Short Story
Welp I found a really cute post on Tumblr (if you have Tumblr please follow me! My account is rowena-ravenpuff) and I really felt that the universe was telling me to write a story about it so yee.
The post goes something like:
-camimendes: Gay culture is ordering a pumpkin spice latte just because the cute barista recommended it for you
-camimendes: Can you believe I drank the pumpkin poison and the universe rewarded me with the baristas number today
-camimendes: [pic of cup with "Date <3 Saturday @ 7?"] SHE BROUGHT THIS TO ME WHILE I WAS STUDYING!!!!!!!!
-aleximayhew: This person is living a fanfiction.
-roguesquirrel: op show me the portal to the coffee shop au pls and thx
So, I wrote a story about this. Here goes:
Cami breathed in the crisp autumn air. The Starbucks in front of her looked inviting and every time someone opened the door she could just imagine the warm, spiced air wafting towards her, relaxation filling her up like hot caramel from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. Making up her mind to buy a drink while she studied for her exams, she stepped inside, immediately hit by the satisfying smell of baked goods and fresh coffee. Her eyes flitted over to the baristas serving the line of customers. Damn my gayness.
Chocolate hair tied up in a ponytail, a few wisps escaping the hairband prison and framing her face perfectly. Cami pretended to browse the selection of muffins though she stole glances at the girl every now and then, trying to be subtle, but the fates had other ideas and their eyes met. She tried not to act like a startled cat, but her eyes widened and she stared for a second in silence before the barista broke the bond and smiled at her. Damn it, she thought before hurriedly looking back down at the brownies. It came to her turn to order quickly. No chance of not looking at the barista in the eye.
"What would you like to order?" She seemed to glow with warmth, like the sun coming out of a cloud. Cami was speechless, staring at her in silent shock. After a few seconds of Cami admiring her golden hazelnut eyes, the barista added "I would recommend the Pumpkin Spice Latte; perfectly hot in this cold weather."
Pumpkin poison. No way I'll ever drink- "I'll take one Pumpkin Spice Latte, please."-that pumpkin poison.
"I'll bring it to you in a minute, feel free to take a seat at any table."
Blushing furiously, Cami walked over to a table seat and set out her work that she had planned to do. A cup was placed in front of her, some writing visible on the top and a note next to it. She glanced up, meeting the beam of the angel who had put it there. She had just about stopped blushing but her ears decided to look as if they were on fire and as the barista walked of after winking at her, her face joined her ears.
She looked back down to read what it said on the note and cup lid.
A number was scribbled on the paper and the lid read "Date <3 Saturday @ 7?"
Cami didn't dare look in the barista's direction for the rest of her stay.
Okay she lied. She stared at the cute barista constantly.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
This is my first time writing something like this so constructive criticism is welcome! This is actually quite fun... :3
