Thunder.

Virgil hated the thunder. Rain was nice, it was calming and Virgil loved it, but add in thunder and lightning and it was the exact opposite of relaxing. The loud and sudden noise startled Virgil. He jumped every time, flinching and curling into himself more and more, as if trying to hide from the sound.

He wasn't sure when he started crying, he was too panicked to notice it, but he felt a tear roll off his cheek and onto his pillow, and more were following. He jumped once more as the thunder sounded again, lightning flashing almost immediately after. He squeezed his eyes shut, hand over his ears to block out the sound.

He jolted when he felt a hand reach out to touch his shoulder, opening his eyes and looking up, eyes wide and body shaking. Logan was there, eyebrows furrowed and lips curled downwards in a frown.

"Virgil, are you alright?" He asked when Virgil moved his hands away from his ears. His only answer was a yelp when the thunder sounded once again, Virgil going back to covering his ears and closing his eyes. Almost immediately Logan understood, and quietly took a seat next to him. He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, pulling him close and running a hand through his hair.

Virgil seemed to relax slightly while being held by Logan, and slowly started to loosen up, no longer scrunching up his eyes. His breathing became more normal, and although he still didn't move his hand away from his ears Logan considered this an improvement. He still jumped when the thunder was loud enough for him to hear it despite covering his ears, but he stayed relaxed after it passed.

Logan sat with him throughout the entire storm, tapping his arm when it stopped to let him know he could stop covering his ears. Virgil opening his eyes and looked up at Logan, smiling appreciatively and relaxing completely, wrapping his now free hands around Logan in a hug. "Thank you," he muttered softly, pressing a short kiss to his lips.

"I will always be here to help you, Virgil." Logan returned his smile fondly, still running his hand through his hair. "Lay back down. I'll stay with you tonight. If you would like me to, that is."

"Please do," Virgil whispered, frowning. He didn't want to be alone. Logan nodded, laying down with Virgil and still holding him close.

"I love you," Logan spoke quietly and hesitantly. Virgil smiled, leaning into him.

"I love you too."

I really liked this. The idea was cute and also I kinda like how I wrote it

I've heard a lot that when you're writing you should try and show not tell and I'm like, really bad at that so I tried to do kinda better here? Idk I hope it was good!!

All I have to say here is feelings are stupid and complicated and I hate period cramps
