Logan pulled up the sleeves of Virgil's hoodie, which kept slipping over his hands and getting in the way while he emptied the dishwasher. Now, there was one simple solution that would permanently fix his problem, but Logan had no intentions to take his husband's hoodie off.
It was a rather rare occasion that Virgil wasn't wearing it, the oversized hoodie had been a constant companion for as long as Logan had known Virgil, and they had met in college, thirteen years ago. It wasn't often he got the chance to steal it and he would take any chance he got.
It was comfy, and it smelled like his husband, and Virgil always voiced how cute Logan looked wearing it. What was not to love?
He heard the doorbell ring, a mere second later hearing his husband run down the stairs and open the door to a small chorus of kids' voices yelling trick or treat. He couldn't help smiling as he stacked the glasses onto the right cupboard shelf, hearing his husband compliment the kids on their costumes and giving out candy.
His husband loved halloween. All of October he would put up decorations and plan his halloween costume and they would be watching halloween movies every weekend and bake halloween themed cookies.
It was endearing how much he cared for the holiday, and it had definitely made Logan appreciate October a lot more, always happy to see how happy and excited Virgil was.
He had never cared much for halloween before meeting Virgil, but nowadays he would even go so far as to wear halloween themed socks and ties for all of October, and sometimes he would even dress up with Virgil, do couples costumes for their friends halloween party they threw almost every year.
Not this year though, as Roman and Patton were busy being parents to a newly adopted one year old. Virgil still wanted him to dress up though, but Logan didn't care much to dress up only to sit at home in a possibly uncomfortable costume.
The door closed and Logan heard his husband entering the kitchen, reaching past Logan to take one of the newly washed glasses.
"Thanks for emptying the dishwasher, L." He said, removing his vampire teeth before pressing a kiss to his cheek and filling his glass with water, drinking the entire thing.
He walked past Logan to leave the glass on the kitchen table for later, then returned to Logan's side and helped him empty the last things.
After they were done he grabbed a hold of Logan before he could leave, holding onto the hoodie and looking Logan up and down.
"You know, as absolutely adorable as you look in my hoodie, you should dress up more often. Costumes are fun!" He said, pulling a little at Logan's pumpkin tie that he hadn't bothered to take off after work, pouting for only a second before failing to hide his smile.
Logan looked down at his attire, then up at Virgil again.
"I'm in my Virgil costume." He said, watching his husband blink and then snort, shaking his head.
"Hmh, you wear it well." He said, leaning in to capture Logan's lips in a soft and lingering kiss that Logan melted into, resting his hands on Virgil's waist under his homemade purple cape, kissing Virgil again almost as soon as they parted.
Then the doorbell rang again and Virgil detached himself from Logan, hurrying back out into the hallway to give more kids unnecessary amounts of candy.
"Wow, look at your mummy costume, you look super scary!" He could hear Virgil say, then the sound of candy wrappers crinkling as they were passed to the kid.
Logan poured water into their kettle, finding Virgil's and his favorite tea, making them a cup each as Virgil talked to more kids, quickly coming back into the kitchen to retrieve his vampire teeth before the doorbell rang again.
He poured the boiling water into their cups, then joined his husband in the hallway, watching him hold out their huge bowl of candy to a whole bunch of kids that were gathered on their porch, their parents waiting a few steps behind.
Once the kids thanked Virgil, turned around to leave, and his husband had set the candy bowl down on the chair by the door, Logan handed him his cup of tea. They sipped their drinks carefully as they waited for the next groups of kids to arrive, seeing them walking towards their house already and not bothering to close the door.
Virgil got his attention by cupping his face with one of his hands, thumb brushing to Logan's lower lip.
"Nice lipstick." He said with a grin and it took Logan a moment but then he remembered their kissing and he realized that Virgil's dark red lipstick was slightly smudged.
"Don't even think about trying to wipe it off on my hoodie." Virgil then added with a more serious expression, leaning in and leaving a chaste little kiss against Logan's lips before handing him his cup of tea and grabbing the candy bowl, getting ready to greet the kids while Logan fondly watched.
He was almost sad that October was coming to an end.
