Ragini Gadodia a sweet simple and traditional girl stays at Kolkatta with her paternal Grandmother Parvati Deendayal Gadodia (Dadimaa), Grandfather Deendayal Gadodia (Dadaji) and her Father Shekhar Deendayal Gadodia. Her mother Janki Gadodia died when she was very little so she always missed a mothers love. Though everyone in the house loved her alot she felt that love missing but never complained. She was all that a typical Marwari family wanted, a girl who never back answers, does as her elders says and prays to her Kanhaji and Gannuji everyday.

And her exact opposite was her neighbour/ her secret friend Swara Bose, chirpy bubbly, naughty and free spirited girl. She stayed with her Mom Sharmishtha Bose (Sumi/ Maa) and her maternal grandmother Neelima Bose (Dida/ Nanimaa). Being a bengali she and her family was always hated by Parvati. 

Neelima and Parvati shared a love hate relationship you can call them Frenemies. Ragini and Swara loved to sing, while Ragini loves to play Sitar guitar is Swara's life. Swara always is concerned for Ragini, unknowingly she feels her pain. Ragini on the other hand likes Swara but is afraid to befriend her infront of everyone because of her Dadimaa. 

In a search for a good groom for Ragini her grandparents meet the Maheshwari's. The Maheshwari's are the mostly knowned people of the town. Durgaprasad Maheshwari the eldest of the Maheshwari's  and his wife Annapurna Maheshwari agree instantly for the marriage of their younger son Lakshya Maheshwari with Ragini. 

Here Swara clashes with Lakshya Maheshwari and they have a fight. When she comes home she gets the news of Ragini's alliance with some Maheshwari but doesn't know who it is. On the day of engagement she sees him and recognizes to be the one she fought with and finds him fishy. To know about him more better and so that Ragini doesn't end up with any wrong guy she starts keeping a tab on him. One day she find Laksh with a girl going for shopping and having fun she shoots everything and comes home to show this to Shekhar who fumes in anger. The gadodias leave for the Maheshwari mansion where along with Durgaprasad Maheshwari they go to the venue where Lakshya is and to their dismay the girl is found to be his muh boli (Sworn sister) and it was her engagement so he helped her in shopping. Now the Maheshwari's counter anger on the gadodia's but the alliance doesn't break.

In all these confusions a secret about Sharmishtha's past gets revealed infront of Swara, about her father. Shekhar and Sharmishtha were childhood sweethearts but due to their family clashes they never revealed about it to any one. Shekhar got married and Sharmishtha being preganant with his child didn't reveal it to him not wanting to break their family. As time passed Sharmishtha got married but couldn't stay with her husband so returned back home to the Baadi with Swara. And the duo met again, one day on the terrace when they were having a light chat about their past which Janki, shekhar's wife heard them. A literal shock for her and so was for Parvati who couldn't bare it and started yelling at them and leaving from there, Janki who felt stabbed in her heart didn't utter a word but tried to stop her mother in law from doing any harms and in all these Parvati pushed Janki standing next to the stairs resulting in her falling all down the stairs and hitting her head fatally. Janki's death brought a turmoil in their lives and after that day the secret was spoken to none.

Swara extremely upset with all the happenings left home and got kidnapped by Laksh who wanted a revenge from her. In the fake kidnapping someone really kidnapped Swara and Laksh had to save her in return. Here as sumi started searching for swara she came face to face with shekhar and revealed to him about Swara being his daughter.

Which was heard by a distraught Ragini, who was till then blaming Sumi for her mother Janki's death because that's what her dadimaa said to her. Swara was ultimately found and the hatred for her in Ragini's heart again turned into love. But not forever, as their secret love got revealed in front of the world and Swara being their illegitimate child Mr. Durgaprasad Maheshwari came there to insult them in front of the whole samaj (Society). 

And for the first time, Ragini voiced out against him. She stood for her family and warned them that it was none of their so called society's business to interfere in their family matters. She held Swara's hand and declared her as her sister making her extremely happy and joining Ragini even she lashed out at the Maheshwari's. 

Durgaprasad asks Lakshya to break the alliance by returning the ring and he complies making Ragini extremely hurt but she doesn't break. Everyone makes them understand not to do so but to their surprise Ragini herself removes her engagement ring and returns it back to Lakshya.

With all gone and done they now hope for a good ending but Parvati and Deendayal go for a suicide attempt letting the long lost love birds to not get together again. Here Laksh is been thrown out of the Maheshwari Family for standing against his father and for the first time taking his name, Sanskar....

Laksh comes to the baadi and with the help of Swaragini gets to stay there. Now the trio plan on uniting Dadi and Dida for Shekhar and Sumi's marriage which they succeed soon. But unknown that it was just Dadi's wicked plan to separate them again. This Swara doubts Dadi's intentions and one night succeeds in showing her true face to everyone. Which ends up again as a shock for both Ragini and Shekhar. Shekhar goes straightaway and marries Sumi in front of everyone declaring her his lawful wife cheering up both the sisters.

As time passes Ragini starts feeling for laksh who unknowingly falls for Swara. As the duo Swalak (Swara and Laksh) share a good bonding ragini starts feeling weird to see them together.

One day when everyone is just busy with their work a mysterious person enters baadi with people following to hit him he straightly enters into the Gadodia house and holds a knife on Ragini's neck. Sh first gets afraid but later realizing that he is mentally unstable she carefully handles him and cares for him, annoying parvati but making Dida happy. 

There enters Laksh along with Swara who claims him to be his elder brother Sanskar, Ramprasad (Durgaprasads younger brother) and his wife Sujatha's son. He hugs sanskar who doesn't recognize him nor his crying mother who enters there just then. He calls them liars and holds onto Ragini who makes him understand that they are his family and he should be with them.

Sanskar agrees and leaves with them only on a promise that she would visit him. As time passes Sanskar and Ragini bond well making him the sole reason for Laksh's agreement on their alliance. But before the engagement could even commence Laksh confesses his feelings for Swara infront of her leaving her distraught, Sanskar hears all this and is upset himself thus revealing that he isn't mad but acting to be mentally unstable so that he could get back to the Maheshwari's and complete his revenge. Soon this secret is known to his mother too and she joins him with his plan.

While the engagement doesn't happen a second time, the elders because of sujatha find out that Laksh and Swara are in love, which is known by Ragini who is distraught and runs errands. An accident happens and she is seriously injured, everyone prays for her safety while she recovers at first she ignores Swara but later does a drama of drinking poison to bring Laksh and Swara together. But they don't budge so at night before Swara's birthday she asks her help in sneaking out and when out she leaves swara near a garden where Laksh is waiting for her. She doesn't intent to talk to him but then Ragini gets kidnapped and she has to follow them along with Laksh, while the kidnapper keeps a weird condition of them dancing together and celebrating if they want Ragini freed it is revealed that the kidnapper is none other than Sanskar. The duo agree to his irrelevant demands and Ragini is found with her head hurt and bleeding in Laksh's car.

As Swara consoles Ragini the duo reach home along with Laksh only to find their video from last night leaked and everyone ranting at Swara laksh questioning about her feelings for him. The police arrives and arrests Laksh, later Swara bails him out and brings him to baadi as the maheshwari's deny to take him in. 

Ragini gets irked at this and goes to the Mandir where it is found that sanskar is waiting for her along with his mother. As he goes to her and sits on the bench she feeds him prasad and for the first time he talks to her as a normal person. A flashback reveals that when Ragini was in hospital Sanskar had gone to visit her and there his secret gets revealed. He convinces Ragini to join him and get back her first love. She agrees and then began their plans to separate Swara and Laksh. Ragini was kidnapped by Sanskar and inorder to make the duo agree Ragini forced Sanskar to hit her and make a video which he unwillingly agreed. As the flashback ends Ragini cries while Sanskar observes her worried he calms her down by saying that she is doing nothing wrong and its her right to get her first love back which he unfortunately never got.

Then they make several plans but all fail but they dont get caught, meanwhile Swara has her doubts on Sanskar being well Ragini tries to remove her attention away from him. She tries to protect him so much so that she gets herself hurt which hurts Sanskar. While the families fix an alliance of Swara and Laksh here Dida gets know about Ragini and Sanskar she's about to inform it to the others but she falls down and hurts her head leading into coma. This breaks down Ragini completely but her obsession doesn't seem to end. She makes Swara drunk and dance like crazy in the Sangeet and even tries Black magic to destroy her.

Finally comes the wedding day the day which she dreamed to be hers, the day she dreamed of exchanging vows with her Laksh ji will she succeed in doing so or will she repent for her mistakes and take a right decision on right time?

Hey guys heres an short excerpt to all those who don't know nothing about Swaragini and for all others its a sweet flashback through the memory lane. It might not be all correct as happened in the serial so don't complain okay ? ;)  It was a fanfiction and will be a fanfiction. But theres lot of mystery ahead in the story so I'll keep this in mystery thriller. The story and the characters are NOT owned by me, just a fan when I started this and when its ending I think this needs to be said, Sangini was the sole reason I watched the TV series and I still get happy when I see them together offscreen or onscreen. I just love them alot and this is just one but there are lot more stories to come and don't worry I've left it in a cliffhanger but would not end it like that few more chapters to go guys!!
