, slowly streaming out. She put her head down onto the table and thought about him.

A few months earlier

Regina excitedly returned home from work and entered her home to see him. Every day she hoped for the hours to move faster so she could see him. As she unlocked her house door, she was usually immediately greeted by him, and snuck a quick kiss with him before Roland saw. Roland hated seeing his father and his mother do this, as he thought it was a bit weird seeing it. But today, however, was different.

"Robin?" She called, as soon as she realised he wasn't coming to the door. "Are you home?"
She walked further into her home and checked every room to find him. He was nowhere to be seen.

"Robin?.." She called once again. Regina was now in her room, and called him on his phone, when he suddenly walked through the door. "Oh my gosh, there you are! I've been worried sick about you."

"Regina, I was only gone for a bit to get some things for dinner," Robin explained. "Besides, you're early."

"Well I just could wait to be home with you, I mean, what with Roland still at school..." She hinted at things, and he definitely understood her, as he went to close the door.
"Oh yes. I agree. How nice that would be for us, especially with our privacy."

He approached her, and gently kissed her on one of her rosy cheeks. "I love you, Regina." He whispered, as this time he moved towards her red lips, when he suddenly stopped and realised something. "Regina?.." He gasps, as he falls to the ground, a blade driven into his chest, right where his heart is.
"Surprise," She says, as she suddenly transforms back into her true self.
"Zelena? Why?.." He asks, his voice cracking as he utters the words. She bends down to crouch next to him, leans over him and speaks.
"Because, my sister will never be happy. She doesn't deserve to be happy. And she doesn't deserve you. If you won't love me, Robin, I see no reason for you to be here. So, goodbye, Robin Hood. Enjoy your eternal sleep." She slowly gets up, leaving Robin lying on the floor and blood pouring out of his chest. His hand, slowly and shakily moves towards the blade, as his hand grabs onto it. He tries to slowly pull it out, but the excruciating pain makes him stop. He decides that dying slowly is better, as he may get to see his love for one last time.

The clock had soon reached 3 o'clock, only around 2 hours later. Regina went to pick up Roland from school, as they had agreed earlier in the morning. He excitedly ran out to his mother and wrapped his arms around her, his cute smile beaming across his face, with his dimples brightening up Regina's day. As if looking forward to seeing Robin wasn't enough, but now this.
Regina Mills was probably the happiest woman in Storybrooke right now.
That was, until she had returned home.

As she entered her home, Roland ran inside and instantly went to sit on the couch and watch his cartoons. Regina could not help but smile at this. Then she realised something. Usually when she picked up Roland, Robin came to greet her seconds later. She had waited only a minute before confirming her instincts of something being wrong. She knew Robin, and she knew him well. She began to search the house for him, just as Zelena had done earlier that day.

Then she saw him. He lay on the floor, cold as stone. He didn't make a movement, nor a sound. Regina immediately began to panic. She fell to her knees next to him and stroked his face gently. She couldn't believe this. Who could have had the motive to do such a thing? She definitely knew the answer, but her emotions were too strong for her to think at that moment. Her fingers ran over his eyes, closing them gently, as she kissed his temple. She slowly drew out the blade, which was covered in his blood. She didn't want to look, but she couldn't urge herself not to. The one she loved, the man with the lion tattoo- was gone.
'If only,' She thought. 'If only I hadn't been too scared to go up to him all those years ago- this may never had happened.'
Her strong feelings clouded her mind with thoughts like these, she could only think of it all being her fault. She should have listened to that fairy. But she didn't.
Regina Mills felt like the worst person in the world.
She had lost everything- her love, her hope and her happiness.
Death, had now done them part. Something she had hoped would never happen for many, many years later.
This, for Regina, was the inevitable.
She proceeded to lay her head on his chest. She couldn't hear his heartbeat, his breath, or feel a pulse. She was too late, and began hating herself once again. If she had been even slightly earlier, she may have been able to see him and talk to him one last time.

Roland went upstairs to look for his parents, wondering where they had gotten to. But he only saw Regina curled up in tears over his father.
"Gina?" He asked in his small voice. She immediately sat up by the sound of his voice.
"Hey, Roland." Her voice was cracked, and she was finding it hard to speak. Roland, although a young boy, understood how she was feeling. He saw his father lying there, and he sat down. Regina pulled him into a hug, holding him tightly and protectively, wiping his small tears as they fell, as she did to her own. She kissed his small head, and ran her fingers over Robin's face once more.

Present day

Regina soon sat up, feeling as if she had relived the whole tragic incident. Many hours had passed since she could last remember what had happened. She did often get this flashback, but she could never help it. As much as she tried, she just couldn't think of anything happy. All of her happiness was gone. Granny's diner was now deserted, much like how she felt about her life. Granny was just in the kitchen, clearing up before she closed up, so Regina decided to leave cash for the coffee she never drank on the counter and left.
