Book Open, Face Deep

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR BOOKS THE GENTLEMEN'S GUIDE TO VICE AND VIRTUE, THE LADIES GUIDE TO PETICOATS AND PIRACY,  THE BOOK THE ENCHANTRESS FROM THE SERIES THE SECRETS OF THE IMMORTAL NICHOLAS FLAMEL, FLASE PRINCE, AND PEAK!

Patton had stopped by the local library every morning. He was looking for this book, his favourite, The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue. (We stan)
Logan sat there quietly everyday, engulfed in the book Patton had been looking for. He was so entranced by Percy's and Monty's relationship as it grew throughout the book. And how every word made Felicity ten times smarter.
It was only recently that Patton had noticed Logan and the book. There was a saying he had for him, book open, face deep. Meaning his book was never shut and he always had his eyes on the words.
One day, Patton noticed Logan returning to book, finished. His eyes lit up and he ran to the desk.
"Uhm, may I have that book, please?" Patton asked, handing the librarian his library card.
The librarian had always been nice and pleasant. He wasn't too strict about noise, but he enjoyed the silence and so did everyone else walking in and out. His name was Roman. He wore big round glasses and always had his face in a book, smiling.
Roman smiled and took the card from Patton and scanned it. He handed the book to him.

Patton walked in the library the next day, noticing Logan with a new book, similar to the one Patton had just got. He wondered if it was the sequel. The Ladies Guide to Petticoats and Piracy. A book about Felicity, yes!
Patton sat at a table and opened his book to the bookmarked page and continued reading from there. He was at the part where Monty, Percy and Felicity were just leaving for their tour.
Patton had also been amazed by how Percy and Monty's relationship grew. At the beginning their best friends, at the end their lovers. But Patton hadn't gotten to the end.
Roman smiled at the figure that walked in, never seeing him before. He looked at the strange guy closely.
The guy walked to a specific area, as if he knew the place like the back of his hand. He grabbed a book, Autoboyography. Then he walked it up to the counter and slid his card and the book on the counter.
Roman gave a welcoming smile and scanned the card and book. "Enjoy! I hear that one's an adventure!"
The guy didn't answer or give an expression, just walked out.
Patton giggled at something in the book. Afterwards he felt eyes on him. He looked up from the book and saw Logan staring at him, quickly looking away after Patton's gaze.
Logan blushed and went back to reading. He cleared his throat and read the lines carefully, understanding each and every word as he went along.

The guy from the day before enters once again. Roman always gave him a look of fondness when he'd walked in.
Virgil took a seat at an empty table. He slouched and began reading his book. You could tell, by just opening the book, he was already entranced by what it had to offer.
Logan, always there before anyone else, closed his book and sighed. He had finished. In just a day, and such a thick book. (Literally me when I was reading The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue) He brought it up to Roman and handed it to him.
"What an adventure, huh? You get something big with and between Monty and Percy, best gay couple ever, then you get Felicity and Callum. It was quite confusing at first when read it. Wondering who Callum was and where Percy and Monty had gone. But if you need something to read, I have a suggestion of a six book series." Roman leaned on the counter, putting his elbows down.
Logan pushed up his glasses. "I would for sure enjoy that, thank you."
"No problem. The series is called Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. By Michael Scott (that's actually the authors name and I love it) Look in the S section." Roman smiled.
Logan nodded and walked over to thr S section. They put things in order by author's last names.
Once he had found the books, he grabbed the first one of the series. The Alchemyst. (Oh my god, I cried when I finished the last book)

A week has passed and Patton had started on the series Logan was just about to end.
He was on the last book, the part where Josh and Sophie were running up the Pyramid from the Anpu's and other creature headed monsters, the twins just joining Joan of Arc, Prometheus, Shakespeare, Saint Germain, and Palamedes at the top to fight off the creatures.
Patton was actually halfway through the second book.
Virgil was on The Ladies Guide to Peticoats and Piracy. He enjoyed it, soaking in Felicity and Callum's adventure after he had finished Monty and Percy's, his new gay OTP.

Another week and both Logan and Patton were on Autoboyography. And Virgil had been on the fifth book of The Secrets of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel.
The books they had read throughout the three weeks had them in a fantasy world, them being endured in every adventure they get sucked into.

Five days and Patton had started The Disendants Triology. All about an orphan named Sage that gets taken by one of the twenty regents of the king, Belvin Conner, who gets three other boys, Latamer, Roden and Tobias.
Latamer is sick and Conner says he is free to leave. As Mott leads him to the wagon, oblivious to Conner's plan, Cregan shoots him with an arrow. Which made Sage furious as he tried to attack Cregan.
In the end (HUGE SPOILER) Sage ends up being the actual lost prince of Carthya who went missing four years ago, but Conner, Tobis, Roden, Cregan and Mott are oblivious. Mott was the first to know.
Conner's plan was to make one of them king, as the royal family is dead, by no other than Belvin Conner. Everyone thinks the pirates killed Prince Jaron, but only his father knew he was in disguise as Sage in an orphanage.
Patton smiled widely as he closed the book he had finished. He got up and went over to the counter.
"Ah, my favourite series. The second book is an adventure. And so is the third. Be prepared." Roman chuckled and scanned his card.
Patton giggled and went to grab the second book of the series. He found it and walked back to the counter to check it out.
Once Roman scanned his card again, Patton skipped back to his seat and sat down, quickly opening his book. Book open, face deep.

Another three days. Patton was on the third book of The Disendants Triology series, the last book. And Logan had started Peak.
Virgil had finished White Fang and had also begun Peak. He was amazed by Peak's acts on climbing the skyscraper.
"Y'know," Roman set down his book. "I always see you three here. You guys are my star readers." He smiled.
The three boys looked up at the librarian. Patton giggled.
"It's funny, cause we've all read or are reading the same book/series!" Patton looked at Logan than Virgil.
"I guess that is a nest coinsidence." Logan said, pushing up his glasses.
     "I'm Patton." Patton smiled widely.
"Yo, I'm Virgil." Virgil put up two fingers in a salute.
     "Logan." Logan straightened his tie.
"You all know me." Roman smiled. "Now, I'll let you finish your books. Have fun, you'll enjoy those." He winked and continued reading the Eden series by Joey Graceffa. (Stfu)

Two days, none of them came in. Roman wasn't smiling as much as he usually does after seeing the three boys not arrive and read like usual.

Four days, still no sign. Roman sighed and kept glancing at the doors, hoping they'd walk in. Logan usually arrived at 8:30 am. Patton usually arrived at 10 am. And Virgil usually arrived at 11 am. It was 2pm.

One week had passed and the three boys walked in, smiling and talking with each other at nine am.
Roman smiled wide. "Long time no see. Where have you three been?" He asked.
"We've been reading at Logan's house. But we decided to come back and read here cause we like it more." Patton giggled and handed Roman the last book of the Disendants Triology.
Logan handed him Peak, and Virgil handed him the same book at Patton.
"Any book suggestions? We don't know what to read." Virgil sighed.
"Look around, fi d what interests you." Roman smiled.
"I think that's enough books for four weeks. Let's take a week break and continue books later." Patton said. "Let's go to the café down the road. Want us to get you something, Roman?" Patton smiled.
"Oh, sure! Candy cane latté?" He handed Patton a ten to pay for his drink.
The boy smiled and took the ten and put it back on the counter. "On it! Let's go boys!"
     "Autobots, roll out!" Virgil said.
     "Oh my god..." Logan mumbled.

The three boys walked back into the library. Patton smiling widely as they walked up to the counter. He handed Roman his drink.
"So, what was your favourite part in Peak?" Roman asked.
"Maybe when Zopa took Peak and Sun-jo up the mountain while Captain Shek thought they were in Nepal." Virgil replied.
"Well he also took Yash and Yogi up the mountain, not just Peak and Sun-jo." Logan corrected.
"Well, yes, but you guys know that." Virgil cleared his throat.
"My favourite part in The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue is when Percy and Monty kiss for the first time. I think it wad cute." Patton giggled.
"Or when Monty had sex with a fancy popular girl and got caught so he ran across the courtyard, which had a hundred people from the party, naked. Which made Felicity and Percy lecture him. I think it was real funny." Virgil chuckled.
"Patton, the first time Monty and Percy kissed, Monty literally got pissed at him. Is that the cute your looking for?" Logan clarified.
"I was talking about the kissing part, not Percy getting angry!" Patton huffed. "Fine, then my favourite part is when their in the water on the private beach area and they kiss. That was cute, and Percy wasn't mad." Patton took a sip of his hot cocoa.
"That was pretty cute." Virgil looked at Roman.
"I liked the reaction from Conner when he learned Sage was the real long lost Prince Jaron of Carthya." Roman said. "I have always been interested in royal stuff. My friendd, Joan and Talyn, call me Princey."
"Okay, Princey." Virgil winked and smirked, earning a blush from Roman.
"Those do amuse me, but I like the adventure of Peak. Kind of how there are surprises and codes to crack." Logan said, straightening his tie and pushing up his glasses.
"I like The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel! How it's filled with magic and stuff! I think it's cool that you can have vampires, Scathach, Aofie and Prometheus, and not have it be something sexual! And I have always been fond of magic and stuff!" Patton exclaimed, taking yet another sip of hot cocoa.
"I love the uprising adventure of The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue. Monty and Percy's adventure together is always something I wanted. Percy was able to get mad at Monty, but their love for each other never changed. They had always been best friends since little, and I think it's awesome that in the end they became lovers." Virgil kept his gaze on Roman the whole time he explained why he loved the book.

The next day rolled around in ease. The three boys stumbled into the library to find Roman, who closed his book and smiled at the boys.
"What'cha readin'?" Patton asked, smiling at Roman.
Roman held up Elites of Eden. "The second book of the Eden series. It's so good!" He set it down and put his elbows on the counter and leaned into his hands with his chin.
"I've already read it. It sure is something. Lots of events happen in the three books." Virgil shoved his sweaty palms into the pockets of his jacket.
"I know. I'm almost finished with Elites of Eden, and then onto the third and last book. Rebels of Eden." Roman sighed and stood straight. "Nobody ever comes in here anymore besides you three."
Logan fixed his glasses. "Not everyone is in love with book y'know."
     "Or you..." Virgil mumbled.
"What was that, Virge?" Patton asked, whipping around.
"Oh, nothing. Just me talking to myself. I was contemplating whether I should re read a series and must've said something out loud." He lied.
Logan had heard what Virgil said and raised a brow at him. He gave him a nod as if saying he'll keep his secret.
Virgil sighed and watched Roman, examining his face as he talked.
"My shift ends at three today. Wanna go Christmas shopping? I need to badly." Roman suggested.
"I'd love to!" Patton was practically jumping with excitement.
"That would be splendid." Logan smiled a little.

Roman went into Hot Topic. Virgil went into Zumies. Logan went into Justice. And Patton went into Kohl's.
When they all met up at the food court, they kept their things they bought hidden.
Roman and Logan got sushi and Virgil and Patton got Chinese food.
"We can stop by Patton's house and open our stuff." Virgil said, filling his mouth with chowmein.
"This shall be ideal." Logan said, picking up a peice of sushi with his chopsticks and eating it.

They did a littls more shopping for theirselves then Roman drove them to Patton's house.
Once they arrived, Patton unlocked the door. His walls were a light blue and he had white fairy lights hung up. He had a black soft leather sofa with an ottoman. There was a Christmas tree and presents surrounded the bottom.
Roman, Patton and Logan sat on the couch while Virgil sat on the floor near Roman.
"I'll go first!" Patton pulled out a striped tie with different shades of blue. He smiled at Logan. "That's not all!" He handed the tie to him and pulled out an embroided patch. It was a brain with glasses. "You can put this on your suit! It shows how smart you are!"
"Wow... thank you... Patton." A small blush appeared on his cheeks.
"My turn, I guess." Virgil said. He pulled out a red crop top with a crown on it. "You said you were always into royal things and that your friends called you Princey." He handed it to him. He grabbed the book from Up out of the bag. "This is Our Adventures book from Up, and since I already know we have a long future ahead of us, this is where we can keep out memories." He smiled and blushed.
Roman looked st him stuff and smiled. "Thank you so much, Virge!" He leaned down and hugged him.
Logan began rummaging in his bag. "First," he said, pulling out a cat hoodie. "I heard you like cats. And you like to act like one sometimes, so I got you this." He grabbed a llama plushie out of the bag. "I thought you'd also like this, since you luke animals so much." He handed the items to him.
"Ahhhh! Logan, I love them so much!!" Patton replaced his cardigan with the cat hoodie and hugged Logan.
Roman smiled and looked at Virgil. "Looks like it's my turn!" He said. He took off his glasses and pulled out a black hoodie with purple and black plaid patches. "I thought you'd like this, since you once told me your favourite colour is purple and I always see you in that black and gray plaid hoodie, so I thought the black would match." He set that on his lap and grabbed black nailpolish and black stud earrings. "I got these to match your personality. I think you'd look cute with them on." He pulled out a t-shirt. "And this," it was a black MCR Black Parade shirt. "I knew you'd like cause yesterday you told me it was your favourite band."
"Princey, y-you were only supposed to get tw-two things. I can't accept all this." Virgil looked at the stuff Roman was handing him.
"Sure you can!" Roman smiled wide.
"P-Princey- I-" he kept stopping himself, unsure of what to say. Finally he took the items and a wide goofy grin and blush appeared on his face. "I love it." He said.
"Good. I'm glad." Roman stood up. "What shall we do now?"
Logan held up four of the same book. You Know Me Well. "I got books."
They all smiled and each took one.
