Fall (Prince x Anxiety)

Winchester_At_Heart chose the ship for this one. Thank you ^•^

"It's very pretty outside, isn't it?" Roman mentioned as he looked out the window. Outside the colored leaves were falling from trees, littering the ground. Virgil looked up from his phone, looking outside and shrugging. He agreed, it was pretty, but he wouldn't tell Roman he was right.

"I guess," he said simply, looking back down at his phone. Roman rolled his eyes as he looked over at him.

"Oh, come on. It's pretty! We should spend some time outside today." The royal suggested, looking away from Virgil and back to the window, smile on his lips.

"Spend time outside? No thanks." He scoffed. "What would we even do out there?"

"It's fall! We could go out and jump in the leaves." He suggested, his grin growing wider as he thought about it more. "Come on, it will be fun."

"That sounds fun to you?" Virgil questioned, although being outside and spending time with the other didn't sound too awful. "Plus, we'll have to rake the leaves up first anyways. That sounds boring."

"Oh, c'mon. It's not too bad!" Roman tried to convince him, walking over and taking his hand. He tried to pull him out of his seat, but Virgil didn't move. "Please?"

Virgil stared at him for a minute, considered it. Finally he sighed, standing up. "Fine, whatever."

Roman cheered, still holding the anxious traits hand and pulling him outside, Virgil following behind. He seemed reluctant but really he was happy to get out of the house.

Somehow, with the weather being nice and cool, the outside scenery so pretty, and being with Roman, even what would normally be a chore became fun and exciting. Roman had challenged Virgil, turning it into a game. They were trying to see who could make the biggest pile the fastest. Roman was winning, and he seemed excited about it. Virgil didn't tell him he was only so far ahead because he kept getting distracted watching the royal.

He was just so excited, and the smile on his face made Virgil want to smile as well, simply happy to see the other happy. He was snapped out of his daze as Roman turned around, cheering.

"We've finally finished! And of course, my pile is the biggest, so I win." He grinned, and Virgil scoffed.

"Yeah right," he said, walking over to his pile of leaves and raking them so they were mixed in with Roman's pile. "You don't even have a pile, these are all mine."

Roman shook his head, a smile on his face. "Whatever. I won, you're just bitter about it. That's besides the point though, now that we're done we get to jump in the leaves!"

Virgil, glancing over at the huge pile of leaves that could cover up both of them, frowned. He was suddenly very worried about it. Who knows, maybe when they weren't looking a snake had hidden under the leaves. Or, perhaps there was a spider crawling around. Maybe more than one spider.

"I... dunno about this," he muttered, frowning. "Maybe it's not a good idea. One of us could get hurt."

"Oh, come on, Jack Smellington. It will be fine!" Roman insisted, although it wasn't very assuring. Before Virgil could argue more Roman had already run right past him, jumping and landing in the leaves.

Nothing was said for a moment, Virgil staring and waiting for him to get back up. There was no movement, however, and Virgil started to worry once more. He stepped a little closer, hesitantly calling out.

"Roman? You okay?" He asked, waiting to receive an answer. He took another step forward, waiting another minute. Nothing.

"Roman! Answer me." He frowned, stepping up again to the leaf pile. Once he was right at the edge of it, he waited.

Suddenly he felt something latch onto his leg, shrieking as he was dragged down and into the pile of leaves. He didn't know what was going on at first, so he fought to get away, only stopping when he heard laughter from underneath him. He looked at what he had fallen on, mouth agape.

"Roman?" He asked, frowning more. "You idiot!"

"Sorry, I'm sorry. I had to," Roman laughed, looking up at Virgil and smiling. Virgil did not smile back, moving to get back up. Roman stopped him, wrapping his arms around him and pulling him into a hug. "C'mon, please forgive me?"

Virgil huffed, refusing to look at him for a moment. Eventually he sighed, looking down at Roman. "If I forgive you will you let me get up? It's cold out here, and even if it is pretty I would prefer to enjoy it sitting inside looking out the window."

Roman nodded, smiling up at the anxious side, who rolled his eyes and looked away again. "Then fine, yeah, I forgive you now let me go."

"Okay, okay, I will, but before I do that..." Roman smiled mischievously, still holding onto Virgil and leaning in closer to him. Virgil caught on quickly to what he was doing, and his breath caught in his throat. As Roman got closer he looked at Virgil to be sure it was okay. After getting a nod from Virgil, who's eyes had almost slid shut, he leaned in the rest of the way, connecting their lips in a short, sweet kiss. He pulled away quickly, the both of them staring at each other silently. Roman, face red, let go of the other and allowed him to get up, Virgil doing so and reaching a hand down to help the royal to his feet. Roman accepted his hand, not expecting to receive another kiss from the anxious side once he got to his feet.

"So..." Virgil spoke after yet another awkward silence. "What was that all about?"

"It isn't obvious? I like you, Virgil. A lot." Roman told him, smiling nervously. Virgil smiled as well, looking to the ground to hide it and covering his mouth with his hand.

"I kinda guessed, but I was hoping you'd say it anyways." He shrugged. After a second he sighed, taking his hand away from his mouth to show his smile and looking back up at Roman. "I really like you too. I'm sure that was obvious too, though."

"I'm glad you do." Roman admitted, still grinning widely, and even more at seeing Virgil smiling. "Be my boyfriend?"

"If it means we can finally go inside to escape the cold by cuddling and kissing some more, then sure." He shrugged, his smile growing as well. "Sounds great to me."

"Wonderful." Roman smiled, taking his boyfriend's hand again and walking inside with him. Virgil followed, both of them walking inside and sitting on the couch together. Roman had gotten a blanket to wrap around the both of them as they huddled together, safe, warm, and happy to be together. Virgil stared out the window to the pile of leaves they had made, and even though they didn't spend much time jumping in leaves outside Virgil and Roman had both still had a wonderful time.

Fall was a beautiful season.

This may not be the best, and for that I apologize. I am kind of panicky at the moment.

I HONESTLY DONT KNOW HOW TO RESPOND TO COMPLIMENTS SOMEONE HELP

Like.... being called cute that's no big deal, I just say "thanks you too" and move on, but when someone like... goes out of there way to say something super long and sweet about me I'm just, completely lost. I'm not used to this much love and attention

Also yeah people said they didn't want my rambling at the end to stop, so it won't, there'll just be less of it. Again, if you want to hear me talk more you can read Thoughtful. It's like a journal thing I write my thoughts in every day.

Also yeah I haven't uploaded my analogical book yet but I will soon I swear. Also I have a couple more oneshots planned to write but I'm not sure if they'll be done tonight or tomorrow. Probably not tonight, I have chores to get done and I need to sleep eventually (I've been trying to get in some sort of schedule). So, we'll see what happens with that.

One might be analogical? If you guys want, that is. It'll be really short, I'm just trying not to write a whole bunch of it again bc I did annoy some people, aha.

Anyways, thank you all for reading I hope that you enjoyed it. *JD from Heathers hands you a bomb and when it explodes sends ring pops everywhere*

Take care of yourselves. Bye!-Bob
