Nightmare's POV

Stars, I cannot do anything these days around here!

"Oh Brother!~"I hear Dream shout

"Uggggh...."I groan, able to hear the smile he has on his face

For the past few months, Dream has been taking every opportunity he can to get near me. We've got all the serious details about the truce handled and have set guidelines on how to move forward. It has taken a few weeks to reverse the damages, but now everything is handled to the best of our current abilities. So now Dream has taken all this free time to try to get close to me regardless of what I'm doing, only to drag me away for "fun". He calls it "bonding time" to make up for all the time lost, but can't we arrange it instead of it just being based on his impulse? Not to mention that he radiates that sickening positivity by twice the amount whenever he does this!

I slip away down the hall to my room, shutting the door behind me. I lock it.

Isn't a three-month streak of "family bonding" enough for now? Where are those friends of his? Oh...wait...

I shake my head, recalling that after the peace settled things, Blue got with Dust while Ink got with Error and they've been going out on dates since. Soooo that leaves my brother with too much free time to bother me. Luckily, I'm in my castle. So I'm not stuck in my room. I push a book back on my bookshelf and grin as an entirely new hallway opens. I walk down the passageway that slips around the bedrooms and gives glimpses into the hall or each space, seeking out a single space. 

"Let me guess, you escaped your brother again?"A voice sighs

Correction, this castle is now our castle. Though only one person knows that they share it with me. I smile, seeing him approach me in the dim light of the secret hallway. 

"Give me a break, I spent three months straight with his activities. You can imagine how draining it is."I say, taking him by the hand gently.

"Why not just tell him no?"He asks

I glance at him and tilt my head.

Really?

"Right, this is Dream. I was coming to see you, so why use the tunnels?"He asks

I smirk, lifting his hand up. 

"You were, were you?"I ask teasingly

His face burns up, turning into a blushing mess. I chuckle with a grin.

He is so easy yet so adorable.

"That doesn't answer my question and I asked first!"He says

"What? Can't I seek my husband out as well?~"I ask, kissing his hand and causing him to squeak adorably.

Yes, you heard me right. Cross is my HUSBAND. My adorable one at that. And luckily as part of the peace-era plans, we have separated him from his Chara so our relationship is kept private without an annoying third wheel making it awkward for Cross. Now that we have peace and his life is not under threat for me to worry about, we decided to move forward in our relationship and marry a year into the peaceful period. And yet, now two years in, he still gets so flustered at the slightest hint of affection given to him. Like the kiss on a hand for example. Not that I'm complaining, it's a fun way to mess with him and his reactions are adorable.

"S-So, w-w-what did you have in mind?"He asks, glancing down.

I sense some negativity lingering from him and frown.

"Cross...dearest, what is weighing on you? Is everything alright?"I ask

"Killer was messing with me again...And it went further than his usual cow pranks..."He sighs

My tentacles gently reach around him and he welcomes their touch as I pull him closer.

"Is he throwing stones in a glass house again?"I ask

He nods.

I groan, shaking my head. We haven't spoken to the others about our relationship so Cross and Killer are the only members of the gang perceived to be single and open to relationships. Or what used to be the "gang" before the peace agreement formed, allowing the two sides to disband and even mix. Despite this, Killer has been taking a liking to mocking Cross for his lack of a partner while the rest have one. I've heard him and had to discipline him for his hurtful words, going as far as to comment that Cross is "undesirable" or "unlucky in love" and even "unwanted with a doom to stay single". I've noticed a pattern of him doing this when he gets insecure about his chances with Outer, his crush as far as I know he has no guts to ask out. Not to mention how his troublesome history even within the gang may lessen his chances of getting a date so it's quite hypocritical to say that to MY beloved Cross.

I rub circles on his back, kissing his cheeks to soothe him in an effort to cheer him up. But in my head, I am thinking it all over. Then I got an idea.

"How about we tell everyone?"I ask

"But you said we shouldn't because of how they may react! You wanted this to stay private!"He says

"It's more trouble keeping secret than it would be revealed. There's peace now, so we're safe to enjoy ourselves as we wish. And we can handle any threats anyway. Plus with the current relationships the rest are having, they'd be the last in a position to object or taunt the relationship. Half of them are dating already, so I think most of them would be happy about it instead of causing trouble. Horror would certainly support it."I say

"But your brother!"He objects

I chuckle, shaking my head. 

"He will certainly radiate more with the good news but dealing with him is worth it for you to be happy. Imagine the look on Killer's face after all that he has said to you. It will be hilarious."I tell him

His eyes twinkle and I feel his cheek gently. He leans into it gently and I kiss him, feeling him squeeze my spare hand as he intertwines our hands.

"Alright...If you say so..." He says

I lead him to m-our room with a grin growing on my face. I hear him giggle and glance to see my tentacles wiggling eagerly. This is so thrilling, imagining their reactions as we finally reveal it. I unlock the door after slipping our rings on and proudly walk out the door holding hands with him. We walk down the steps to the living room where all of them seem to have gathered, Error shuts the door behind Ink and Horror sits on the couch with Farmer. Dream is trying to figure out the TV controls and I see Killer sprawled upside down on the couch. He hops up from the couch once he sees Cross.

"So that's where you ran off to!"He says as they each turn their heads to us.

"I wouldn't say that I ra-"Cross begins, pausing when I kiss his cheek

"NIGHTMARE! WHAT WAS THAT?"Dream, Dust, Killer, Ink, Chara, and Fell shout

Horror and Error grin, catching on while Blue and Farmer chat casually without acknowledgment of their alarm. Fell and Classic sleep, leaning against each other with popcorn in their laps.

"What? I can't kiss my husband?"I ask 

Killer's jaw drops and it is shocked silence for a few moments. Then smiles spread around the room.

"HUSBAND?!"They all shout, each with different reactions behind it.

I smile, leading Cross to sit beside Horror with a grin on the couch. I nod, seeing how Cross is too shy and a blushing mess to answer. I pull him into my lap, hugging him close with another kiss on the cheek. I smile proudly, showing off my love for him with our hands held firmly and our rings in clear view for them all to see. They all seem happy with the news and I could feel Killer tremble under the weight of his realizations as he realizes that he has been misbehaving towards my husband with all his comments. I glance at him, sensing the horror that this is causing him and he jolts under my gaze, quickly exiting the room.

Dream is talking a mile a minute, radiating positivity as everyone else starts talking but I tune it all out as I zone in on Cross. I see him snuggle into my touch, looking the most relaxed I have ever seen him. I can sense his happiness...His relief...

That's the only thing I care about right now. I'll just focus on him, treasuring his joy and appreciating these moments. 

What a lovely day...

It's my first time doing a oneshot and doing Crossmare so if I got anything misinterpreted about the ship, I'm sorry.
