Setting the Stage: Just another one that could happen any time. ;-)

~Your Perspective~

"How is this even possible?" you ask, watching the white hell outside. It's a snowstorm, but... in the underground? You're not even sure there can be snow in the first place, not to mention the wind.

"You don't know?" Sans says from the couch. He's been laying there since the terrible storm had started, and shows no sign of leaving it.

"No I don't," you say, turning to him. "But you, Mr. Know-it-all, must have a reason for this weather, right?"

"Mmmmagic."

You pout, but can't stop a grin from growing on your lips. After all, he's probably right. Lots of things down here can't be explained, and magic is the one thing monsters know best, so... there's that, you suppose.

"A-actually I think that thanks to steam f-from the core the clouds are m-made, and then t-the cold air in Snowdin is what c-causes—"

"Alphys, Alphys, Alphys," Undyne says, cutting her girlfriend off. "You talk too much."
You sigh and sit down on the couch. The moment you do, Sans repositions himself so that he's resting his head on your lap. He tries to stay cool, but he's casting glances at you to check whether you like it or not.

"Who allowed you to lay here?" you ask playfully, towering over him.

He chuckles and shrugs, giving you a mischievous look.

"My dear (Y/N), I've been loitering around this house for years. So far Papyrus has survived it, so I'm sure you can too."

You try to push him off of you, but to no avail.

"Well, Papyrus isn't the one you're torturing with your heavy thoughts," you note. You try to make a kind of pun out of it, considering he's had some really heavy stuff on his mind recently. Not at the moment, maybe, but you've seen him at his bottom quite a few times. It fills you with happiness when you remind yourself that you are the reason he keeps going. He seems to get what you're referring to, his smile growing a little bit tight at your somewhat careless inside joke.

"Yeah, but hey, Papyrus isn't the one who helped to lift those thoughts, right?"

What, is he telepathic now, too? It wouldn't surprise you—he can already use telekinesis. Mind reading isn't really that far of a stretch.

"...Right."

You catch his hand and lean back against the couch, a sigh escaping from you. The living room falls into silence.

Suddenly, there's a crash upstairs. Then the door to Papyrus's room slams open, and Monster Kid runs out.

"YOU'LL NEVER GET ME ALIVE!!!" he yells, laughing.

"What's happening?!" you exclaim, alarmed.

Sans snorts and waves his hand lazily through the air.

"It's alright—they're just playing 'Cat And Mouse.' I guess MK is the Mouse."

"You bet, uncle Sans!" Kid shouts as he rushes through the living room and into the kitchen. He hides underneath the tall sink, squeezing himself in next to a box filled with bone attacks.

"'Uncle' Sans?" you repeat, smiling. "That's cute."

Said uncle's face has a faint blue blush spread across it for a moment.

"Gee, thanks," he mutters. "I dunno why he calls me that, but if he wants me to be a part of the family, then... who am I to say no?"

"Hm."

You flinch as one of Chara's memories comes to mind—a small figure, sitting all alone. In the darkness. Her family just... leaving her there. The sound of her cries are still fresh in your ears, and you can visualize the sight of her eyes as all hope left her of ever seeing sunlight again...

Chara was trapped underground before it was cool, you think. Then you mentally slap yourself for making a meme out of such a serious matter.

"SANS! (Y/N)! DID YOU SEE MONSTER KID PASS THROUGH HERE?" Papyrus asks loudly as he runs down the stairs. "WE'RE PLAYING 'CAT AND MOUSE' AND ME AND FRISK ARE THE CATS!"

"Nope—haven't seen him," Sans replies. You just watch, content to be a spectator in this little game of theirs. Is it supposed to be some sort of hide and seek? Or maybe hide and tag would be a better description...

You watch as Frisk and Papyrus hastily search around the living room, behind the TV, under Alphys' lab coat (much to the reptile's dismay), and even under the couch (Papyrus somehow managed to pick up the couch to check under it—with you two still on it). Not finding their quarry, they move onwards to the kitchen.

"Mind explaining me this game, please?" you ask.

"Uh, welp, it's like hide and seek, but with more than one seeker. No handcuffs though," he adds, winking at you. "And once you find the hiding Mouse..."

He stops mid-sentence, and gently turns your head to direct your attention into the kitchen.

"THERE YOU ARE!! NOW YOU HAVE TO GIVE US THE CHEESE!"

"...you gotta give 'em something," your boyfriend finishes.

Undyne snorts and grins at you, her razor sharp teeth gleaming in the light.

"The funny part is when you don't have anything to give, and the Mouse gets slapped!" she exclaims.

"Nah, Papyrus's version doesn't have anything like that," Sans corrects.

You, instead of saying anything in response, catch his hand and nuzzle into his palm. He blinks in surprise, but wordlessly gives in, a haze of blue settling over his cheekbones. Cuddle time is the best time.

There's a quiet, squeaking sound outside. That should've probably been the first warning for you, but the wind outside was noisy all the time—who would've noticed?

Then, suddenly, there's a cracking sound much louder than the first one, and the house shakes as if you're in the middle of an earthquake. Then everything settles, the strange phenomenon stopping as soon as it began.

"What the—" you want to say something very, very rude about the weather, but your (surely majestic) speech is interrupted as all the lights go off, the house and all of its current occupants suddenly finding themselves in complete darkness.

"Huh," Undyne says, looking at you—her softly glowing yellow eyes are still visible in the inky blackness. "Your love was so strong that it gave you the ability to turn off the lights at will."

"Haa haa. Very funny, Undyne," you mutter.

"Where's Frisk?" Monster Kid asks, his voice hushed with fear. "Frisk, where are you?!"

"She can't tell ya, MK, remember? She's mute," Sans says, sitting up. He snaps his fingers, creating a tiny orb of blue magic in the center of the room. The moment he does, Kid and Frisk collide with each other. Frisk immediately hugs her friend, as if saying "I'm here for you."

Moments later, Sans' temporary light splutters and disappears again.

"That brings up the question," you say, trying to get used to the darkness, "what exactly happened to the lights?"

"IT APPEARS A TREE FELL ON OUR ROOF AND DAMAGED THE POWER LINES," Papyrus says, peering through the window.

"In other words, t-the power's out," Alphys says, confirming what you're all thinking.
Frisk pulls out her cellphone and types something, then shows it to Sans. He pats her on head and says, "Don't worry, kid. We're not gonna freeze. It's just gonna be dark until the storm ends. Then I'm gonna repair the power lines, OK?"

Frisk nods and writes something else, showing it to you this time.

"How about we play 'Vampires' now?"

You feel chills run down your spine. You like that game and hate it at the same time. It's so awesomely scary.

"Okay. Guys, would you like to play 'Vampires'?"

"A NEW GAME?"

"Do I need hands?"

"As long as it stays inside..."

"I-I guess..."

"Sure, Buttercup."

Frisk claps her hands, and then gestures for you to explain the game.

"It works like this: we'll take a few pieces of paper, and on one of them we'll write 'vampire.' Then everyone will take one, and go hide. The person with the word 'vampire' on their paper counts to twenty, and then starts searching. You have to do this noise," you smack your lips a few times to show them, "and when you catch someone, they become a vampire too. The last person not caught wins. You can hide anywhere in this house."

Everyone agrees with that, and so you tear one paper into pieces and write the word 'vampire' onto one. You crumple all of the papers into little balls, and cup them in your hands.
Suddenly, a loud "HKKKRKRVRRRHKRRR" make all of you jump. The tree on the roof moves a bit, but the sound it made sure added some effect to an already nervous atmosphere.

"I-it was just a t-tree," you hear Alphys whispering to herself.

"Now, everyone take a paper," you whisper. They all take one, and try really hard to find out if there's something on their teensy-tiny paper, squinting in the darkness.

"And now," you say, smiling with relief because your paper was blank. "RUN."

And you take off running like crazy and end up hitting the wall, but it's worth it—now you can orientate yourself.

Where to hide?

You figured Papyrus or Frisk or Monster Kid will hide under the car-shape bed (a classic place to hide) and promise yourself that you'll go there if you become a vampire.

Sans' bed doesn't have that much space under it, so you can't hide there.

The space under the tall sink is so obvious that not even Papyrus would hide there.

Maybe...

Then, a slightly less important but definitely cute memory hits you. When Frisk was telling you about her adventures, she mentioned this funny little story from when she was exploring the house.

"THIS IS THE TRASH CAN. FEEL FREE TO VISIT IT ANY TIME."

The idea is a little disgusting, and whole lot of risky, but... Why not?

Your mind processed all that in a few milliseconds, and you sprint over to the kitchen. You pull out an empty trash-bag.

Thank God Papyrus decided to do chores just today, you think as you hide in the large trash can.

Just to make sure you'll go unnoticed if someone searches the can, you try your best to spread the plastic trash-bag over yourself. Right after you makes yourself comfortable, someone else enters the kitchen. They aren't smacking. Instead, they're saying "o-oh, where to hide, w-w-where to hide."

You figure that it's probably Alphys.

Now all that's left to do... is wait. You hear someone that sounds like Sans, but you can't figure out the words.

Did they catch him already? Pfft, probably. I bet he didn't even try to hide.

~Sans' Perspective~

"RUN," (Y/N) says, and I hear her footsteps quickly taking her deeper into the darkness we've been trapped in. I... Uh... Yeah, I admit, I'm kind of panicking. This is terribly similar to some of my nightmares, and I don't like it. But hey, if Frisk's having fun, Paps is having fun, and (Y/N) is having fun, I'm all for having fun myself.

But where the heck do I hide?!

Everyone's already run away, and it's only me and one other person. The vampire. I can't really figure out the shape of their figure, but I hear their irregular breathing as they counted to twenty. I slowly start to sweat. Oh great. I can deal with a murderous child, I confess my feelings to a girl I love, but for some reason, I suck at playing stupid games 'Hide and Seek,' or 'Vampire,' or whatever.

"...Twenty," the figure whispers.

And here I am, about two meters from them. Then an idea hits me. Maybe I can run for it. It's a super crazy idea, because if that person is Undyne or Papyrus, they'll easily catch me.

But, considering I don't really have any other options...

"Heh—good luck catching me," I say, sticking out my glowing tongue and then rushing past whoever it was and up the stairs. Of course, the Vampire was surprised by me, but they quickly pull themselves together and run after me. I'm already in Papyrus' room, though, so I have a head start. My main thought is that someone's gotta be under the bed. So instead, I run and hide behind it.

The smacking person enters the room... and immediately looks under the bed.

"FINE, YOU FOUND ME," Papyrus sighs, slowly pulling himself out. Meanwhile, the other Vampire has already walked away. Papyrus, of course, saw me walk into the room, so the chase around the house was basically for nothing.

Heh. You can run as fast as you can, but in the end chaser doesn't even need to touch you—so long as they corner you, there's no way for you to escape. ...That sounds like a horror movie, not a game for kids.

I sigh, shaking the chilling feeling off. In any case, there's no way I'm getting out of this. Might as well admit defeat. With clanking teeth (I don't have lips, so... yeah. It's close enough,) I go to check my own room. I don't think anyone would go there, but I've gotta make sure.

...The door is open. Well, that's awfully suspicious. I go in, taking slow, deliberate steps. If there's anyone here, they must be pretty freaked out. So this is how it feels... to be the evil one. No need to hurry. The slower I am, the more fear I'll spread.

Heh. This is... actually kind of fun. I can kinda see why Chara likes it.

That's when I realize just how dark my current thoughts are. My clanking falters, and I shake my head to try and clear it.

Suddenly, something moves. I saw it from the corner of my eyesocket. I grin and slowly, sloooowly, turn in that direction. It's true that I tried to make my room less messy, but I just had to keep the self-sustaining tornado. And between the tornado and my bed... is laying something small.

I pretend to ignore it and turn back. I could hear them exhale with relief.

"Who's the skeleton in the wardrobe?"

I look directly at the tiny figure. They catch my gaze, and quickly try to get up and run. Too late, buddy.

"Last year's winner of Hide And Seek," I say, catching the running child by their shirt. I see two arms, so it's Frisk—not MK. She laughs at my joke, and pulls out her phone.

"I'm sorry I hid in your room. <:-( ," she types.

I shake my head.

"It's okay, Frisk. Now let's go find MK and your sis, shall we?" she nods and runs out of the room.

I want to follow her, but something seems... off. I turn back. There's still somebody hiding here.

The room is now bathed in the blue light of a clear night, which tells me that the snowstorm is over. Good. Now... who's in my room?

Hmm. The door to the room was left open...

I look behind the door. And surprise surprise, it's Undyne. Nice meeting with you, how are you... now get out and find Alphys, (Y/n) and MK. Or... two of them, because one of them was the first Vampire. Probably Alphys, because MK is tiny and I heard (Y/N) running away.

Undyne leaves my room (she seems to be a bit annoyed that her trick didn't work on me), and this time, I follow suit.

There's a shriek from downstairs. It's probably Alphys—she's probably the most scared. But wait, if she's screaming... then the vampire has to be Monster Kid or (Y/N). But... That doesn't make any sense.

Maybe she ran from us so she could give us a chance? No, the first Vampire was standing somewhere else. Then it has to be MK. Wow, he sure is a good runner.

"Aha! Found ya, punk!" Undyne yells, pulling Kid out from under the small table in the corner of our living room.

"Okay," Kid says, "but I'm the last one, right? I won, right?"

"I... I guess?" Undyne says, shrugging.

In that glorious moment, the lights went back on.

So it was only temporary. Good. Right now I don't even care I'm blinded by all the light, I'm just

glad it's over.

As soon as my vision stops being all blurry, I recognize (Y/N) walking out of the kitchen. She waves at us.

"The lights went on, so I decided to stop hiding. Did you find everyone?"

What?

Wait, WHAT?!

~Your Perspective~

Your smile slowly fades into nothingness as your friends and sister stare at you in confusion.

"What?" you ask, confused.

"If you were hiding... then who exactly was the Vampire?" Sans asks. He seems to be a bit

nervous.

Everyone remains silent, each person looking at the other for an explanation.

"O-okay," you stutter. "This is creepy. Hey, whoever it was, you can stop scaring us. It's funny, but stop it."

"Yeah guys, really," Undyne says. "It wasn't me. Sans caught me so he knows."

"WELL IT WAS NOT ME EITHER! SANS SAW ME GETTING CAUGHT, AND I CAUGHT HIM AFTER THAT, RIGHT SANS?"

You look at him as he nods.

"You're right, bro. You too, Undyne. I thought it was Alphys?"

She shakes her head.

"I was hiding under the sink."

Truth be told, she didn't have many other options.

"Yeah, I heard her hiding in the kitchen," you say. "Frisk? Monster Kid?"

Frisk shrugs and shakes her head, showing two fingers as a sign that she's telling the truth.

Monster Kid also denies being the Vampire... though he has something to say about it.

"I... I have to tell you something..." he slowly says, looking a bit ashamed. "I actually didn't take the paper in the first place... You know, no hands..."

Your face goes completely white. There weren't any papers left in your hand other than the one left for you. Everyone took one. So if Monster Kid didn't take one...

"Guys. That means..." you hesitate, and a shiver runs down your spine. "There was someone else in the house."

"Well... crap," Undyne growls. She turns to you. "(Y/N), kids, Alphys and Sans—stay here. Papyrus, we're gonna search the house. Now."

"ON IT, UNDYNE! I'M SEARCHING THE KITCHEN!"

You watch as they both walk away, sitting down in a complete shock.

What the heck. Someone else is in the house. Could it be... no. No, she hasn't shown up since that dream. Why would she scare us, anyway? It's not like it'd benefit her in any way...

"You okay, Buttercup?" Sans says as he hugs you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder.

"Yeah, I... I guess."

"Good. I'm gonna go check on something now, 'kay?"

"Check what?"

"Well... I have a suspicion."

~Meanwhile, at Grillby's~

"PFFFFFWAHAHAHA!!! Oh man, those looks on their faces were hilarious!" Snowdrake says as he wipes away tears of laughter. "That was such a GREAT idea!"

"I must admit, it was worth the walk through the snowstorm," Nice Cream Guy says with a smile.

"You really needed someone tall, though—otherwise they wouldn't have fallen for it."

"That's why you're so awesome! Thanks A LOT!" Snowdrake passes him a pack of chocolate candy. But before NCGuy could take it, white hands slam on the table so hard it makes the two friends jump.

"Heya Snowdrake."

A skeleton in a blue hoodie is looking at him, a sinister grin on his face.

"Y'know, I heard you like making fun of people..."

And in that moment, Snowdrake knew he messed up. He feels his horrible sin crawling on his back...

A/N From Stuffwriter: XD Oh my Gawd I'm so proud of it! It was originally supposed to be a ghost-story-telling time, but it turned out to be a creepy joke of Snowdrake Jr. and NCGuy. Originally the prank step was supposed to be Metatton, but how would Sans know about it, so I changed it.

Btw, "Vampires" is a real game and it has similar rules, only you know who's the vampire. It's great, play it sometime with your friends. Or you can try it alone, but if you find someone... RUN.

I have a little bonus here:

Oh sweet Asgore have mercy with my soul, he thought as Sans sat down next to him.

"Y-yeah, I... I sometimes do t-that..."

"I have a deal for you, buddy," Sans says.

Snowdrake tries to remain brave.

Nice Cream Guy is trying to hide under the table.

"And t-that deal is...?"

"Pay my tab, and I'll let you go."

"I HAVE NO MONEY!!!"

"Oh yeah? Then I guess I'll just tell Undyne who should she throw down into—"

"No wait, I'll do it!"

And that's why Snowdrake's not loved by anyone. The end~

Just joking, guys. Don't hate Snowdrake pls.
