Chapter 21
The group waited in anticipation for Luna to emerge from the beast's mouth.
She didn't.
"What the hell?" Scarlet muttered. "Come on! Get the hell out of there, use your damn lance or something!"
"She's not doing anything," Satsuki shrieked, clinging onto Saiko. "Wh-why-"
"She's dead," Saiko said flatly. "It ate her. She's dead."
"How can you say that!" Satsuki growled, as the beast began chewing, with no trouble. She disentangled herself from Saiko, and crossed her arms. "Luna is our friend, and you don't even care-"
"Luna is your friend," Saiko scowled. "Only the strong will survive in this place. It's best that she goes now-"
Saiko was cut off with a firm slap from her redhead friend, making the blue haired girl's eyes widen in surprise.
"Don't say that," The girl's voice broke, but she stood angrily. "Don't. Say. That. About anyone! Luna!"
"Satsuki," Tsuki tried, placing an arm around her shoulder. "Luna is.."
"This place is so horrible," Satsuki sobbed, burying herself into Tsuki's arms. "Luna... please..!"

Three down.
Everyone's spirits were low. Luna, Utari, Killia. Gone, forever. Hikari's arm was gone. Everything seemed hopeless.
"Luna..." Satsuki stared at the ground numbly. "I can't believe it..."
"I thought she was supposed to be able to predict everyone's moves," Scarlet said angrily, as her way of coping. "What the hell happened?"
"It failed," Saiko responded emotionlessly, slightly bored. "We all live, and we'll all die eventually. What's so different about this-"
"No one should have to die!" Satsuki screamed out, tears falling down her face. "It should... it should've been fine! Nothing should've turned out like this... it should've all been okay.."
"The delusion of this place being wonderful is finally wearing off on you," Saiko replied, not feeling the loss of Utari, Killia, or Luna. To be honest, she found herself annoyed by all three and she was kinda glad they were gone. "You're finally realizing how horrid this hell is-"
"Rub it in, will you!?" Satsuki's red eyes narrowed, and Tsuki attempted to step in and stop it, but was ignored. "I'm only ten! The world is supposed to be okay! Everything's supposed to be okay! You don't understand cause you were created from a tube! Everything was provided to you from the computer! Guess what? Not all of us are given that sort of information! I don't know all of the worlds answers like you apparently do, but I have more emotions than you ever will!"
"Excuse me?" Saiko was now angry as well, and her fists clenched. "I didn't ask to be born from a fucking tube! I hate every second of it. Do you think I want to know everything? Don't you know I'd rather be clueless like you? I don't get that luxury!"
The two were enraged by each other and their words, with Saiko pulling out her scythe and Satsuki pulling out her katana.
"Stop, you two!" Tsuki growled, pulling Satsuki away. "No more!"
"This is unnecessary violence," Scarlet took hold of Saiko. "Calm down, you two! Utari, Killia, and Luna never would've wanted us to fight like this!"
"Y-you're right..." Satsuki sheathed her katana, sagging in Tsuki's arms. Tsuki ran her fingers through Satsuki's short hair comfortingly. "I'm sorry... I'm just..."
"Saiko's different than you and I, or even Scarlet," Tsuki reminded the redhead. "She doesn't feel fear or emotion for the most part. It's not her fault she's like this."
"I'm sorry..."
"Saiko, I know it's hard for you to imagine," Scarlet said softly as Saiko continued to try and attack the redhead. "But Satsuki's been through the same as you. You know that."
"She doesn't understand anything," Saiko snarled. "She's innocent. The world hasn't given her the trouble she deserves. She's finally realizing this isn't full of sunshine and rainbows-"
"Right, but isn't that what you're missing out on? Isn't that why you're upset with her?"
Saiko frowned as Scarlet reminded her of why she was truly angry. Scarlet had seen right through her- Saiko was frustrated because Satsuki had been happy, and had fun compared to Saiko who had always been upset.
"She hasn't had half the troubles I've had," Saiko said weakly. "None."
"No, but she's had her own share. Don't you two think you're being silly?"
Hey everyone! Hope you're all enjoying Sanity.
