Oh Brother...

Author's Note: I'm gonna be honest. This story kind of wrote itself. It's a good story and it makes me laugh reading it, but its much different than other stories I wrote. It kind of has the same tone as Ad'fix'tion, because this is a fic exploring Roman and Remus's childhood in a sense of how they acted when they were first split from the original creativity whoever that was. I don't give actual ages, but they can be anywhere between ten and eighteen. Use your imagination. It has a darker tone, because I like the idea that Roman and Remus didn't want to be split up, but they had to and then as they got older they filled out their roles and began to genuinely hate each other. This fic is an interpretation of their earlier brotherly relationship in my point of view. I hope you all enjoy!

The stick of chalk squeaked across the floorboards as it drew a line, separating the red half of the room from the green half. A young princey stood on the red half, glaring at his younger brother while manipulating the piece of chalk with his conjuring powers. Remus just picked his nose, watching Roman foolishly draw a line down the middle of the room, as if he thought it would work. Once the young prince finished, he composed himself with a deep breath before raging at his brother again.

"Ok, brother." He spat. "Pay attention! This," He gestured to the green side of the room. "Is your side of the room. This," He pointed back to the red side of the room. "Is my side of the room! There is a line down the middle splitting our halves! I do not care what you do on your side of the room brother, as long as you keep whatever it is that you are doing on your side of the room! So, in other words: DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE!" Young Remus just stared down at the line of chalk, wondering how he could better annoy his brother.

"So...when you say cross...does that mean I can dooooo this!?" Remus excitedly flicked the booger he had just picked from his nose onto Roman's side of the room. The prince about screamed in horror.

"EWWWW!! No no no no no! Dematerialize it! Immediately!" The duke just chuckled and whisked his hand. All evidence of the slimy booger vanished before their eyes. Roman sighed with relief.

"Thank god. That is absolutely crossing the line in all aspects!" Remus just giggled evilly.

"But I didn't touch it. You see? Crossing the line would be this..." He knelt down and dragged his finger through the white chalk, looking directly at his brother with a cheeky grin. Roman screeched again and slapped his hand away making Remus's giggles turn into fully fledged maniacal laughter.

"NO NO NO! You dirty rotten filth of a...of a..." Roman trailed off, not wanting to say something his brother would. Unfortunately, the young duke finished the thought for him.

"Of a butthole?" Remus grinned at him.

"Of a term you don't like!" Roman shot back. "But there is nothing I can call you, that you wouldn't take offense of! I bet I could call you 'cutie' and it would do nothing!" Remus kicked at the ground on his side of the room, blushing shyly.

"Awww Bro...I didn't realize you felt the same way." Roman shuddered in disgust.

"You sicken me. So keep your sick nasty business and boogers on your side of the line!"

"You still haven't told me what does and does not cross the line though, dear brother!" Remus stroked the tiny moustache starting to grow along his upper lip. If Roman could have exploded with anger, he would have just then.

"ARGH! It's anything that crosses over into my side of the room!" Remus's eyes widened as an evil idea came to his head. He reached his arm over and quickly booped Roman on the nose, making the Prince squeak and fall on his bum.

"So...that was crossing the line?" Roman pouted, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Absolutely you nincompoop! You know it was."

"But...what if something of mine accidentally lands on your side of the room...and I really need it! What will I do then?" He made a fake whiny voice, knowing Roman was too kind-hearted to keep it away from him.

"I'll...throw it back. Just like I expect you to, if something of mine lands on your side of the room!"

"Oh no worries. Just as long as I don't call... 'No take backsies!'" Remus sing-songed. Roman gasped!

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Maybe...maybe not. Who knows with me anyways?" He winked, quickly noting that Roman was still sitting on the floor quite close to him. "So...if something is just out of my reach on your side of the room...can I grab it?" Roman squinted his eyes.

"It depends..."

"Depends on what?"

"It depends on how important it is!" Remus inwardly smirked. Roman was so stupid sometimes.

"Well I see something right now that I need on your side of the room that's quite important!" Remus gestured with a nod. Roman raised his eyebrows in response, looking around him wildly.

"Where!?" Remus grinned.

"Right here!" He reached out and grabbed Roman's foot, pulling it over the line and onto his side of the room. Roman screeched again.

"AAAH!" The young duke grinned, successfully having gotten Roman to cross the line. He mock gasped.

"Whats this?!" He covered his mouth in horror as Roman tried to kick his way out of Remus's grip, but the duke held fast. "Roman...has crossed his own line?! The line he was so adamant that I not cross?!" He put his hand over his heart. "It cannot be! Has my brother finally acknowledged his hypocritical ways?!"

Roman spat, still trying to free his foot. "You bastard! That was your doing!"

"But...look here Roman! It's your foot...in my space! I only grabbed what was important, but you never specified who it had to be important too!" Remus's smile curled as wide as the grinch. Roman quickly realized he was losing this battle.

"N-no! Let me go!" Remus ignored him and eyed his boots.

"Hmmm do these boots have a zipper?" He smiled and began to unzip the prince's footwear leaving his captive foot in only a white sock.

"No! Stop! Please! Don't!"

"Oh come now, brother. I'm not going to hurt you. But I do think you need a bit of punishment for crossing your own line. I mean, it would only be fair, wouldn't it?" He grinned, taking his fingertips and pulling off the prince's sock, slowly and teasingly.

Roman began to thrash, trying harder than ever to get out of Remus's grasp. The duke responded by quickly sitting on Roman's leg, his foot now completely trapped and helpless. It certainly didn't help Roman's case that he was now lying face down.

"I can't believe that now we are separated, I can finally think, feel, and do my own things now! And because I have your foot trapped here, I can torture you as I please!" His eyes sparkled gleefully, watching as Roman's foot wiggled helplessly under him. "Tell me Roman. Are your toes ticklish?" Roman didn't dare open his mouth, or even look in his direction.

The duke harrumphed and conjured a feather in his hand. "Well. We will find out soon enough!" He lowered the feather towards Roman's trapped foot and began to saw back and forth in between the toes. Roman's foot instantly began twitching and the duke deduced it wouldn't be long before Roman would begin to giggle.

The feather quickened it's pace and soon, the duke was sporadically switching between crevices separating the toes. Like he predicted, the young prince was beginning to giggle behind his pursed lips. Remus doubled his efforts and lined his second hand up with Roman's foot. His pointer and third finger then began to gently swipe across his sole. Like lightning was how fast the prince reacted. Not only did the foot begin to wiggle, so did Roman's whole body. Remus scratched harder and quicker, disregarding the feather for his fingertips. And that was when Roman's dam of giggles broke.

The young prince giggled despite his mood, beating the floor in an effort to quell Remus's satisfaction from escaping from his lips. "Nohohohohoho! Rehehehemus youhohohou bahahahastard!!!"

"Well thank you for the kind words! I certainly shall take them to heart." He pin pointed his tickles towards the middle of Roman's sole and switched to his fingernails, watching as the change of touch caused a snort to escape Roman's mouth.

"Oh?!" Remus exclaimed. "Is my brother a little piggy? I think my brother's a little piggy!"

"Youhohoh're the ohohnly swhihihine here!" Remus just grinned, his hand now delicately scuttering under all five of Roman's toes. This caused the prince to flail his other limbs around trying desperately to get away from Remus's evil movements. The duke kept hold of his foot however while batting at his other leg, deciding some teases might weaken his twin even further.

"Speaking of piggies...I seem to have five right here!" He took the largest toe with his pointer and thumb, gently wiggling it. "This little piggy went to the market." Remus could just hear the blush spread in his brother's voice.

"NAHAHAHAHA STAHAHAP NAHAHAHAT THAHAHAHT! That's fohohor bahahabies!"

"Babies just like you!" Remus shot back. "Now where was I? Oh yes!" He gently grasped Roman's second toe, wiggling it just like the big toe. "This little piggy stayed home."

"STOHOHOHOP!!" Roman's voice became quickly muffled by his own hands. Remus smiled wickedly.

"This little piggy had roast beef." He continued down the line. "This little piggy had none!" At this point, Roman was a squealing blushing mess. "And this little piggy went whee whee whee all the way...HOME!" At the last word, Remus dug all 10 of his fingers in Roman's sole, tickling as rigorously as possible without actually causing harm to Roman. The prince was cackling madly when he wasn't screaming his head off.

"STAHAHAHAHAP!!! STHAHAHAHPPP!!! STAHP! IHihih'll DOHOHO anyTHINg!!! Juhuhust STAHAHAHP!" Remus's ears twitched at that.

"Anything, dear brother?" He repeated.

"AHAHHAAHNYTHINGGG!!" Remus smirked.

"Wonderful!" He ceased his attacks. "Then, I want you to erase the chalk line and accept that I'm your brother and that we have to share a space for now regardless of whether we like it or not."

Roman wheezed, trying to regain his lost breath. Remus released him and he stood up, wobbling about until he found his balance again. "Wh...what? Thats...thats it?"

"Well I have many other things I can make you do if that's truly not enough for you." The same sinister grin settled itself on the Duke's face.

"NO! No! No...please no. That's...that's not what I meant. But like..." Roman trailed off as a rare expression of sincerity danced across Remus's face.

"Look Roman. The reason why we split is because Thomas has assigned us different roles and our roles align with our hatred for each other. And it's going to be that way from now on, unless Thomas sees fit to sew his creativity back up together again, but I doubt that's going to happen. So. We currently share a room. Let's make it a truce that this room be the only place where we tolerate each other. You can draw all the chalk lines that you want outside. I could care less. I'll still cross them. But we need our living spaces, or else we are going to go mad. Madder than we already are." Roman frowned but nodded.

"Okay. Then...let's have this room be a no talking zone then. We both can't say anything nice to each other, so we shouldn't say anything at all. Logan taught that to me." Remus scoffed at the logical side's mention, but nodded.

"Fine. Sounds good to me. They do say ignorance is bliss. And if it works it works." Roman pouted a little, but snapped his fingers knowing full well Remus could have done much worse if he wanted too since Roman had run out of willpower during the tickling. The chalk line disappeared and Remus took a deep breath of relief.

"Ahhh. Much better! I don't hear my brother screaming at me anymore about a dumb white line." Roman held himself back from saying anything mean and looked away from the duke.

"When are we going to start the no talking rule?" Roman replied instead, folding his arms across his chest, glaring at the hideous green wall. Remus followed suit of his brother, taking another sigh as well.

"Now is as good as any I guess." It was silent for a couple more moments, before Roman decided to speak one last time.

"For the record...I will always be better than you." Remus gave a sad chuckle, his shoulders dropping ever so slightly.

"I know..."

Author's Note Part 2: Yup. That's it! It's actually quite sad if you really think about it. Remus said he was the unloved brother from the start. During the Sander's sides videos it wouldn't bother him because like Logan said about Jeffhrey Dahmer, he grew out of those feelings. But back when Roman and Remus were younger...he must have felt something about it. I'm sorry I like to geek out about villains that used to be redeemable. So Just as a heads up. Tomrrows the fourth of July which means I won't be posting anything tomorrow. But Thomas will be doing a live stream so make sure to attend that if you can! <3 you all and have a Happy fourth of July! Or if you don't celebrate it, then have a good day! Ceffy out!
