First and Last Kiss (Prince x Anxiety)
Did you prepare?
Virgil had gone to find Roman when it had happened.
Patton had told him to find Roman, they were all supposed to meet up and he was the only one missing. He hadn't been in his room, so Virgil checked the next place he knew he would be. Daydream mode.
He had appeared in the middle of a fight between the prince and his enemies, expecting Roman to have already taken care of most of them. "Roman, Patton wa-"
His sentence was cut short by a horrible pain in his stomach. Looking down he felt as though he would be sick, finding a sword going through him, and then being pulled back out. The enemies Roman was facing had frozen, just as surprised and confused as Roman was to see him appear out of nowhere.
Roman was the first to react, his shocked face turning into a furious glare directed at the man who had stabbed him. He cried out in his anger, lunging forward with his sword and killing him. Then, he turned to the rest of them, one by one taking them out. It wasn't a challenge for him, even with his mind only on Virgil who had fallen to the ground behind him.
Only when the last man had fallen did Roman look at Virgil, anger dissipating. The feeling was replaced with concern for his fellow side, and he rushed over to him quickly, frowning more at hearing his pained whimpers.
"Virgil, Virgil hey, you're going to be alright." Roman spoke softly, trying to calm him down. He wouldn't admit that he was also trying to reassure himself. "Listen, it'll be okay, I'll help you, I-I... I'll think of something.. I have to think of something..."
"Stop," Virgil choked out, pouring tears from his eyes and blood from his wound. "Stop lying. Just don't."
Roman didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say; there really wasn't anything he could do. Virgil wasn't going to make it. Roman felt something drip down his face and off his nose, and realized he was crying too. He wiped at his eyes furiously-he had to be strong. He was the brave one. The least he could do for Virgil now was comfort him.
Shaking, Roman reached out to hold Virgil's hand in both of his own. He brought it up to his lips, kissing his hand before holding it to his heart. "I'm sorry," he whispered, biting back more tears. "I shouldn't have let this happen. I should have been more aware, should've noticed you appear before any harm could come to you."
Virgil shrugged weakly. "Wasn't your fault." He muttered, looking up at Roman. He wasn't panicking as much as before-he had already accepted his fate. His eyes were still filled with tears, however, because damn, being stabbed is painful. "You didn't know I was coming. Don't beat yourself up, Princey."
"Still, I-" he was cut off as Virgil shook his head.
"Stop it. Don't. What good is it to blame yourself? Not gonna fix anything." He pointed out, and Roman slowly nodded. He was right. Virgil took his a shaking breath, looking back down at his injury that had bled a lot. He looked back up at Roman, more tears in his eyes. He shouldn't have looked at it.
"Roman, I-I don't want to die yet." He cried, and the sound of his voice broke Roman's heart. He sounded so sad, and so scared, and Roman couldn't do anything. "There's a lot I haven't done. I should've told you guys more often that I care about you. I'll never know what it's like to fall in love with someone who loves me back, I'll never be able to be with anybody. God, I've never even been kissed before. And now I'm gonna die, and-and I'll never be able to do anything I want to."
More tears fell, and Virgil stared up into the sky, not saying a word for a while. Then, he whispered. "At least there's one thing I can do, before it's all over. I can finally tell you that I love you. I don't even have to worry about the consequences of saying that now-I'll be dead, and it doesn't matter that you don't love me back."
Virgil was shocked at the pained cry that escaped Roman as he said that, looking over worriedly as the Royal broke down. Roman was shaking, and he gripped Virgil's hand tighter.
"I love you too," he cried, unable to keep himself together any longer. "I love you so much. Virgil, I don't want you to die yet either. I want to be with you, I want you to have all of those things that you said. I wish I could do something, anything!"
Everything was silent for a while, aside from both of the sides crying. Virgil spoke up again finally, quiet and nervous. "There's one thing you could do..." he mumbled.
"And what's that?" Roman asked bitterly. "Nothing that will save you."
"No, but... I think, it would make me happy. Or at least, feel a little bit better about dying." Virgil sighed, his own hand weakly squeezing Roman's.
"Kiss me..?" He murmured at last, not meeting the royals eyes. Roman was shocked for a moment, but quickly nodded his head.
"Anything for you, Virgil." He offered a weak smile. "I'd do anything for you."
He looked down at Virgil. The anxious side was much paler than usual, his hair was a mess and blood was everywhere. The sight made Roman want to break down again, but instead he took a deep breath to calm himself and leaned in.
Their lips touched, and at first neither of them were sure what they were doing. Then, Roman closed his eyes and Virgil followed, and instead of holding each other's hands they had moved to pull each other closer. Roman had one hand behind Virgil's head to hold him up closer to him, the other touching his cheek, and Virgil's arms weakly wound their way around Roman's neck.
As they kissed Virgil grew weaker and weaker, until he had to drop his arms from around Roman's neck. Roman still held him close, until he could no longer feel Virgil kissing him back. When he realized that Virgil had gone completely limp Roman pulled away from the kiss with a sob, knowing he was gone now and there was nothing he could do. He didn't let him go, arms tugging him closer as he cried loudly, face hidden in his neck.
Ends kinda abruptly sorry. Didn't really know how else to end it? Everything I thought of adding sounded kinda stupid, decided to just leave it there.
Also yeah, if you want I'll do an alternate ending of this. I have an idea, but I'm not telling you if it's fluff or more angst. You can find out, if you ask me to write it lol. I'm surprised, I'm actually kinda proud of this? I think it's actually kinda sad, which is good cause that's what I was trying to achieve.
Also, I really wanna write for some more aus? I have one specifically I wanna write. I wanna do some kind of Hogwarts au, but I won't write one of those until I've finished rereading Harry Potter again haha, and I don't have any ideas. I also wanna write a superhero au but 1. I don't have a good idea, and 2. It's been done, so much?? I've read a lot of them. So maybe I shouldn't?
I ALSO MIGHT WRITE SOMETHING FOR THIS IF YOU WANT IT LET ME KNOW
Oh yeah and I also painted my nails again! They're blue with hearts like in my oneshot from before look
lol I like them. I would've done jack skellington nails but I didn't have any white nail polish to do it with. I will next time, tho. As soon as I get some white nail polish.
Anyways, thanks for reading hope you enjoyed this. Also, from the question before about what ship id be the child of it was mostly a mix of analogical and logicality and wow I can definitely see both of those. None of the ships anyone mentioned had Roman in them tho lmao, which surprises me bc maybe I don't show it but I am soooo fuckin dramatic and egotistical(well, okay, you guys know how full of myself I am but-). I personally think analogical is the most fitting. I love them the most bc I relate to those characters so, y'know, it's perfect haha. I can see where logicality came from tho. When I'm excited and happy I'm definitely like Patton, I act like such a fuckin child when I'm happy just cause idk how else to express my emotions.
Okay, onto the ring pop thing(which I'm on my last suggestion for pls send more) *you go trick or treating with your friends on Halloween and when you come home and check your bags of candy you find only ring pops*
Take care of yourselves guys. Love you all. Bye!-Bob
