Dadceit
Damien was running around, stressed out of his mind. It was Christmas Day and he and the kids were going to spend it with Patton and his kids. It wasn’t the first time they had, but to Damien it seemed to be more special this year.
Honestly the only thing he had managed to do was get dressed and start dinner. The kids had spent most of the morning opening presents, then they all started getting ready
Damien was in a pastel yellow turtleneck sweater that went down past his butt. It was one Patton had gotten him for his birthday. He had on some black skinny jeans and some black combat boots. He had even styled his hair that day.
Remus was in a similar sweater, but it was bright green. He was in black jeans with rips, something he knew Damien didn’t like but he didnt care. He wore bright green converse with squid tentacles on them.
Virgil had been put in a sweater like the other two (Patton had gotten them each one, Damien wanted them to match). His was a deep purple, but unlike the others, he had on light blue leggings. He was in small purple boots, and Damien had put a purple flower crown on him.
Remus knew exactly why his dad was so stressed. It was completely obvious to him, Roman, and Logan that the two dads were in love. Virgil was too young to tell what was going on, but he was helping their plan nonetheless.
“Dad, stop stressing!” Remus chuckled, holding Virgil as their dad ran around the house like a mas man. “Honestly, it’s just Patton, Roman, and Lo. They won’t care if they come over and you’re still cooking.”
Damien laughed to himself, ruffling Remus’s hair as he passed by. “I know, Rem, but it’s Christmas. I want to spend as much time as possible being with the three of them and not cooking.” He went back to the kitchen, then heard the doorbell. “REMUS STAY AWAY FROM THE DOOR!”
The kid laughed as he ran, with Virgil in his arms, to the door. Damien was right behind them, glaring playfully at the older of his two sons. He opened the door. “Hey guys!”
Patton smiled. He was in some light blue overalls with a pastel pink shirt underneath, and had on white tennis shoes. He smiled brightly. “Heya, Damien!”
Damien looked down, smiling at Patton’s kids. He looked at them, quickly taking in what they were wearing.
Roman was in a red tee shirt and light blue jeans. His shoes were black converse with little golden crowns.
Logan was in his normal black polo, his tie on as well. He had on his slacks and dress shoes, too, but on his head was a flower crown of blue flowers he and Virgil had made last time they were over.
“Come on in,” Damien said, letting the three inside. “I’m sorry, dinner isn’t ready yet. I’ve been running around all day, and the boys were opening presents, and-”
“Damien,” Patton giggled, cutting him off. “Everything is ok, I promise. Want me to help you finish dinner? It can be something fun we do together!” He had a bright smile on his face, one that made Damien blush lightly.
The three older boys all shared a knowing glance, walking towards the play room.
“Y-yeah,” Damien said, smiling softly. “That sounds amazing, Pat. What if the kids-” He glanced around, chuckling. “Welp, guess it’s just us.”
Patton chuckled, nodding. “Sounds good!” The two went into the kitchen. They ended up having an amazing time cooking, messing around with one another.
In the playroom, things were a slight bit more serious. Logan, Roman, and Remus all sat around the little table, having a meeting. Virgil was on Logan’s lap, paying attention to what they were all saying.
“Logan,” Remus asked, “did you get the stuff?” He was smirking, hoping the other answered yes.
Logan rolled his eyes. “Of course I did, Remus. You dare doubt me?” He quirked an eyebrow, shifting Virgil to take something from his jacket pocket. He held up a small plant, easily identified as mistletoe.
Remus and Roman cheered. “Yes!” Remus said, laughing. “Those two have been pining for years, they’ll finally have to kiss!”
Roman nodded. “Yes, oh my gosh, Remus we’ll be brothers! They’ll get married and live happily ever after with us at their sides!”
His brother sighed. “Roman, you do realize this plan might not work, correct?” He didn’t want to be a downer, but Logan was very much so a realist.
Virgil looked up at Logan. “So they maybe not get together?” he asked in a childish voice. His eyes were wide, confused.
Logan paused. “No, no, Virgil. This plan will work,” he reassured the tot. “I promise it will.”
Roman and Remus smirked at one another. The four year old had Logan wrapped around his little finger. “Ok,” Remus chuckled, “Logan’s the tallest. He should hang it up. How about the doorway to the living room? They’re distracted in the kitchen anyways.”
He nodded. “That sounds adequate,” Logan said. "We should do it soon, to be certain they're distracted. You're sure you made him behind enough they won't notice?"
Remus rolled his eyes. "You dare doubt me?" he teased, mocking Logan. "I'm sure. They've got so much to do it's not even funny."
Logan smiled. "Excellent." He sat Virgil to the side, quietly creeping out of the room. He peered down the hall, going towards the kitchen.
He looked around the corner, and Logan couldn't help but smile. Damien was trying to make biscuits, but he was having trouble kneading the dough, so Patton was behind him, arms wrapped around, helping.
Logan bit back a giggle, carefully and quietly placing the mistletoe in the doorway, taping it to the ceiling. He dashed back to the play room. "All set."
Roman and Remus high fived one another, and step two was put into action.
After a few hours, Virgil ran into the kitchen. "Daddy, daddy! I colored you sometin!" He grinned. "Come wit me!" He ran back out, towards the play room.
Damien smiled and motioned Patton to follow. As they went to leave the kitchen, Roman blocked the way. "Nuh uh uh!~" he said in a sing song voice.
Logan stepped out, holding Virgil, and remus followed. "Look up," Remus said, smirking.
Both Damien and Patton look up at the same time, instantly recognizing the plant. Damien turned red. "What are you boys doing?" he hissed out lightly.
Logan fixed his glasses. "I do believe it's tradition that when two people step under the mistletoe together, they must kiss. You two do not wish to break tradition, right?" He had a small smirk on his face.
Now Patton went red. "Logan!" he scolded. "We do not play tricks on other people!"
The two younger ones crossed their arms, smirking. Damien sighed. "Logan wasn't the only one in on this…" he mumbled. "I'm assuming we don't leave the kitchen until we kiss?"
All four boys, including Virgil, nodded with smiles on their faces.
Damien and Patton sighed, turning to one another. Patton shrugged. "What's one kiss… Right?" He chuckled nervously.
The other chuckled, doing what he'd wanted to do for years. He grabbed the front of Patton's overalls, pulling him in for what was supposed to be a quick kiss.
However, neither of them wanted to pull away. Patton's arms wrapped around Damien's neck, and Damien's went around Patton's waist.
The boys silently cheered, going back to the play room so they didn't disturb the kiss.
After a few moments, Damien pulled away. He was grinning widely. "That was amazing."
Patton nodded, face completely red as he smiled sheepishly. "Can we… Do it again?"
Patton didn't have to ask twice as Damien pulled him back in for a kiss, smiling into it.
Once they pulled away again, Damien instantly asked, "Go out with me?"
He nodded. "Yes, Damien. I would love to."
They shared one last kiss before Damien yelled, "I'M GONNA GET YOU RUGRATS!" and started running to the play room.
Patton rolled his eyes, laughing happily as he followed. Squeals and giggles were all that was heard as the two dads tickled their kids mercilessly.
And unanimously, it was decided that this was everyone's favorite Christmas by far.
