(Prinxiety) flower crowns

Darkness is cold, lonely, quiet. And scary.

Brightness brings warmth, is filled with life, and is very likable and loved.

Virgil sighed as he sat under a tree sitting crisscrossed on the soft lush green grass underneath the cool shade while Roman walked around happily picking flowers from the rich meadow, the sun gave him a radiant glow and Virgil thought he looked way more beautiful under the sunshine surrounded by the multicoloured flowers, he fit perfectly in the scenery. He looked like he belonged there.

Roman looked over to Virgil and grinned. “Why don't you join me?” He waved him over, Virgil looked around and shuddered, as much as he loved Roman, he hated the sunlight. It hurt his eyes and gave him headaches, and he was someone who would easily get sunburnt. “I'm perfectly fine over here.” He replied and pulled his hood over his head, Roman frowned. “It's no fun picking flowers alone.” He whined.

Virgil shrugged. “If it makes you feel better I enjoy watching you pick flowers.” He stated, Roman thought for a moment. “Does that mean you're happy?” He asked. “Of course.” Virgil smirked. “Then yes, it does make me feel better.” He laughed and continued to pick flowers. Virgil rolled his eyes and hugged his knees to his chest, sometimes Virgil compared himself to darkness.

In a way he was gloomy, scary, cold,  and was sometimes feared by others just like the darkness. His heart was black and his mind was darkness.

And Roman was bright, he was always shining, welcoming and calm,  warm and cozy, and everybody loved him. And Virgil was confused as to why the male loved him so, what did he see in the gloomy trait? What did he see beyond the darkness and bitter cold? Roman soon returned with flowers in his arms, he sat crisscrossed in front of his quiet boyfriend and set the flowers down in front of him.

Virgil eyed the flowers and then lifted his gaze up to Roman who smiled at him. “Let's make flower crowns.” The prince said excitedly with a gleam in his beautiful eyes. Virgil hid his blush and nodded, he picked up a few flowers and looked at them. “I hope you like them, I tried to get some that might appeal to you. Specifically purple.” Roman said and began to weave the stems of the flowers together.

Virgil smiled and copied Roman messing up a few times until he finally got the hang of it, when he got tired of sitting up and having to keep his back straight he lied down on the grass and rested his head on Roman's lap, they continued to make flower crowns until their fingers ached and the smell of nectar and the fragrance of the flowers surrounded them.

Virgil loved the feelings of Roman's warm hand holding his own cold one, he leaned closer wanting to soak up all the warmth he gave off and sighed in content, something warm slipped down his cheeks. Roman looked down at him and gasped. “Are you crying?” He asked worriedly and wiped away his tears. “N-no, it's the pollen.” Virgil sniffed.

Roman exhaled deeply and placed a kiss on his forehead. “You're my little piece of sunshine.” He whispered to him which only caused more tears to fall, and it was then that Virgil found out that even with the darkness he held within himself, deep down he had something warm, and bright, and loving. He had a brightness in him that shone in his eyes and gave him that small jolt of life.

He wasn't all darkness and he was happy for that, happy that he wasn't alone.

“You jerk Roman.” He grumbled. “How am I a jerk!?” Roman asked exasperated.

“For making me cry...” Virgil mumbled

“And for loving me.”
