Remile
Emile had had a long day. He'd gotten up at 5 in the morning for classes, then work. Then he got roped into a study group with his friend Logan for winter finals. Worst of all, Remy, his boyfriend, hadn't showed up for classes. He wasn't answering his phone either, causing Emile to worry greatly.
However now he was finally at the apartment, finally in it of the cold, snowy outdoors. He entered, looking around. Remy's leather jacket was there, so he was too normally. "Remy! I'm home!" Emile called out, taking off his own coat and hanging it up. "Remy?"
When Emile got no answer, he started looking around. He checked the bedroom, the bathroom, kitchen. That was where he found it. The note.
'Hey Emmy. I'm sorry this is how this is happening. I'm just…. I'm so tired, Emmy. Nothing is going right anymore. I can't stay ahead in classes, I'm failing half of them, and I'm in so much debt I will never be able to catch up.
Emile, I love you. So so much, like, I don't think words can describe it. Please… I'm so sorry. Don't follow me. Live your life, be happy.
I love you, and I always will. No matter where I am. Bye, Emmy.'
Emile dropped the note, bolting to his car. He got in. "Remy, please," he whispered to himself. "Where would he go…? Where?"
All Emile could think was that he was too late. He drove quickly, then it hit him. The bridge, the one he found him at the first time. The one Emile and Remy had met at.
He turned the car around, speeding to get there. He almost hit many people, but Emile didn't care. All that mattered right then was Remy.
"Remy!" He yelled, scrambling out of the car. His boyfriend was there, standing on the ledge. "REMY STOP!"
Rent turned around, face red and eyes puffy. "E-Emile please l-leave," he said as the other got closer. "Don't...I don't want you to see this…"
Remy took the step. He started to fall, already screaming. But he stopped. A hand was wrapped around his own tightly, and a voice begging. Remy held the hand back, the code coming clearer.
"DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE ME, REMY BLACK!" Emile yelled, sobbing. The only thing keeping Remy from falling three hundred feet to rushing water was his own strength, which was running out. "DON'T YOU EVER DARE!"
Emile pulled him up, straining himself. He was sobbing hard, and once Remy got onto the bridge he clung to him. Emile cried into Remy's shoulder, punching his chest weakly.
"Why?" He asked, voice strained. "Any would you try and leave?"
Remy wrapped his arms around Emile, tears streaming down his face as well. "E-Emmy," he choked out. "I d-don't...i don't d-deserve you…" he felt himself collapse, pulling Emile down with him.
They sat there, holding one another. Emile pulled away, sniffling and wiping his eyes. "R-Remy…. Don't leave me. Don't you dare, don't you fucking dare. I love you way too much for you to leave, you're the only reason I'm holding on. Don't… Don't leave me."
Remy started at Emile in shock. The other never used strong language, he hated it. Remy pulled him into a kiss, full of apologies, worry, and love. Once he pulled back, Remy rested their foreheads together. "Oh Emmy… I'm so sorry... I-I won't leave...i p-promise…"
~4 Years later~
Emile and Remy were sitting in the living room with their friends, Christmas day. They'd finished college, gotten amazing jobs.
Emile was doing what he always wanted, being a therapist. He was helping people, and every time he brought someone back from the edge, he remembered that night in the bridge.
Remy was a professional bar tender. He owned his own, R&E Drinks and Food. It was successful, enough so that they even bought a house in this economy.
All at the age of 24. Remy never thought he'd get past college, much less this far in life. As he sat there with how boyfriend, he smiled. He had everything he could ever want… Except one thing.
"I have an announcement," Remy said as he stood up. All his friends glanced to him, watching. "Emile Picani. Come here, babe."
Emile frowned but got up, walking over. "Rem...what are you doing?" He asked nervously, smiling slightly.
"Nothing bad," he chuckled. Remy took Emile's hands in his own. "Emile Picani. You have made me so happy for the past seven years. You have been there to encourage me when I do things right, and smack me upside the head when i act dumb.
"You've been there for so much for me. When I tried killing myself... you're the one that stopped me. You've always been the one person I've held on for."
Emile felt his eyes water, but he was still confused as to what Remy was doing. Until he got on one knee. Emile's hand flew to his mouth.
"Emile Picani, will you do me the honor of saying you'll marry me?"
"Yes!" He squealed out. "Oh god, Remy, yes!" Emile was crying happily, jumping up and down.
Remy stood, grinning. He put the ring on Emile's finger right before the other pulled him into a deep kiss.
Their friends cheered, and Remy couldn't be happier.
Now. Now he had everything he needed in life.
