From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the conference room, Oliver stood in front of the board.
Oliver: (voice over) "My name is Oliver Queen."
From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the cemetery, Jill was sitting at Tommy's grave in guilt.
Jill: (voice over) "I'm Jill Wright."
From 1.06 "Legacies", in flashback to the cave on Lian Yu, Oliver was aiding Jill after they saved her from the soldiers.
Oliver lifted the back of her shirt to reveal carved tally marks in her back that were bleeding and scarred. They were all over her back, the tally marks small to include all of the number of the days. There were a few in her shoulders, as the skin of her back couldn't hold it all.
Jill: (voice over) "After five years on a hellish island..."
From 1.23 "Sacrifice", in flashback to the soldier camp, Jill jumped down from the missile launcher, taking cover.
The missile hit the ground at the soldier camp, setting it ablaze.
Jill sat back tiredly on the ground, watching the flames.
From 1.06 "Legacies", in the hideout, Oliver and Jill were training at the hideout with two metal short staffs. Oliver and shirtless. Jill was in workout clothes, including a sports bra. Oliver swung both of his up over their heads, trying to come down on her. Jill raised both of hers in an X shape to block both of his.
Jill: (voice over) "We have come to Starling City with only one goal."
From 1.08 "Vendetta", in the hideout, Jill was getting suited up.
Oliver was watching from nearby, getting suited up.
John and Justin walked closer.
Jill: (voice over) "To save the city."
From 1.21 "The Undertaking", in the casino, Oliver/Arrow fired an arrow into a man's shoulder, making him fall.
Oliver: (voice over) "But to do so..."
From 1.16 "Dead to Rights", on the helipad, Oliver/Arrow and Guillermo Barrera were fighting. Oliver stabbed him with an arrow, killing him.
Oliver: (voice over) "I can't be the killer I once was."
From 1.19 "Unfinished Business", in the lab at the asylum, Oliver/Arrow stabbed the orderly in the chest with an arrow, killing him.
From 1.23 "Sacrifice", in Merlyn Global Group, Tommy and Oliver/Arrow helped Jill/Sapphire inside to get them to the ground outside.
The building was falling apart around them.
Tommy saw rubble falling toward them, pushing them out of the way.
The debris fell onto Tommy, making him fall, pinning him down.
Jill started to pull the debris away.
A pipe had been stabbed into Tommy's chest.
Oliver and Jill were horrified.
Oliver: (voice over) "To honor my friend's memory, I must be someone else."
From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the cemetery, Oliver and Jill stood at Tommy's grave.
From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the foundry, Oliver and Jill walked in to join John, Justin and Felicity.
Jill: (voice over) "I must be..."
Jill looked at the knife in her hand. She morphed into Sapphire.
Jill: (voice over) "Something else."
Oliver looked at the arrow in his hand. He morphed into Arrow.
➣ ➣
From 1.01 "Pilot", there was a raging storm over the ocean.
Jill: (voice over) "Previously on Sapphire Arrow."
From 1.01 "Pilot", in Thea's room, Oliver pulled out two arrowhead necklace, showing them the bigger, more elegant necklace. "This is a hozen. And in Buddhism, it symbolizes reconnecting. I kept it, and I made another one out of tree wood in hopes that one day..."
From 1.04 "An Innocent Man", in Skylar's room, Skylar was sitting at her desk, looking at the hozen.
Oliver: (voice over from 1.01 Pilot) "They would reconnect me with both of you."
From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in Jessica's Loft, Jessica and Laurel were sitting at the table, having breakfast.
"Laurel, Malcolm killed Tommy," Jessica told her.
"He was killed in the crossfire between three vigilantes," Laurel told her. "And now that Malcolm's dead, there's only two of them left. And I'm gonna help my boss catch them."
From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the office of Verdant, Thea and Roy were arguing.
"It's like you have a death wish," Thea told him. "And guess what? It's going to come true."
From 2.01 "City of Heroes", in the main room of Verdant, Justin walked in. "There she is." Skylar looked up. "Hero of the Queen family."
Skylar smiled, walking closer. "Well, someone has to do something. And stand up for what's right. Like they do."
"The vigilantes," Justin told her.
Skylar shrugged. "I would rather think of them as guardian angels."
➣ ➣
Day One
Night - Verdant - Foundry
Oliver was shirtless, working out on the bars that Jill usually swung on, hoisting himself above them to do pushups, swinging down to allow himself to do pullups, jumping down, punching through an arm on the dummy, breaking it off.
➣
On the Road
A medicinal transport truck drove down the road from FEMA.
Two motorcyclists drove closer.
➣
Truck
Two men were in the cab.
Man 1 looked at the driver, Man 2. "Faster!"
"Foot's on the floor, man," Man 2 told him. "Call it in."
Man 1 looked out of the window, speaking into a radio. "This is FEMA truck 52."
➣
Alley - Car
Roy was sitting in the car, listening to them through police radio.
Man 1: (on radio) "We're being pursued by two armed bikers. We're heading south on Third Street, requesting immediate assistance."
Roy drove away.
➣
On the Road - Truck
Man 2 continued to try and get away from the bikers.
"Come on, get us out of here," Man 1 told him. "Get us out of here!"
"I'm trying," Man 2 told him.
They looked outside to the bikers.
➣
Car
Roy drove closer from ahead of them, driving straight toward one of the bikers.
The biker swerved out of the way, driving up a nearby car, flipping and crashing.
Roy looked behind him to watch, smiling, pumping his fist against the steering wheel.
➣
Truck
The two men continued to drive.
"Who the hell was that?" Man 1 asked.
Man 2 shook his head in confusion.
➣
On the Road
The second biker turned around, driving toward Roy.
Roy turned the car around, driving toward the biker.
The biker shot up the car, though it was mostly bulletproof.
Roy wrecked his car, flipping over the ground and landing upside down.
➣
Another Road
The truck drove down the road.
China White stood in the middle of the road in front of the truck. She spun the knives in her hands, throwing the knives into the necks of the two men in the truck, killing them.
The truck had to pull over.
The biker that hadn't been wrecked drove closer.
China spoke in Chinese. "Take the truck. Leave nothing behind."
The biker nodded, getting off the bike, walking toward the truck.
China got onto the bike.
➣
Other Road
The police had arrived to where Roy had wrecked the car.
Roy got out of the car, standing. "Just so you know, the real bad guys are getting away."
➣
Verdant
(Song:) We Come Running - Young Blood Hawke
Jill was in the Verdant club during the raging night.
Skylar was in the crowd, serving up shots and dancing with the rest of them.
Jill watched her, smiling a small smile.
Oliver walked up behind Jill. "We're going to need more sparring dummies."
"I'll start ordering them in bulk," Jill told him.
"This mean you're ready to launch Crusade 2.0?" Oliver asked.
"I'm ready," Jill answered. "I just don't know where to begin. Last year, we had the list. Getting justice was as simple as crossing names out of a book."
"This is Starling City," Oliver told her. "You never have to look far to find someone engaged in illegal activity. Yesterday, Big Belly Burger got robbed."
"Really?" Jill asked. Oliver nodded. "I would kill for a Big Belly Burger."
"Maybe we should grab a bite sometime," Oliver told her.
Jill tilted her head, looking down. Things were not quite what they were just before the Undertaking, as Oliver had left after it all, but she understood why and knew she would have likely done the same, so she didn't blame him, but it put things on pause for them for the time being.
Skylar walked up to them. "Hey! I didn't see you come in."
"We had a secret entrance installed when we ran the club," Oliver told her. "Kidding."
Skylar nodded.
"Where's Thea?" Jill asked.
"The police called her," Skylar told them. "Said that Roy got arrested for picking a fight in the street. So Thea's on her way down there now. I'm gonna go down there."
Oliver and Jill nodded.
(Song Ends)
➣
Starling City Police Department - Interrogation Room
Roy was sitting at the table.
Laurel was pacing around him, sighing. "Who are they, Roy?"
"I already told you, I don't know," Roy told her.
"So you just happen to have one of the hood's arrows," Laurel told him, putting a red flanchette on the table.
"I hear he likes green ones," Roy told her.
"Do you think this is funny?" Laurel asked. "Because I can charge you with obstruction right now." Roy rolled his eyes, looking away. Laurel sighed, taking a seat across from him. "Look... I used to feel the same way as you. They have this way of... seducing you. Making you feel like they're some kind of guardian angels. But they're not. They cause chaos and death. And you trying to emulate them just makes the situation worse."
"Half the city fell into a hole," Roy told her. "I'd say the situation's already worse. Look, some of us are just trying to make it better."
"Who, like you and the vigilantes?" Laurel asked.
Roy sighed, leaning closer. "There are others. Others out there who are willing to do what's right. I've seen them."
"I'm not interested in anyone else," Laurel told him. "Just the hood and the girl in blue."
➣
Main Room
Thea was pacing.
Oliver and Skylar sat nearby.
Roy walked out of the interrogation room.
Thea turned to face him. "What happened? Are you hurt?"
Laurel walked toward them.
"Fender bender," Roy told them.
"He totaled his car playing vigilantes junior," Laurel told them.
"At least it wasn't my car," Roy told them.
Oliver and Skylar stood.
Skylar looked at Roy. "Don't say anything. I already called you an attorney."
"That won't be necessary," Laurel told them. "We're not pressing charges." They looked at her in surprise. "So long as he gives up looking for trouble."
"Might as well tell him to give up breathing," Thea told them.
Oliver looked at Laurel. "I'll talk to him."
"Ask him if he knows anything about the vigilantes," Laurel told him. "Roy has obviously forged some sort of connection to them. Maybe it goes both ways."
"Don't sound like the vigilantes to have a groupie," Oliver told her.
"That's just it," Laurel told him. "We don't know anything about the vigilantes. Except for every time that they show up, all hell breaks loose. It has to stop, Ollie. They have to be stopped."
Laurel walked away.
Oliver walked toward Roy, Skylar and Thea. "Sky, Thea, can you ask Mr. Diggle to bring the car around, please?"
Skylar looked at the serious look at Oliver's face, turning to place a hand on Roy's shoulder. "I'll always think of you fondly."
Skylar walked away.
Thea sighed, following her.
Roy held his hand toward Oliver. "Save the speeches. Your ex-girlfriend already laid one on me. Still, no effect."
"I used to be a lot like you, Roy," Oliver told him.
"I doubt that," Roy told him. "I spend more time in the back of cop cars than limos, so..."
Roy started to walk away.
Oliver grabbed his arm to stop him, turning to face him. "The world doesn't work anymore. It broke a long time ago, but it was like you were the only one who noticed. That makes you angry." He let go. "And you're afraid that that anger is going to burn you up inside if you have to live in the world one second longer knowing that you could do something to fix it. That anger's going to put you in the hospital, kid. Or worse."
Roy nodded. "Well, I'll take worse." Oliver looked at him in confusion. "It's better to be dead than in a hospital these days, right?"
"What do you mean?" Oliver asked.
"Been to the Glades Memorial lately?" Roy asked.
"No," Oliver answered. "But I didn't read that it was damaged by the quake."
"It wasn't," Roy told him. "The medicine that FEMA's been sending the hospital is being hijacked. So, if they don't re-supply, the'll be forced to close."
"By who?" Oliver asked.
"I don't know," Roy told him. "The doctors and nurses are already bailing on the place. And the cops? The cops rarely venture that deep into the Glades. So I guess that leaves only me. What's it take to make you angry?"
Roy scoffed, walking away, leaving.
Oliver looked down, thinking.

Flashback
Night - Lian Yu - Woods
Oliver was looking at the blood on his hands from when he had smashed a man's head in with a rock.
Shado, Slade and Jill were nearby.
Oliver walked away, sitting down.
"Others will come," Shado told them. "They won't be happy we killed their men."
"All the more reason to figure out why they're here," Slade told them, taking a paper out of Man 1's jacket. "It's a map of the island chain, containing Lian Yu. This is similar to the recon shots that ASIS gave me before I came here to rescue your father. Whatever they're looking for, it must be here, on this island." Jill was watching Oliver. "I've seen men in war with that look in their eyes."
"What look?" Jill asked.
"The one that says he's split into someone else," Slade answered. He sighed. "Someone he doesn't even recognize. If someone doesn't talk to him, it'll tear him up."
Jill walked toward Oliver, walking around him to look him in the eyes, taking his hands in hers, not minding the blood. "Come on. Let's get away from this place."
Oliver slowly nodded.
➣
Now
Day Two
Morning - Glades Memorial - Hallway
Oliver and Jill were in the hospital in the Glades, looking at everyone inside.
"They survived the quake and ended up here," Jill told him. "From one hell to the next."
"Yeah, whoever's stealing from here, they won't be for much longer," Oliver told her.
They walked along.
They heard a man's voice. "This hospital is in danger of becoming an oversized morgue."
They walked toward the door, seeing a man outside giving an interview with the press.
"Who's that in the spotlight?" Oliver asked.
"Sebastian Blood, the local alderman that I told you about," Jill answered. "Not too shy about sharing his opinions."
"Which are?" Oliver asked.
"Which are that the Glades have been abandoned," Jill answered. "And no one gives a damn about these people."
"He hasn't met us yet," Oliver told her.
They walked outside.
➣
Outside
Sebastian looked around at the press. "We cannot stand by while the doctors on the other side of those doors are working with the bare minimum of resources because the police department already sees us as a lost cause. Meanwhile, thieves are seeking to make a quick buck off the misery of the Glades." He noticed Oliver and Jill by the door. "Oliver Queen and Jillian Wright."
"Alderman," Jill told him.
"What brings you to Glades Memorial?" Sebastian asked. "I assume someone of your means can afford the best medical treatment money can buy. And I can assure you, you're not going to find that here."
"That's wrong, sir," Jill told him. "The people of the Glades have suffered too much not to have access to basic medical services."
Sebastian walked closer. "Well, that's very compassionate of you to say. Although, I wonder where your friend's family's concern for its fellow citizens was when they ordered the construction of the earthquake machine that killed 503 people." People started to yell. "Ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen, please."
"I will be doing everything in my power to atone for my family's culpability in this tragedy," Oliver told them.
"Well, I'm sure the people of the Glades that I represent will sleep better knowing that," Sebastian told them. "If they still had a place to sleep. If their homes hadn't crumbled around them. If their stores and their businesses hadn't been condemned."
A man looked at Oliver. "You did this to us!"
"Go back to your mansion, rich boy," a woman told him.
"Spare us your mercy visits," a man told them. "You've done enough for this city already."
Oliver and Jill walked toward their car, getting inside.
Oliver started to drive them away.
A man broke Oliver's window.

Queen Consolidated - Oliver's Office
Oliver and Jill met up with Justin, John and Felicity in the office.
"I quit," Jill told them.
"No, you don't," Oliver told her.
"Yes, I do," Jill told him, looking down at her business office attire outfit that she was wearing. "I am not wearing another Felicity outfit."
"What's wrong with my outfits?" Felicity asked. "Never mind, they're probably too girly and soft for you."
Justin smirked. "Or maybe it's just too colorful. Since the only color that Jill really wears other than black, beige or gray is blue."
John smirked.
Jill gave Justin and Felicity a look, before looking at Oliver. "I'm not quitting Verdant, but my new job as your executive assistant, which you think I'm going to accept. Your thinking could not be more wrong in this matter."
"I need a girl Wednesday," Oliver told her.
"It's... Friday, and the answer is no," Jill told him. "Find someone else to do your dirty work."
Oliver turned to look at Jill. "I--"
Jill shook her head. "No."
Justin, Felicity and John were enjoying this, as it was funny for seemingly no reason to see Jill so comedically adamant against this, and Oliver trying to talk her into it, bickering like a married couple.
"Jill..." Oliver trailed off.
"I don't know how to work in a career of business, Oliver," Jill told him.
"You don't have to," Oliver told her. "All you gotta do is follow instructions. Which isn't something that you're used to doing."
Jill gave Oliver a look. "Look who's talking."
Felicity looked down with a suppressed, amused grin.
Justin and John exchanged an amused smirk.
Oliver tilted his head, turning to the computers. "These computers have been upgraded. Far more processing power than your typical secretary."
Oliver walked away.
Jill followed him. "Did I mention that I didn't go for school for secretarial arts?"
Oliver turned to face her. "Jill. We all need to have secret identities now. If I am going to be Oliver Queen CEO, then I can't very well travel down to the bar at Verdant every time you and I need to discuss how we spend our nights."
"That's why there's this magical device that allows you to call people that are in other places in the city," Justin pointed out.
Jill gestured to Justin as she looked at Oliver.
Oliver gave Justin a look, shaking his head. "Justin?"
Justin pursed his lips together sheepishly. "Not helping."
"No," Oliver answered.
Justin nodded, looking away. "Okay."
John and Felicity watched warily in amusement.
"Justin's helping me," Jill replied. Justin smirked. Oliver gave Jill a look, which Jill returned. "I happen to know how to be a bartender, Oliver. I like pouring drinks for a living and not fetching people coffee."
"Well, it could be worse," John told her. "My secret identity is Oliver's black driver."
Justin shrugged. "I'm your bodyguard."
"I'm still the IT girl," Felicity told them.
Jill looked at Oliver skeptically. "So you want me to be your assistant?"
Oliver sat at his desk, looking at Jill imploringly. "Jill... please."
Jill sighed in frustration, not liking the idea, but knowing that they all had to be in the same building during the day so they could talk about the nights, as it was more logical than the alternative. "Fine."
"Thank you," Oliver told her. "Felicity, I need you to figure out how the hijackers are getting a line on the goods earmarked for Glades Memorial. If we know how they're picking their targets..."
"We'll know when and where to stop them," Justin finished.
"Got it," Felicity told them.
Jill looked at Oliver sarcastically. "So, I guess I'll be at my new desk. Would you like a cup of coffee?"
Oliver looked slightly amused. "You're not actually offering to get me a cup of coffee, are you?"
"Yeah, nope," Jill answered. "That won't be happening."
Jill turned around, walking toward the door.
Felicity smiled, walking with Jill to the door.
Justin and John shook their heads in amusement.
Oliver shook his head with slight amusement, turning the computer on to the news.
Man: (on news) "Last year when Oliver Queen and Jillian Wright returned to Starling City..." Jill stopped at the sound of her name, hesitating, backing away toward the computer and Oliver to look at the news. "They were met with flowers and well-wishes. However, today down at Glades Memorial, they were met with a far less cordial homecoming. The question is no longer, 'Where have you been?' Now it's, 'But what have you done for me lately?' Mr. Queen and Miss Wright were not available for comment."
Oliver and Jill exchanged a look.
➣
Flashback
Day - Lian Yu - River
Oliver was sitting at the river, washing his hands clean of blood.
Jill walked closer. "You saved Shado."
"That's what I keep telling myself," Oliver told her. "That I killed that guy because he was going to kill my friend. But what if that's not the reason? I just feel like this island is... it's turning me into something terrible."
Jill looked at him for a moment, reaching down to gather water in her hands, cleaning the blood off his forehead. "No island, no place can make you something you're not."
"So I've always been a killer?" Oliver asked.
Jill looked down. "Everyone has a demon inside of them." She looked up. "My dad used to tell me stories about the ying and the yang, opposing forces inside all of us. The darkness. And the light. The killer. And the hero."
Jill and Oliver looked at each other for a long moment, looking as if they were about to kiss when they heard approaching footsteps, looking toward the noise.
➣
Now
Day - Verdant - Foundry
Felicity, Jill, Oliver, Justin and John were in the foundry in the basement of Verdant.
"What do you have?" Oliver asked.
"FEMA is shipping 100,000 units of medical grade opiates to Glade Memorial," Felicity told them.
"When?" Justin asked.
"Truck is scheduled to leave the FEMA depot in 20 minutes," Felicity told them.
"Not if this motorcycle gang has anything to say about it," John told them.
"Bad luck for them," Jill told them. She looked at the Sapphire suit in its glass case. "I have something to say about it."
Jill walked toward the case where her suit was set up next to Oliver's.
➣
Jill / Sapphire:
Night - Warehouse District
Men working for FEMA were putting the medicine in the truck.
Bikers drove inside, shooting down the men, walking toward a man.
"No, no, no, please, please don't shoot," the man told them.
Jill/Sapphire came up from behind the two motorcyclists, flipping them both down to the ground.
Oliver/Arrow helped the man stand. "Make your delivery."
The man got into the truck.
A knife was thrown into his throat, killing him.
Jill turned around to face China White.
"The girl in blue," China told her. "I had feared you had perished in the quake, denying me the opportunity to pay you back in full for your past interference in my business."
"Your business is going under," Oliver told her. "Permanently."
Ben Turner / Bronze Tiger jumped down from the truck in front of Oliver.
Oliver shot at him.
Ben slashed the arrow to pieces with metal claws.
"I don't think my friend agrees with you," China told them. "Our new partnership was easily cemented. See, I was eager to see you both dead, and he was eager to kill you."
"Now that you lost the twins, you need three more to do your dirty work?" Oliver asked.
China smirked. "At least they listen better than Kira and Karma did."
Oliver continued to shoot at Ben.
Ben continued to slash the arrows apart. "No kill shots? I was promised a fight. I hope you haven't lost your nerve."
"Find out," Oliver told him.
Jill turned to China, kicking her in the stomach, punching her in the face. China grabbed onto her shoulders to knee her in the stomach. China tried to slash into Jill with a knife. Jill raised her knife to block the move, punching her in the face. China spun to try and kick her. Jill ducked, spinning to kick China back into the truck.
Ben tried to slash into Oliver with his man made claws. Oliver raised his bow to block the move. Ben continued to try and slash into him. Oliver continued to use his bow to block the moves, spinning to kick him in the head. Ben cornered Oliver back into the alley, continuing to slash toward him.
Police cars drove closer.
Cops got out of their cars, surrounding the four fighters.
"Starling City police!" an officer told them. "You're surrounded. Put down your weapons or we will open fire." Laurel was with the police. Oliver and Jill exchanged a look, nodding, running. "Open fire!" The police opened fire. Oliver, Jill, Ben and China ran away as fast as they could. Jill was shot in the ankle, nearly making her fall. Oliver caught onto Jill, holding her against his chest, shooting a claw up to the building above, using it to raise them both up to the building to get away. They sat on the rooftop, looking down. Ben and China seemed to have disappeared. "Cease fire, cease fire! Find them."
Oliver and Jill exchanged a look.
➣ ➣
Verdant - Foundry
Jill was sitting in normal clothes.
Oliver was stitching the bullet wound in her ankle closed.
Felicity, Justin and John were watching.
Felicity looked disconcerted with the blood and the wound. "Does it hurt?"
Jill sighed. "Not as much as some things."
"I love that we live in a city where the police are more interested in catching the two of you than the drug-stealing mobsters," Felicity told them sarcastically. "Our tax dollars at work."
"The authorities have always gone after the vigilantes," John told them.
"This time was different," Oliver told them.
"Why, because this time it's Laurel leading the charge?" Justin asked.
"Because they got in our way," Oliver answered. "I can't make things better as Oliver Queen, and now I can't make things better as the hood. So what if Laurel was involved?"
"Hey, go easy on him," Felicity told him.
"It's all right, Felicity," Justin told her.
"No, it's not," Felicity told him. She looked at Oliver. "You don't get to jump down my brother's throat just because you happen to be having a lousy week. Okay, you're pissed that the police shot at you and your almost-girlfriend over there, got both of you hurt, and you don't even realize that Justin is risking himself getting way more hurt than both of you combined by working with you."
Justin stood. "Felicity, don't."
Jill frowned in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about the fact that Justin has a medical condition of the heart called an aortic aneurysm," Felicity answered.
Justin sighed in frustration. "Damn it, Felicity."
"What the hell's an aortic aneurysm?" John asked.
"It's an enlargement of the main blood vessel that delivers blood to the human body, at the level of the abdomen, attached to his heart," Felicity answered. "The vessel can rupture at any time, and yet he does all of this for you, for everyone. He works for you." She looked at John. "He went after Deadshot with you, and nearly got himself killed." She looked Jill. "He's you're so-called bodyguard." She looked at Oliver. "He trains your baby sister to defend herself and works for the police as a consultant."
"Felicity!" Justin told her.
"They need to hear this," Felicity told him. "They need to know."
John looked at Justin in confusion. "Why didn't you tell us?"
"Because of the looks you're all giving me right now," Justin answered. "Why do you think I can't be apart of the military anymore? Look, it doesn't change anything. I can still do the things that you can, John. And what my sister forgot to mention is that the vessel can burst even when I'm sleeping. At least with what I'm doing now, I can make a difference with the life that I have. See? You're not the only one having trouble reconciling two sides of himself, Oliver."
Justin walked out, leaving.
Oliver, Jill and John were left completely stunned.
➣
Upstairs
Roy was sweeping the floor after closing.
Thea walked closer.
"Great crowd tonight," Roy told her.
"Now that we're closed, are you going to be starting your second shift?" Thea asked. "Suicide by Chinese street thugs."
"Do you really want to talk about this again?" Roy asked.
"We never finished talking about it," Thea told him. "I wanted Laurel to arrest you."
Roy looked at her to see that she was serious, scoffing. "You know, you're not the first girlfriend to say that to me."
Thea sighed. "She said I couldn't change you, so I'm not going to try to."
Thea handed Roy a check and the arrowhead hozen that Oliver had made for her.
"What, so you're giving me money and a rock?" Roy asked.
"The check is two weeks' severance from the club," Thea told him. "Just because I can't change you doesn't mean I have to let you be in my life until you get yourself killed." Roy scoffed, looking away. Thea showed him the arrowhead hozen. "My brother gave me that when he came back from the dead. He gave my sister a hozen, some Buddhist thing that symbolizes reconnecting. He made that out to symbolize the hozen and gave it to me. If you want to reconnect with me, keep the hozen and tear up that check."
"I don't do too well with ultimatums," Roy told her.
"And I don't do all that great with people I love getting hurt," Thea told him. "And worse."
Thea walked away, leaving.
Roy sighed heavily in regret.

Day Three
Morning - Queen Consolidated - Oliver's Office
Oliver was in his office.
Jill walked closer, limping only slightly on the ankle that had been shot. "Your 4:00 is here." She looked over her shoulder toward where Sebastian was waiting. "Although, I'm not entirely sure why you invited him up to your office."
Oliver stood, walking closer. "Because I need to fix this situation, and there are no cameras or people to throw things at me in here." Jill turned to the door, gesturing for Sebastian to walk inside. Sebastian walked in. "Alderman. Thank you for coming."
"Mr. Queen," Sebastian told him. He looked at Jill. "Miss Wright." He looked around the office. "This is some view." He walked toward the wall of windows. "How small the rest of us must all look from up here."
"Jill?" Oliver asked.
"Yes?" Jill asked.
Oliver smirked. "Would you get my guest and I some coffee?"
Jill gave him a sarcastic look. "You know, I would, Oliver, but it seems that someone's broken our coffeemaker. Violently."
Oliver tried to hide his amusement.
Sebastian turned to face them. "I was surprised that you wanted to meet."
"As surprised as we were when you turned a frenzied mob on the two of us?" Jill asked, taking a seat.
"Oh, that shouldn't have been too surprising," Sebastian told her. "My constituents have a lot of anger toward the Queen family and their known family friends, like you, Miss Wright."
"They have a right to be angry at my family," Oliver told him. Oliver and Sebastian took a seat. "My mother was involved in something... unspeakable. But I'm my own man. Just as Jill didn't have any ties to the Undertaking. We're not the enemy."
"You're not friend," Sebastian replied. "To me, or the people of the Glades."
"I am hoping to prove otherwise," Oliver told him, taking out a checkbook.
Sebastian leaned forward. "Mr. Queen, not every problem can be solved by money. Real change will never happen until your elitist friends realize that it is morally unacceptable to allow thousands of its fellow citizens to live right down the street but in a third world."
"Then let's show them," Oliver told them. "I'll host a benefit." He looked at Jill. "Invite some of my 'elitist friends', and then we can help them see what needs to be done."
Sebastian sat back. "People seeing you... seeing you stand up, the CEO of Queen Consolidated, taking responsibility and being this cause's public face. That would make a difference."
Oliver stood. "Then let's make a difference."
Oliver offered his hand to Sebastian.
Sebastian smirked, standing, shaking Oliver's hand.
Jill smiled a small smile.
Sebastian looked between them. "Listen. I am truly sorry for what happened outside that hospital. Sometimes my emotions get the better of me."
Sebastian walked out, leaving.
Jill stood, turning to Oliver. "Who says you can't make a difference as Oliver Queen?"
Oliver chuckled.

Flashback
Day - Lian Yu - River
Jill and Oliver were still by the river, looking in the direction where the approaching footsteps had been.
Shado and Slade walked closer.
"Hey," Shado told them.
"Hey," Oliver told them. "Just washing up."
"Well, you better prepare to get dirty again," Slade told them. "I think we figured out where those men were headed. It's a couple of clicks northwest of here."
Jill nodded in understanding.
"Well, let's go," Shado told them.
They walked toward the woods.
➣
Woods
Oliver, Slade, Jill and Shado were walking.
"Be careful," Shado told them.
Oliver and Slade were walking further ahead than the girls.
"I see the way you look at her, kid," Slade told him. "Jill. Don't fall too hard."
"Why not?" Oliver asked. "To make sure there isn't part of this island that doesn't totally suck?"
Slade smirked in amusement. "To survive. She's a distraction, and in a place like this, a distraction's going to cloud your judgment. And that is what's going to get you killed. Look at what this island had already done to you, kid."
They continued to walk.
➣
Now
Day - District Attorney's Office
Laurel was working.
Jessica walked in. "Hey, Laurel. I figured that we should talk."
Laurel turned to face her. "Fine. What do you want to talk about? And don't tell me that it's about the vigilantes."
Jessica walked closer. "It is. They're not our enemies. Why don't you understand that?"
"I understand that they're criminals," Laurel told her. "And they think the law doesn't apply to them. It does."
"But you didn't always feel that way," Jessica told her. "You used to think that they were helping the people in this city."
"They didn't help Tommy," Laurel told her. "They were too busy fighting a meaningless duel with Malcolm Merlyn. And when people needed help, they weren't there."
"How can you even say that it was meaningless?" Jessica asked. "Malcolm Merlyn destroyed the Glades, and they were trying to find a way to stop it, just like I was. You want to find someone, anyone to blame for Tommy's death, and you can't blame Malcolm because he's dead, so you decide to blame the vigilantes when all they have been trying to do is save this city. You think that getting them unmasked, prosecuted and sent to prison will undo all of the horror? It won't, Laurel. It won't bring Tommy back. You can't blame them for something that they didn't do. Something that happened that wasn't because of them. Maybe you're not ready to hear it, and you're not ready to accept it, but deep down, you know that's the truth."
Jessica walked away, leaving.
Laurel started to cry, angry and hurt, shaking her head.

Queen Consolidated - Benefit Party
(Song:) Bright Lights - Aaron David Gleason
Everyone was dressed nicely.
Jessica was apart of the benefit, looking around.
Sebastian walked toward her. "You look like a woman who's looking for someone."
"Friend of mine," Jessica told him. "He's throwing this benefit."
Sebastian nodded. "Ah. Oliver Queen. Didn't realize you were friends."
"Oliver and Jill Wright," Jessica told him. "So you can imagine how I feel about you putting them in the crosshairs of public opinion, alderman."
"For what it's worth, I've apologized to both of them for my rhetorical excesses," Sebastian told her. "In fact, it is that detente which brings us all here tonight."
Jessica looked around. "So where are they?"
"That's exactly the question I'm asking myself," Sebastian told her.
Jessica took a drink of wine.
➣
Elevator
Jill and Oliver were in an elevator at the Queen Consolidated building, dressed for the benefit.
Oliver checked his watch. "We're late."
"The good news is, at least you get to make a dramatic entrance," Jill told him.
"Oh, I'm just lucky Oliver Queen has a reputation for not showing up on time," Oliver told her.
"You know, I've been meaning to tell you that it really weirds me out the way you refer to yourself in the third person like that," Jill told him.
Oliver tilted his head. His phone rang, taking it out. "It's Felicity." They walked into the party. Oliver answered his phone. "Tell me."
"I've got good news and bad news," Felicity told him. She was in the basement of Verdant with Justin and John. "I hacked into FEMA's server, yet another federal offense, thank you very much, and was able to find out when the next shipment of pharmaceuticals is taking place."
"When?" Oliver asked.
"That's the bad news," Felicity told him. "Five minutes ago. I know this is the definition of sucky timing, but... which suit are you planning on wearing tonight?"
Oliver hung up in frustration, turning to Jill.
"You stay," Jill told him. "I'll go."
➣
Benefit
Jessica and Sebastian were still talking.
"Doesn't seem Mr. Queen or Miss Wright are going to honor us with their presence this evening," Sebastian told her.
Oliver walked in. "Oh, that's where you're wrong."
"Oliver," Jessica told him.
"Hey, Jessica," Oliver told her. They kissed each other on the cheek. "Glad you could make it. I'm sad to say that Jill couldn't. My sisters had an emergency that they needed another woman for instead of their brother."
Sebastian nodded. "Teenage girls."
"You have no idea," Oliver told him. He walked up to the mic to address his guests. "Ladies and gentlemen." There was cheers and applause. "Thank you, thank you. I know what most of you are thinking. That my idea for this evening's charity is just a way for the Queen family to get into the good graces of the city again."

Verdant - Foundry
Jill was getting suited up.
Oliver: (voice over) "I'm just trying to help. We all are."
➣
Queen Consolidated - Benefit
Oliver spoke to his guests. "An alderman told me that this city's problems cannot be solved with my money. That I needed to stand up to be counted as someone who cares."
➣
Starling City Police Department
Police were gathered.
Laurel was talking with Lance.
Oliver: (voice over) "And I do care."
A man walked closer. "Detective Lance. We got a vigilante sighting, heading down Lemire Avenue."
"I promise you, they will not go down without a fight," Laurel told them.
"Let's go!" Lance told them.
The anti-vigilante task force walked out, leaving.
➣
Queen Consolidated - Benefit
Jessica stood in the crowd, watching Oliver give his speech.
"I'm sorry for what my family has done," Oliver told them. "All I'm trying to do is find a way to make amends. Like my sister, Skylar, going into the Glades at night, cleaning up the streets when no one else is. She's just trying to help. Just like me."
Jessica smiled a small smile.
➣
On the Road
The FEMA truck drove down the road.
Oliver: (voice over) "This city is dying."
The two bikers followed the truck.

Jill / Sapphire:
Warehouse District
The motorcyclists maneuvered the truck into the warehouse district.
Jill/Sapphire was driving her own motorcycle after them. She came up to the truck, the motorcyclists, Ben Turner and China White, throwing a knife into the motorcyclist that tried to get into the truck, driving her bike right toward China and Ben.
China and Ben dove out of the way of the bike, standing.
China looked at the motorcyclists. "Go!" She looked at Ben. "Told you. On time to die."
Jill got off her bike, turning to them.
"Where's your friend?" Ben asked.
"He's a little busy at the moment," Jill told them. She drew her swords from the sheaths on her back, spinning them in her grip. "Looks like it's just me."
➣ ➣
On the Road
Several police officers were driving toward the supposed location, speaking through radio.
"Closing in on the girl in blue," a detective told them.
They pulled over at the supposed location.
Lance got out of the car, looking around. "This doesn't make any sense."
A man walked toward Lance to show his a video on a tablet. "This is supposed to be live surveillance."
They saw Jill/Sapphire and Oliver/Arrow driving on a motorcycle on the video.
Lance pointed at a building. "What the hell is this building doing here?" He gestured to the destroyed building. "It was destroyed in the quake."
➣
Verdant - Foundry
Felicity was sitting at the computers, typing away.
They heard Lance's voice through the security footage. "Who in the hell could be feeding us year-old surveillance?"
Felicity smiled smugly.

Warehouse District
The fight between Jill/Sapphire, Ben/Bronze Tiger and China started.

Justin turned around, throwing Biker 2 into the trashcan.
"Health care has enough problems without you punks," John told them.
John and Justin got into the truck to drive away.
The bikers got onto the back of the truck to tag along.
Jill spun her sword to slash against Ben's claws, making him back away, spinning to kick China in the head. China tried to kick Jill in the head. Jill raised her sword to block the move. Oliver/Arrow arrived behind Ben, using his bow to hit him in the head, making him let go of Jill's arm. "She didn't."
Jill flipped Ben to the ground, picking up her swords.
Ben ran away through crates. Oliver chased after him.
Jill turned to face China. China punched Jill in the face, grabbing onto her swords to flip her through the air. Jill landed on her feet, slashing toward China. China ducked, spinning closer to Jill to elbow her in the face, trying to slash into her with knives. Jill/Sapphire stood in front of her.
Oliver/Arrow walked closer.
"You've changed," China told them. "You would have killed me by now if you hadn't."
Oliver spoke into Jill's ear so China wouldn't hear. "John and Justin got the shipment delivered." He looked at China. "The police will decide how to deal with you and your friend."
"They still won't see either of you as anything more than their enemies," China told them. They heard sirens in the distance. "You'll never be anything but criminals to them. Which means you'll never be heroes."
"A long as this city is safe, it doesn't matter," Jill told her.
Oliver and Jill walked away, leaving.

Verdant - Foundry
Felicity was sitting at the desk.
Justin walked in.
Felicity stood. "How did it go?"
"Got the medicines delivered, me and Dig," Justin answered. "We even got into a fight. Something that I could take care of."
Justin gave Felicity a look.
Felicity sighed, looking at him sheepishly. "I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have snapped at them like that, but they needed to know."
"I'm not worried about it, Felicity," Justin told her.
"You're not?" Felicity asked in surprise.
"No," Justin answered. "You're right. They need to know. They were gonna learn one day anyway if I suddenly fell down from the vessel bursting."
Justin walked past her.
Felicity turned to face him, pointing at him. "Okay, that is so not funny."
Justin chuckled, turning to face her. "I know. I'm not mad. I'm not mad at you for telling them, and I'm not mad that they now know. I just didn't tell them because..."
"Because they would look at you differently," Felicity finished. "Because they would be worried about you constantly."
"And they have too much on their own plates already," Justin told her. "They're wrapped up in their own suffering, Felicity. They don't need to take on mine, too."
"I'm sorry, Justin," Felicity told him.
Justin walked closer. "It's okay."
They embraced, sighing.

Queen Consolidated - Oliver's Office
Oliver and Jill were in Oliver's office, watching the news.
Woman: (on TV) "After a prolonged pursuit, police have arrested China White, a high-ranking member of the local Chinese Triad, which was responsible for the recent hijackings of pharmaceuticals bound for Glades Memorial. Representatives praise the efforts of the SCPD in saving the hospital from shutting down, though some sources say the vigilantes may have been involved. In other news, protests continue in..."
Oliver looked at Jill. "'May have been'? Who else could've stopped China White and Ben Turner?"
Jill chuckled, shaking her head. "Don't ask me. So, how did the benefit go?"
"Well, went great until I had to bail because you needed my help," Oliver answered.
"No, I'm glad you went to the benefit, Oliver," Jill told him. "You needed to be there. The people of this city need to see that you care. That you're willing to do anything to help them. And not just as the vigilante. You're more than that. Now all you gotta do is show them that."
Oliver took her words seriously, looking at Jill in appreciation, nodding in thanks.
Jill smiled a small smile, walking away.

Flashback
Day - Lian Yu - Woods
Shado, Slade, Oliver and Jill were walking through the forest, reaching a boulder in the middle of the woods.
Slade looked at the picture of the same spot they were in. "To those men, this location could have been on any one of 150 different islands. But for somebody who knows this island like he knows his own name..."
"So, those men were looking for this place," Shado told them. "Why?"
"That would be the question," Slade told them.
Oliver found something down the hill. "Over here."
Slade, Shado and Jill walked toward Oliver.
They looked down the hill toward a cave.
Slade drew a knife, leading the way inside.
➣
Cave
Slade, Shado, Jill and Oliver walked inside, finding bones inside.
"What happened to these people?" Jill asked.
"Whatever did happen to them was over 60 years ago," Slade told them. "These soldiers belong to the Japanese imperial army."
"They've been here since World War II," Shado told them.
"We're missing something here," Slade told them. Oliver found the hozen that he had given Skylar on the head on a skeleton's necklace. "You don't just come here for corpses."
Oliver picked up the hozen.

Night - Verdant - Outside - Alley
Roy was walking in the alley with a box. He heard something behind him, taking a knife from his pocket, turning around, throwing it toward the person behind him.
Jill/Sapphire stood there. She caught the knife before it impaled her face.
Roy was in shock. "I've been looking for you. You and the hood."
Jill disguised her voice. "You need to stop."
"Your friend saved my life," Roy told her. "You saved my girlfriend's. Made me realize my life... wasn't much of a life. But I could do what others couldn't, or too afraid to do. I could help you save the city."
"You're untrained," Jill told him.
"I can fight," Roy told her.
"You can take a beating," Jill corrected. "There's a difference."
"Then teach me," Roy told her. "Let me help you."
Jill stepped closer, but kept her distance. "Okay. You can help. But not by taking on the Triad or the cops."
"Then how?" Roy asked.
"To do what we do, we need intel," Jill told him. "You can be eyes and ears in the Glades. That's how you can save the city."
"How do I contact you?" Roy asked.
Jill tossed the her knife to the his feet. "Leave that in the alley wall. Then I'll know to contact you."
Jill turned around.
Roy knelt to pick up the knife. "Are you sure it's all right that I keep this?"
Roy looked up, realizing that Jill was already gone, smiling in amusement, chuckling, happy that he finally had a way to help.
➣
Inside
Skylar was at the bar, restocking bottles.
Thea was sitting down the way.
Roy approached her, putting the arrowhead hozen on the bar next to her. "If I want to be with you, do I keep that or give it back? You were a little unclear."
"You mean it?" Thea asked.
Roy nodded. "No more fighting. If it's a choice between life with you or life without you, life with you will win every single time." Skylar could hear them, looking toward them. "I'm done trying to be a hero." Roy looked toward Skylar. "I'll leave that to someone who knows how to fight better than I do without getting herself hurt every single time."
Skylar smiled in amusement, looking down.
Thea smiled, standing, kissing Roy sweetly, wrapping her arms around his neck.
➣
Alley
Jill/Sapphire walked toward Oliver/Arrow.
"You tell him the choice?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah," Jill answered. "And he understands. I think you should talk to your sister. Not as the Arrow, but as you. She can get herself hurt, and I don't want to see that happen anymore than I want to see him get hurt."
Oliver nodded in agreement.
They heard something around them, turning around.
Three entire SWAT teams and police walked closer, aiming their guns at Oliver and Jill, including Lance.
Laurel walked closer.
Oliver aimed his bow and arrow around them.
Jill looked around.
They both disguised their voices.
"And here I thought you would all think differently after we stopped the men terrorizing our city," Oliver told them.
"This isn't your city," Laurel told them. "It's your killing field."
"The copycats are still alive," Jill told them.
"Tommy Merlyn isn't," Laurel told them.
"We both lost a friend that day, too," Jill told them. "And we would gladly have given our lives for his."
"Well, don't worry," Laurel told them. "Your lives are over. Your lives as free people."
Jill and Oliver looked around with their weapons raised, looking over their heads to find somewhere to shoot a crossbow or regular bow claw into, but there wasn't anywhere. They were trapped.
