Chapter 20
(Note: there is an EXCELLENTLY drawn cat and jungle. It's horrible, lol, don't make fun of it thanks)
A couple of weeks had passed since Utari's and Killia's brutal death.
It was Luna and Hikari's arena battle. As normal, Hikari went first, and Luna would follow. Satsuki hadn't recovered, none of them had. But slowly, Scarlet was making her remarks again and Tsuki was beginning to lighten up again. Things seemed to be getting better.
But of course, nothing could ever stay that way.
The girl with cream colored hair left to the arena, and it formed into a jungle area, with tall trees and long vines. Hikari stared at it, and suddenly, a small cat sprung out of the trees.
Startled, Hikari quickly dodged the attack, formulating an axe made of light and slamming it down on it's neck. It whimpered, falling to the ground. Hikari stared in confusion, until it revived, slightly bigger, and slightly madder.
"Oh, shit," Scarlet looked at it as Hikari easily swung her axe again, killing it once again. Which, of course, prompted it to roll over and grow slightly, short spikes growing. "Damn."
"D-don't swear," Satsuki crossed her arms, her rules still standing. "Please."
"Sorry."
The fight went on like this, until it had died for the sixth time, and was coming back for the seventh. It was about the size of a bear now, with long spikes and claws. Hikari's weapon transformed into a sword, and she spun it as it lunges towards her. She rolled under it's claw, slicing at it and it fell to the ground with a thud. Her sword slashed, clearing its throat and it fell to the ground.
"Cat's have nine lives," Tsuki bit her nails nervously. "They really took that into consideration."
The cat revived, swinging at the girl, and while she managed to dodge it, the claws had grown longer, and managed to swipe her across the face. With a groan of pain, her weapon changed to a scythe and she dashed towards the cat, slicing through its side before dodging gracefully away. With her weapon constantly changing from a sword to a dagger to a lance, the animal wasn't able to keep track of her range and kept trying to hit her when it wasn't possible. She finally managed to land a killing blow, which brought it to its final transformation. Hikari was panting with how tired she was.
It grew bigger, its senses growing as it looked around anxiously. Its paws were huge, and the spikes on it were lethal. It pounced towards her, and Hikari moved, expecting its attack and blocked the attack with her lance. The momentum sent her flying backwards, although she managed to keep her balance.
It came at her again, paws flying and it was so fast that Hikari could barely keep up. She couldn't best it, because while she was able to use many weapons, she wasn't good enough with one to overcome it. It reared back, and the spike on its tail slammed into her left arm, and she screamed in pain. With the strength she could muster, she made a dagger and amputated her arm.
"Hikari!" Satsuki stood, her hands covering her face in fear. "Please..."
The creature lunged for her again, and Hikari went running into the jungle, hissing in pain.
It was a lot bigger than the trees, but that didn't matter much. It just crashed through all of them as Hikari tried to get away.
She suddenly disappeared, making the creature look around in confusion. With all her might, Hikari lunged from the trees above, axe in her right hand.
With one final blow, her axe split down, slicing its head from its body cleanly. The cat howled, falling over, and her axe disappeared as Hikari collapsed to the ground.
"HIKARI!"

"She's gonna be okay," Tsuki reminded Satsuki who was buried in Saiko's arms. "Mario confirmed it. With some treatment, she'll be alright."
"Good," Satsuki sighed in relief. "I was so worried..."
"Hikari's tough," Saiko reminded her. "She'll be okay."
"I'm glad.."
The group watched as Luna entered the arena next, with her lance in hand. The arena switched back to its normal cream colored walls and floor, making everyone sigh in relief.
A giant spider appeared, making the crowd gasp in shock. Luna, confident as ever, swung her lance and braced for impact.
Instead of lunging towards her, however, it waited. It was waiting for Luna to attack it. Luna's power was to read the opponents next move- but it would get a lot harder to use on offense.
Nevertheless, Luna charged towards the spider, aiming directly for its heart when it blocked her blow. She rolled underneath its legs, her spear constantly swinging to block all of it's legs swinging. Luna knew exactly where each leg was about to hit and when, so the fight continued on.
The spider cried out as her spear nicked its leg, and Luna smirked, rearing back her weapon and aiming for its head. As she propelled her arm forward, it grabbed her spear with its legs, and Luna's eyes widened in confusion. It... wasn't what she had calculated.
It forced her spear away from her hands, despite her desperate fingers trying her best to hang on. Terrified, she began to run, only for the spider to shoot out a stream of web and pull her out. She screamed in terror as it dragged her closer to its huge mouth, reaching desperately for her spear that was right above her- so close but so far-
CHOMP.
"W-what-?" Saiko's eyes widened, and she turned to Satsuki, who seemed traumatized.
"L-Luna?"
Hey everyone! I hope you're all enjoying this book. Guess what, your author is up at 5:30 am because I don't know what I'm doing with my life, so I'm here to pump out a chapter for ya'll. What's sleep, I don't know.
Questions of the chapter: is your author evil?
Is that really the end for Luna?
Thanks for (1k) and reading!
