Moonlight was sleeping on a terrible Monday morning, when his alarm clock rang and woke him up instantly. He wasn't bothered by it because he had been half awake the whole night. Today was a very special day for him, why? You might ask, well to answer that question, his father, well, his adoptive father, is helping his brother and his husband move back into the neighborhood. They have been away for about 16 years, and they were finally moving back home. The reason Moonlight was so excited though, was that his father had told him his brother had three kids, one boy and two girls. He could finally have someone to hang out with! What's better is that the boy was his age, and in the same grade, so they would be going to the same school! "Maybe 10th grade won't be that bad anymore!" Moonlight wouldn't meet the kids until Wednesday, but they are going to school starting today. Moonlight never got to know their names, so he won't know which one is his new "cousin" but he can still meet them on Wednesday. He went downstairs and grabbed his bag and went up to his dad who had his breakfast ready "daddy! Are you excited about your brother coming back?" "Heh, I'm very excited, now you need to get to school, eat this quickly and head out ok?" "Ok daddy! I'll see you when I get home!" Moonlight quickly ate his breakfast and waved to his dad before running out the door. He happily ran to school and waved to the kids who were already there. They didn't wave back, but this didn't bother Moonlight at all. He went straight to his locker and grabbed his binders and books for the day and shut his locker. He turned around and saw a boy walking down the halls, the only thing is, he didn't know who he was. The boy seemed to be lost, so he was probably new. Moonlight decided to go over to him and ask if he needed help. "Excuse me, but you look lost, are you new here?" "Oh, y-yeah... I am, could you help me find my class room, I'm still trying to find my way around here..." "Sure! Let me see your schedule." The boy handed him his schedule for Moonlight to examine, "oh! You have science class with me!" "Really? That's great! Are you going there now?" "Yep! Take my hand, we can walk there together!" The boy nodded and reached his hand out for Moonlight. He took his hand and smiled at him. The boy had a small blush on his face but he smiled back. Before they started walking Moonlight gave him his name. "My name is Moonlight! What's your name?" "Oh! Right, my name is Lucid, it's nice to meet you Moonlight." "Hehe, you to!" Moonlight blushed slightly as well and then walked to class with his new acquaintance Lucid. They reached the class eventually and Moonlight went over to his table which he sat at by himself. Lucid sat down with him and they had a small chat to pass time for class to begin. The bell soon rang and morning announcements went on, with boring things like always. Class time soon began and Lucid was called up to the front to introduce himself. "Umm, hi everyone, my name is Lucid, I just moved here and I have two younger sisters, and I really like the arts, so, yeah..." the teacher thanked him and told him he could sit down again. Lucid quickly sat down next to Moonlight and Moonlight giggled a bit. "You got that over with, now you just need to get through class." Lucid chuckled and nodded. "Hey Moonlight, do we have any other classes together?" Moonlight took his schedule again and his face lit up "we do! Quite a few actually, out of the 9 periods, we have 5 classes together!" "Really? That's great! Do we have the same lunch?" "Yep!" "Cool! I thought I was going to be sitting alone for lunch." "Heh, I always sit alone." "Really? Don't you have any friends?" "No... I don't..." "well now you do." "Huh?" "Yep! I'm gonna be your newest and bestest friend!" "R-really? Oh thank you! You won't regret that decision! I promise!" "Heh, that's reassuring. I think I'm going to like it here, with you with me." Moonlight blushed a bit brighter and giggled, "I'm gonna stay with you for the rest of the year then!" "I'd like that" the two boys kept talking through out Science class before the bell rang. They had to part ways, but they promised to meet up with each other for their next classes, including lunch.

Lunchtime rolled around and Moonlight was already at the lunch room waiting for Lucid to show up. He was thinking about the new boy and he started blushing immensely. Who knew that he would fall for someone he had just met? Well that's logic. What confused him was that he was blushing over a guy, well, I guess that means he is gay now. He was so lost in thought that he didn't realize that the school's biggest bully group spotted him drooling about Lucid. The group walked over and snickered at his behavior. The leader stepped forward and swiftly slapped Moonlight, snapping him out of his trance. "H-Hey... that hurt..." "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT GAY BOY? CRY TO YOUR BOYFRIEND?!" "Wh-what? I'm not gay... he is just my friend..." "OH LOOK, HE'S SAD THAT HE'S IN THE FRIENDZONE! WELL GUESS WHAT? YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE THE FRIENDZONE!" The leader laughed and punched Moonlight to the ground. Moonlight cried out in pain, but the other people just laughed at him. "TEACH HIM A LESSON BOYS!" The people nodded and they crowded around Moonlight, menacing grins across their faces. Moonlight weakly begged them not to hurt him, but that could not change their opinion. He was swiftly kicked in the stomach and he coughed in response. Multiple times he was kicked, in his stomach, his legs, his chest, and his skull. He sobbed and begged for them to stop. But nothing he tried to do could stop them. Moonlight had given up hope and just helplessly took the pain he was given. He was about to pass out when suddenly they stopped. He opened his eyes to see Lucid with a bone in his hand, he had knocked out the leader and that scared the group. They ran off and left Lucid and Moonlight alone. Lucid quickly went to Moonlight and shook him gently, "Moonlight?! Are you ok? Please tell me you're ok... I can't loose you..." "L-Lucid? Is that you?" "Yes, it's me... please tell me you aren't hurt that bad!" "Don't worry... I'll be fine..." "ok... well, I'm just a bit confused, why were they hurting you?" "If I tell you... will you promise not to judge?" "I promise, you're the only friend I have..." "Well... it was because they found out that I am... gay..." "that's why? That's the stupidest reason to beat someone up..." "You're not disgusted?" "Of course I'm not disgusted, because I'm gay to." "R-really? Well I guess we have something in common." "Yep, alright I'm gonna take you to the nurses office, I care about you, and I want you to get better." "Ok..." Lucid smiled and quickly picked up Moonlight and carried him to the nurses office. The nurse was very kind and took Moonlight from Lucid and healed him. Lucid sat outside the office and waited for Moonlight to be healed. As Lucid thought more, he couldn't help but tear up, thinking about how Moonlight was beaten up because of his sexuality. It tore his heart when he saw him bruised and crying, and to see that smile broken and turned into a frown. Lucid didn't know exactly why, but he absolutely hated thinking about Moonlight so sad. So he decided to think about him when he was happy and excited. Lucid's face gradually got darker when he thought about his cute smile, and adorable laugh, it warmed his soul when he thought of him. Breaking his trance, the nurse opened the door and told him he could come in. Lucid bolted inside and went straight over to where Moonlight was sitting. He quickly hugged him, receiving an adorable squeak from Moonlight, "L-Lucid?! I'm fine! You don't need to worry that much about me..." "yes I do... I care about you... and I don't care that I just met you today... right now, you're the most important person in my life..." Moonlight's face erupted into a blue and purple blush and he stuttered a bit, "m-me?! I'm the m-most important person in y-your life?!" "Yep... you are..." "Lucid... I don't know what to say... I guess, thank you... for caring about me..." "you're welcome... are you ok to go to class?" "The nurse told me that I'm not healed enough to go to class..." "well I'm not leaving you... I'm staying with you..." "But you need to get to class, it's important." "Well you're more important... please can I stay here with you..." "Well... I guess... what are you going to do here?" "Stay here with you." "Well, ok then" Lucid smiled and nuzzled Moonlight softly making both of them blush, but it didn't matter to them. They had the one they cared for with them and that's all they needed. <smol tem skip> The end of the day came quickly and Lucid and Moonlight were still stuck on each other. Eventually they got up and went to their lockers together, and walked out the door. They stood on the sidewalk in silence, before Lucid turned to Moonlight "I have to go to the right, which way do you have to go?" "I go left... well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow!" "Yeah..." they stared awkwardly at each other before Lucid put his hands onto Moonlight's shoulders making him squeak, "before I go... I wanted to do something..." "W-what do you want to do?" Lucid inhaled deeply before replying, "this... and I'll probably regret it later..." Moonlight didn't have time to reply before Lucid pressed his lips onto his own. His face erupted into a dark blush and he wrapped his arms around Lucid's neck, kissing him back. Lucid blushed as well and wrapped his arms around Moonlight's waist. Moonlight squeaked a bit when he felt Lucid's tongue poke his mouth. He slowly opened his mouth, and Lucid slid his tongue inside. Lucid used one hand to grip the back of Moonlight's head and deepened the kiss, playing with his tongue. Moonlight moaned softly as Lucid played around with his tongue, but he allowed him to, enjoying every second of it. Unfortunately they had to part, leaving a trail of saliva connecting their tongues. Lucid wiped the trail away and leaned next to Moonlight's 'ear' and whispered "I know I just met you today... but I've fallen in love with you..." Moonlight blushed even more and smiled, "I fell in love with you as well..." Lucid smiled and kissed his cheek before turning around and running home, as he ran he shouted, "Until tomorrow Moonlight!" Moonlight giggled and turned around and went home. He couldn't wait until tomorrow.

Moonlight had just gotten out of school and was walking home by himself like normal. Like the day before, he had spent the day with Lucid and he couldn't wait until the next day, just so he could see his beautiful eyes and gorgeous smile. Once he got home, his dad was up and cleaning everything around the house. At first Moonlight was confused on why his dad was cleaning everything, until he remembered that his uncles were coming over to see them, and to introduce their kids to him. Moonlight squealed a bit and dropped his bag on the ground and ran over to his dad excitedly "I cannot wait until uncle Dream and uncle Cross come over with their kids!" "Heh, I thought you were going to be excited." "Yeah! I may not be actually related to them, but I'm still excited to meet them!" "That's right! Now go upstairs and finish any homework that you have." "Ok daddy!" Moonlight ran upstairs and quickly did his homework. After he was done he cleaned up around his room so that he and his cousin could hang out. Time passed and suddenly the doorbell rang. Moonlight squealed in excitement as he heard his dad open the door. He touched up his room a bit before his dad called him downstairs. Moonlight ran downstairs and stood next to his dad and greeted his uncles. Soon a little girl came running in, she looked to be about 5. His uncle Dream said that her name is Whipple and she's the youngest one they have. Another girl came out, she appeared to be 10. Her name was Faith. Moonlight knew that the last one was the boy, so he waited excitedly. Soon enough someone stepped out from behind them, but instead of being excited, his heart dropped. His uncle Cross put a hand on his shoulder and said "this is my boy Lucid." Moonlight stared at Lucid in shock and some sadness. Lucid also stared at him with the same attributes. His dad pushed him forward towards Moonlight and told them to go hangout in his room. Lucid shakily nodded and took Lucid's hand, going upstairs to his room, and closing the door behind him. They stood there in silence before Lucid spoke up "so... you're my cousin..." "Yeah... I am..." Lucid walked over to him and pulled him into a tight hug. Moonlight grabbed onto him quickly and slowly broke down. "Why... why o-of all people a-are you my c-cousin..." "it's ok... we didn't know..." "But it's not ok... I love you... and you're my cousin..." "well... that's true... but there's just one thing... were you adopted by your dad?" "Y-yes..." "that means we aren't blood related and we are still legally allowed to love each other in that way." "R-really?" "Yep" Moonlight looked up at Lucid and he broke into a huge smile. Lucid chuckled and bent down and kissed him softly. Moonlight happily kissed him back and held Lucid close to him. Lucid smiled and pulled away from him and held his head to his chest, "I love you so much Moonlight..." "I love you to Lucid..."
