1.19 | Crash Landing

Capítulo XIX- Aterrizaje Forzoso

The moment Adam and Chase fixed their bionics, the group rushed upstairs to sort the house. "Okay, everything's cleaned up. Now, all we need is Bree," Leo said, fluffing out a throw pillow.

"No Problem. I'm tracking her right now," Chase motioned to the laptop on his lap, "according to this, she should be here any minute."

Bree super sped into the great room. A breeze hit their faces as she flung the door open, "That took forever. My phone died and I had to buy a map. A paper map," she repeatedly hit the paper. "I mean, do you know how hard it is to fold this thing up?" Bree threw the map.

"A map? I thought Chase sent you the coordinates?" Patience picked up the map and folded it.

Bree furrowed her eyebrows at him, "What coordinates? I didn't get any coordinates."

"What? If Bree's here, then what are you tracking?" Adam hovered over Chase's shoulder. Patience sat next to Chase on the couch and peeked at the computer, figuring out why it was rapidly beeping.

"I don't know. It's probably just a bird." As the laptop beeped faster, the window smashed. Shattered glass and ragged wood spewed across the great room. The five teens jumped as a drone flew into the center of the room. Patience and Chase hopped off the couch and Chase clutched the laptop, "Or not."

They ran over to the drone, waving their hands to get rid of the smoke taking over their vision. They glanced down at the drone and Chase notified them, "Guys, this is one of Mr. Davenport's drones. I must have sent it the coordinates instead of Bree!"

"Oh, yeah. A giant flying piece of metal and a teenage girl. I see how you can get that messed up," rebuked Leo.

"I messed it up because my vision was impaired by you, Mr. touchy-stuffy mommy-misser."

Leo directed his attention away from Chase, putting his arm out, "Chase, let's not play the blame game.

"Guys, this drone controls all of Mr. Davenport's GPS technology, including the plane he's flying on right now."

"What! Why would he keep the command center for all of his technology flying around in the sky?"

     "Probably because you're down here."

"Okay, well it's already been done and we can't do anything to reverse it," Patience spoke up, "But we can fix... all of this before Tasha and Mr. Davenport get home." Patience pointed at Bree and Leo, "We'll clean up the glass and you two fix the drone."

"Since when did you start hiding things from my mom and Davenport?"

"Since we met Adam, Bree, and Chase," she tucked the map in her purse, "and I'd rather still be allowed to come over," replied Patience.

"Yeah, I could see why," Adam smiled, glancing at the broken drone.

Patience muttered underneath her breath, "I need new friends."

The teens proceeded to clean up the mess. Leo, Bree, and Patience swept the glass careful not to get harmed by the shards as Chase and Adam fixed the drone. Patience picked up the wood from the top of the sticks, unwanting to get splinters in her hands.

Patience threw them in the trash, then checked her hands for splinters. "All right, that's the last of the broken glass," Bree tossed the glass in the trash.

     "And the drone is fixed."

"Go ahead, Chase, hop in," Adam taunted, laughing. "That's a joke 'cause you're so tiny."

"Yet my brain is still twice the size of yours."

     "Oh, yeah? Well- I- I-"

     "Mhm."

     "Yeah, you got me."

"What about the window?" Bree pointed.

"We'll deal with that later," Leo said walking to the front door.

Patience furrowed her eyebrows at Bree's nails, "Are those acrylics or glue ons," she inspected Bree's hand. "Where did you go?"

"Let's focus on getting Adam and the drone outside so we can launch it off the roof and back into the sky," Leo opened the door.

"You guys can do that. I'll help Bree get these false nails off," Patience offered.

Leo tripped over his feet and shut the door blurting, "They are walking up the driveway. They are walking up the driveway!"

Adam shuffled around not knowing where to put the drone. Bree shoved him and Adam sped off to hide it. Bree, Chase, Leo, and Patience stood in the center of the great room with their arms on each other's shoulder. Mr. Davenport and Tasha smiled coming into their home.

"You are on the list, cupcake," Eddy threatened Tasha.

Tasha put up her fist, "Okay!"

"Hey, what do you know? The house is still in one piece," Mr. Davenport shrugged.

Leo stepped towards Tasha while the group dispersed, "Welcome home, mommy."

"Mm. Okay," she narrowed her eyes at him, then at Bree, Chase, and Patience as she hugged Leo. "What are you guys up to?"

"Just chillin'. Ya know. We didn't do anything. Nothing happened. Nothing at all. You two, always so suspicious." Bree held up her pointer finger. Her eyes widened, hiding her nails behind her back.

Mr. Davenport hummed and observed the house, "I don't smell any fires. And no one's in a full-body cast. Wait where's Adam?"

     "Adam? Uh, Adam is-"

"Right here warming up your welcome home hugs. Bring it in, peoples!" he cut off Chase. Adam embraced Tasha and Davenport while they glanced up at him suspiciously. "Oh! Okay," he let go making his way to Bree, Chase, Leo, and Patience.

     "Well, I guess we overreacted."

"Right. I will go reschedule our trip to Australia. This time on a big plane with an actual pilot," Tasha said. The beeping noise returned and Mr. Davenport's forehead creased. Tasha glimpsed around the room asking, "What is that?"

The drone crashed in the room, creating a hole in the ceiling. The teens grimaced and tucked their hands to their chests'. Patience pursed her lips as Adam leaned towards Chase, "By the way, we forgot to reset the coordinates."

"Reset the coordinates!" Mr. Davenport exclaimed. He clapped his hands once and stomped, "It looks like somebody touched my stuff!"

     Leo squeaked, "Mommy."

In the lab, Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo, and Patience surrounded the center cyber desk. Patience sat on the desk kicking her legs as Mr. Davenport walked in. "So, nothing else happened while I was gone?"

Adam pursed his lips, "No, just the drone thing."

Chase agreed, "Yep, just that drone thing."

Mr. Davenport waved his hands around, "Just the drone thing. Ah, anybody wants to see a slide show?"

Leo and Patience raised their hands. "Oh!" Adam gasped.

"Is it Australia?" Bree leaned forward.

"No!" he chuckled. "It's my surveillance cameras that show everybody's movements throughout the entire house." He scrolled through the pictures of Adam, Bree, and Chase acting them out, "'Huh. I never thought of using my priceless guitar as a hammer.' 'Hey, what happens if I stick my head in here?' 'Now that my hair's big, I can get on all the rides.' 'Here we are exploring the deep, dark waters of idiocy.' Ha, ha, ha."

     "So..."

"So you're all grounded forever!" Mr. Davenport dramatically laughed. "Including you, Patience," he continued to laugh, exiting the lab.

Patience merely pursed her lips and nodded, "Yeah, that's fair."
