Flowers Part 2 (Prince x Anxiety)
Someone asked for a part two literally not even a minute ago and I thought about it and had an idea so here we go
It had been a few weeks since Virgil had doodled a flower on the popular boy's paper during class. Since then he had to admit, he had take notice of Roman a lot more than he ever did before. He saw him differently, he wasn't just this tough jock guy that everyone knew. He was different, and sweet, and the more Virgil noticed him the more obvious it was.
If the guy wasn't already hot as the popular kid he was even cuter every time Virgil would catch him smiling at small things; like when one of their classmates, Patton, made a silly joke that every one else groaned and rolled their eyes at, when he caught him helping a new student find their way around without even being asked when most others just ignored them. He was kind, but most people didn't know that about him. Virgil felt lucky to be able to see that side of him, even though he had never really talked to the guy.
Virgil had skipped his class one day, just sitting down at the back of the school, leaning against the building. He had had a panic attack and needed to get away from everyone, and this was where he had gone to hide.
Unfortunately, he was not the only one who had the idea to skip class and stay outside, because he was soon joined by a certain secretly soft popular guy.
"Oh. I wasn't expecting anyone to be out here, hi." Roman smiled, waving awkwardly at Virgil who saluted in return.
"Yo." He replied simply, looking straight ahead in the hopes of avoiding more conversation. Sure he liked Roman, but that didn't really mean he wanted to talk to him. He didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment.
The universe was not on his side today, and Roman decided to sit down next to him. He didn't say anything though, so Virgil decided it was okay if the two just sat there together. He felt content-having someone to sit with was actually very nice.
"So... you're in my math class, right?" Roman tried to start up conversation, making Virgil sigh.
"Yeah. Surprised you'd remember that." Virgil glanced over at him, and Roman shrugged.
"I mean... you are the one who drew flowers on my paper while I was sleeping, right?" He asked, and Virgil smirked.
"Just two. You drew the rest of them. I never would've guessed that you were secretly a super cute dork." He shifted so he could face Roman better, to see his reaction. Roman flushed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and laughing.
"Ha, yeah. Thanks." He smiled at Virgil. "You know you're also a really cute dork, right?"
"How would you know that?" Virgil raised an eyebrow in question.
"You were the one to draw the first flower." Roman shrugged, grinning.
"Alright yeah, but I'm not the one that tries to pretend I'm super cool and tough all the time when secretly I like stupid jokes and flowers and helping other people."
"Helping other people? I'm not heartless." Roman frowned, and Virgil shrugged.
"Just wouldn't have expected it from you."
"Just because I'm popular?" He questioned, and Virgil shook his head.
"Because you try too hard to act cool." He started, turning back to look straight ahead. "Some people will do anything to prove to people they're cool. Even if it means being mean to others, and pretending to like things they don't and hate things they like."
"Well," Roman muttered, feeling embarrassed. "At least I'm not mean to others."
The two fell silent for a while, both of them looking straight ahead and thinking. Finally, Virgil spoke up. "So why pretend?"
"I don't try to." Roman answered honestly. "I don't lie about liking or disliking things. I just don't talk about it."
"Don't you want to? Talking about things that interest you is good. That's how you find people who will, y'know, actually like you for you." Virgil looked back over at him, and Roman looked back.
"You have a point." He admitted. "By the way, how did you know all of that just from me drawing flowers on my paper?"
Virgil felt his face burn, and he quickly turned away from Roman, laughing awkwardly. "Well, you see, I may or may not have just... happened to notice you around and payed attention to your actions and stared at you when you smiled at Patton's jokes because you were cute. Probably not though."
Roman smiled at Virgil, reaching out to put his hand over Virgil's comfortingly. "I see. Well, if that is true, I think you're cute too. Would you maybe wanna go out sometime?"
Virgil looked down at their hands, and then up at Roman's face. "Sure, dork. As long as you agree to be yourself the whole time. I've already seen through your tough guy act, don't think you can fool me."
"Alright," Roman laughed again. "I think I can agree to that. I'll be happy to see you again."
"Yeah," Virgil mumbled, smiling. "Me too."
I hope this was alright I don't actually know how I feel about it
Also anytime I write about them being in high school like keep in mind I've never actually been to high school so. I mean, not cause I'm young but I'm homeschooled so. Idfk haha.
Also I really did start outlining that analogical book and I'm on chapter two of it but I wanted to stop and write this for a bit so. I'll hopefully have a new book out soon, yay! I need something to work on haha. (Actually I probably don't I have a lot of other shit to get done but oh well lmao)
Also people told me they had actually no idea I was a trans guy until I said something about it and like
Really?? I thought I was pretty obvious I mean
I feel like I complain about boobs a lot. For real tho they're weird I do not like them okay (I've also mentioned a couple times I hate periods. So like what)
Plus if you guys think I look like a dude in all the pictures I take then why does everyone else in the world think I'm a chick
Haha idk oh well. Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this. *caterpillar cocoons itself in Sanders sides themed baby blankets and emerges as a beautiful rainbow ring pop*
