"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness."

His words were clear and precise, despite the utter brokenness of his tone. His words cut through each and every wall that she had painstakingly constructed in the span of a second. They reached the soul that had been buried deep within this dark shell. The man that she had beaten within an inch of his life now laid before her, bleeding and utterly destroyed, and he still begged one last thing of her.
"Let me be your hero."
She smirked in a rather venomous fashion, while her vibrant sapphire eyes glinted sadistically. "You wish to be my hero, you wish to save her when you cannot even save yourself! You are truly mad, Angel." Her reply was delivered in a soft tone, as if to mimic the wounded angel's request.
"I'm afraid that you are mistaken, Kiera."
Deep within the demonic entity that hovered above Alucard, the injured being that symbolized all that was good in this world, another being stirred. Alvara stirred, her consciousness rousing itself within the darkness that contained her.
"Sanity is a requirement for our kind."
She refused to add him to the list of those she had slain, and it was in that moment that the fallen Guardian Angel regained control of herself, if only for a brief moment. She fixed her childhood friend with a look of utter desperation-and hatred. "You could not save me from her before-there is absolutely nothing that you can do for me now! I have already spilt the blood of countless innocents. I have slaughtered our brothers and sisters! There is nothing left for a tainted soul such as me, you utter fool. I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU-" Alvara screamed, her words voiced with such conviction that they silenced Alucard. The Fallen Angel trembled as she began to sob, tears cascading down her blood spattered face.
Impure sapphires crashed against the concrete of a rather deserted alley. They were the tears of an angel-the tears of Alvara.
"I made a promise to you, Alvara."
Her hate filled words could not forever silence the dying angel, however, as he spoke once more. He spoke of the promise that they had made the each other as children, an event that had transpired nearly a millennium ago. "What of it, Alucard!?" Alvara practically seethed, and it was as if she intended for her words to be an acid that would cause Alucard further pain.
Alucard simply gave her a pained smile, his brilliant green eyes filled with such emotion that her heart shattered just by meeting his gaze. He extended his right hand to her, never once glancing away or voicing his pain.
"I intend to fulfill that promise, Alvara. No matter how many times I fail-I WILL save you."
She could not speak, for Alucard had left her speechless. She could not breathe, for he had taken away what breath remained. She could not think, for Kiera clawed at her thoughts. The broken being that was Alvara reached out to the man that was determined beyond anything she had ever witnessed and brushed her fingers against his. He grasped them, and dragged her towards him with surprising strength-and she could not find it within herself to resist him.
He forced his battered form into a sitting position, before he engulfed her in a hug. The man that had always been by her side, that she had wounded and spited, simply hugged her. Alvara could feel his grip weakening, as his body reached the limit that it should have reached long ago. "A-Alucard, I-"
"I'm sorry."
The world was a masterpiece. It was a place of darkness, and madness, and everything that is unholy. The world was a place for Kiera to roam, and for Alvara to witness. The world had no place for people such as Alucard, and yet the world held many just like him.
Kiera regained control over Alvara's body, and fled the scene as more Guardian Angels arrived. Alucard was resuscitated before his soul was truly lost to them, and the matter of Alvara Adeline-The Angel Divided, as brought before the Council of Twelve, and a decision was made. There was absolutely nothing that Heaven could do to stop the monstrosity that Alvara had become, for if Alucard could not stop her, then no one could. Heaven would no longer interfere with Alvara. Alucard didn't care what the Council said. He would continue to search for her despite everything. He would continue to try and save her.
There is yet reason in madness, just as there is madness in love.
