Cliché Café
Roman stood behind the counter. Red sweater with a yellow crown, black jeans, round glasses and a nametag saying 'Roman S' on it. He seemed to always have a bright and cheery attitude, but his regular customer seemed the opposite. Always glum and quiet.
Roman had always remembered his order, since it was simple, and he was in every morning. Not to mention, everytime he walked in, he caught his attention.
Roman began preparing his coffee. He finished and wrote 'Virgil' on the front. "Have an astonishing day, Virgil!" He waved as Virgil left the café.
The bells rang indicating someone has walked through the doors, but it wasn't who Roman was hoping to see.
"Hey Remy!" Roman smiled at his friend.
"Hey girl!" Remy smiled. The bells rang again and it was Virgil, but Roman had already beeb doing Remy's drink, meaning his co-worker, Patton, would have to take his order.
"Hi! What would you like?" Patton asked, smiling brightly.
"J-Just coffee... with vanilla c-creamer." Virgil stammered.
Patton turned and began making Virgil's drink, being cheery as usual. He finished right as Roman finished writing Remy's name.
"Uhm, Patton! I'll take it from here." Roman smiled. He took the drink from Patton and grabbed a sharpie. He wrote, 'Virgil. You are looking beautiful today :)'
Roman handed the drink to him and Virgil read what he wrote. And for the first time, he witnessed the most perfect thing ever. Virgil smiled.
The rest of the week went by quickly with Roman writing down more compliments towards Virgil.
The anxious boy walked through the doors with a smile. Which made Roman smile wider than before.
"Hello." Roman greeted.
"What's up, Prince Charming?" Virgil asked.
Roman was in shock, which wasn't very visible. He hadn't heard Virgil talk without a stutter. He began making him his drink.
'Virgil.' Was all he wrote. He paused for a moment then wrote down ten digits.
"I will do that." Virgil said, reading the number.
"I'll be waiting." Roman smiled and shook his phone in the air. He watched as Virgil walked out of the café.
"Hey girl!" Remy smiled walking into the café and towards Roman. "Who was that? I see him a lot, but today seemed different."
"That's Virgil. He's a regular customer." Roman had been friends with Remy for awhile, but has never seen him with his sunglasses off.
"Well, I say... you should totally date him!" Remy said.
"Really?" Roman asked.
"Girl, please! I saw the way you were lookin at him!" Remy gossiped.
Unknown Number: whats up princey?
Roman: Hello there Virgil!
Virgil: sorry i cant make it today, my friend is staying over and he said he doesnt want to go to a cafe to see me flirt with the worker
Roman: Haha, it's quite alright. I don't blame your friend. I wouldn't want to see my friend flirting with a cafe worker either.
Virgil: haha, yeah..
Roman: Oh, so you were flirting with me? ;)
Virgil: well.... maybe?
Roman: I see how it is. ;))
Virgil: im scared, what are you planning
Roman: You'll see. Be sure to be here tomorrow!
Virgil set his phone down.
"Were you just texting the café worker?" Logan asked, raising a brow at Virgil.
"Yeah." He admitted.
"You barely know him. Don't get attatched. I'm warning you, Virgil." Logan looked back down at his book.
"Let's do something. Go somewhere." An idea popped up in Virgil's mind. "Let's go to a gay bar tonight!" He looked at Logan and smiled widely.
He looked up at him quickly. "That is the worst idea I have ever heard." He said.
"C'mon, don't be boring." Virgil raised his brows.
Logan pondered for a moment. "Fine. What time?"
"Yes! How about ten?"
Ten o'clock came by quickly. Logan and Virgil arrived at the bar. There were a bit of people, but not a lot.
Someone caught Virgil's eye. It was the guy from the café, Patton. He watched him for a second then watched as Roman brought them both drinks.
Virgil's eyes widened and he hid his face with his jacket. He looked at Logan and whispered, "Y'know, maybe this wasn't a good idea. Let's go."
"Oh no, I am not coming all this way just to leave." Logan grabbed Virgil's arm, which revealed himself, and pulled him over to the bar.
Virgil gulped as he was seated right by Roman.
Roman turned when their shoulders accidentally bumped and smiled. "Hey Virgil!"
"H-Hi." He stuttered.
"Fancy meeting you here." Roman chuckled.
Logan rolled his eyes. "Is this the café... work...er..?" Logan slowed his words and lost track of what he was saying when he layed eyes on Patton.
Patton waved and smiled cheerfully. "Hello!"
"So, what brings you here, Virge?" Roman asks.
"I-I um... we g-got bored." Virgil kept his gaze elsewhere.
"Let's go outside and talk, fresh air and no one else." Roman smiled and grabbed Virgil's arm, pulling him out of the bar. "Now that we're alone, why don't we get to know each other."
"U-um yeah..." Virgil slouched in front of Roman.
"Is something wrong?" He asked, curious as to why Virgil was shy all of a sudden.
"N-no! Not at all!" Virgil looked up and his gaze met Roman's. He looked at his beautiful brown eyes through his round glasses. "I-I... I just..." he couldn't get his eyes off him.
Roman smiled and put a hand on Virgil's cheek. "You are the most magnificant thing... I have ver seen." He looked at him in aw.
Virgil blushed and leaned into Roman's touch. "So are you, Princey." He smiled.
"That pleases me to hear." He hugged the slouching boy. He held him close as if he let go, he'd never see him again.
"My friend is right," Virgil pushed Roman off. "We barely know each other." He sighed. "I'm just a boy who walks into a café every morning."
"I don't care."
"I do."
Roman grabbed Virgil again, embracing them in a hug. "For months I have been looking at the most beautiful creature every morning. So believe me when I say, this is the most special moment, and I will cherish it forever."
Virgil sighed and put his arms around Roman. "I don't know how to do this..."
"Do what?"
"I've never dated anyone before..."
"That's okay." Roman held Virgil arms length. He moved him closer and pressed lips to his cheek. "First times are always great." He smiled.
Virgil's face turned red in an instant. "Do you usually t-take things slow?" He asked.
"Depends on how desperate I am." He shrugged and Virgil looked at him. "I'm kidding. Whatever you want."
"Well, I don't want things to be fast, but also, I'm curious."
"About what? This?" And with that, Roman pressed his lips against Virgil's softly.
While that was going on, inside the bar, Patton and Logan were FULL ON making out, not pulling away for breath or anything.
Roman and Virgil went back to seeing each other in the café every morning. Roman would always press a kiss to Virgil's cheek before he left.
Logan usually came with Virgil to see Patton. They usually kissed on the lips, but not everyday. And Logan invited Patton over every weekend, and they always had so much fun.
"I'll see you late then, you Emo Nightmare." Roman kissed him on the lips.
"See ya tonight, SirSingAlong." Virgil winked before walking out the door.
"GIIIRL!" Remy shouted, walking into the café. "Were you just smooching with mr. emo?" He asked with a smirk.
"Indeed. And I am meeting him at his place tonight to hang out. I'm anxious to get there." Roman admitted.
Deceit walked in and up to Remy and Roman. He put an arm around the sassy gay boy.
"Have you gotten a man yourself?" Roman asked, smiling at the two.
"Sure have." Remy chuckled. "Anyways, we should head home and take a nap. Good luck with your date, girl!" He and Deceit walked out the door.
"Knock knock!" Roman shouted while knocking on Virgil's front door, who quickly answered.
"Hey Princey!" He smiled, planting a kiss on Roman's lips.
"Hello emo darling." He smirked and closed the front door. He grabbed Virgil's waist and kissed him deeply.
Virgil sunk into the kiss and put his arms around Roman's neck.
They both collapsed on the couch with Roman on top of Virgil. They didn't break the kiss as his hand moved up the anxious boy's shirt.
Virgil pulled away. "I-I'm sorry." He said, avoiding gaze with Roman.
"About what?"
"I don't know, I just don't feel right.."
"Oh, my bad..." Roman pulled his hand back and looked away.
"No no! It's not your fault!" Virgil grabbed Roman's waist and pulled him down, kissing him, hoping it would fix anything he had broken.
Roman smiled and kissed back, sitting on his lap and leaning into him.
It had only been a month of them dating, but to Roman, it felt like years. He hoped Virgil would stay in his life forever. And at that moment, he never wanted to let him go. "I love you, Virgil."
Those words hit Virgil in the chest. "I-I... love you too..." he looked up at Roman and smiled. He put a hand on his cheek and rubbed it with his thumb. "A lot."
Roman pecked Virgil on the lips then got off him. He held out a hand to help him up, and the smaller boy took it.
"Now, where is you room?" Roman asked.
Virgil took his hand and led him upstairs. He opened his bedroom door and Roman pushed him down onto the bed, instantly engaging in a kiss.
"Wait wait wait." Virgil said, pulling away. "I'm not ready f-for this yet..."
"Oh heavens no! Those were not my intentions! Trust me, I am not ready either." Roman put his cold hand up Virgil's shirt, touching his soft, warm skin.
"Your a... virgin?" Virgil asked, ignoring the coolness of Roman's hand.
"Of course I am. I don't do that with just anyone I date. I've been waiting for the right person." Roman smiled at the boy under him.
"Well," Virgil pulled the boy down on him and kissed him passionately. "I would like to be your first."
"But we both aren't ready!"
"Not now, you dimwit!" Virgil huffed and rolled out from under Roman.
"Of course." He sat up, along with Virgil, and wrapped his arms around him from behind. He began kissing his neck. "I will wait as long you want, my emo darling."
Virgil closed his eyes and smiled. "Thanks you, Princey."
