Janus was faking being a better person just so he would be accepted. Then he plans to take over. However he slowly regrets this and falls in love with Patton. Eventually Remus realizes Janus won't go through with the plan anymore and tells Roman. Roman tells Patton and Janus is forced to go back to the darksides. Remus comforts Janus, but accidentally let's it slip that he was the one who told Roman. Janus returns to beg Patton for forgiveness. Patton forgives Janus and they kiss.

(This could also have a sequel that's just Janus becoming friends with the other light sides, a mainly fluff sequel with maybe some Remus angst.)

Roman goes missing and Remus is the only one to notice. Remus disguises as Roman just to keep up appearances, as Remus secretly looks for Roman. Remus as Roman slowly starts to fall in love with Virgil, who thinks he's falling for Roman. Janus decides to visit the dark scape to see Remus only to see he's not there. Now everyone is looking for Remus while he is disguised as Roman. During a search of the imagination Remus is revealed to not be Roman. Janus is relieved, but Virgil is upset and thinks everything that Remus told him was a lie. Soon they do find Roman and bring him home. Roman and Virgil talk. Virgil asks if Roman likes him. Roman politely declines saying he has his eyes on a certain logical side, but he says his brother seems to genuinely like Virgil. Virgil and Remus make up and get together.

(This is from way back immediately after moving on, but an alternative where Patton continues to fake happiness)

Patton is really sad and doesn't believe his friends actually care about him. He walks in the imagination and plans to commit not alive when he meets Remus walking in the woods. Remus takes him to the dark scape where he and Janus (still know as deceit) live. The three grow really close and slowly Patton joins Janus and Remus' relationship. But then Roman finds where Patton is and believes the darksides kidnapped him. Patton is take back home and isn't allowed to leave. Virgil and Logan catch Patton trying to leave, but Patton is able to convince them he truly loves the others. The two agree to convince Roman that Patton can be in a relationship with the darksides. Roman agrees reluctantly saying that if they mess up one time he won't hesitate to get Patton out of that relationship.

The rest of the story is just fluff about Roman accepting the darksides and maybe some Roman x Logan x Virgil.
