Advice (Prince x Anxiety)

Knock, knock.

Prince stepped back from Morality's door, crossing his arms behind his back and rocking on his heels as he waited. He had come to Morality hoping to get some advice on something-that something being how to tell a certain someone he very much liked them. The dad-like side was always good at giving advice.

It didn't take long before the door opened, Morality smiling as he saw it was Roman. "What'd ya need, kiddo?" He asked, and Prince sighed.

"May I come in?" He asked, Morality glanced behind him for a moment. When he looked back he gave a nod, stepping aside for Roman to enter. Prince spotted Logic sitting up on Morality's bed, cleaning off his glasses.

"Hello, Logan." Prince nodded at his fellow side, who looked up at him finally. "May I ask what you and Morality were up to? I didn't hear either of you before I knocked."

"We were just, sitting together is all." Logic cleared his throat awkwardly, and Morality gave an embarrassed smile.

"I see." Prince raised an eyebrow, a smirk on his lips. "Anyways, I did have a question for you, Morality.." Prince's smile dropped as his tone became serious. "I have a bit of a problem I don't know how to handle.." He paused, sighing once more.

"Well spit it out kiddo, I'll do my best to help, but I can't if you won't say it." Morality put a hand on his shoulder, smiling assuringly. Prince smiled back.

"Well, you see, the issue is.. me and Anxiety have.." he tried to start, cutting himself off each time and trying to figure out how to word it. "Anxiety and I have been pretty close recently, I'm sure you've noticed. We could even be considered friends, even if he would not admit to it. And well, I have.. sort of developed some very strong feelings for him."

Prince braced himself for Morality's reaction, hearing him gasp loudly. "That's... that's adorable!" He exclaimed. "Logan, didn't I tell you they would make the perfect couple, oh boy I'm so glad! I-"

Prince cleared his throat to cut him off, cheeks red. "You told Logic we would be a good couple?"

"Oh, of course! I've thought it for a while now, you two are just perfectly opposite each other, and yet still so similar. You two are the perfect fit for each other!" Morality grinned, and Prince blinked. He looked to Logic to see if he understood any of what Morality was saying, but he simply shrugged and smiled.

"Well.. anyways," Prince began again, face still bright red. "I.. needed some advice on what to do about it. I don't think I should tell him, I.. I don't think he would return my feelings, and I do not wish to make things awkward. I enjoy being his friend. Plus he's never really even said he considers me a friend, so how could he possibly like me as more? I don't know what to do." Prince groaned, hiding his face in his hands.

"Aww, I'm sure he does like you back. Like I said, you two are perfect for each other!" Morality nudged Prince's shoulder. Prince kept his face hidden.

"Only you think so. What worries me is what he might think." Prince's voice was muffled by his hands.

Morality was searching for comforting words, when Logic cleared his throat. "If I may add something, I would just like to say you can never really know until to try. Anxiety has always seemed to have a difficult time in showing any kind of affection; perhaps the reason he has always teased you and fought with you was simply a way of getting your attention. You two are friends now, and he still teases you and acts as he did before. It could be he's liked you for some time now, without you even realizing."

Prince blinked, taking in what Logic had said. Slowly, he lowered his hands from his face and looked up at him. "So, you think he may like me back?"

"What I am saying is, the only way to ever know is to ask. Anxiety is most likely not going to be one to initiate a conversation like that due to his own, well, anxiety. Therefor, if you don't try, neither if you may ever really know how the other feels." Logic pushed his glasses up, and shrugged. "I do not know if that was helpful in any way, but I believe that if you truly want anything to come from you liking Anxiety, you should try."

Morality looked between Logic and Prince as Roman thought, waiting to see what he would say.

"I suppose you're right.." Roman nodded slowly. "I.. should be brave, and tell Anxiety. If I don't, I may lose a chance. Thank you, Logan."

"You are welcome. So, are you going to do that now?" Logic questioned, and Prince smiled.

"Yes Logan, I'll let you and Morality be alone again." He chuckled. "Thank you again. I'll see you later." He waved as he walked out of the door, Morality waving back while Logic just nodded.

Morality turned to Logan after he exited, a wide, proud grin on his face. "That was an amazing speech Logan, way better worded than I could have put it."

Logic's face heated up. "Well, thank you." He smiled.

As soon as Prince had exited Morality's room, he set off to find Anxiety. He was terrified, sure, but he had to overcome it for the chance that maybe, just maybe, it may work out for him. If it didn't, well, he supposed that it was better he found out it was unrequited now rather than obsessing over his feelings for a long time. Sure, it would break his heart in half and crush his soul just like a grape, but in the end he would survive. He was meant to be the brave Prince! He planned to live up to that title.

He soon arrived at Anxiety's door, head held high in confidence as he knocked.

Merely a second had passed as Prince spoke softly to himself. "Well, I tried, he's not here, guess I'll go." He tried to turn and run but was stopped by the door opening.

"..What do you want, Princey?" Anxiety mumbled, opening his door all the way and leaning on its frame, arms crossed. Prince grinned nervously.

"Well, you see, uh, there's something I, er.." Prince stammered, face burning. Anxiety watched with an amused smirk, raising an eyebrow at him.

"C'mon Princey, you can do it, speak." He mocked, chuckling as Prince glared.

"You see, that's just rude. I've come here to tell you something very important and you're mocking me. I do not very much appreciate being made a fool of!" Prince frowned, sighing. It was silent between the two for a moment.

"..you gonna say the important thing you came all the way here to tell me?" Anxiety questioned, and Prince blushed even more if possible, straightening up and nodding.

"Apologies. This is a little embarrassing, so please give me time to say it." Prince closed his eyes and took a deep breath as Anxiety nodded, staying quiet and letting him talk.

Another minute of silence passed, and Prince finally spoke up. "Well. I guess I'll just start by saying that, I am incredibly happy the two of us have grown closer and become friends, despite our occasional quarrels. I'm.. not even certain you consider me to be your friend, as you've never really said so, but I do consider you mine regardless."

Anxiety felt his cheeks warming now. "Course I do..." he mumbled, barely audible.

Prince smiled. "Then, I am glad you think so, and.. well, I do hope what I say now won't change that. Anxiety, over the weeks we have hung out as friends, you've made me incredibly happy. You have given me this.. feeling.. I'm not sure how to describe it, but seeing you makes me feel better than anything in the world. I.. have some romantic feelings for you, Anxiety." Roman sucked a breath in, holding it as he nervously awaited a response, eyes held tightly shut.

For a while, nothing. Then, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and Anxiety spoke. "I'm afraid this might change our new friendship with each other.." he muttered, and Prince winced. His words stung-his chest hurt like he had been stabbed. "Guess we'll have to be boyfriends now instead, since I return your feelings."

Prince froze. Slowly, his eyes opened. He stared in confusion at a grinning Anxiety, who was trying to hide his smiling, blushing face in his hoodie. "R-really?" Roman breathed out, wondering if maybe he was joking.

"If.. you actually want to.. Unless this was all a joke, then leave ignore everything oh god." Anxiety groaned, dragging a hand down his face. Roman smiled, and stepped close to Anxiety, pulling his hood away from his face.

"Definitely not a joke." He assured, pulling Anxiety towards him, foreheads touching. "So, if we are boyfriends now.. I can kiss you, correct?" He muttered, and Anxiety gave a small nod, breath caught in his throat. Prince smiled, and without any more hesitation pressed his lips to Anxiety's, pulling him even closer.

After a while the two disconnected from each other, grinning breathlessly as they stared into each other's eyes. Prince was glad he had taken Logic's advice.
