Hoseok turned over, a pulled muscle in his neck keeping him awake. His boyfriend of three years shifted closer, to "steal his warmth" as he always put it.

He smiled as his boyfriend's mouth formed a pouty frown in his sleep.

He'd always been Yoongi's perfect complement - keeping him warm when he was cold, cheering him up when the world was just too much, bringing energy to his exhausted mornings and peace to his stressful nights.

They completed each other-

"Jungkook-ah-"

Oh. Except that.

They both worked with Jungkook in a small sandwich shop on campus and Hoseok was sure that Yoongi had a thing for him.

And it was getting obvious.

Not only did Yoongi occasionally whimper the name in his sleep (in tandem with Hoseok's) but when they were all on the same shift together at work, Yoongi barely functioned.

Alternating staring at his boyfriend. And Jungkook.

And Hoseok wasn't upset about it. How could he be - Jungkook was a fucking Adonis.

And he toasted the bread just perfectly. 👌

Since Jungkook started working at the shop with them six months ago, Hoseok had many thoughts of his own about locking the shop early and enlisting them both into finding new uses for the spatula. [a/n idek guys, am i okay?]

Despite knowing that he and his boyfriend had simultaneous crushes on the same man, they'd never addressed it.

Don't misunderstand, this wasn't a problem.

Hoseok and Yoongi were very open and honest with each other about finding other people attractive. Whether "real" people, idols, or other celebrities, they typically shared - and teased each other - about their appreciation for other people.

They were secure in their relationship and even though once in a while they'd playfully argue ("My bias would never forget to do the dishes!") they always went to bed together.

And, yet, somehow that didn't make this any easier.

Jungkook was different.

Hoseok tried to broach the subject once with his boyfriend, not naming names, but asking if Yoongi would ever be interested in bringing another into their bed.

He saw the flash of desire in the smaller man's eyes, but what left his lips was the opposite.

"You're the only one I could ever need."

A lie.

But Hoseok wasn't worried. He knew his boyfriend well enough to understand that it was a lie to spare his feelings rather than mislead him.

So he tabled the discussion at the time, with no plans to bring it up again.

For now.

just know that  once the song "clicked" for me, 

i was dancing as i wrote whenever i sat down to work on this

for track one, i added the song at the top of every chapter, should i continue doing that? i never know what's better because some of you can listen and read and for some it doesn't work 😔
