"What do you guys think about the witches that are said to live in Shadow Woods?" Beckett, a friend of Roman's, asked. He was sitting upside down on his chair, looking between his friends curiously to gauge their reactions.

"They're total bullshit," Roman waved him off, looking disinterested. He had heard all about the supposed witches who lived in the woods surrounding the small town when he had moved here. At first the idea had freaked him out some, though he would never admit it, but he had grown to doubt people's claims of the witches in the woods. "All of the supposed sightings of them sound so different. Sometimes people will claim it's two guys living out there, and then the next day someone claims they saw a man and a woman. It's just a silly rumor that no one seems to be able to keep straight."

"I dunno about that, Roman..." Patton butt in, seeming nervous. "I've heard some of the people who say they've witnessed something out there. They really sound serious about it. I think there might be some truth to it."

"Maybe they just saw a person out there." Roman shrugged, though he was a lot less dismissive than he was with Beckett previously.

"It's a small town. We all know each other. No one goes out there and if they did, wouldn't they recognize each other?" Patton countered, and Roman frowned.

"What do you think, Beckett?" Roman questioned, looking back at their friend who was beginning to go red in the face. Beckett flipped himself so he was right side up, going a little too fast and cursing. Patton giggled softly at their friends actions, not noticing the way Roman frowned. He definitely wasn't jealous. That would be silly.

"I think... the two of you should go find out for yourselves what's out there." Beckett suggested, grinning at the two of them. "It's Halloween, you should go explore the woods tonight! Then come back and tell me if you find the witches or not."

"I-I don't know about that," Patton said quickly, eyes wide. "That sounds dangerous."

"I agree with Patton on this one." Roman frowned. Beckett rolled his eyes at that, meeting Roman's eyes with a smirk.

"Yeah right. I bet you're just too much of a wimp." Beckett quipped, sticking his tongue out at Roman who looked offended.

"I am not!"

"Prove it then!"

"Fine! I'll go out there tonight and prove that I'm not a wimp, and that there are no witches living there." Roman crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at Beckett who smiled smugly.

"W-Wait, you can't go out there alone Roman," Patton said, looking between the two of them. "Beckett! Take back what you said. If you say he's not brave enough to go then he'll never listen to me! He can't go out there."

"It's too late, he already said it." Roman directed his gaze towards Patton, glare softening. "I'll be fine, Pat. I'll bring a flashlight and my phone. I'll go looking for twenty minutes and if I don't find anything then I win. Deal?"

"It's a deal," Beckett grinned, shaking on it as Patton watched, eyes wide.

"Beckett! You can at least go with him to make sure he's safe," Patton insisted.

"No way! I'm not dumb enough to go in that forest. I don't mess with that stuff." Beckett crossed his own arms over his chest, shaking his head quickly.

"Come on Roman, surely you can see how silly this is." Patton looked at his best friend, hand clasping around his wrist. Roman glanced down at his hand and then back up at Patton, cheeks warm. "Even Beckett won't go out there. Doesn't that already prove you're brave? So you don't have to go!"

"I'm sorry Patton, but I can't back away from a bet I've made!" Roman insisted. It was very hard to say no to Patton, especially when he was looking at Roman with his lip pouted out and his beautiful brown eyes he had mastered giving a kicked puppy look with, but Roman stood his ground.

Eventually Patton dropped the look, shoulders slouching as he sighed. "Fine. I'm going out there with you then, to make sure you're safe."

Roman would have argued further but he knew just how close he had come to caving in to Patton before, and he knew there was no way for him to say no now. So it was decided that the two of them would make their way to Shadow Woods that night to go exploring, and just maybe, to find themselves some witches.

****

"You're absolutely sure you've got everything?" Patton worried for the tenth time as Roman's car pulled up to the edge of Shadow Woods. The two were joined by Beckett and Steven, one of Beckett's best friends who he had dragged along so he wouldn't be waiting for them all on his own.

"Yes, Patton. I've charged my phone up to 100%, and I've got two flashlights with completely new batteries in them." Roman reassured once more, turning to his best friend after putting the car in park. "You still don't have to come with me, y'know."

"No, you're not going out there alone." Patton said again, taking a moment to steel himself before he removed his seatbelt. He put his hand on the door handle, looking to Roman and nodding. "I'm ready whenever you are."

Roman turned to glance at their friends in the back seat. "Steven, make sure Beckett doesn't break anything in my car. And Beckett, you're not allowed to prank us while we're out here. You'll give Patton a heart attack."

"Aw, c'mon! I'm not that big of an asshole." Beckett pouted, crossing his arms. "No promises about breaking something though. Good luck lasting twenty minutes. Don't let the witches get you!"

"Or more reasonably, watch out for other people or animals." Steven added on, before shooing Roman and Patton out. "I'll make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, go win this stupid bet."

"Hey! You're not supposed to be rooting against me," Roman and Patton heard the beginning of a long bickering between friends as they stepped out of the car, chuckling to themselves as the door shutting cut them off from hearing anymore. Roman stepped around to join Patton on the sidewalk, handing him his extra flashlight and checking the time on his phone.

"Ten twenty-four," Roman read out. "We can come back out after ten forty-four."

"That feels like forever from now." Patton said with a shiver as he stared down the forest trees that loomed over them, casting dark shadows onto them both.

"Not too late for you to turn back." Roman said with a glance to his friend, flicking his flashlight on and taking a step towards the darkness that awaited. He honestly wouldn't have been surprised if Patton had turned back then, getting back into the car and leaving Roman to finish this stupid bet all on his own. Instead, Patton stepped close to Roman and linked their arms together, standing as close as possible.

"We're doing this together," he insisted, and Roman was glad it was far too dark for anyone to see the redness in his cheeks.

"R-right," Roman muttered, clearing his throat as he looked back to the woods. He spoke again, hoping it didn't seem like he was scared of this bet. "Let's do this."

With that the pair of them made their way to the tree line, flashlights illuminating the way ahead of them while also casting dark shadows off of the trees the light hit, making the already eerie forest all the creepier. Still, the two pressed onwards, each step leading them further and further away from the streetlight that lit the road by Roman's car until they could no longer make out any light aside from their flashlights.

"H-how far do we have to go?" Patton asked, still pressed close to Roman's side.

"I'm gonna keep going until half our time is up, and spend the rest getting back to the car." Roman answered, slowly coming to a stop and turning to Patton. "Hey... you can tell me if you want to go back. I don't mind losing this bet if you don't feel safe out here..."

"I'll only turn back if you want to." Patton didn't sound very certain of his own words, but Roman still appreciated him being brave enough to go with him at all. Having Patton with him was nice. "How much time has passed anyways?"

Roman pulled his phone back out from his pocket, the bright screen blinding in the dark of the woods. When his eyes finally adjusted he read out the time now displayed: 10:28. It had only been about four minutes since they had left, but it felt like forever.

"Are you still okay with walking further?" Roman checked, getting a nod from Patton at his side. Roman nodded as well, and took another step forward.

They continued on for a while through the woods, the only sound being the leaves crunching beneath their feet and the sound of their breath. The two were slowly starting to become more and more relaxed-there didn't seem to be anything out here. They had nothing to worry about. Patton was still standing close to Roman's side, but he wasn't pressed quite as close as he had been when they first began their journey into the forest.

Suddenly, after a long time of walking, a startling cracking noise could be heard to the left of the pair. Both of them jumped immediately, and Patton was pressed closely against Roman once again, whisper-shouting. "What was that?"

Roman stood himself in between where the noise had come from and where Patton was protectively, breathing heavier. He didn't say anything for a moment, slowly moving his flashlight from the ground in front of him up to the area they had heard the noise. He shone the light from side to side, jumping again when the light finally hit the culprit of the noise before cursing loudly.

"It's just a stupid squirrel!" Roman hissed, hand going to rest over his racing heart, either sighing in relief or huffing in annoyance; he wasn't sure which one. He turned back to Patton as his heart rate began to settle down again. "Are you alright?"

"That definitely freaked me out, but I'm okay now." Patton said, though his eyes were still wide. "I-I'm definitely sticking close to you for the rest of this trip though."

"You're still okay with going forward?" Roman questioned, surprised. Patton nodded, leaning against Roman as he looked back ahead of them.

"As long as you are." Patton said determinedly, and with that the pair pressed onwards. There were more small noises of branches breaking, or the rustling of leaves, but they weren't nearly as scared as the first time they had heard it. The two of them continued on until Roman's phone read the time as ten thirty-four. Half of their time was already up.

"We should probably start heading back now." Roman muttered, glancing around the two of them. There wasn't much to see-just more trees and leaves, like there had been almost every time he checked.

"Hey, wait... what's that?" Patton asked, pointing his flashlight off to the right of where they had been walking. Roman looked that way, shocked when he saw a faint light in that direction.

"Whoa... there's no way we walked all the way through the woods, this area is huge..." Roman took a step towards the place they saw the light and then paused. "Can we go check it out?"

"I dunno if that's a good idea, Roman..." Patton's voice wobbled nervously, still standing firmly in place, his arm tight around Roman's. "What if... what if it's dangerous?"

"Just a quick peak? We won't get too close, I just wanna know what's out here." Roman looked back at Patton, untangling their arms so that he could take ahold of Patton's hand with both of his own, sending him a pleading look that Patton could just barely make out.

Patton's cheeks flushed as he sighed, looking back towards the light nervously. It looked to be pretty far, and they should really get back on time so they don't worry Beckett and Steven, but Roman looked so cute and excited to find out what it is that Patton just couldn't say no.

"Quickly." Patton answered, pulling his hand away from Roman's grip. Roman missed the hand in his, but he didn't have to worry much. Less than a second later Patton was pressed against his side again, arms tangling once more but this time with their hands gripping each other at the end. Roman squeezed his hand appreciatively, and they started off towards the light.

The closer they got the more lights they saw, and slowly it started to become more clear that they were attached to a building. The light was pouring out of the windows, lighting up a large clearing surrounding the building.

"Is that a house? Who lives out here? There's not even any way to drive back here, it's just woods." Roman muttered as they approached slowly. The house wasn't too big, a simple cabin style house with a large porch on the front that led down into the clearing. Towards the back of the house seemed to be another building, even smaller than the first.

"Roman, I don't think we should get closer," Patton muttered worriedly as Roman kept trying to see more of the property. "Someone clearly lives here, we don't know who they are or if they'd be very happy about us intruding on their property..."

"Do you think..." Roman mumbled, coming to a halt. "The witches that everyone talks about... do you think they-they live here?"

"I thought you didn't believe in them?" Patton asked, sounding just as nervous as his friend. "Surely... this is just some random people's house...! It's not-it's probably nothing."

Roman didn't say anything for a moment, slowly stepping closer towards the house.

"Roman, are you sure we should-"

Roman shushed Patton quickly, leaning forwards and turning his head like he was listening for something. Patton listened in too, and almost immediately felt his heart drop into his stomach.

Not too far from the pair they could hear other people speaking softly to each other. They couldn't quite make out what was being said but they were sure that there were people out there other than them.

Roman, despite Patton's whispered warnings, leaned his head around a tree that they were near, catching sight of two shadowy figures surrounded by lit candles. A moment later Roman quickly pulled himself back behind the tree, muttering a loud. "Shit."

"Is someone there?" The two heard a monotonous, eerily calm voice call out to them. They stayed there for a moment, not knowing what exactly to do, frozen in place behind the tree. Both of them desperately hoped that this was a nightmare, that they didn't actually just find the Witches of Shadow Woods. However, moments later they heard the sound of rustling leaves as someone seemed to approach them, and they knew that this was all too real.

"Run," Roman croaked out, hand tightening around Patton's and tugging as he began to head back the way they had came, desperate to get out of there before something terrible happened. Patton followed just as quickly, hearts pounding in both of their ears as their feet hit the ground quickly.

They were only a few yards away when Patton heard Roman yelping and a faint snapping sound, and suddenly he was being pulled to the ground on top of Roman. Roman cursed again, untangling his arms from Patton and pushing him up so he was standing above him. "Go, go!"

"Wait! What happened?" Patton questioned, glancing back behind them to see the shadowy figure was very slowly approaching them. "Are you okay?"

"Just go, Pat!" Roman insisted, very slowly pushing himself up off of the ground. Patton could tell he was avoiding leaning on one of his legs. "I'll be right behind you."

"No, you hurt your leg!" Patton said, eyes wide. He quickly pulled Roman's arm around his shoulders, pulling Roman to lean against him. "I'm not leaving you."

Roman didn't have any time to argue before Patton was pulling him away, limping along as quickly as he could. He knew they weren't going nearly fast enough, and whoever-or whatever-was behind them was sure to gain on them quickly. He also knew that Patton would never leave him behind, so he was conflicted. They didn't have very many options.

"You two, wait up!" The same voice called out from behind them, much closer than before and Roman was sure he felt his heart stop beating momentarily. "You are hurt, you won't make it very far out here."

"Leave us alone!" Patton called back, panting as he tried to pull Roman faster.

"I am only trying to help," the voice tried once more, Roman and Patton sharing a skeptical glance at each other.

"We don't accept help from witches!"

The crunching of leaves behind them stopped in their tracks suddenly, causing both of them to glance back to find the figure standing still now, close enough for them to finally see their face. It was a man around their age, fairly tall with brown hair that was neatly pushed back. They couldn't quite make out his eyes from behind his thick glasses. He appeared very confused at Patton's statement, brows furrowed and lips tugged downwards into a frown.

"I'm... sorry? Did you just say witches?" The man asked looking between the two of them who had also come to a stop once he had. The three of them stared at each other in confusion for a few more moments before the man just shook his head, ignoring that for the moment. "Listen, me and Virgil mean absolutely no harm, and I wouldn't have continued to follow you if I hadn't seen you injure yourself. You're going to have a hard time finding your way out in the dark and especially with your leg like that. Would you please come back with me so that I may examine your leg, before you go running around and further injure yourself?"

Patton and Roman looked at each other, both seeming to think it over. Patton glanced down at Roman's ankle, which seemed to have swelled up a lot since his initial fall, and finally looked over at the man to nod. "Okay. We'll come."

"Wait, Patton, are you sure that-"

"We really don't have any other good options, Roman. We have to trust him for now." Patton cut him off, letting out a shaky breath as he slowly turned the both of them to face the stranger. "Lead the way."

"Do you need help with your friend?" He looked towards Patton, who pulled Roman even closer to himself and shook his head quickly. Roman was thankful for that, not quite trusting of this man yet. He just nodded, backing off and beginning to lead the way through the woods back to where they had seen the cabin and the other stranger, who the man had called Virgil.

"I am Logan, by the way." The man said, glancing back at the pair.

"I'm... I'm Patton, and this is Roman." Patton introduced himself, feeling it would be too rude not to. This man, Logan, was offering to help them after all.

"So Patton, Roman... mind explaining why you're out here in the middle of the night?"

"It was just... a stupid bet. Our friend dared us to try and find the-" Patton cut himself off, face flushing. Logan paused to look at him, waiting for him to answer. Patton sighed, not meeting his eyes. "The... Witches of Shadow Woods."

"And... you believed you would find actual witches out here?" Logan questioned, both Roman and Patton not wanting to look his way.

"N-no! We came here to prove him wrong, actually." Roman insisted, still feeling awkward having to explain himself.

"And yet, the two of you thought that we were witches?" Logan pressed further. He didn't get an answer from either of them this time, and decided to stop pushing for information. He led them all the way back to where the building they had seen was, and soon they could see another person standing and waiting by the porch of the house.

"Logan!" The other man, Virgil as Logan had called him, shouted. "What the hell happened?"

"These two were out here because of a dare. They got scared because they thought..." Logan smiled at Virgil, making Roman and Patton even more embarrassed. "They thought that we were witches. One of them, Roman, hurt himself so I brought him here to check his leg."

"Witches?" Virgil repeated, eyes wide and lips barely quirking upwards into a grin. "That's-Okay, ignoring that, how do you know we can trust them to let them in our house? What if they're lying? What if they came here to-"

Logan took ahold of Virgil's hand before he could spiral anymore, squeezing it gently. "Don't worry too much. They were trying to run, I don't think they intended to end up inside of our home. I'll take care of them, and then send them home. Trust me, Virgil."

Virgil leaned in a bit closer to Logan, examining the two newcomers warily. Still, he allowed Logan to lead them inside, following after them into their living room. Logan instructed Patton and Roman to rest on their couch, leaving Virgil to stand in the room with them while he looked for their first aid. Virgil loomed nervously around them, eyeing them carefully.

Roman and Patton were also watching Virgil. The man had long, dark hair that fell in front of his eyes, causing him to push it back every few moments. His eyes were just as dark as his hair, and the makeup he wore under his eyes only made him appear more dark and menacing. He definitely had a very odd style, but it seemed to suit him. He was very attractive.

The more they thought about the two of them being out here, the more those witch rumors seemed to make sense. Virgil definitely seemed to be more feminine than the other, so it made sense for some of the witnesses of the witches to mistake him as a woman sometimes. Were they really the ones people kept seeing? And if they were... did that mean they really are witches?

"So... witches?" Virgil questioned after some time of silence, watching as both of their cheeks flushed a dark red.

"L-listen, we came here to prove to our friend that there weren't any witches, like the rumors say!" Roman insisted, frowning and shooting a glare Virgil's way. His glare faded quickly, looking ashamed again. "Then we saw you two, and... well, it's hard not to imagine something scary when you're out in the woods and come across two random people living in the middle of nowhere! Why do you even live out here anyways? There's no way to get a car back here through the trees, so how do you get anywhere?"

"We don't." Logan spoke for Virgil, entering the room again with the first aid kit. He waved a hand at the seat beside of Roman, asking permission to sit next to him and examine his leg. Roman slowly nodded, letting Logan sit. "We have a greenhouse where we grow our own food, we keep animals, and we have running water and electricity. What do we need to leave the woods for?"

"Uh... to see," Roman cut off with a yelp as Logan moved his leg, Logan apologizing quickly and stopping. "To see other people, maybe?"

"People suck." Virgil commented, crossing his arms over his chest as he watching Logan. "It's nice to be out here away from everyone else. We have each other and everything else we could ever need."

"That sounds... lonely." Patton butted inc frowning. "Don't you guys want more friends to visit you out here? Surely some days you'd like to see other people..."

Virgil just shrugged at that, looking away from all of them. "It's... mostly nice. We do see people sometimes, too. They just don't ever say anything to us, and leave pretty quickly."

"Which, apparently, is because they believe we're witches." Logan said with a small grin, glancing at Virgil who grinned right back. Both Patton and Roman were a little entranced by their smiles. "Which we are not, in case you were still wondering."

"Sorry to disappoint." Virgil shrugged. "That is an awesome rumor though. I wish I were a witch!"

"We're uh, kinda glad you're not..." Roman laughed awkwardly, sharing a look with Patton. "Don't really want to get cursed tonight. Or even worse... lose this bet."

"That's your main concern here, dude?" Virgil raises an eyebrow. "I feel like you should have better priorities."

"I agree," Patton chuckled, hearing a gasp from Roman at his side.

"How dare you side with the witches?"

"Not witches," Logan said, rolling his eyes with a smile still on his lips.

"Oh yeah? If you aren't witches, then how come people say you have a bunch of ravens that follow you around? Sounds like something that would happen to a witch." Roman argued.

"Roman! We don't know if that's true, people could be making things up." Patton said.

"No, no, that ones actually true." Virgil said, nodding.

"Not because we are witches, though. We simply feed the birds in our area, and because the ravens know that they like to stick around us. We try not to do it often though, we would not want them to become too attached to humans." Logan explained. He had began to wrap Roman's leg in a bandage, being slow and careful as to not hurt him further. "Your ankle was badly sprained. Once you are able to get home you should avoid walking on it as much as possible, keep it elevated and use ice to keep swelling down. It is very bruised which is part of why it hurts to touch. Definitely see a doctor if you get the chance, to double check that it is not broken."

"Right... thanks for helping." Roman muttered, resting his leg back onto the ground once Logan was finished.

"Yeah, thanks for not cursing us for intruding on your property!" Patton added on, making Virgil snort.

"It is not a problem. I'm glad you agreed to let me help, rather than continue running through the woods and potentially causing more harm." Logan said with a small smile. "Do you have a way to get home other than walking?"

"Yeah, my car is by the road where Beckett... and Steven are waiting... shit." Roman mumbled, eyes going wide. He scrambled to check his phone, finding that the time now read eleven fifteen. "We're so late in getting back! They've gotta be wondering where we are... we have to go!"

"Oh," Virgil mumbled, looking a bit disappointed. "Well... can we help? Do you need someone to lead you back to your car, or help you carry Roman?"

"No, no, Beckett can't see you two!" Roman said quickly, making Logan and Virgil frown. "I mean-not-not because-I mean if he sees you then he'll think he won the bet! And clearly he hasn't, because you two aren't witches."

"Right," Virgil said slowly. "Well... I guess we should say goodbye then."

"It was nice to meet you." Logan said, smiling softly at them.

"It was nice to meet you too!" Patton grinned half heartedly, looking between the both of them. Both Roman and him were a bit disappointed to be leaving. Virgil and Logan seemed like nice and very interesting people-not to mention they were both very attractive.

"I guess, uh... we'll just, get going then." Roman slowly pushed himself up from the couch, going back to leaning heavily against Patton as he stood too. They both made their way to the door, which was held open by Logan. They were about to step out passed the two of them when Patton stopped.

"I-I know you guys said that you... aren't a fan of other people, but uh... would you be opposed to maybe making two more friends?" Patton asked slowly, looking nervously between the two of them. Logan and Virgil shared a glance, both of them seeking a little relieved.

"We would love to make a few more friends. You are welcome back at any time." Logan told them, smiling along with Virgil. Patton and Roman grinned brightly, also sharing an excited look.

"Awesome! We'll be happy to visit again soon." Roman said, and after agreeing to see each other again the two of them were off into the woods again to find their way back to Roman's car.

"That was... a fun adventure." Roman mentioned once they were halfway back through the woods, looking over at Patton.

"A little less fun for you I bet, but I'm glad we met them! We definitely got our answer about whether or not there's witches out here." Patton agreed, smiling as he thought back to the two they had just met. "One question, though..."

"What is it?"

"Did you also think that those two were like, super attractive?" Patton questioned, gaining a snort from Roman that got him laughing too.

"That is not at all what I thought you'd ask me." Roman managed out between his laughter, grinning widely. He wasn't sure why he didn't feel jealous over Patton asking this, despite his very obvious feelings for him, but he assumed it might have something to do with the fact that he absolutely agree with him. They were both just as attractive as Roman found Patton to be, and that was certainly saying something. "Yeah, yeah they definitely were. I can't wait to meet them again."

"I'm glad I'm not the only one." Patton said. "They were such nice people."

A few moments of silence passed by, Roman checking his phone again. It was way later than they were supposed to be out.

"Do you think Beckett and Steven are looking for us?" He asked, looking around the woods. "It's been a long time."

"I haven't heard them at all, but surely they've noticed we've been gone... I just hope they didn't go and get themselves lost! That's definitely something Beckett would do."

"I don't think Steven would let them get lost." Roman pointed out.

"True, but Beckett has a way of making Steven so mad that he blocks out the rest of the world to argue with him. I'm... really surprised they're such good friends." Patton said. Roman was going to respond when Patton pointed ahead suddenly. "Look, there's the streetlight! We're so close!"

The pair sped up as fast as they could while walking together, soon enough finding themselves back out of the trees and onto the concrete sidewalk. Surprisingly, it seemed that Beckett and Steven were still sitting in the backseat of the car, and they still looked to be arguing.

Roman and Patton shared an amused glance before Patton was pulling open the passenger door, helping Roman to settle into the seat. He insisted on helping him pull his seatbelt on despite Roman's protests that his arms were just fine, and soon enough was climbing into the drivers seat.

"Wow, you guys chickened out fast!" Beckett said once the two of them were in the car, finally breaking his fight with Steven.

"What are you talking about? We've been in there longer than the agreed on time! We thought you'd be worried!" Roman turned in his seat to face the two of them, frowning.

"What? It's only been a few-" Beckett cut himself off with a glance at the clock in Roman's car, eyes wide. "Wh-How? I swear it's only been a few minutes!"

"Maybe if you two weren't bickering so much..." Patton started, glancing back at them as they both rushed to defend themselves.

"Hey, wait a minute. Why were you out there for longer than you said anyways?" Steven finally asked, looking between the two.

"Did you find some witches? You better pay up!" Beckett grinned, holding his hand out.

"No, we did not find any witches!" Roman huffed, crossing his arms. "We just found a hole. One that twisted my ankle and sprained it."

"Are you okay?" Steven asked quickly, Beckett finally shutting up as he waited to Roman to answer. He may be a jokester but he knew to stop when it came to someone being injured.

"Dude, I'm so sorry," Beckett rushed out. "Do we need to get you to a doctor? We need to go to the emergency room. Oh my god, I broke your leg!"

"Beckett, you need to chill." Roman shook his head at his friend, smiling. "It's fine, dumbass. It's already been wrapped up, I'll just go to a doctor in the morning to check on it."

"How did you wrap it?" Steven asked, leaning forward in his seat to see Roman's leg that did indeed have a bandage. The two in the front seat shared a panicked look, turning back to Steven.

"U-Uh, I always carry around some basic first aid things!" Patton said suddenly, patting his jean pocket. "Y-Yeah, always have to be sure my friends stay safe."

Steven stared at him blankly for a long, terrifying moment, before he nodded slowly. "That is a good idea. I should do that myself, for Beckett's sake. He is always getting himself into stupid situations."

"Am not!" Beckett responded, starting up yet another silly argument between the two of them that caused Roman and Patton to laugh. They shared one more glance as Patton started the car to take them all back home, smiling softly at each other. Beckett and Steven didn't need to know that they met anyone out in the woods today, and neither did anyone else. Roman and Patton knew that they were out there, and they knew that they would definitely be seeing them again soon.

This took me way too long to finish, I literally started it on Halloween, but hey it's almost 5800 words!!! That's really cool!!! I really love this trope and thought it'd be cool to write something for it. Hope you guys enjoyed it!!!!

Also I know I haven't been active on Wattpad lately but I swear that isn't because I'm not working on things. Like I said I've been working on this since Halloween, and I have other things I've been working really hard on finishing writing, so I have been writing a ton it's just I don't have anything that I was able to post yet.

By the way, be ready in 12 days(now that it's midnight) for something exciting to be published on my account ;););) I'm gonna be working super hard these next twelve days, so honestly don't expect too much activity other than my countdown posts on my message board and occasionally responses to comments.

Anyways, thanks so much for reading this!! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this chapter, I spent a long time on it and I'm very proud of it. *a witch appears on a broom to hand you a ring pop through your window before flying off into the night where you can vaguely see her silhouette against the full moon* Take care of yourselves!!! Bye!-Bob
