Chapter 40
Sebastian
I have spent the last six days when I could with Ava and it has been magical. After my long days at the various hotels, we have had romantic meals, strolls through the old towns holding hands and enjoying each other's company. Only I know in four more days she will be deciding to go back home or to another destination. She hasn't committed yet and I don't want to pry too much. I have no hold over her and I know I shouldn't even have been trying to get her to want to stay with me. Only I already know I am going to feel lost without her.
At night we have been passionate and she has brought out a side of me that I didn't really know existed. I love it when she is open and ready for me and commands me to thrust myself deep inside her. She is sexy, beautiful and a woman driven by insane lust as am I driven by her insatiable need for me. Ava has told me she has never been like this with any other man before and I believe her.
I'm not going to lie I am a little jealous of the time she spent with Mark. He got to see her grow into the beautiful sassy woman that she is today. They shared their first kiss, their first love making, their first movie, their first holiday. So many firsts. I wish all her firsts had been with me. I sigh as I listen to the new manager of our hotel in Zaragoza tell me about some refurbishments that are now complete.
"If you would like to see the master suites, I'd be happy to show them to you." Mia is the hotel manager and has been with us for twenty years, she started out as the receptionist at this very hotel. My father and I subsidized her training so she could go through college and study business to become the manager here. Her children now grown up work for our hotel too. We are a local employer of over three hundred staff. It fills me with gratitude that we are able to offer such stability to the locals.
"Of course. Thank you, Mia. How are the children?" I ask as I haven't seen them since I arrived. She leads the way along the marble outside corridor with arches to the left and pushes open a heavy wooden door.
"They're doing so well. I wonder where the years have gone, they're so grown up now. Lottie is already studying at college she intends to stay on here and Marco is working the gardens still. He is studying design and would like to have his own business. He's planning on having a team together to take care of the hotels around this area for you."
"Impressive. They're good children and of course, we'd definitely be open to have Marco be the lead on the gardens here in Zaragoza." We have this main hotel, a large imposing property with one hundred and fifty rooms. Except for six large suites with their own pools, the remainder of the rooms are all luxurious doubles. Each with a balcony offering stupendous views of the almond groves and mountains that dominate the skyline. Our smaller boutique hotel is in the heart of Zaragoza and has just twenty exclusive rooms.
"He could branch out and be in charge of some of the other regional hotels. We'll speak with him after his studies but I think it would be a good idea for him to start his business plan and present it to myself. I can have Isabella look over it and ensure we're ready for him when he is."
"Thank you so much, Sebastian. I can't tell you how grateful we are." I nod. I am not very good with open displays of gratitude, I am merely doing my part and ensuring that families have a decent salary and food on the table and wherever possible can remain together. Too many youngsters these days want to move away to the large cities, Barcelona, Madrid, London and so forth to earn big money. Nothing beats here, however. We have everything from the sea, mountains, almond and hazelnut trees to the rich culture of our history and people.
As I follow Mia my mind is back on Ava. I wonder if she is having a wonderful time milling around the old cobbled streets, taking her photos. She is good and I mean seriously good. She brings out so much that I can't see with my own eyes. There is a definite talent there and I know the book she is planning on publishing will do well. In any case, we will be buying copies for several rooms in our hotels. All of our hotels. I think back to last night as we laid in each others after three rounds of hot, smoldering sex. Her voice still in my ears.
"Fuck me Sebastian, like you've never fucked anyone before. Make me come until I can't come anymore." Her eyes dark with passion, her pussy waiting badly in need for me to fill her. The thought of it makes me stir in my trousers. Damn it. Thankfully Mia is too busy talking and gesturing to some of the work that has been done on the great hall as we enter into one of the most spectacular parts of the hotel. As with Malaga, this room is in rose marble, top to bottom with fine art hanging from the walls. The colours burst out at you. We have a domed ceiling which we commissioned to be painted gold on the outside with deep night blue covering the inner circle and golden stars. I could lay down here on the floor and stare up at it. When I show Ava it later she is going to love it. This makes me smile.
I don't want to think about after the hotel tour and my tens days with her are up. I will need to prepare for the Japan trip and I am burning to ask Ava to come with me. I know she has a life though and from the sound of her home town and her parents, it would be a pull to leave but maybe, just maybe she might consider taking time out of her life to spend travelling with me. She is like a drug that I am addicted to. Her luscious ready-to-kiss-me lips and take me to bed eyes call me every day and I can never wait until my hotel tour for the day is done so I can be back with her.
"Did you hear me?" Mia's voice floats to my ears. Shit. I didn't hear her I was so absorbed in my American Girl that I missed everything she just said.
"I said it's cost us nearly five-hundred thousand euro for the retouches in here. Are you happy with it?" I don't even bat an eyelid at the money, we can afford it and as far as my eye can see, everything looks perfect.
"It's perfect. I can imagine many guests like to stand in here for a time."
"Absolutely. They just stand and admire the art and the ceiling. We're happy with the new pictures. We have a few more coming and then this room will be complete. We don't want to overcrowd it." Mia claps her hands and off we go again, this time straight ahead of us and through another wooden door, only not as tall as the last one. We are led through to the large reception area. It's grand with a Gone With The Wind staircase. I have always loved this style and a lot of my hotels feature this very same style. You wouldn't think it, but as a child I used to love the movie, Rhett Butler inspired me and he got his woman. The feisty Scarlett O'Hara.
There are a few people milling around, the area is bustling with new arrivals, chatter fills the space and laughter. I love to see our guests being so excited to be here in our hotel and in our country. It is a magical place. Mia and I make our way towards the palatial stair case and begin our ascent. I allow my right hand to trail along the olive wood bannister, it is soft, warm and luxurious. We have spared no money on our hotels, we want our guests to feel like they are in the lap of luxury and to ensure their stay meets all their expectations. We have tour guides on hand, bikes, scooters and have drivers available for them if they want the full limousine treatment.
At the top of the stair case we turn left and walk down the plush red carpeted hallway with doors leading off to our sumptuous rooms. At the end are magnificent oak double doors. Mia slides the key into the lock and opens both doors taking us into the suite with its chaise lounge covered in peacock fabric, a writing desk of the finest wood and leather with matching chair. The balcony floor to ceiling doors are open but there is not much breeze since it is already thirty degrees outside. Mia makes her way to them and closes them and pushes the shutters against them to avoid more heat coming into the room. The chandelier above us floods the room with a golden glow.
"We redecorated, changed the shutters to plantation style and have added a larger screen television in here." I like what they have done, the duck egg blue walls bring out the white doors and shutters. It feels almost colonial and the dash of colour from the chaise lounge accentuates the room.
"I like it Mia. It is tasteful and keeps the style of the hotel well. The shutters are a nice touch. Very good." I say and stride into what is the master bedroom. This suite has a master plus two double rooms each with its own full bathroom and walk in showers all in brown marble with a white vein. It is soothing and cooling, much needed for our Spanish summers.
The shutters in the master room are already closed and it feels much cooler in here. There is of course a ceiling fan that doubles as a light. We do have air conditioning installed even though I am against it but it is a legal requirement. The king sized bed is dressed with a pale blue cover and cushions, the room is stark white and I find this relaxing and calming. Mia opens the shutter marginally and I take a step closer to look outside onto the wrap around balcony. The plants offer bursts of orange and purple color and the view to the mountains is second to none. It is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and breakfast. I close the shutter as I know we have guests coming later today and I don't want them to walk into a heated room.
"Still my favourite place to stay when I visit." I tell Mia and she smiles proudly. She has done an amazing job with managing this hotel and ensuring all the rooms are unique with the décor and style. Against the left wall is a small bookcase, all the books are color coordinated. It's a nice touch. Flowers stand in a crystal vase on the art-deco dressing table, white roses. Perfection.
"We hope you'll be staying with us again soon, Sebastian." She says. "We love having you around, it feels like our family here is complete." Mia is like a younger sister to me and I feel protective over her and love her. It is sad that she has no husband but the man who fathered her children was no match for Mia and left her when the children were still very young. I know she must take lovers occasionally but I have never seen her with a man when I've stayed here in Zaragoza.
"I will be back Mia. Currently I am travelling with a companion." She raises her eyebrows. "We fly this evening to Bilbao. I have still to visit Santander too." She nods, and like all the hotel managers she knows my schedule just as well as I do.
"Well since you have a companion with you, we shan't take up more of your time. Let's go." We head back out of the suite, Mia locks the door and turns to me placing one hand on my left arm. "This companion, is she special Sebastian?" If only she knew how special Ava is to me. It alarms me that I have already such strong feelings for her. It also frightens me. Sebastian Garcia, the man who has locked his heart away for a decade now finds himself falling in love with an American girl. Who'd have thought this could happen? I certainly didn't.
I nod and smile, "she is very special Mia." Satisfied Mia smiles back and we begin to walk comfortably side by side towards the top of the staircase.
"You deserve someone special, Sebastian. It has been a very long time." I know she's right, it has been a long time. I wasn't, however, expecting for my heart to flutter every time I think of or see Ava, nor the way my stomach knots when we're together. I almost feel giddy and I know that I've fallen for her in a big way. Only in just four days we have to face reality.
