الوداع
الودع
Let me speak today. Over the course of these past few months you have kept me company with your comments. Everything that you have said has made me laugh in between classes, and during commute. It's kept me going through the hardest phase of university, and much more. There is so much I want to write about Darab and Golnar. Yet anytime I sit to write farewell notes, my words fall short ; they fail to let me express the finery that they are.
I first began Sang e Khisht in August of 2022. It started as a passion project for me to begin writing works that are closer to my Pakistani origins. Something that got lost in translation in the last few books. After A Court's Maim, I was so blued and bruised by Aliyaar's character I needed to write someone who was a distant reflection of him. Someone who was crude and bruised, powerful and ready to ruin. Writing Darab was like a balm to my heart. I was finally able to write a character who was gravely misunderstood. He was written to fail your expectations and then to soar in the last few ; winning the love of not only Golnar but all of you as well.
Golnar, what can I say about her? There isn't anything my words can express. She was the epitome of kindness and her forgiveness to Darab was a testament to her own self. That she was not her mother. She was his wife but more so his professor not because she was more learned than he was, but instead because she was able to capture who he was and treat him with kindness she would give to a perfect person as well. Golnar let Darab be himself but her own soul showed him what love was.
She fixed and showed him what God's love was. I think that's the best thing about Sang e Khisht. In the underlines and between them lines ; there was a message : love for God comes hidden and not packaged in gold and silver on shelves.
Now on to some fun stuff :
— this is not the end for Darab & Golnar
— there is one epilogue
— and I heard someone (the streets) say there were 6 bonus chapters focused on simple DarNae fluff
خدا کے ایمان میں۔
