Together Forever
WARNING: THIS STORY HAS TOUCHY SUBJECTS. THIS INCLUDES DEATH, SUICIDE, AND UPSETTING THOUGHTS. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. (Yes, it has a happy ending, but the beginning it very touchy and sad)
Virgil lay on the floor with his arms and legs sprawled out, his dull purple and green eyes staring up at the ceiling. His red and puffy cheeks were stained with dried tears. He didn't have enough energy to keep on crying. It didn't matter to him anymore, he already downed the pill bottle. He wouldn't be alive in a few minutes.
Virgil closed his eyes as he remembered the fun times he had with his friends. When they were alive. He remembered how Patton always made sweet treats to keep smiles on everyone's faces. How Logan would always make Virgil laugh with his snarky remarks towards Deceit. All of the fun him and the other Dark Sides would have. Finally, how Roman always knew how to put a smile on Virgil's face. His heart ached at the realization that he would never have the happy times ever again. Virgil gripped the empty prescription bottle that lay in his hand. He began to recall how they all died.
Logan. Experiment gone wrong.
Patton. Stuck in house fire.
Roman and Remus. Car crash.
Deceit. Hung himself.
Now Virgil. Drug overdose. He felt like the world was spinning, and he began to grow weak. A single tear managed to escape his closed eye as he knew that this was the end. There would be no more tomorrows. No more laughter. No more fun. Nothing. A shaky sigh left the fragile male's lips.
"Hey ViVi!! Wake up, sleepyhead!!" Remus' voice spoke, causing Virgil to jump at his eyes shot open. Above him stood Remus and Deceit, whom were accompanied by wings on their backs. Remus smiled brightly as he giggled happily, Deceit having a sweet and warm smile on his face. Tears swam in Virgil's different colored eyes as he sat up, looking up at his friends. He opened his mouth to speak, but all that left was a choked sob. He cupped his mouth as tears began pouring out of his eyes, wing slowly forming on his back. Remus gasped slightly, Deceit frowning as he got on his knees and hugged the smaller male. Remus quickly did the same in attempts to help calm their friend. Virgil clung onto them as he wailed loudly, burying his face in Deceit's chest. Remus rubbed Virgil's back as Deceit stroked his purple locks.
"Hey, it's okay," Deceit spoke as he cupped Virgil's cheek. "Yea, we're here now," Remus added as he pushed a strand of hair out of Virgil's face. Virgil hiccuped as he nodded, using his sleeves to wipe his eyes. He held his hands over his eyes and he panted slightly, being out of breath from crying so hard. Virgil sniffled as he pulled his hands away, his eyes now being less dull than before. Remus and Deceit smiled softly at their smaller friend, Virgil slightly returning the smile. It felt odd, he hadn't smiled in so long. Remus took Virgil's hands, standing.
"C'mon! Patton's waiting for us. He wants us back in time for cookies," he spoke, Deceit nodding as he also stood. Virgil looked shocked at the mention of Patton, hesitantly nodding. Almost as if on cue, a door shaped white light appeared. Virgil jumped slightly at this, causing the two other males to giggle. Remus dragged Virgil into the light, Virgil squinting his eyes as he held his arm up.
Virgil opened his eyes, looking around at his surroundings. The sky was a pretty baby blue, white and big fluffy clouds accompanying it. The ground was vibrant green grass that had a few flowers here and there. A few trees were around, and in front of the three males was a two storied house. A two storied house that looked just like their home. On the porch sat a figure with white wings. The figure had black framed glasses, brown hair, a dark blue t-shirt, and black jeans. A book was grasped in his hands. He looked up at the three males at the end of the porch, a bright smile forming on his lips.
"Virgil!" Logan exclaimed happily as he shut his book, standing. "You're here!" A smile formed on Virgil's lips as the two approached each other, hugging the other tightly. Virgil hadn't felt so happy in so long. He had missed being around the taller nerd and how he always smelled like jam. Logan placed a hand on Virgil's shoulder, his smile never leaving.
"C'mon in, Patton and Roman have been dying to see you," Logan said, Virgil's heart jumping at Roman's name. He hadn't seen the prince for nearly a year. Virgil nodded quickly, Logan chuckling slightly as he opened the door and entered the house. Virgil, Deceit, and Remus followed closely, the smell of cookies filling their noses. Virgil looked around the house, seeing that it was exactly the same as their home. The same furniture, the same pictures, everything was the same. Just how Virgil liked it.
"Patton, Virgil is home!" Logan's voice rang happily, bringing another small smile to Virgil's face. He hadn't seen Logan smile for almost two years. Hell, he hadn't seen Logan at all for nearly two years. To Virgil, he seemed more happier than ever.
A happy gasp filled Virgil's ears along with the sound of quick footsteps growing near. Patton appeared at the kitchen entrance, his warm and comforting smile being plastered on his face. "ViVi!!" He exclaimed as he rushed over to his short, emo friend and wrapping his arms around him tightly. Virgil giggled as he hugged Patton back just as tight, burying his face in Patton's shoulder as his eyes grew slightly teary. He was so overcome with happiness and emotion that it was getting hard to hold it in any longer. Patton cupped his face, his smile never leaving his face.
"I'm so glad you're home! I missed you so much!" He exclaimed, Virgil's smile growing wider. He loved it when his friends, especially Patton, told him that they were glad to see him. It made him feel more wanted than usual.
"I missed you, too. I missed all of you so fucking much," Virgil said as his eyes began to fill with more tears. Patton's smile slowly turned into a frown as Virgil looked down slightly. He shook his head slightly as he made his smile come back, cupping Virgil's face again.
"Hey, it's okay," he spoke as his brown eyes locked with Virgil's different colored ones. "We've always been with you. We'll always be with you, no matter what!" Virgil softly smiled as he nodded at the father-figure-friend. Patton ruffled Virgil's purple locks, leaning in and whispering to his smaller friend.
"Roman is up in his room, go see him. He'll be so happy to see you." Virgil tensed slightly as he began to be emotional again. He quickly nodded, turning on his heel and rushing up the stairs without another word. Considering the house was just the same as the old one, Virgil assumed Roman's room was the same one. He bit his lip as his eyes stung again with tears, approaching the door. Virgil shakily rose his fist, rapping it on the door a few times quietly.
"Come in," Roman's voice spoke quietly, bringing more tears to Virgil's eyes. He was screaming in his mind, begging for this to not be a dream. Begging for him to actually be home with the people he loved. He slowly lowered his hand, grabbing the door knob and slowly turning it. Virgil gently pushed the door open, his eyes landing on the male on the other side of the door. Roman sat on the edge of his bed, which wore a red bed sheet, examining himself in a pink hand mirror. Virgil felt his knees buckle as he let out a choked, catching Roman's attention and causing him to look over. His bright, ruby red eyes widened in shock as tears filled his eyes. Was this real? Was he just seeing things?
Virgil darted across the room, throwing his arms tightly around the prince as he began to sob into his chest. Roman hugged the smaller male just as tight, gripping his shirt tightly. He didn't want to let go. After a minute or two of crying, Virgil cupped Roman's face. A bright smile formed on their faces as Virgil let out a small giggle. Without hesitation, he pressed his lips against Roman's. Roman's eyes widened slightly, not expecting to be kissed by the small male. He slowly closed his eyes as he returned the kiss, hugging Virgil's waist gently. Virgil smiled into the kiss, hesitantly pulling away and pressing his forehead against Roman's. The two locked eyes, their smiles never leaving their faces.
"I love you," Roman breathed out. "So much." Virgil's smile only widened at these words. "I love you just as much."
