Overreacting (Anxiety x Logic)
Virgil didn't mean to overreact. He knew it was ridiculous to cry over something to small, that wouldn't even matter in the next hour, but it seemed that nothing was going his way that day-actually that entire week-and he was just so tired of it all.
So, here he was, sitting in the floor and crying his eyes out over nothing. He hoped no one would come and find him like this, he didn't want to be seen when he was such a mess. The thought made him anxious, and he cried harder, curling in on himself as he sobbed.
Unfortunately for him, Logan had heard him crying and left his own room to find where the sound was coming from. He saw his friend crying, and knew he wanted to help although he wasn't sure how. Walking over to him, Logan sat down with him and put a hand on his shoulder, causing Virgil to jump and look towards him. Although he hadn't wanted anyone to see him this way, Virgil found himself only wanting comfort at that moment, so he turned to Logan and hugged him.
Logan was caught off guard. He didn't expect to be hugged, and especially not by Virgil, who usually hated any physical contact. While he himself didn't tend to enjoy hugs he pushed it aside in favor of comforting his friend, wrapping his own arms around him and rubbing his back. He wasn't quite sure what to do now, but decided to find out what was troubling Virgil.
"Why are you upset?" He asked bluntly, frown settling on his face at the thought of anything causing his friend discomfort. He was worried about him.
"I... don't even know, honestly," Virgil sniffled, pulling back from the hug to wipe at his face. Although Logan typically did not enjoy hugs, he found himself missing being so close to Virgil. It was strange, but he pushed that thought aside to focus on listening to him. "I just feel like nothing has been going well for me this week. I've been even more anxious than usual, I can't sleep because of it. Then just... silly little random things that happen, they make me feel even worse. It's like the universe hates me right now or something."
"I doubt that, seeing as its kind of impossible for the universe to hate anything. I do not believe it has feelings of love or hatred." Logan spoke before even really thinking about it, as soon as the words left his mouth he regretted them. What if he made Virgil feel worse? What if he made it sound like his feelings weren't valid?
Virgil laughed softly, surprising Logan. He had expected a not so pleasant reaction towards what he had said. "Why did that make you laugh?"
"Well... you always take things so literally. It's... well, it's cute." He mumbled, shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, if it makes you happy then I am glad. Is there... anything else I can do, to make you feel happy?" Logan asked, nervous. He wasn't sure why. "I would like to help."
Virgil gave him a tiny smile, wiping the rest of his tears away. "Thanks. I don't know... You don't have to help me anymore, I don't want to bother you. I already appreciate that you sat with me and let me hug you."
"It would not bother me, Virgil. In fact, I would love to help, and to spend more time with you. Being around you, it makes me feel... happy." Logan admitted, face burning. He didn't really understand why he felt so strongly towards his friend-he never had this with Patton or Roman. It certainly wasn't bad, though.
"Well.. In that case," Virgil started, a blush on his own cheeks. "Would you wanna get some ice cream and watch a movie on the couch?"
"That sounds wonderful." Logan smiled, standing and helping Virgil up as well.
****
Logan set his finished bowl of ice cream aside, turning his attention back to the movie after. He and Virgil were sharing a blanket, sitting on the couch and watching Virgil's favorite movie.
Logan was slightly startled when he felt a weight on his shoulder, turning to find Virgil leaning his head on him and looking nervous. He glanced up at Logan, checking to see his reaction. Logan smiled at him assuringly, wrapping arm arm around Virgil's shoulders and adjusting so that they were both sitting more comfortable. He noticed Virgil smiling shyly, which only made his own smile grow. They both turned back to their movie silently.
"Hey, Logan...?" Virgil muttered, glancing up at him as the movie came to an end. Logan hummed in reply, looking down at him inquisitively.
"I love you." He spoke quietly and anxiously, looking back to the screen to avoid Logan's eyes. Logan was surprised, but as he thought about it he came to the conclusion that he returned Virgil's feelings.
Leaning down to press a kiss to his forehead, Logan smiled at him. "I love you, too."
I'm sad and I want someone to cuddle with me and eat ice cream while we watch Disney movies so I wrote this for you guys
You're welcome, I guess. I love this ship so much, seriously.
So like..... I've been feeling really awful lately so this either means that I will disappear from here, or I will spam you with oneshot after oneshot as a way to ignore all of my life problems right now. So like.... be prepared for either no oneshots for a week (or however long this lasts) or ten oneshots a day. I dunno which one yet. Kinda leaning towards writing a lot, though.
Anyways, I'm gonna go be more productive with my schoolwork now. Wish me luck. *sea slug dressed as your favorite actor delivers a ring pop to you*
Take good care of yourself. In case you haven't heard this, if you're alive right now I'm proud of you. Love you guys. 💜💜 Bye!-Bob
