Requested. Sorry for the huge amount of coffee shop AUs, but also not bc I love them okay shh
Logan's coffee shop was almost always a welcoming, calm, and quiet environment. Logan quite enjoyed working in the peaceful shop, mostly getting in customers who came to study and didn't make much noise. Usually the loudest thing in the shop was the clicking of keyboard keys and occasionally friends speaking quietly amongst each other.
Today, however, the coffee shop was anything but quiet.
It had all begun with one of his regulars coming in for a drink. He had remembered the name of the customer, Virgil, as he came in almost every day that the shop was open. He was also very quiet usually, getting his coffee and sitting down by the window to watch passers by. As per usual he had entered and ordered his coffee, Logan already knowing his order and passing it on to his coworker. Virgil stood by to wait on his drink as the bell above the doorway rang, signaling another customer entering.
Another person that he recognized entered the shop. Although he didn't come as often as Virgil, Logan had still remembered the man's name to be Patton. He took his order as well, Patton standing beside of Virgil to wait as well and shooting Virgil a friendly smile.
The bell rang a third time, and Logan couldn't help but wonder how it was possible that he had his two regular handsome customers here as well as a third new and attractive customer. He wasn't sure if he was lucky or not to get to look at the three of them while they got their coffee, as now his cheeks were burning and he barely kept from stumbling through his regular greeting with the customer. He had done the same when Virgil and Patton had started coming in, but it never got any less embarrassing. He hoped he wasn't too obvious.
"So, Logan huh?" The man, Roman as he had told Logan while ordering his drink, leaned against the counter top instead of moving out of the way as Patton and Virgil had. "That's a cute name."
"O-Oh, well..." Logan definitely couldn't stop the stuttering now, eyes wide behind his glasses and mouth hanging open in surprise. "Thank-Thank you."
"You have a cute face too." Virgil couldn't help but blurt out loud, looking surprised with himself as he said it. "I-I didn't mean to say that out loud!"
"Well, thank you anyways," Logan muttered, growing more and more flustered by the minute. He had never really been flirted with before by anyone, and now he had two attractive guys hitting on him at the same time. He didn't really know what to do with himself.
"I think you're cute too!" Patton interjected, not knowing what else to say but wanting to flirt with Logan as well. He smiled brightly at the other, and Logan had to avert his eyes as he stuttered out another thanks.
"I, um, forgive me I... don't really get this very often," Logan spoke softly, drawing in a breath to calm himself, heart feeling ready to burst from his chest at any moment.
"That's surprising," the newcomer said, smiling at him as well. How could all of their smiles be so blindingly bright? "I figured you'd have thousands of people leaving their numbers for you."
"N-No, I... that has never happened before. I'm... sure that you three get this often, but you are very attractive yourselves." Logan managed out, voice higher than normal. He caught the three of them flushing slightly, and felt proud that he was able to fluster them even the slightest bit. They had certainly managed to fluster him.
"You... you really think so?" Virgil asked, his cheeks the reddest of the three of them, a hopeful look on his face. As Logan looked he saw the same hopeful expression on all of their faces.
"I... well, of course! I don't really remember most of my customers names but well, it was kind of impossible to not remember yours and Patton's. And well, that was... sort of my first thought when you showed up as well." He glanced to Roman, finding a much softer smile replacing the grin from before. Logan found that he much preferred this soft, genuine reaction.
"I-I'm really glad to hear that," Virgil admitted, also smiling at Logan. Logan had never seen him smile before, and found that he couldn't actually look away, eyes still wide as he looked at him.
"Um, earth to Logan?" Roman said, snapping his fingers in front of Logan's eyes. Logan finally snapped out of it and looked back at him, swallowing thickly as he wondered what might happen if one of these men asked him out. Or all of them. He knew he couldn't possibly choose, but right now it seemed like something that could actually happen.
"We wanted to admit something to you," Roman said, glancing over at the other two. Logan frowned in confusion, wondering if he had really been staring at Virgil's smile for so long that he had completely missed them having a conversation right in front of him.
"Wh-What?" Logan questioned, looking at their somewhat guilty seeming expressions.
"Well... it's possible that the three of us... kind of already know each other?" Patton admitted, meeting Logan's eyes. Logan felt his stomach drop.
Oh, he thought to himself, embarrassed tears welling up in his eyes. This was probably just a joke between the three of them. They were just messing with him.
"I-oh. I see." Logan muttered, looking at the ground to hide tears that threatened to fall. "So, you guys are friends then."
"Well, not quite just friends." Roman said, which only made Logan feel worse. So a couple of strangers had caught onto the fact that he found them attractive and deciding to join together and tease him.
"We're actually-well, we're kind of... together." Virgil spoke up this time, voice shaking slightly. "Y'know. Romantically."
Wait... what? Logan finally looked up, squinting at them confusedly. The three of them were standing a little closer together now, Patton and Roman taking hold of Virgil's hands. They seemed very nervous.
"Wait... you're being serious?" Logan interrogated. He was beginning to feel a little frustrated-his emotions had been up and down so quickly just now, and he still wasn't sure if they should be good or bad. "You guys are dating?"
"Please don't think we're weird!" Patton exclaimed, eyebrows furrowed and frown pulling at his lips. He had never actually seen Patton without a smile. He didn't like it.
"Wait, I just want to get one thing clear here," Logan said, shaking his head and sighing. He pushed his glasses up his face. "Did you... you guys were being serious about everything you said, right? This isn't some-some screwed up joke or something? You aren't a bunch of homophobes just trying to embarrass me right?"
"Of course we're not!" Patton assured him. "We would never do that. We just, well... let us explain, okay?"
Their drinks had long been made and set on the counter, and Logan was thankful the coffee shop was empty for this so far and his coworker had disappeared back into the shop. To be sure that no one else interrupted this Logan told the three of them to wait for a moment, going to the door and turning around the sign in the window to let people know that they were closed. Once he had done that he gestured to the booth that Virgil had often sat at, sliding into the seat and sitting by the window as he waited for them to join him. Virgil and Patton slid in across from him, Roman taking a seat hesitantly beside of him.
"Alright," Logan said after a while of silence, looking around at them all. "Please tell me exactly what's happening."
"Well, the story starts out with Virgil." Roman started, pointing at his boyfriend. "He started coming here first, and the first time he did he wouldn't shut up about the attractive guy who worked the counter."
Virgil flushed when Logan glanced at him after hearing that, but nodded his head slowly. "Y-yeah, I... I was kind of annoying about it for a while." He laughed softly, Logan's heart warming at the sound. "Eventually Patton decided he wanted to go too and see you for himself."
"I don't even like coffee!" Patton admitted, laughing at himself. "But once I saw you and I knew Virgil was right I couldn't help but keep coming back."
"So of course, now I had both of my boyfriends rambling about this cute coffee shop guy. They've both been obsessed with you for a while now, but neither of them wanted to make the first move to ask you out so of course I had to come down here myself. And well... they were certainly right about you." Roman sent Logan a wink, Logan drawing in a sharp breath and covering his face with his hands. He sat that way for a while, quiet as he thought over all of this.
"I think you might've broken him, Roman." Patton laughed softly, gaining smiles from his other two boyfriends. Eventually Logan snapped out of his thoughts and looked back up at them.
"So, let me get this straight-"
"Good luck with that," Roman snorted, gaining a laugh from Patton and an eye roll from Virgil and Logan. "Oh, look at that Patton! He's just as grumpy at our great jokes as Virgil. How cute."
"Please stop calling me cute before my brain actually overloads." Logan stuttered out, Roman apologizing with soft laughter and promising to stop. "Anyways, as I was saying... basically, what you guys are telling me is that you three are boyfriends. And you're trying to ask me out? You really want me to date the three of you?"
"Only if you want to," Virgil said quickly, not wanting Logan to feel pressured. "If you're uncomfortable with any of this we'll go home and let you be. We won't even come back to the coffee shop if you don't want us too..."
"That-that's not necessary." Logan said quickly, looking disappointed at the idea of them not returning. "I... well. I've never been asked out on a date by one man before, much less three. But... I suppose, I am willing to give it a shot."
"Really?" Patton asked incredulously, grinning widely as Logan nodded nervously. He squealed out happily, bouncing in his seat. Roman had a similar reaction, while Virgil simply hid a smile behind his hand.
With that the three of them excitedly exchanged numbers, talking in the coffee shop for a while longer to make plans for their first date together. They each left feeling equally nervous and excited, and couldn't wait to see each other again.
I did change it up a bit so that it'd make more sense for all four of them to end up together, also thought it'd be a neat twist at the end there. Hope that was alright, and you still like it! Sorry for taking a while to get around to this and my other requests.
