From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the conference room, Oliver stood in front of the board.

Oliver: (voice over) "My name is Oliver Queen."

From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the cemetery, Jill was sitting at Tommy's grave in guilt.

Jill: (voice over) "I'm Jill Wright."

From 1.06 "Legacies", in flashback to the cave on Lian Yu, Oliver was aiding Jill after they saved her from the soldiers.

Oliver lifted the back of her shirt to reveal carved tally marks in her back that were bleeding and scarred. They were all over her back, the tally marks small to include all of the number of the days. There were a few in her shoulders, as the skin of her back couldn't hold it all.

Jill: (voice over) "After five years on a hellish island..."

From 1.23 "Sacrifice", in flashback to the soldier camp, Jill jumped down from the missile launcher, taking cover.

The missile hit the ground at the soldier camp, setting it ablaze.

Jill sat back tiredly on the ground, watching the flames.

From 1.06 "Legacies", in the hideout, Oliver and Jill were training at the hideout with two metal short staffs. Oliver and shirtless. Jill was in workout clothes, including a sports bra. Oliver swung both of his up over their heads, trying to come down on her. Jill raised both of hers in an X shape to block both of his.

Jill: (voice over) "We have come to Starling City with only one goal."

From 1.08 "Vendetta", in the hideout, Jill was getting suited up.

Oliver was watching from nearby, getting suited up.

John and Justin walked closer.

Jill: (voice over) "To save the city."

From 1.21 "The Undertaking", in the casino, Oliver/Arrow fired an arrow into a man's shoulder, making him fall.

Oliver: (voice over) "But to do so..."

From 1.16 "Dead to Rights", on the helipad, Oliver/Arrow and Guillermo Barrera were fighting. Oliver stabbed him with an arrow, killing him.

Oliver: (voice over) "I can't be the killer I once was."

From 1.19 "Unfinished Business", in the lab at the asylum, Oliver/Arrow stabbed the orderly in the chest with an arrow, killing him.

From 1.23 "Sacrifice", in Merlyn Global Group, Tommy and Oliver/Arrow helped Jill/Sapphire inside to get them to the ground outside.

The building was falling apart around them.

Tommy saw rubble falling toward them, pushing them out of the way.

The debris fell onto Tommy, making him fall, pinning him down.

Jill started to pull the debris away.

A pipe had been stabbed into Tommy's chest.

Oliver and Jill were horrified.

Oliver: (voice over) "To honor my friend's memory, I must be someone else."

From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the cemetery, Oliver and Jill stood at Tommy's grave.

From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the foundry, Oliver and Jill walked in to join John, Justin and Felicity.

Jill: (voice over) "I must be..."

Jill looked at the knife in her hand. She morphed into Sapphire.

Jill: (voice over) "Something else."

Oliver looked at the arrow in his hand. He morphed into Arrow.

➣ ➣

From 1.01 "Pilot", there was a raging storm over the ocean.

Jessica: (voice over) "Previously on Sapphire Arrow."

From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the Glades, there were flashes of "Ruby" fighting the men that had tried to corner Skylar.

Skylar watched in shock.

Ruby looked at Skylar for a moment, running toward the bridge, standing on the ledge.

"Where the hell did you come from?" Skylar asked. Ruby turned back. "Who are you?"

"Call me Ruby," Ruby told her, turning around, running off, disappearing into the night.

Skylar was in shock.

From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the gala location, Laurel, Jessica and Lance were talking.

Lt. Frank Pike walked closer, looking at Jessica. "What do you think you're doing? Interviewing the witness is the job of the Detective, Officer Lance."

Jessica looked at him incredulously. "This is my sister. She was nearly killed tonight."

"As a sister, you're welcome to stay," Pike told her. "But as a beat cop, you're more than free to go."

Laurel looked at him incredulously.

From 2.02 "Identity", in the alley outside Verdant, Roy and Jill/Sapphire were talking.

"Let me help you," Roy told her.

Jill disguised her voice. "Okay. You can help. To do what we do, we need intel. You can be eyes and ears in the Glades. That's how you can save the city."

"How do I contact you?" Roy asked.

Jill tossed her knife to the his feet. "Leave that in the alley wall. Then I'll know to contact you."

From 2.02 "Identity", in another alley, Jill/Sapphire and Oliver/Arrow were standing together. They heard something around them, turning around.

Three entire SWAT teams and police walked closer, aiming their guns at Oliver and Jill, including Lance.

Laurel walked closer.

Oliver aimed his bow and arrow around them.

Jill looked around.

They both disguised their voices.

"The copycats are still alive," Jill told them.

"Tommy Merlyn isn't," Laurel told them.

"We both lost a friend that day, too," Jill told them. "And we would gladly have given our lives for his."

"Well, don't worry," Lance told them. "Your lives are over. Your lives as free people."

Jill and Oliver looked around with their weapons raised, looking over their heads to find somewhere to shoot a crossbow or regular bow claw into, but there wasn't anywhere. They were trapped.

  ➣ ➣

Jill / Sapphire:

Amy / Ruby:

Same Night - Same Scene

Night - Alley

Jill/Sapphire and Oliver/Arrow were still surrounded with their weapons raised.

"Put your weapons down," Laurel told them.

Jill disguised her voice. "We are not your enemies."

"Then put your weapons down," Lance told them.

Jill and Oliver hesitated, slowly lowering their weapons.

They heard running footsteps up from above, looking at the buildings on either side of them.

Amy, the woman in red, so-called Ruby, jumped down from the fire escape next to them, landing in front of Jill, holding her Sai knives out to either side of her.

Everything froze when they heard a high-pitched screeching from nearby. Everyone held their heads in pain, dropping their weapons.

The glass shattered around them.

Jill looked at 'Ruby' in confusion.

Three cops came closer to shoot. Amy slashed a Sai knife into Cop 1's hands, making him drop his gun, kicking him in the chest, making him fall, spinning to kick Cop 2 in the face, making him fall, punching Cop 3 in the face, kicking Cop 1 in the chest.

The woman in black called the Canary with the sonic device helped Oliver stand; later revealed to be Sara Lance.

Cop 4 tried to shoot Sara. Sara kicked his gun out of the way, hitting him in the face with a staff, making him fall, sinning to kick Cop 5 in the chest, making him fall.

Amy and Sara led Jill and Oliver out of the alley.

The police picked up their weapons, firing.

  ➣

Another Alley

Jill/Sapphire, Amy/Ruby, Oliver/Arrow and Sara/Canary got to the alley.

Jill stopped. "Nice masks. Why'd you help us?"

Sara ran away, leaving.

Police ran out of the building toward them.

Amy looked over her shoulder toward Jill and Oliver, jumping over a car, running away, leaving.

Jill and Oliver had to run away before they were shot down or taken.

Verdant - Foundry

Jill and Oliver walked into the foundry, no longer wearing the hood or mask.

Felicity looked at them in relief. "Oh, thank God."

"Police scanner's been blowing up for the past hour," John told them. "Laurel called in half the force with a silent alarm."

"Yeah, because going after actual bad guys is so last year," Felicity told them sarcastically.

"To her, we are the bad guys," Oliver told them.

"Since when?" Justin asked.

"Since we couldn't save Tommy," Oliver answered.

"How did you get out of there?" Justin asked.

"We had help from two masked women," Jill answered. "One was blonde. She was wearing black. The other had dark hair. She wore red. She had Sai knives."

"Copycat vigilantes?" John asked.

Jill put her swords on their shelves. "No. They were different. Trained. And the blonde, she used a sonic... thing."

"Wait, sonic thing?" Felicity asked. "Could you be a bit more specific?"

"She turned it on and the glass shattered," Oliver told them.

"Okay, well, who were they and why would they help you?" John asked.

"And how did they know to help you?" Justin added.

"All good questions," Jill told them.

"I don't like the idea of two players in town," Oliver told them.

"I'll see what I can find," Felicity told them, walking toward the computers.

Justin nodded. "Thank you."

Oliver and Jill looked at each other, walking away to get dressed in normal clothes.

  ➣

Flashback

Day - Lian Yu - Fuselage

Slade, Shado, Jill and Oliver had brought a skeleton back to their plane hideout.

"Wonderful," Slade told them sarcastically. "Now we have a dead Japanese soldier in our home."

Shado picked up the head. "Those men on the island were looking for these corpses. Aren't you the least bit interested in why?"

"I'm more interested in how many more there are of them and where they're operating from," Slade told them. "They'll be coming for that, which means they'll be coming for us. And as we've already seen, they're not the friendliest bunch."

Oliver put down the hozen he had found in the cave.

Jill looked at Shado. "So, it kind of looks like you've done that before."

"Back in Xingjian, I was premed," Shado explained.

"She's a woman of many talents," Slade told them. He tossed a bag to Oliver. "Come on."

"Come on where?" Oliver asked.

Slade nodded toward the door.

  ➣

Outside

Slade and Oliver walked outside.

"To higher ground," Slade answered. "We need to get to a vantage point where we can establish the enemy's position. They'll be fine here."

"We shouldn't split up," Oliver told him.

"Let the girls play with the corpse," Slade told him. "We'll be back before they know it."

Oliver looked inside, watching Jill pick up a skeletal hand. He and Slade walked away.

Now

Day Two

Morning - Street

Jessica was in her police uniform, getting a hotdog from a vendor, holding money toward the elderly man running the vendor. "Here you go."

"On the house, Officer Lance," the elderly man told her.

"Hey, no, no, no," Jessica told him. "Here you go. A hot dog this delicious? I'd have to book myself for robbery. Take it."

"All right," the elderly man told her.

"Take care," Jessica told him, walking away toward her police car.

Man: (on radio) "All units, 10-78 at Second and Fletcher. Please respond."

Jessica took the radio to speak into it. "Lance, patrol delta Charlie 52, 10-60, officer responding. Over."

Man: (on radio) "Negative, DC-52. Disregard 10-78 and resume patrol."

Jessica frowned in confusion. "According to whose orders?"

Man: (on radio) "Your father."

  ➣

Warehouse

A woman had been killed, dressed like a doll, hoisted up.

Jessica walked up to the crime scene. "Excuse me." She looked Detective Hilton, her father's partner. "Hilton, what is going on here, huh? This is my beat. Why did my dad wave me off of this?"

"Jessica, it's under control," Hilton told her.

"Excuse me, what is under control?" Jessica asked.  They walked toward the body. Jessica froze when she saw what happened. She saw Lance nearby. "Dad?"

Lance heard her voice, turning to face her, sighing in frustration. "Damn it, Jessica."

"That's Barton Mathis," Jessica told him.

Lance sighed, walking closer. "That seems to be what the MO indicates."

"He's doing consecutive life sentences in Iron Heights," Jessica told him.

"Not anymore," Lance told her. "The quake split open a section of Iron Heights. Mathis was among the escapees. The brass want to avoid a panic, so they're keeping it quiet."

"Are they keeping it quite from me, too?" Jessica asked.

Lance sighed. "That was my request."

"Why?" Jessica asked.

Lance pulled Jessica aside to talk to her alone. "Come on, Jessie. I know what happened to you last time. The man got in your head. He almost killed you."

"Yeah, and I caught him," Jessica told him. "And no one knows Mathis better."

"And I've got all your notes and your files," Lance told her. "Pike's order. If you go anywhere near this, he's going to have you arrested for obstruction. And I'm going to let him, because I don't want you going anywhere near that man again."

Jessica gave him a look, walking away toward the body, looking at it like it brought back memories and sent chills down to her core.

  ➣

Night - Verdant - Foundry

Jill and Oliver were in the foundry of Verdant, training. Jill was in workout clothes. Oliver was shirtless, trying to punch Jill. Jill ducked to the floor, spinning to kick his legs out from underneath him, making him fall to his knees in front of her. Oliver tried to punch her. Jill ducked, wrapping an arm around his neck, flipping over to flip him onto the mat they were sparring on. Oliver grabbed Jill's arm, getting to his knees, twisting Jill's arm to where she was facing away from him, wrapping an arm around her neck from behind. They let an intense moment pass by, catching their breath, relaxing there with his arm around her and her hands on the arm that was around her.

Justin, John and Felicity were by the computers.

"You two never get tired, do you?" Justin asked.

"Stamina is good thing," Felicity told them. "Not that I'm saying that they have way too much stamina and that they use it for anything other than training." She was only embarrassing herself and them, sighing. "Three, two, one." Oliver let Jill go. They both stood. "I found a number of police reports from the last few months that may involve our mystery girls. They describe masked women in black and red attacking attackers. They put five would-be rapists in the hospital so far."

"Are you sure it's them?" Jill asked.

"Broken limbs, Sai knife marks, ruptured ear drums, your sonic thing," Felicity told them.

"That's them," Jill told them. "They're targeting criminals."

"Misogynist criminals," John told them. "First the Blue Hoods, now these girls. Looks like you two started a movement."

"I don't want to start a movement, so we catch them," Oliver told them. "I'm not letting the city get overrun with vigilantes."

Justin's phone rang. He answered. "Hi, Detective."

  ➣

Jill / Sapphire:

Building - Rooftop

Jessica was on a building rooftop, meeting with Jill/Sapphire.

Jill disguised her voice. "So, Mr. Smoak gives you a way to call me now."

Jessica walked closer with a file. "Justin and Felicity Smoak vouch for you and your friend. And you told me that you're trying to help the city without dropping bodies. That true?"

"What do you think?" Jill asked.

"Let's just say I'm willing to be convinced," Jessica told her. She looked around the city at night. "This city is hurting. And the police?" She turned to face Jill, sighing. "I always thought we didn't need to go outside of law to find justice. But in the light of recent events, I'm not so sure anymore." She dropped the file to the ground. "Barton Mathis." She turned away. "The media calls him the Doll Maker." Jill picked up the file, turning away to read. "'Cause he suffocates his victims with a flexible polymer that he pours down their throats and then he dresses them up like dolls. I put him away. Because of the quake... he's out and he's killing again."

"These are from six years ago," Jill told her.

"That's my personal file," Jessica told her.

"Maybe it's not just the file that's personal," Jill told her.

Jessica stepped closer. "Mathis killed eight girls before I got him last time. I don't want any more on my conscience."

Jill turned to face her. "What did you do the last time that you caught him?"

"I went undercover as one of the girls that he was looking for," Jessica answered. "Let him take me away. And nearly let him kill me before the police saved me and helped me take him him."

"So why don't you let the police do their job now?" Jill asked.

Jessica scoffed. "I could say the same thing to you. They're spread so thin, they can't even risk letting the public know that Mathis is out. You said your friend's trying it your way? Maybe I am, too."

  ➣

 Street

A girl was walking along with a shopping bag toward her car, completely alone. She heard footsteps, looking around. She turned to look behind her, but no one was there. She started to relax.

  ➣

Car

The girl got into the car.

Barton Mathis was in the backseat, putting a hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming, making her gasp. "You have such beautiful skin."

  ➣ ➣

Verdant - Foundry

Jill was showing the file and pictures of Mathis's victims to Felicity, Justin, John and Oliver, still in her suit, but without her mask.

"Jessica's file give you anything?" Oliver asked.

"Last time the Doll Maker was active in Starling City, he ramped up to one kill every three days," John told them.

"That gives us two to catch him," Justin told them. "Can we connect the victims?"

"Young, pretty," Jill told them. "According to Jessica's file, she couldn't figure out how he chose them."

"As if porcelain dolls weren't creepy enough all on their own," Felicity told them.

"Barton Mathis doesn't have any family or known acquaintances," John told them. "Lone wolves are harder to catch."

"But they do have the right to an attorney," Oliver told them. He looked at Jill. "Call Jessica. Tell him to set up a meeting for tonight."

"Where?" Jill asked.

"At the office of whoever represented Barton Mathis," Oliver answered.

"So, I'm assuming this takes priority over finding out the identity of your vigilante buddies," Justin told them.

Jill sighed. "I got that covered."

  ➣

Outside - Alley

Roy was in the alley outside Verdant, taking out the trash.

Jill/Sapphire came to him.

"Hey," Roy told her. "I was wondering when I was going to see you again."

"There are two people new in town," Jill told him. "Women. They're targeting men who target women. Find them, but don't engage. Leave them to me and my friend."

Roy nodded.

Jill walked away, leaving.

  ➣

Day Three

Morning - District Attorney's Office

Laurel was working.

Jessica walked in, wearing her uniform, looking at Laurel. "Twice in three weeks, you're ducking bullets and taking on vigilantes."

"I'm fine," Laurel told her.

"You don't look fine," Jessica told her. "You look tired."

"Did you just come here to tell me how tired I look?" Laurel asked.

"No," Jessica answered. "I came here to check up on you and check up on some court records." Laurel turned to face her in confusion. "Barton Mathis is out. I'm looking for his attorney."

"Why?" Laurel asked. "You're no longer a detective."

"Yeah, well, I'm just doing a little digging off the books," Jessica told her.

Laurel looked at her worriedly. "Jess, this case... it took you to such a dark place last time. And that was when you had Danny, when he was still alive. I can't imagine what it might do to you now that he's not."

"Look, nobody knows this guy better than me, which means nobody's got a better chance of stopping him, okay?" Jessica asked. "And that means every girl that he kills is like another one on my conscience."

Laurel shook her head, walking closer. "No. No, Jessie, it's not. Whatever guilt you're feeling, you're just using it to justify a vendetta."

"You talked to Dad, and you agree with him," Jessica told her. "You think I should be off this case."

"I think you need to have your head clear and stay away from Mathis," Laurel told her.

Jessica shook her head. "I'll do it myself."

Jessica walked away.

  ➣

Iron Heights Prison

Skylar and Thea waiting.

Moira was brought into the room.

"Are you okay?" Skylar asked.

Moira smiled a small smile, pulling her daughters into her arms. "Oh, Skylar, you have to stop asking me that every time you come to visit."

"Ah, don't count on it," Thea told her.

They pulled away.

"Well, then, I'm afraid you'll be asking me that for the next 25 years to life," Moira told them.

"Please don't talk like that," Skylar told her.

"Skylar, there's not a lot of value in the power of positive thinking when you're being put on trial for mass murder," Moira told her.

They walked toward their table.

"Let's just try to take things one step at a time, okay?" Thea asked, picking up clothes from the table to show her mother.

"Well, I'd have to check with my lawyer, but I don't think retail therapy is a viable legal strategy," Moira told them.

Thea chuckled. "Well, we spoke with her, and she said that you can wear regular clothes to your pre-trial hearing." She put the clothes on the table, pointing at them, looking at Moira. "So we picked these."

Moira managed a small smile, stepping closer. "I wish the fashion police was all I had to worry about."

Skylar sighed. "Please don't joke."

"Skylar, Thea, listen to me," Moira told them. "I need you to understand what's happening here. 503 people are dead, and there is a measure of guilt that is owed me. I'm ready to accept my punishment."

"Even if that means spending the rest of your life in here?" Skylar asked.

Moira nodded sadly, sincerely. "Yes."

They embraced tightly.

  ➣

Night - Tony Daniel's Office

Jessica knocked on the door, walking in. "Tony Daniel?"

"Help you with something, officer?" Tony asked, pulling on his jacket.

"Yeah," Jessica answered. "Barton Mathis. According to the DA's office, you handled his post-trial appeals, and I'd like to know where he is."

"So you can give him a parking ticket or something?" Tony asked patronizingly. Jessica looked at him in annoyance. "If you want to talk to me about one of my clients, come back with a detective shield. Or a court order." Jessica smirked. 'What, you find that funny?"

"Well, a little bit," Jessica answered.

Oliver/Arrow's shadow passed over the wall behind Jessica.

Tony turned to face Oliver/Arrow.

Oliver disguised his voice. "Where do we find him?"

Tony looked at him nervously. "Iron Heights Prison."

"He got out," Oliver told him.

"What?" Tony asked. "How?"

"You spent hours with him," Oliver told him. "Where would he run? Where?"

"I don't know," Tony told them. "I--I swear."

Oliver sighed, shooting an arrow into Tony's shoulder, making him fall onto the desk.

Jessica walked closer in shock. "What the hell are you doing? I thought you were done killing people."

"He'll live," Oliver told her.

"Yeah, but he'll report me to my lieutenant," Jessica told him.

"He won't talk to anyone," Oliver told her.

"What makes you so sure?" Jessica asked.

"Because he has another shoulder," Oliver answered, driving the arrow deeper through Tony's shoulder, making him scream.

"Oh, okay, okay, okay," Tony told them. "There--there is another place. He was always drawing it. Sketching. His cell walls were covered with the place."

"Yeah, well, what's the place?" Jessica asked. "Was it in Starling City?"

"Yeah," Tony answered. "The Bisque Museum. He said the building reminded him of Germany. Where porcelain dolls were invented."

Oliver let go of the arrow in his shoulder, walking away.

Tony gasped in pain in relief.

Jessica sighed heavily. "I'm sorry. I guess he just gets enthusiastic sometimes."

Jessica walked away, leaving.

  ➣

Jill / Sapphire:

 Bisque Museum - Hallway

Jill/Sapphire and Oliver/Arrow walked through a hallway in the museum.

Jessica walked toward them. "The lady at the desk said a guy matching Mathis's description checked in last week, room 52. And he paid in cash. And listen, just so we're clear, when we go through that door, we're here to arrest Mathis, okay? Not to torture him."

"You asked for our help," Oliver told her.

"Yeah, and that wasn't easy, and neither is aiding and abetting,"Jessica told them. "And I am still a police officer."

"Do you want to catch him or not?" Jill asked.

Jessica sighed, drawing her gun. "Let's go."

  ➣

Room 52

Jessica kicked in the door, walking in, aiming the gun around.

Oliver/Arrow and Jill/Sapphire walked in.

A porcelain doll that looked just like Jessica was on the table, holding a newspaper.

Jill looked from the doll to Jessica. "Is that..."

Jessica took a deep, uneasy breath, lowering her gun, picking up the porcelain doll that was just like her.

The phone on the table in front of the doll started to ring.

Jessica answered the phone.

Mathis's voice was on the other line. "Detective. It's been too long."

Jill spoke through comms. "Felicity, I need a trace."

"On it," Felicity told them.

Jessica spoke into the phone. "You sick son of a bitch."

"Sick?" Mathis repeated. "I've never felt better. Fresh air agrees with me."

"Yeah, well, don't get too use to it," Jessica told him. "I caught you before. It's just a matter of time before I do it again."

"Fair enough," Mathis told her. "In the meantime, however, I have someone who'd like to say hello to you. Say hello, dear." A woman was crying and screaming. Mathis was in his hideout with the woman, killing her. "She's a little inarticulate."

"She's done nothing to you," Jessica told him. "Please, don't hurt her. Just let her go."

"And allow her to wither away to a mediocre and forgettable life?" Mathis asked. "No. No, no, no, no, no. She deserves so much better. She deserves to see her beauty preserved. Pristine. Forever. Just like you, Jessica Lance. Don't worry. I will turn her into something special. Pay attention, detective. What comes next is really quite exquisite." He poured the flexible polymer into a tube that was connected to the woman's mouth. "The sound of an esophagus slowly hardening." The woman screamed. "Like a symphony."

"Felicity..." Jill trailed off.

"I'm trying, but he's blocked the skip trace," Felicity told her.

Jessica spoke into the phone. "Barton, don't do it. I'm begging you, okay? Is that what you want? I am begging you. Please, just stop!"

"It's for the world to enjoy," Mathis told her. "After all..." The woman was now dead. "Everyone loves a pretty doll."

Jessica lowered his phone, breathing heavily.

  ➣ ➣

Crime Scene - Alley

The woman was dressed like a doll, hosted up and making a pose in death.

The police were all over.

Jessica walked closer, looking at the body in regret.

  ➣

 Verdant - Foundry

Jill and Oliver were with Justin, Felicity and John. Jill didn't have her mask on, and Oliver didn't have his hood on.

"The police found her body an hour ago," Justin told them.

"Does the new victim give us any forensics we can use?" Oliver asked.

"CSI did a complete forensics workup, but they sent everything out to a private lab," John told them.

Jill looked at Felicity. "Can you get in?"

"No," Felicity answered. "They took their system offline. It seems like someone hacked into a lot of police-related systems last year."

"Then we do it like we did the Merlyn job," Jill told them.

Oliver frowned.

  ➣

Restricted Station - Hallway

Jill/Sapphire led Jessica through a restricted station, throwing a dart into a guard's neck, making him fall unconscious.

"So glad you invited me to tag along," Jessica told her sarcastically.

Jill smirked in amusement.

  ➣

File Room

Jill/Sapphire and Jessica walked into the file room.

"Tranq dart," Jill told her. "He'll be out for 36 minutes."

"Yeah, I remember," Jessica told her.

Jill hooked up a flashdrive to the computer. "You're up, Felicity."

"So, this is what a typical night's like for you, huh?" Jessica asked. "Just a little breaking and entering."

"All right, I got toxicology first," Felicity told them.

Jessica looked around the room. "What are all these?"

"Chemical ingredients of all the makeup found on the victims," Felicity answered. "Skin cream, nail polish, lipstick."

Jessica pointed at the computer. "Wait, wait, stop. Scroll back. Scroll back." Jill scrolled back. "This one. Ethyl paraben. Sodium Laureth sulphate. I've seen this before."

"It's skin cream," Felicity told them. "Forensics found traces of it on her fingers. Probably something she used before he grabbed her."

"Skin cream," Jessica repeated. "Mermaiden. It's the skin scream that I use. Oh, and one of the victims from his last run, she had this in her purse and I had the lab analyze it, and it's the same formula."

Jill looked at Jessica. "Two of the victims and you had the same taste in skin cream. That can't be a coincidence."

"I could never figure out how he chose his victims," Jessica told her.

"I think you just did," Jill told her.

Jessica nodded.

Jill took the flash drive out of the computer.

Oliver was in the foundry with Felicity, thinking.

  ➣

Flashback

Day - Lian Yu - Woods

Slade and Oliver were finding higher ground.

"We shouldn't have left Jill and Shado," Oliver told him.

"Well, it's their lives," Slade told him. "It's their choices. You listen to my advice."

"What advice?" Oliver asked.

"To avoid attachment," Slade answered.

Oliver chuckled sarcastically. "Yeah. That was bad advice."

"But it will save your life," Slade told him.

"Maybe I don't want to live under those terms," Oliver told him.

"Yeah, well, maybe you're an idiot," Slade told him.

"Hey, you think that caring about people gets you killed," Oliver told him. "I think it's what keeps people alive."

Slade turned to face him. "I was wrong about you. You're definitely an idiot."

Oliver smirked sarcastically. "Then that's who I am. I'm not changing." Slade turned to walk further up the cliff, slipping, nearly falling down. Oliver grabbed Slade by the arms to keep him up. "You should be happy I haven't avoided attachment to you."

Oliver pulled Slade up to safety.

Now

Day Four

Morning - The Glades

Roy walked toward a group of people with a box, loading it onto a truck.

A man standing nearby at a table looked at Roy. "Harper. It's been a while, hoss."

"I've been busy," Roy told him.

The man looked into the box Roy had brought, seeing bottles of wine. "I can see that. I'll give you a hundred."

"Four," Roy told him.

"Two-five," the man told him.

Roy nodded. "Done. If you throw in some information." The man sighed. "Come on, man, you've got your finger on the pulse. I'm looking for someone. Well, two people, actually. A blonde girl in black leather. A brunette lady in red. And beats the crap out of guys with a bow staff and Sai knives. I want to put eyes on them. What do you know?"

"Not much," the man answered. "You know Cindy? Folks call her 'Sin'. Se's got short, spiky hair. Yeah, I've seen her a couple times hanging around with your two girls."

"So where can I find Sin?" Roy asked.

"Well, she hangs out over at Fifth and Boyton," the man told him, taking out $250, handing it to Roy. "And that is what I know."

Roy nodded, walking away.

Verdant - Foundry

John, Justin, Felicity, Oliver and Jill were in the foundry.

"So, this is it?" John asked. "Skin cream. That's our lead?"

"It's something," Oliver told them. "What do we know about the product?"

"It's made from crushed mother of pearl, and it's super high-end," Felicity answered. "Only carried in a handful of boutiques, and it's marketed for women with extremely delicate complexions."

"He picks his victims for their skin," Jill told them. "The cream is how he finds them."

"Only four stores in the city carry it, and three have surveillance systems," Felicity told them. "I've ran facial recognition through all of them looking for Mathis, but come up empty. He must be staking out the stores from the outside."

"Fine," Justin told them. "So we'll do the same."

"That could take days we don't have," Oliver told them. "He's probably out there right now looking for another girl."

Felicity was thinking. "So, that's what we give him." Oliver, Jill, Justin and John looked at her. "I'll go to the stores that carry Mermaiden, and buy it in each one to cover our bases."

"It's too dangerous," Justin told her.

Felicity stood. "More dangerous than being a police consultant, body guard, self-defense class instructor and sidekick to two vigilantes, all while having a heart condition with a vessel that could pop and effectively end your life at any moment?" Justin gave her a look. "It's my life. It's my choice."

Flashback

Day - Lian Yu - Cliff

Oliver and Slade were walking together.

"There are only two ways onto this island," Slade told him. "By sea, and by air."

"So, what, you're going to steal whatever they use to get onto the island?" Oliver asked.

"Well, I'm tired of living here," Slade told him. "Aren't you?"

They looked through binoculars toward the ocean, seeing a freighter.

Oliver was in shock. "Oh, my God."

"It appears to be two or three clicks offshore," Slade told him.

They heard explosions in the distance.

"What the hell?" Oliver asked.

"It's firing off its location," Slade answered. They realized the girls were in danger. "The fuselage. They must have found it."

"Jill," Oliver told him, running away toward the fuselage.

Slade ran after him. "Kid!"

  ➣

Now

Night - Store - Outside

Felicity walked out of a store with a bag of Mermaiden, speaking through comms. "Left the last store. You're going to reimburse me for these, right? I saved my receipts."

Oliver/Arrow and Jill/Sapphire were watching from two separate rooftops.

"Go to the rendezvous point," Oliver told her. "Stay in public."

Felicity walked past a car where Justin was sitting inside.

Justin was walking on the sidewalk.

Jessica was inside her own car, wearing normal clothes. "Just for the record, I'm not a huge fan of dangling helpless girls in front of psychopaths like meat."

"She volunteered," Jill told her.

"Well, she must really believe in you," Jessica told them.

"So did your sister," Oliver told her.

Jessica sighed. "She suffered a loss. Grief's got a way of shifting a person's beliefs. But then you know all about that. You've all lost people, too, right?"

"Why would you say that?" Jill asked.

"Why else would you be doing this?" Jessica asked. "My younger sister? She died."

"I'm sorry," Oliver told her.

"Less than a month after it happened, I--I ended up catching the Doll Maker case," Jessica told them. "Threw myself into it. I think on some level, with each girl I was trying to save... Sara. And just like with Sara, I couldn't. He killed eight girls Sara's age before he tried to kill me and I caught him."

"Someone's coming," Felicity told them.

Jill watched a man walk toward Felicity. "I got him."

Felicity walked toward her car. "Okay, I'm going to admit to being seriously wigged out right now." The man walked into a store. "False alarm, but next time I offer to be bait for your serial killer, please turn me down."

  ➣

Alley

Felicity walked right into Mathis in the alley, screaming.

  ➣

Road

Jessica and Justin got out of their cars. They and John ran toward the alley.

Jessica spoke into her radio. "Delta Charlie 52 to Central. Code 99, possible 207 in progress, immediate backup required."

  ➣

Warehouse

Mathis dragged Felicity into a warehouse. He was shot in the shoulder with an arrow.

Jill/Sapphire slid down a wire down to the ground, pulling Felicity away from Mathis, kicking him in the chest, making him fall.

Felicity fell to the ground.

Mathis ran away.

Jill knelt next to Felicity to check on her. "You all right? You're all right. Don't move." Justin ran closer. "She hit her head."

"Go, go, go," Justin told her, kneeling next to Felicity.

Jill stood, running off after Mathis.

John and Jessica followed.

Mathis used a plank to hit John in the head, making him fall and drop his gun. He picked up the gun, walking toward Jessica, aiming the gun at her, making her stop. "I thought there'd be more ceremony to this moment. I'm a little disappointed, to be honest."

Mathis prepared to pull the trigger.

Oliver/Arrow arrived next to Mathis, kicking the gun out of his hand, shooting an arrow into his hand.

Jill ran closer.

Police sirens enveloped the warehouse from outside.

Jessica stood, looking at Jill and Oliver. "Get out of here!" Jill and Oliver ran off, leaving. Police cars pulled over. Officers and detectives got out, walking closer. Jessica walked closer., showing them her badge. "Officer Lance, SCPD. It's Mathis. I almost had him."

"Search the area," Lance told them. "Whole building."

Hilton walked toward Jessica. "Sorry."

"For what?" Jessica asked.

"Pike's orders," Hilton told her. "He wants you collared for obstruction."

Jessica scoffed. "What, he--"

Hilton handcuffed her. "Jessica Eve Lance, you have the right to remain silent."

Jessica sighed, looking at Lance. "Dad?"

"Sorry, baby girl," Lance told her. "I warned you this would happen."

Hilton continued reading the rights. "If you give up that right to remain silent, anything you say can..."

Lance and Hilton took Jessica away.

Day Five

Morning - Street

Jill was walking on the sidewalk the next day, on the phone with Felicity.

"They're charging Jessica with obstruction," Felicity told her. "She's in custody."

"Mathis isn't," Jill told her. "He'll be looking for another target."

"I hacked Mermaiden and sent out an email blast from their servers telling stores the product was defective," Felicity told her. "That will slow them down."

"Smart," Jill told her.

"What about Jessica?" Felicity asked.

Jill sighed. "One legal problem at a time."

Jill walked up to the courthouse, hanging up, walking upstairs.

  ➣

Inside - Courtroom

Moira was getting ready for her trial.

Skylar, Thea and Oliver were already sitting in the pew behind her.

Jill walked in, placing a hand on Moira's shoulder.

Moira was relieved to see her, managing a small smile.

Skylar and Thea looked at Jill in relief, smiling a small smile.

Thea slid over on the pew for Jill to sit between Thea and Oliver.

Jill sat down.

"Docket ending 4587, state versus Queen," the bailiff told them.

"All right, I'll hear your motions," the judge told them. "Ladies first."

Moira's lawyer, Jean Loring, stood. "Your honor, we would like to be heard once again on the issue of bail. Mrs. Queen has languished in the Iron Heights Prison now for five months."

"And in those five months, did the 503 people she's charged with killing miraculously return from the dead?" the judge asked. "If not, I'm a little unclear on how the passage of time is relevant."

"Might I remind the court that the defendant is presumed innocent?" Jean asked.

"No need," the judge answered. "I went to law school. It's where I learned that bail, once denied, cannot be set in the absence of change of circumstance. Mr. Donner, what do you have for me?"

Adam stood. "Your honor, the state has no pre-trial motions to make at this time. But we would like to serve notice to the defense pursuant to rule of criminal procedure 15."

Jean stood. "Your honor, I would like to conference with the district attorney."

"There's really no need, nor any obligation," Adam told them.

"What about professional courtesy?" Jean asked. "I would like to have a conversation with you before you seek the death penalty."

Everyone was in shock.

The crowd started to murmur.

Skylar looked at Thea, Jill and Oliver worriedly.

Adam looked at Jean. "Your client aided and abetted an act of mass murder. 503 conversations wouldn't convince me that Moira Queen shouldn't be the 504th fatality."

"Your honor..." Jean trailed off.

Oliver leaned forward to speak in Moira's ear. "Mom, we are going to fight this. No one is going to take you from us. We won't let it happen."

Flashback

Day - Lian Yu - Woods

The men that had come to the island were firing at the fuselage.

Slade and Oliver ran closer.

"Shado!" Slade called worriedly.

"Jill!" Oliver yelled.

There were explosions all over the ground, throwing them through the air, making them fall.

Oliver sat up weakly. His ears were ringing.

Slade's hand was on fire, making him scream in agony.

Oliver fell back to the ground.

Starling City Police Department - Interrogation Room

Jessica was sitting at the table, handcuffed, lying her hands on the table in front of her.

Laurel walked in.

Laurel put the keys on the table next to Jessica. "I had to call in a lot of favors to get those." Jessica picked up the keys. "The only problem is that I've been at the DA's office for less than a month, and no one owes me any favors."

Jessica uncuffed herself, standing. "So how did you get the charges dropped?"

Lance walked in. "Pike and I have been working together on the anti-vigilante task force. Do you remember?"

  ➣

Main Room

Jessica, Laurel and Lance walked in.

"Hmm, yeah, I remember," Jessica answered. "Just like I remember that Laurel was working with the Arrow and Sapphire last year, and now she's working against them to justify blaming them for Tommy's death. What a difference a few months makes."

"The Arrow and Sapphire?" Laurel repeated.

"Yeah," Jessica answered. "Seems more appropriate than the hood and the girl in blue."

"And you're still working with them," Lance told her.

"This city needs help," Jessica told them. "I'm just less particular about where it comes from." She looked at Laurel. "What's your excuse? Still Tommy?"

"What would you tell me if I said it is?" Laurel asked.

Jessica sighed. "That a guy with a bow and arrow and a girl with swords and knives can't save a guy whose had a building fall on top of him. What's going on with you is not about the Arrow or Sapphire."

"Then what is it, Jessica?" Laurel asked. "Why don't you tell me? I mean, you seem to have all the answers."

"I don't know," Jessica told her. "I wish I did. 'Cause it's eating you up and making you lash out. Believe me. I've been through it."

"Your psychoanalysis would probably have a bit more credibility if it wasn't being offered under police custody," Lance told her.

"Because of you," Jessica told him. "I told you that I was going to do whatever it took to take Mathis down again."

"And I told you to stay away from him," Lance told her.

"All you're doing right now is pushing me away from you," Jessica told him, walking away.

Laurel walked away.

Lance sighed.

Street

Roy was looking around, finding a teenage girl with black spiky hair drinking from a bottle of alcohol, walking toward her. "Excuse me."

"Step off, Abercrombie," Sin told him.

Roy stepped closer. "Cindy?" Sin tilted her head. "Sin?"

"What do you want?" Sin asked. "Can't you see I'm busy?"

"I'm looking for two friends of yours," Roy told her. "One's blonde in black leather, head to two. The other's brunette lady in red with Sai knives." Sin looked at him for a second, running away as fast as she could. Roy sighed. "So I guess that's a yes."

Roy took off after Sin.

Sin jumped over a fence, still running.

Roy jumped over the fence, running after her.

Alley

Sin ran away from Roy down an alley as he chased her, sliding down the railing of a set of steps, continuing to run.

Roy jumped over the railing, running after her toward the clock tower.

Sin ran inside.

Clock Tower

Roy ran upstairs into the clock tower, looking around. He was hit over the head with a bow staff, falling to the floor, unconscious.

Starling City Police Department - Parking Garage

Jessica walked toward her car, sighing.

A man was nearby her car, turned away from her, wearing a hoodie, talking to himself indistinctly.

Jessica walked closer in confusion.

"He said he would go inside..." the man trailed off. "That's what he said. He said he would go inside."

Jessica walked closer, concerned. "You all right, pal? Need a doctor or something?"

Jessica placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to help him.

The man turned to face her, shoving a taser into her stomach, electrifying her, pulling back his hood, revealing it was Mathis. "No. I'm fine, thanks."

Mathis put Jessica in the back of the van with Laurel, having them both tied up and unconscious.

Skylar was pacing, on the phone. "I checked the order and you shorted us half a case of champagne. I'm not paying for booze I didn't get."

Skylar scoffed, hanging up, putting her phone down on the bar, grabbing a bottle.

Justin walked closer. "That won't help."

Skylar put the bottle down. "Yeah, well, neither is yelling at my vendors, but... I want to yell at someone right now."

"Your mom's going to be okay," Justin told her. "Because you and your brother and sister can help her fight this. As a family."

Skylar looked at him sadly. "They want to kill her."

Justin shook his head. "They're not going to."

Skylar sighed, looking at him thankfully for the talk.

Justin's phone vibrated. He pulled it out, looking at the text from Felicity.

News. Now.

(Song Ends)

Justin put the phone away. "Skylar, can you turn to channel 52, please?"

Skylar turned the TV on to channel 52.

Woman: (on TV) "Officer Jessica Lance and her sister Laurel were abducted earlier today." Skylar and Justin were in shock, walking closer to the TV. "o ransom has been demanded. SCPD are urging anyone with information regarding their whereabouts..."

Foundry

Justin walked in to join Oliver, Jill, John and Felicity. "How did he get them?"

"I don't know about Laurel," Felicity told them. "Jessica was abducted from the precinct parking lot. Mathis shot a guard on the way out, which sounded the alarm. I pulled up the department's security camera footage, and a van from Metamorpho Chemical caught my eye."

"Metamorpho was condemned after the quake," John told them. "Perfect place to make some dolls."

"Not tonight," Jill told them, turning to the suits in the cases.

"Cops will use tracers, same as we did," John told them.

"They won't make it in time," Oliver told them.

Oliver and Jill walked toward the suits.

Amy / Ruby:

Clock Tower

Roy was ziptied.

Sin flicked him in the nose. "Hey. Wake up, Abercrombie."

"What?" Roy asked.

Roy looked up to see Sara and Amy.

"Did they send you?" Sara asked.

"Did who what?" Roy asked, sitting up. Sara hit him in the face with her staff, making him groan in pain. "Not my face. I have a disapproving girlfriend."

"Are you one of them?" Amy asked.

"One of who?" Roy asked. His phone was on the floor. It was vibrating. Amy knelt next to it to pick it up. "That's mine."

Sara saw the text, nodding to Amy. "Let him go."

Sara jumped onto the bars of the ceiling, pulling herself away.

Amy cut Roy free with her Sai knives, following Sara.

Roy picked up his phone to look at the text from Thea.

Where R U? Jessica and Laurel kidnapped. NEED YOU!

Jill / Sapphire:

 Condemned Building / Warehouse

Jessica and Laurel were tied and restrained to the tables, lying up.

Laurel already had a tube over her mouth.

Jessica was struggling.

Mathis walked closer. "Isn't this nice? All of us here together. It's like Thanksgiving."

"Laurel, just stay calm," Jessica told her. "Stay calm." Mathis stood, walking close. "Barton, I'm sorry. I know you hate me. I know you hate me, okay? And I understand that." Mathis held his head close to Jessica to patronize her. "But you hate me. So please let my sister go."

Mathis walked toward Laurel. "Now why would I do that? Look at her. She's so lovely. Maybe a little too much melanin in the skin, but... it's the imperfections that make art sublime."

Jessica struggled against her restraints. "I am the one who put you away. You're obsessed with me. She has nothing to do with it!"

Mathis walked closer. "She has everything to do with it! I know all about you, Jessica Lance. I know that you lost your younger sister a month before you caught me. And that's why you dove right in. You lost your younger sister already. Now you're about to watch your older one turn into a masterpiece." He picked up a tube, walking toward Jessica. "You know, I could kill you, I could maim you, I could slice you up into a thousand pieces, but if your soul remains intact, what have I done? Huh? Nothing. So you will watch your sister die, Detective. And then you will do the same." Mathis put the tube into Jessica's mouth, fastening it around her head. He walked toward the polymer, pouring it into the tube connected to Laurel's mouth. Laurel was crying in fear of death. Jessica was trying not to cry, struggling. "If you struggle, it will take longer."

Jill/Sapphire jumped down from the ceiling, landing on the table.

Oliver/Arrow ran closer, shooting an arrow the recipient that was forcing the polymer into Laurel's mouth to save her. He aimed his bow at Mathis.

Mathis ran away.

Jill jumped down from the table.

"Do whatever you need to do, just get him," Oliver told her. "Get him!"

Jill ran after Mathis.

Oliver used an arrow to Jessica cut free, pulling the tube out of her mouth.

Sara landed on the ground behind Laurel, pulling the tube out of her mouth and pulling the polymer out.

Oliver, Jessica and Laurel looked at Sara in confusion.

Elsewhere

Mathis was running.

Amy landed on the ground behind him in a crouch, drawing her Sai knives, holding them out to either side of her, spinning to kick Mathis's legs out from underneath him, slashing the blades into his shoulder, spinning around to slash it into his legs, making him fall. Mathis crawled away toward a gun on the floor. Amy spun her knives in her hands. Mathis turned to fire at Amy. Amy ducked, slashing into Mathis's arm to make him drop the gun, spinning to kick his legs out from underneath him, making him fall.

Mathis pulled on a chain to release pipes from the ceiling, making them fall onto Amy and pin her to the floor, standing, walking closer. "Let's have a better look at that face of yours. You have such lovely skin."

Jill was on the balcony above. She threw knives into Mathis's arms to stop him from touching Amy, making him fall. She jumped down to the floor in front of them, landing in a crouch, looking up. She stood, throwing knives into Mathis's hands to pin him to the pipe behind him. "You're going back to prison."

Jill hit Mathis in the head with the hilt of her sword, making him fall unconscious. She heard the rumble of pipes being pushed away, turning around to see that Amy had disappeared.

Elsewhere

Oliver/Arrow and the Sara were gone, and Jessica and Laurel were free.

Jessica and Laurel embraced in relief.

"It's okay," Jessica told her. "They saved us."

"I know," Laurel told her. "I know they did, and after I hunted them."

"It's okay," Jessica told her. "It's all right."

Laurel shook her head. "No. They came. They came to save us. You were right. I was blaming the vigilantes because... because I just needed someone to blame. And I didn't have anyone to blame, or to hate, because Merlyn was dead, and... oh, my God."

"I know," Jessica told her. "It's tearing you up."

"Just like it tore you up," Laurel told her. "Now I know why you did the things that you did after Danny died. I never understood... but now I do. I'm sorry, Jessie. I'm so, so sorry."

Laurel and Jessica started to cry, embracing.

Sara was watching from the balcony above.

"It's all right, Laurel," Jessica told her.

Laurel continued to cry.

Jessica continued to hold her.

Sara watched them for a moment longer in sadness, walking away.

Jessica was sitting in the dark, having a drink. She heard something behind her, putting the drink down, standing, turning around, ready to draw her gun, only to see Jill/Sapphire.

Jill disguised her voice. "How are you?"

Jessica sighed. "We'll be all right. In time. I might not always agree with your methods, or your friend's, but I can't argue with your results. You saved us. Again."

"You needed help," Jill told her.

"Thank you," Jessica told her.

Jill nodded.

They heard Lance's voice. "Jessica?"

Jessica turned around.

Lance walked in toward her.

"Dad," Jessica told him, turning to look behind her to see that Jill was already gone.

Lance walked closer. "I'm so glad you're okay."

Jessica turned to Lance, nodding. "I'm okay."

Lance and Jessica embraced.

Iron Heights Prison

Jean was waiting.

Moira walked in.

Jean walked toward her. "Moira. I know how hard this day has been for you."

Moira nodded. "Yes. And believe it or not, I've actually been in worse situations."

"Listen to me," Jean told her. "Donner knows how strong our defense is." They walked toward their table. "Don't let him scare you with that little death penalty stunt of his."

"Oh, I'm not afraid of dying, Jean," Moira told her. Jean sat down. "I've made my peace with this world a long time ago."

Moira sat across from her.

"Then let's win the case in the courtroom," Jean told her. "The trial is going to reveal that you were living under Malcolm Merlyn's thumb. It's going to reveal everything."

Moira nodded in agreement. "Yes. And that's what I'm afraid of."

Jean looked at her in confusion. "Moira, what don't I know?" Moira looked down. "Don't you do this. You need to tell me. I am your lawyer, and I am also your friend."

Moira took her hand. "Skylar, Thea and Oliver. I'm finally in a good place with my children, Jean. I have my family back. But there are some things... that must never be spoken of."

Clock Tower

Amy slid into the room on a pipe from the wall, jumping down to the floor. She had her back toward the clock on the tower, hearing someone approach her.

A man wearing a suit much like the Dark Archer's approached her from behind.

Amy turned to face him. "You shouldn't have come here."

The man walked closer. "I had no choice. Ra's Al Ghul has ordered your return."

The man pulled off his hood.

"I'm not going back," Amy told him. "I can't."

"That is not your decision," the man told her.

"Tell them that you couldn't find me or the Canary," Amy told him, stepping closer. "Tell them we ran."

The man drew a knife, pointing it at her. "I won't lie for you."

"Fine," Amy told him, twisting his arm to maneuver him around with his back to her, restraining him, turning his arm to make him stab himself in the heart, killing him. "Don't tell them anything."

Amy let the body fall.

"We need to find them," John told them.

"To stop them, or to send them a thank you note?" Felicity asked.

"That depends," Oliver told them.

"On what?" John asked.

"What side they're on," Jill answered.

They exchanged a look, sighing.
