Virgil couldn't sleep. Not that this was anything knew, of course, he usually was unable to get any rest due to his anxious thoughts. That's exactly what was keeping him up now.

He had been hoping not to wake his boyfriend, Logan, but unfortunately after he had shifted slightly the other began to stir, opening his eyes slowly and looking over at Virgil.

"What's wrong?" He mumbled tiredly. "Can't sleep?"

Virgil shrugged, looking over at him and giving an unconvincing smile. "I'm fine. Go back to sleep."

Logan frowned, wrapping his arms tighter around the anxious trait. "Virgil. What is wrong?" He asked sternly, and Virgil sighed.

"Just, can't stop thinking." He muttered, and Logan gave him a look to tell him to keep talking. "I'm anxious. I can't stop thinking about... well, a lot of different things. The future, mostly. I'm scared of it."

"What is there to be scared of?" Logan questioned, brushing some hair away from Virgil's eyes to see him better. "The future isn't here yet."

"I know, but... Well, I just can't help but think of all of the possibilities. Tomorrow, I could be gone. Thomas could be gone. You could be gone... I don't want to lose you." Virgil whispered, and Logan felt his heart breaking at how terrified he looked. "I don't know how I could handle that... I hate just thinking about it."

"Then don't." Logan frowned, holding his boyfriend closer. "I am aware it's not that simple, but you shouldn't have to worry about that. Right now, you're here. With me, and I'm not going anywhere. Try and focus on that. Just remember to focus on the moment you're living in, and we can worry about the future when it comes."

Virgil thought for a minute, thinking about what he said. He finally nodded, calming down slightly and focusing on the moment. He payed close attention to how it felt to be in Logan's arms, how warm and protected he felt. He focused on how happy Logan made him. He didn't think about tomorrow, didn't worry about Logan leaving. He just enjoyed being with him in this moment.

Logan felt Virgil relax against him, shuffling closer and hiding his face in his chest. "Yeah, you're right." He breathed. "Thanks."

"Of course," Logan smiled, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "You can always wake me up if you need anything, remember that. I love you very much, Virgil."

"I love you too, Logan." He yawned. "I think we both need some more rest now, though."

"Yes, that would probably be best." Logan ran his hands gently through Virgil's hair. "I hope you are able sleep well."

It wasn't until Logan was sure Virgil had fallen asleep and wasn't going to wake that he even thought about shutting his eyes, wanting to be sure that he would be alright. Once he was positive Virgil was resting he stopped running his hand through his hair, putting his arm back around Virgil and holding him. He smiled as he felt his own eyes falling shut, until he too drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Okay so I was really sad when I started writing this, like, I don't wanna exist anymore sad, but now I feel a lot better and I'm also really exhausted so, sorry this is short hope it was good anyways
