Let me just say this, this did not go how I wanted it to at all. But, I wrote it, it's cute. The folks in discord liked it, so that means it's good? I guess. Anyway, I'll throw this at your faces and I hope you enjoy! I really enjoy this AU I've created and I have all my pairings squared away for it. I will link a tumblr post so you can read more about the AU if you're interested. Also leave a comment if you want a sequel or another pairing in the same AU in the far future. (Fair warning there is some sexual content in the link, so read at your own risk. Also, you'll have to copy and paste it. Sorry. :/ )

For the longest time, humans thought they were alone in the universe as there were no aliens or life forms on any nearby planets, but they were dead wrong. From the Dwarf planet of Eris arose a fleet of what Earthlings would call aliens, ready to make contact with their neighbors down the street. Once they reached their moon (assuming they could fast travel with wormholes or hyperspace), they landed on the dark side and set up their own shelter so they could breathe.
Radio contact was made between the races and meeting times were formed. The entire Earth went berserk when the news of aliens swept across the nations. People were excited, confused, and scared. So, when the aliens on the moon said they come in peace and would like to meet on the moon, many world leaders allowed Nasa to build them a spaceship. They were finally going to meet the aliens face to face.
When the races met, the humans were surprised. They did not expect the aliens to look slightly human. The minor changes being reptilian features and extra limbs. Some of them even had wings and long tongues, but overall they could speak just as well as humans. Once the different languages had been translated, it was found that the aliens were in dire need of help. Their planet was losing the natural oxygen that allowed them to breathe and thus needed a new planet that had a similar atmosphere as Earth.
The world leaders said they would like to, but the Earth was already going through overpopulation and they weren't sure if they could house them. The aliens then proposed to teach humans how to build colonies on different planets with warp technology, if they agreed to let them live on Earth. The whole world agreed enthusiastically and a friendship was formed between the two races.
The Reptilians were what the world labeled the outsiders, but they were accepted with open arms. It took every Reptilian months to truly understand the human culture because they all agreed humans were utterly bizarre. But none believed it more than Daunte Hreshovar, an alien who had been on the contact ship before the rest of the race migrated over. Once Daunte was able to settle down, he worked with other reptilians to get them settled into their new homes as well. On the inside, he was excited about life on earth but didn't know how to best show it.
He had seen and heard more than most of the other Reptilians, but the more he heard and saw, the more confused he was. He was one of the first reptilians on earth and chose the small state of Florida as his new home. Daunte was quickly accepted into the community and was given a room in a nearby hotel to sleep in until they could build him a house. He learned as much as he could in that room, like what a phone and bed were. He was all too curious about humans means of communication, transportation, and other daily activities. Those viewing him from afar would have called his curiosity and fascination adorable.
Two months into his life on earth, Daunte had met a peculiar human named Patton and through him learned about human relationships, both platonic and romantic. The reptilian had met with him frequently in order to explore intimate platonic activities humans would perform with their friends. Some of these activities were movies, bowling, cake decorating, and taking walks in parks. Today, Patton had invited Daunte over to his house on the second floor of the bakery he owned to explore yet another activity.
When he walked into the front door of the bakery, Patton stood there wearing that same bright smile that always warmed Daunte's, cold-blooded heart. "Well how dee doo, Daunte? Good to see you, tonight! Sorry it's a bit later than normal, but there's a reason I wanted to wait until night." Daunte tipped his hat and greeted Patton with his normal polite bow.
Patton giggled. "Oh look at you, already to learn about humans! Well, today's lesson is going to be a little different. I first need to ask. Have you enjoyed spending time with me?" Patton began to make his way towards the stairs, watching as Daunte pondered over his question.
"On Eris, the concept of fun was nonexistent to us. The closest feeling to it was physical pleasure, however I do believe I understand the concept better than I first did. But, to answer your question yes I believe I am having fun." Daunte caught eye contact with Patton and smiled, like how he had been taught to greet humans he was familiar with.
Patton ascended the stairs and grasped one of the reptilians many hands in his as he led him up to his house on the second floor. "That's good. And I hope you have just as much fun with our lesson today! I will admit, it might be a little bit awkward though." Daunte noticed the blush spreading across Patton's cheeks and he squeezed the human fingers in his hold lightly, hoping to quell any nervousness he might feel.
"It will be alright. As a reptilian, nothing could make us feel uncomfortable except for pain and death." They talked and laughed together as Daunte followed Patton through the door at the top of the stairs and into the human's small apartment. The reptilian had been here before, but he enjoyed the sight every time he laid eyes upon it. He noticed it was cleaner than usual knowing Patton was not a very organized person, so this must have been some special occasion he had cleaned up for. "I've noticed you took the trash out. And there are no...papers around..." The couch looked like it was just dusted and vacuumed.
"Oh!" Patton exclaimed and scratched his neck in embarrassment. "Yeah...our activity today requires the couch. I didn't wanna lay in a bunch of papers and I didn't think you would either. It's hard owning a bakery. All the paperwork you have to fill out." Daunte didn't take his eyes off the couch and nodded absentmindedly.
"I can imagine..." He mumbled and walked to sit on the far end. He flicked his tongue into the air, tasting what appeared to be some form of scent-based air freshener. Patton had outdone himself with cleaning. "What activity requires us to use the couch then?"
Patton shifted back and forth nervously, as if he were rethinking the idea he had. "Well...how accustomed to touch are you Daunte?"
The reptilian thought. "Not very, why do you ask?"
"We humans are very touch-oriented, or at least most of us are." He moved to sit next to his friend on the couch. "I just thought I might teach you about a touch-based activity called cuddling!" Patton grinned wide and hid his nervousness behind that ever-blinding smile. Daunte had in fact heard of cuddling before. It was a common practice in human relationships where two people felt close to each other. The action did not have to be romantic is how the intent came across to Daunte.
"Cuddling..." He repeated. "I am aware of it, but have never participated. It is between two partners or close friends, correct?" Patton smiled and nodded. "You...think of me as a close friend?" The reptilian's eyes and he realized what Patton was indicating by asking him to cuddle. The blush on Patton's cheeks spread further to the tips of his ears.
"Yeah! Even if it's only been a few months, I've really enjoyed spending time with you. Also, I thought it might be good to get some practice in until you find your true partner! Whether that be human or reptilian."
For some reason, Daunte was not sure he wanted to look anywhere else for a mate. Could it be that he had developed established feelings for this loving human in front of him? How would a relationship like this even work? He had so many questions that couldn't be answered all at once. The most he could do is be patient and let Patton show him the figurative ropes of human relationships. "I appreciate that, Patton. So, how does one cuddle exactly?"
Patton scratched his chin thoughtfully. "There are many ways to do it, but the most common is to lay down on the couch together. I have a feeling you'll be an expert cuddler because of your many hands!" The baker would be lying if he said he wasn't excited to be cuddled by someone with a plethora of hands.
Daunte shrugged off his trenchcoat and laid it off to the side. "If that is the case, then I won't be needing this. What other clothing should I remove?"
Patton took this time to remove his own jacket and kick off his shoes. "Just your boots! No need to take off your socks. Wouldn't want your toesies cold!" Daunte did what was told and also took off his hat, setting it on top of his boots.
"My...toesies...?" Daunte questioned.
"Oh! These guys!" Patton took off a sock and held up his foot to him, wiggling his toes in the process. "Yours probably look a little different. I just said toesies because it's such a fun word to say!" Daunte flicked his tongue intrigued as he watched them wiggle back and forth.
"Toesies..." He hissed out, missing the gigantic blush that spread across Patton's face at the way he said the word. "I suppose it is a fun word to say. Do toesies play a role in cuddling?" Patton swallowed the blush.
"W-well! They can, it's not common though. How about we start with the basics and see where it takes us from there, yeah?" Patton put back on his sock. "The first thing we need to decide is who is going to lay on the couch and who is going to lay on top of the other person! Which position would you feel most comfortable with Daunte?"
The reptilian thought, pondering the position he would be in if he chose the top or bottom. "I would like the top if it is all the same to you."
"Of course!" Patton chirped and he laid across the couch, watching as Daunte adjusted his position to accommodate his feet and climb on top of him. They were now pressed together chest to chest. "Perfect. The first step of cuddling has been completed." Their noses were inches apart.
"Wonderful." Daunte calmly smiled. "What is next?"
Patton tapped his chin. "Well, we can wrap our arms around each other, like this!" Patton snaked his hands up past his sides and around his back, holding him close.
Daunte let out a little noise of comfort. "Oh. This is...quaint..." He responded, and wrapped his own three pairs of arms around Patton's back.
Patton made his own noise and shivered as he felt each hand meet in the space between his back and the couch cushions. "Just let me know if I'm too heavy for you!"
Daunte felt the impulse to gently lay his head on Patton's shoulder and sighed into the foreign comfort. "I will let you know if I am feeling discomfort, but as of now I like this cuddling."
Patton shivered again underneath Daunte's touch. "Thank you for doing this..." He breathed out. "Ever since my last break up, I've been missing this type of touch. I thought you might want to learn about it, while I rejuvenate my emotions."
"Your emotions rely on touch?" Daunte questioned.
"Mine do, but not every person does. All humans are weird in that way. What makes them happy or feel loved varies from person to person."
"And...you like being touched?" Daunte asked, raising his head from Patton's neck gently.
"Yeah." Patton began, his complexion changing from comfort to confusion when he felt Daunte's bottom pair of hands slither out from underneath his back.
"You may request where you would like to be touched." Patton's face burned again.
"Umm..." Oh, the thought of it was right there, but Patton scorned himself for having such a dirty mind. He settled for somewhere harmless. "My-y shoulders, if that's okay?" He felt his hands cup the sides of his shoulders and all pent up tension Patton had receded.
"Oooooooohhhh..." The reptilian smirked at Patton's relaxed state. Since Patton enjoyed touch so much, maybe he would be able to explore the platonic pleasures of touch Patton talked about. He began rubbing his shoulders up and down, applying pressure to his arms and biceps. "D-daunte..." Patton stuttered out.
"Ssssshhhhh..." His tongue flickered out of his mouth. "This is an activity that's commonly used in cuddling right?" Patton nodded, coherent thoughts unable to form themselves in his mind. "May I touch your toesies, Patton?" He asked after a moment of consideration.
Talk about a rude awakening for Patton's sanity. "Wah?! O-oh...I'm not sure you want too. They might be stinky." Daunte still held onto the human, but reached hand down to strip his sock off.
"Smells do not bother me, Patton." He gently removed the sock and Daunte pulled himself over Patton to get a better look at his feet. He lifted the ankle, eyeing the foot from all sides. It was small compared to his own foot and no scales were present. Only soft and pink skin. He traced a gloved hand across the flat of it and Patton made the most peculiar noise.
"AAH! Daunte!" He didn't say stop. Daunte ran his fingers across the skin in the same manner again and this time it seemed like Patton squealed.
"Are you in pain?" He looked back to the human who was still laying on the couch, finding his expression the most adorable thing on the planet.
"N-no! I'm just...ticklish." Patton said, regretting the outcome of the word.
Daunte furrowed his scaly brows in confusion. "Ticklish...? Is this ticklish part of cuddling?"
"I-it can be...?" Patton offered meekly, but he was cut off by another squeal when he felt Daunte run his fingers over his feet again. Except for this time he continued the action, thrusting a bout of giggles into the human's lungs. "AAH! Sthahahahahahap!" Thankfully for him, Daunte did.
"What is so hilarious?" He examined the foot again. "Am I failing to get a joke?"
Patton felt his heart explode for this adorable reptilian. "N-no...its a reflex thingy. If touched lightly on a body part with a lot of nerves, we humans laugh! Some people tickle during cuddling. I'm not sure why we laugh. We just do!"
"Hmmm..." Daunte looked his foot over again before tweaking each one of his tiny, pink digits. Patton exploded into giggles again and Daunte was immediately fascinated by this ticklish.
"You are ticklish here too?" Patton nodded through his giggles. Daunte then examined his leg and poked at the spot under his knee. "And here as well?"
"Da-a-aunte!!" Patton's whole leg jerked. "Sto-op teasing!"
"Teasing? I'm not...I'm...I'm very confused Patton." Even if he was confused, Patton's reactions to the tickling were very entertaining. He squeezed his inner thigh and it produced a high-quality snort from the human.
Daunte allowed himself to chuckle at the adorable situation. "Are you ticklish everywhere?" Daunte repositioned himself on Patton's chest in the same cuddle position as before and tickled up his sides into his armpits. By this point, the human was a giggling mess.
"Ahahahaha! Okay okay! Breahahahak please!!??" Daunte stopped and slipped all six of his hands behind Patton's back. They were both grinning at each other, but for different reasons.
"That was...fun." Daunte said. "May I continue after you have had your break?" Patton hid his face in Daunte's neck and nodded silently, unable to speak in fear that his voice would fail him. "Excellent." Daunte propped himself on one side of Patton with his elbow and thought back to his lessons in human anatomy. A hand stretched out and tweaked Patton's hip causing the human to gasp. He gathered that skin was more ticklish than overshirt, so he monitored Patton's complexion and gently lifted up the blue polo he was wearing.
He set his gloved hand on his belly and began to knead. "DAUNTE! ACK!" Patton shouted dissolving into even higher-pitched giggles than before. He noticed a small hole residing in the skin near the belt used to keep Patton's pants up. Scrunching his brows in curiosity, he peered down into it and noticed how shallow it was. The reptilian poked once, eliciting happy squeals from Patton.
"What is this, Patton?" The baker hid his face, unable to look his new crush in the eye.
"I-it's a belly button...all humans have one. It's how live birth grows inside a mother's womb." Daunte had never heard of that terminology before.
"And it's ticklish?"
Patton shrieked as he pressed a felted claw into the little dip. "...sometimes...?"
Daunte smirked. "Yours seems to be..." He wiggled the claw back and forth in it, then circled lightly around the rim. Watching Patton fall apart from this one little action was a sight he could get used to.
"Dauhuhuhahahahahaunte!!??" Patton shrieked and the reptilian reluctantly put his shirt back down.
"Apologies. I promise I won't continue for much longer." He reached up a pair of hands to Patton's face and wiggled his gloved hands along his neck.
"EEEEEE! Noooo! Nohohohot therhhehehere!" Daunte heard his plea and tweaked up to his ears instead. "AAHk! Hahahahaha! Ohohokay! Thahaht's enough." Daunte frowned, but stopped tickling and went back to holding the human below him again.
"Hah...hah...that was...thank you Daunte. I haven't had that good of laugh in awhile. I feel so much better. I can only take so much of that at one time though."
"I can understand. It seemed exhausting." Patton tapped his chin.
"I wonder if reptilians are ticklish." Patton thought, but Daunte shook his head.
"I doubt I am, but you are welcome to try." Patton grinned as Daunte let him sneak out from underneath his body and sit next to him. True to his words, Daunte didn't seem ticklish, until Patton tickled his sides. Daunte's eyes widened and he jerked his whole body away from the touch.
"That's tickling?!"
Patton grinned down at the reptilian. "Yep!" He made the same motion again and Daunte began to thrash. Chuckles spewed out of his mouth with each ticklish touch Patton gave him.
"Wahaahait! Stop stop!" Patton did and all six arms of Daunte flopped onto the couch like limp noodles. "That..." He began. "That is...very relieving. I feel...like I am a child again. Now I know your secret!" Daunte exclaimed and he sat up on the couch, looking at Patton in the eyes with a cute grin. "You like being tickled. And that is why you smile all the time."
Patton chuckled nervously. "Wehehll...it's not quite like that. But maybe my love for touch is part of it. Regardless though, I think I'd like to just cuddle for a bit. I'm kind of tuckered out from tickling." Daunte seemed disappointed but obeyed wrapping his six arms once again around the human he had begun to love.
"Patton? This...this was enjoyable. I think I would like to cuddle with you more often."
The human nuzzled into Daunte's neck and smiled, wondering if the reptilian had started sharing the same feelings as he did "I think I'd like that too, Daunte."
