Prompt 4: bad weather + prompt 3: scary movie
Warnings: like none

"Oh, wow look at all that rain! You might be swept away if you step outside." Patton said, leaning against the shelf by the window and staring out at the rain with amazement.
What had started as a mild drizzle while they were out in the park for a coffee date had quickly turned worse, and had made Virgil decide that they might as well get some takeout and go over to his place as he lived closest, watch a movie instead.
And now, a few hours later, it was still raining, much worse than before.
Roman joined Patton by the window, one hand on his lower back and Patton looked up at him to briefly smile before turning back to the rain, which really shouldn't have Virgil feeling so incredibly soft. He wasn't even the one who had been smiled at, this was ridiculous.
How had these three even made him so fond of them so quickly?
"I might have to call a cab." Patton said, wrinkling his nose at the downpour. Virgil felt bad for all of them, he certainly wouldn't want to go outside even for a second in this weather. Even without the rain it was still very windy and some no longer distant thunder creeping closer.
Logan looked up from his phone, pocketing it, frowning at the direction of the window.
"I'm unsure if it's safe to drive in weather like this. According to the news the storm will only get worse and everyone who can should stay inside." He said. Virgil left his place in the doorway to the kitchen where he had gone to put their glasses in the dishwasher, walking up to Logan who was standing a bit behind Patton and Roman.
"Aw man. How many umbrellas do you think Virgil has?" Patton wondered. Virgil made a face to himself, realizing he really didn't want any of them outside in this weather. What if something happened?
"You guys could... you could stay? Like, for the night." Virgil quietly suggested, effectively quieting all three of them and making them turn around to look at him, as if they weren't entirely sure they had heard him right.
"Do not feel obligated to have us over, I'm sure we will all make it home safe." Logan said and Patton's eyes widened.
"Oh, yeah, Vergie, I didn't mean to seem like I was pressuring you-" Patton began and Virgil held his hands up, needing to calm them quickly. And he was supposed to be the anxious mess?
"Guys. It's fine. I want you to stay, I wouldn't ask if I didn't. It would make me feel better to know you're all safe." He said and Roman slowly grinned.
"Aw, do you care about us or something?" He said, walking up to him and putting an arm around Virgil, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. Virgil was sure he flushed bright red and he shoved Roman lightly, not moving him anywhere.
"Shut up." He said, glancing up to see Logan and Patton both watching them fondly.
Virgil looked away quickly, stepping away from Roman's hold and sitting back down on the couch, one of his hands coming to clutch his phone in the pocket of his hoodie.
"Anyway, so, if you wanna stay, stay. It will probably be nicer than getting home through the storm, but I make no promises." He said, shrugging to show that it really was no big deal.
Even if it kind of was, as this would be the first time they stayed over together.
They really hadn't been dating very long, only a few weeks. They had all known each other somewhat from their different college classes but it was Patton that had dragged them all together to go out for coffee and then confessed to them all that he liked them and wanted to date them. All three of them.
Virgil had been incredibly unsure despite knowing he already had a little crush on Patton and that he thought Logan and Roman were attractive. He'd been ignoring all that, because, really, what were the chances of those thoughts leading anywhere?
Surprisingly enough it had been Logan speaking up first, saying that he was willing to go on a date, all four of them, and that had made Roman nod enthusiastically and tell them that he already had crushes on all three of them.
Then they had all been looking at Virgil, obviously trying not to pressure him into anything but they'd looked so hopeful that even if Virgil had been kind of terrified he had still told them that he would agree on a date and then see how he felt afterwards.
That was weeks ago now and since then they had had at least one date a week, and they had been sitting together in the classes they shared, and meeting up after classes to get coffee and study together, which Patton loved to call their 'study dates'.
Despite how nervous and doubtful he had been, and still was sometimes, he had definitely made the right choice when agreeing to go on that first date. They fit together better than he could have ever guessed and going on dates with them just made him happy. Spending any time with them just made him happy.
He had barely hesitated four weeks ago when Logan had sat them down and wondered if the three of them wanted to officially be boyfriends. In barely four months Virgil had gone from being single and not even knowing that he was polyamorous to having three very pretty boyfriends that he already liked much more than he expected himself to when he had been asked on that first date.
"I'll gladly stay!" Patton said, curling up on the couch next to Virgil, resting his head on Virgil's shoulder. "Sounds like a lovely plan for the evening. Especially as it doesn't involve drowning outside and does, hopefully, involve cuddling with you."
"Is there enough space for all of us, when it comes to sleeping arrangements and such, I mean." Logan wondered and if Virgil wasn't mistaking himself the mere suggestion of cuddles had Logan's cheeks going a bit pink.
"Uh, well my bed is pretty big so we could try to all sleep there. Otherwise the couch is a pull out couch, so, should be enough space for us all." Virgil said, stubbornly looking everywhere but at his boyfriends, feeling unreasonably flustered from his suggestion that they could all share a bed.
It wasn't as if he was suggesting anything, there would be no other activities than sleeping, but even just literally sleeping together was ...it was new. And new was scary.
Alright, pull it together Virgil.
"Sounds good to me." Patton said, tilting his head up to brush a little kiss to Virgil's jaw, surely already readying himself to cuddle them all evening.
Virgil found himself wondering how cuddly his boyfriends were. Patton was obviously cuddly, always hugging them and holding their hands and leaning against them and sitting in their laps during their study dates.
Roman was also pretty affectionate, loving to sweep them into his arms and kissing them and carrying them(mostly Patton) around bridal style.
Logan, well, he was more like Virgil. Hesitant to show affection and hesitant to ask for it. But he didn't seem to mind it when someone took his hand or pulled him in for a hug. It wouldn't surprise Virgil if Logan was cuddlier than he let on.
"So, everyone wanna stay?" Virgil asked, trying to remember if he had any extra toothbrushes and wondering if he had something they could all borrow to sleep in. He should be able to think of something to make for dinner too, he hoped.
"Yeah!" Patton said brightly, moving himself around a bit to lie down with his head in Virgil's lap, looking up at Virgil so happily.
"More time with my gorgeous boyfriends? Sounds good to me." Roman said and Logan nodded in agreement.
"I think staying could be very pleasant." Logan said, which made Roman snort slightly on his way to sit on the couch. Once sitting he reached out for Logan to join him, who squeaked as Roman pulled him onto his lap once he went to sit.
"So, what are we gonna do now? Another movie?" Roman asked, ignoring Logan's flustered squirming.
"How about a horror movie?" Virgil suggested, honestly slightly tired of all the Disney that he had to put up with. If they hung out together it wasn't unusual that they gathered around a tv or someone's laptop and watched Disney.
"Oh, um, I guess, but you're gonna have to hold my hand." Patton said, grabbing one of Virgil's hands with both of his. Virgil had no complaints.
"You two fine with a horror movie?" He wondered, looking up at Roman who still had Logan in his lap, who now looked like he had resigned to his fate, sitting tucked in against Roman's chest and with his face pressed into the crook of his neck, Roman's arms still tightly around him.
"Yeah, sure." Roman said with a shrug and Logan grunted quietly.
"Mhm, alright." He said, not moving at all as Virgil went onto his Netflix account and found a horror movie he had wanted to watch for a while, starting it as the others agreed to it.
It took about twenty minutes for Virgil to wonder if his boyfriends had really been sincere when they had agreed to a horror movie, seeing as Logan had looked up once and then pressed his face into Roman's shoulder, flinching at any loud noise. Patton, similarly to Logan, spent a lot of time rolled over and hiding his face in Virgil's shirt, squeezing his hand hard.
Roman was doing somewhat better, but he was tense and wide eyed and Virgil paused the movie, free hand then coming to rest on the back of Patton's head.
"We really don't have to watch this movie if you don't like it. We can watch something else. Or do something else than watch a movie." He said, fingers burying into Patton's soft hair.
He didn't want them to feel forced to watch a movie just because he liked horror. Clearly the three of them didn't like horror all that much and Virgil had no problems with curling up with some snacks and watching the movie when he was alone.
"I know for a fact that you love horror and I feel that, even if I do not enjoy it much, I still want to partake in your interests." Logan said, voice slightly muffled as he still didn't move from how he was sitting in Roman's lap.
"That's actually very sweet, L, but you've barely looked up from Roman's neck so I don't know if there's much point in you, uh, partaking in this interest." Virgil pointed out, words that made Roman smile to himself and momentarily hug Logan tighter.
"I believe the word Patton would use would be 'comfy', and that is going to be my only argument." Logan said, too prideful to admit anything scared him, but since he was instead admitting to liking being affectionate and cuddly with one of them Virgil decided to take it as a win.
Patton bent his head up to look at Logan and Roman, cooing slightly at them before looking up at Virgil with the prettiest of smiles.
"I'm pretty comfy here, too, so I don't mind if we keep the movie on." Patton said, leaning into Virgil's hand with such a content look on his face that Virgil couldn't have argued against anything Patton might have said.
"My brother has shown me way worse movies, so I'll be alright." Roman said, and from the little Roman had told them about Remus it seemed like the truth. "Like, horror might not be my favorite genre of movies but I'll still watch it, being a bit scared won't kill me."
Roman stood up, easily despite holding Logan in his arms (shit, Roman was so strong, oh wow, not now gay thought-) and sat down closer to Virgil, turning his head towards him and making kissy noises to indicate that Virgil should give him a kiss.
He had absolutely no problem with that and leaned the little bit to the side needed to press his lips to Roman's, losing himself just slightly in the softness of Roman's lips.
Then they parted and Virgil turned the movie on again, avoiding looking at Patton that was still smiling up at the both of them, most likely ready to bust out something sappy if he got the chance.
He ran his fingers through Patton's hair, lightly scratching at his scalp as he continued to watch the movie, priding himself at only flinching at one jumpscare, although he missed one of them completely as he was too focused on Patton who had been kissing each of his knuckles and trailing kisses from his palm and down over his wrist.
After the movie ended they didn't move for a while, content just sitting on the couch, at least until Patton's stomach growled, his cheeks and the tips of his ears just going a little bit red.
"Maybe we should make something to eat soon?" Virgil wondered, something none of the others disagreed with. He coaxed Patton to sit up, promising he would soon be back, before he got up from the couch and disappeared into the kitchen, spending a few minutes looking through his fridge and freezer and cabinets to see if there was anything he could make a meal out of.
Then he returned to the living room, watching Logan and Patton stand by a now open window, the pitter patter of the rain and the low rumble of thunder filling the room. Logan was almost leaning slightly out of the window, eyes closed as he breathed in the cool autumn air.
It was so different to be with Logan outside of classes and outside of study dates. Because sometimes he was the way he had been today, relaxed, calm, carefree, as if he really didn't have a single worry on his mind.
"You guys have any allergies I should know about?" Virgil asked, almost sorry to disturb the serene picture of his boyfriends just lazing in his apartment.
"Nope, none." Roman said from where he was now sprawled out on the couch, tapping on his phone.
"Cats." Patton said, standing with one arm reaching out through the open window to let rain drip against the palm of his hand.
"I meant food-wise but good to know." Virgil said with a small smile, making a mental note of what Patton had said, knowing that he had seen Patton run after every cat he stumbled across out in the streets.
"Apples and carrots." Logan said without moving and Roman looked up from his phone.
"You can be allergic to carrots?" He asked.
"Ew, carrots." Patton mumbled, pulling his hand back inside and wiping it on his thigh. Then he left Logan by the window, walking towards Virgil with determination in his eyes.
"What are we cooking?" He asked, grabbing Virgil's arm and pulling him back into the kitchen.
Before long all four of them were in Virgil's kitchen, deciding together what to make and then all of them helping out with the cooking and the preparing.
Virgil had never liked cooking much, especially when other people were going to eat it too, he was anxious to fuck up and make something inedible, or forget the stove on and burn the house down, or microwave something and forgetting a spoon on a plate or in a cup and exploding his microwave. But when it was all three of them?
Maybe he could get used to this.
They made pasta with some kind of creamy bacon and bell pepper sauce, and Virgil credited the fact that it was delicious entirely on Roman who was the one who had actually seemed like he knew what he was doing when he was cooking, surprisingly enough.
They ended up getting a bowl of food each and then sitting down on the couch again, talking and watching One Day At A Time as they ate, and Virgil really didn't know what he was feeling, because this was all new to them and yet this evening just felt so ...normal.
They left the window open, enjoying the sound of the rain and deciding to leave it open as long as the direction of the wind didn't change as that might mean his apartment might get filled with more rain than Virgil thought necessary.
After they had finished eating Virgil stacked their bowls together and brought the dirty dishes to the dishwasher, then escaping into his bedroom to change from his black ripped jeans, hoodie, and purple button up (he'd wanted to look nice for their date, always did) into a pair of sweatpants and some old band t-shirt. And of course he put his hoodie back on.
Then, since he was already in his bedroom, he took the chance to put away some dirty clothes and clean up his nightstand and change all the bedsheets, because it was certainly about time. He already had enough pillows for all of them, seeing as he normally slept with six pillows.
That should be good enough, he thought. It wasn't as if any of his boyfriends would have any complaints.
Virgil took his dirty clothes and bed sheets and threw them in his washing machine, starting a load.
Then he went to rejoin his boyfriends, pausing in the doorway to the living room to take in the scene of them together.
Roman was still watching One Day At A Time, lying on the couch with his feet in Logan's lap. Logan was sitting with a crossword puzzle book that Virgil had deemed too difficult to solve weeks ago, and Patton was curled up against him, chewing on the back of a pencil as they solved it together.
They all just looked so at home, so ...domestic, a thought that Virgil barely knew how to feel about. They really hadn't been dating all that long, it felt almost wrong to already entertain the thought of what their future together might look like.
But as long as they didn't break up their relationship would just be moving forward and they were going to do things like move in together and an evening like this would become their normal. It was almost scary how little that thought scared him.
He left his place in the doorway and swatted at Roman's legs until he got the hint and moved them so Virgil could fit on the couch. Then he stretched himself out across both Virgil and Logan's laps as Virgil got roped into helping Logan and Patton with the crossword they were working on, half paying attention to the show playing in the background.
Virgil could definitely get used to this.
