Yuuki's POV

I know I fake my bravery and all but, this time I couldn't muster up a bit of it. My health had gotten a lot better so Calvin suggested we meet his parents. I honestly almost fainted when I heard this. It's feels so cliche to be scared when meeting your boyfriend's parents but, it felt kinda real now. Calvin drove us to his house. I wore my best dress to this. I wanted to leave a good impression on them so I did my best with my hair and light makeup.

"Are you scared Yuuki? Your looking a bit pale."

"Yeah..I mean I'm finally getting to meet your parents but, at the same time we are of different races so I don't know how they will react"

"Well don't worry. I'm sure they'll understand"

"I hope so"

"I know so. Shall we go in now?"

"Y-yeah sure." Calvin leads me into his house.

"Mumme!, Puppa! I'm home"

"Just a second Monne" Calvin's mom calls out

"Mon..neh?" I ask Calvin.

"It means son in indian"

"Ah, who is this?" a man asks walking down the stairs. He was quite big and had a furry mustache. He was wearing a T-shirt and a sort of towel that went around his waist to his feet.

"Puppa this is Yuuki. The girl I was talking about-from the hospital?"

"Nice to finally meet you. I'm Sijan, Calvin's father." I greet and shake his hand.

"Monne? Is that Yuuki?"

"Yeah, I wanted to introduce her to. You guys." A woman with a paler skin tone compared to Sijan walks into the main room. She wore a long silk dress which Calvin told me was called a sari. She had her hair tied back in a bun. "Sorry I was cooking. Hello I'm Devi, Calvin's mom. Nice to meet you Yuuki."

"Nice to meet you too"

"Cha-chan! Calvin Cha-chan!" Two girls run into the living room. They run into Calvin's arms.

"Got you. Haha, miss me?"

"Nope" one of them sting.

"You smell" the other blurts out.

"You little jokesters." He tickles them both. I watch as they laugh all together. It reminded me of the good times I had with my parents. Seeing Calvin's family together made me feel..."

"Yuuki?" Calvin asks me. "Are you okay? Your crying"

"Am I? Oh sorry" I say wiping the tears. "It's nothing- it's just seeing all of your together make me..."

"Oh you poor thing" Calvin's mother says hugging me. "Now now, no need to cry. Calvin told us about how your parents fought against the AIDS"

"And you fought very well. You even found a boyfriend who cared you through it all" Calvin's father adds in.

"Maybe we can be your family now" says one of Calvin's sister.

"All you have to do is marry him" says the other.

"What?! Slow down Liya. I never thought that far"

"Well you should. That way Yuuki can be our sister" the other sister adds in.

"Leena" Calvin whines. I giggle a little.

"Thank you, Calvin's family. You have an amazing son and I can see why. He has an amazing family to live with"

"Well since your here let's have a family to girlfriend talk shall we?" Devi begins. "Oh Calvin check the stove. I left the tea boiling"

"Kay." As Calvin goes for the tea everyone else made me feel at home. They brought me over to a couch and one by one asked questions about my life and family. Calvin's sister began working on some type of paper craft saying it was a secret.

"You know as much as our tradition rejects us indians falling in love with other cultures, I'll make an exception for you" says Sijan.

"You've been through so much and love is love. We can mess around the system a little" Calvin's mom adds in.

"Thank you. For this and understanding my situation." Soon Calvin brings over the tea.

"You know what's funny? In the indian tradition, the soon-to-be wife brings over the tea for the soon-to-be husband" Calvin jokes.

"Your still going with that?" I taunt.

"Well everyone's okay with it, so why not...honey." I give him a quick jostle before sipping the cup of tea. "Yuuki chechi, look at this." The two sisters bring over a paper lotus they had made.

"This is so beautiful. Um what does che chee mean?"

"It means sister. It's a respectful way to a new girl family member"

"Oh, no need to call me that. Just Yuuki is fine"

"Okay Yuuki...Chechi." The two sister laugh and give me a hug.

"Oh you two are such a handful" I say laughing with them. We talked the hours away and when ever I remembered something sad Calvin's family was there to comfort me. The evening soon came by and Calvin's mother suggested I stay for dinner.

"I hope you like curry. I wasn't expecting a visitor so I had this cooking"

"No it's okay. I actually started liking curry." Everyone joined as we ate rice and curry together. It did feel a bit awkward when I noticed everyone eating with their hand instead of a spoon. After dinner I spent some time playing with Calvin's sisters. We braided each other's hair and they even taught me some paper crafts. Night had soon fallen.

"Calvin, shouldn't we go back to the hospital?"

"I asked Kurahashi. He said you can stay here for a night. Your health got a lot better so he's laying off a bit"

"Really? That's great! But I don't have my sleeping clothes"

"I think my mom can spare her old nightgown." Everyone soon gets to bed. Calvin's parents suggested I sleep with the sisters. I guess they were a bit suspicious about us being in the same room and stuff. The lights we off and the open door provided some light.

"So how is dating our brother like?" Leena asks.

"I think your a bit young for that"

"Aw tell us anyways please?" Liya pleads.

"Fine, it's nice. He's so kind and smart"

"And funny right?"

"Yeah, he's funny"

"So how did you guys fall in love?"

"Well...I asked him if we can go on a date and we did. That went well and then if kinda went off like that"

"Why did you ask to go on a date?"

"Well, I had AIDS before all this happened. I thought 'since I didn't have long to live, I should make up for it' and so I asked Calvin to a date"

"But, you're all better right?"

"Yeah, it's a miracle but Calvin's blood with special medications did the trick and it cured me." The door suddenly opened. Liya and Leena squeal in fear.

"It's night time. Time for sleep." It was Calvin's father.

"Okay Papa" Leena and Liya call out from under the blankets.

"Sorry Mr. Abraham" I apologize.

"That's okay. Now not a noise. Everyone has to get to sleep." He leaves us closing the door half way. I close my eyes and go to sleep. Don't want to bother him again.

A/n: I actually based this chapter off a real life event. A few years ago, my family went to a cousins house and a similar scene happened with the two cousins, me and my sister. It was fun so it was quite nice to reference it here.
