I don't (part one)

It was finally the day.

Roman and Virgil had been planning for months, and it was finally here.

Their wedding.

Roman was a Disney prince, and wanted something extravagant, while Virgil just wanted to marry him.

They chose a venue with a palace-like theme, lots of flowers, and black candles.

It had a Victorian feel, with brick walls and a few paintings, fairy-type lights that were like strings of Christmas lights in jars hanging from the ceiling, and overall dark lighting. There were draping chandeliers, dangling stars, and small table terrariums.

Roman's POV

Roman was ready for tonight. Kinda. They had the ceremony planned, and he had an outfit picked out. His vows were memorized, his appearance planned, and he was ready.

But he was still nervous.

What if Virgil doesn't want to marry me?

What if something goes wrong?

What if I forget my speech?

What if something breaks?

What if it starts raining?

What if Virgil doesn't want to marry me?

Relax Roman, it'll be ok. It's just another day.

Just the most important day of your life!

Virgil deserves someone better than me. I shouldn't marry him if I'm going to hurt him.

He deserves someone who stays at the altar, and I can at least do that.

That brought Roman back to the whole reason he was here. Virgil, the love of his life.

The man he was going to marry.

The best thing that ever happened to him.

The man he loved more than life.

Roman sighed. He was glad he wasn't a girl.

No makeup teams, heavy dresses, or expensive and fragile jewelry.

Just a suit, shoes, and a single earring.

Virgil wouldn't let him see the outfit he planned, but they chose earrings together.

The earrings were matching dragons that clasped on the side of their ears. They were adorable, and Virgil was really anxious about rings, so they chose them instead. (Because rings can fall down drains, get stuck, not fit, rust, and hundreds of other things.)

Roman smiled to himself. God, he loved Virgil.

He stood up and went over to his suit. It was a maroon shirt, black jacket, and white tie. He had black pants, and a tiny crown to go with it.

It was easily his favorite suit, and not something expensive, either.

Roman's dad was with him to help.

"Alright, let's get you in this thing."

Roman got in the suit, and had to admit that he looked royally good.

"So, the wedding is in about an hour, so I'll set your poor friend loose on you."

He opened the door, and Patton came rushing in.

"OMIGOD ROMAN YOU LOOK SO HANDSOME VIRGIL'S GONNA LOVE IT IS THAT A WHITE TIE I LOVE IT THIS IS GONNA BE SO AWESOME HI MR. ROMAN'S DAD DOESN'T HE LOOK GREAT I'M GONNA CRY!"

Patton hugged Roman tightly, already crying.

"Oh Pat, It's the day I've dreamed of for years! I'm getting married!" The reality set in, and Roman began to cry as well.

He wasn't going to be single or lonely anymore. He'd have Virgil, forever. He could hardly wait the extra hour.

But wait, he did.

When it was almost time, he was nervous as all hell.

"Do I look ok?"

"Yes."

"Is my shirt wrinkled?"

"Yes."

"Did we check everything?"

"YES."

"Do we need to prolong for a bit or something?"

"No. Look Roman, we know you're stressed, but a wedding isn't supposed to be about all the little things. It's about being with the person you love. And you will be."

"Thank you."

They headed downstairs.

Roman's dad had him at the elbow, while Patton skipped ahead as the flower boy.

"Is Virgil ok? Is he too stressed? Should we call it off?"

"Roman. It's ok. Breathe. It'll be ok. Just... have a good time. You love him, he loves you. Nothing's going to go wrong."

They reached the entrance. Aka, a flower curtain that Roman would step through and see Virgil for the first time that day. God, he already missed him.

He took a deep breath, and let out a sigh, allowing all the fear, the worries, the expectations, to flood away.

This was Virgil.

He stepped through and proceeded to die.

Virgil was standing at the altar, and WOW.

He had a black suit with his classic purple sewn-on patches, purple shirt, patched tie, and the jack he was wearing... It was black, but extended down to around the knees, cinching a bit at the waist, and looking like a freaking cute skirt. The jacket had a hood, with purple laces down the sides. It went further in the back and had small silver rose patterns on it. He had a small purple pocket in the front, which had a floral arrangement with white lilies and a bloodred rose.

He was beaming at Roman, and Roman almost immediately started crying. He'd never been happier.

Roman's dad walked him up the aisle, where he promptly ignored everyone who had come there to support them and only stared at Virgil.

Logan was the 'marriage guy' as people put it these days.
*cough cough*

He stood behind Virgil and he was basically the pastor, just not religion. not religion. that makes sense.

Roman walked up to Virgil, and gently took one of his hands. Virgil grinned goofily and lightly blushed.

Patton was also the only best man. (I just thought that was an important detail. It's almost bedtime, don't judge.)

Logan grinned at his friends.

"I thought the whole marriage speech may be a little... overdramatic, so I have shortened it, as requested." He paused, letting the moment sink in.

"Virgil, do you wish to marry Roman; love him as long as you live, or even longer, take care of him, support him, and most of all, don't get Remus mad?"

"Uh... yes? I do? What's the proper response to that? Um... I... yes. I do."

"Roman, do you wish to marry Virgil; love him forever, take care of him, support him, or face my wrath?"

"I do."

"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you two married. You guys can osculate, I mean kiss."

Roman didn't need permission. He swept Virgil up in his arms, and gently kissed him.

Virgil broke away laughing. "We still need to exchange rings and stuff!"

"Are you denying me kissing my husband? Do you dare?"

"No," Virgil said, kissing him back.

Roman smiled, and Patton came up with the rings.

They put them on each other's ears. Virgil's was a silver dragon climbing up his ear, while Roman's was golden.

"Do you have anything to say?" Logan asked Roman.

He cleared his throat and looked out at all the wonderful faces that had come to support them.

"When I first met you, I had no idea how much you'd end up meaning to me. As I recall, my main thought was "Wow, that guy's cute." people laughed. Roman didn't care, because he saw Virgil smirk a bit, and that was his whole world.

"I remember our first date. I'm not sure when I fell in love with you, but I know that I realized it when you looked me in the eyes, and said, and I quote, "You look like a squashed cockroach."

More laughter. It didn't matter, because Virgil chuckled, and Roman felt like everything was better. Everything was ok, because Virgil.

"I just wanted to say that I love you. I love your personality, the way you laugh at romance movies, and dress up on Halloween, and are willing to deal with me, and well, your ass isn't bad either."

"I love you so much, and it means more than anything in the entire world that you are here. I love you more than should be legal, so arrest me, because I'd die for you."

Roman was crying, and Virgil was too. No one had to say anything to know that Patton was as well.

"Virgil, do you have anything you'd like to say?"

Virgil had tears running down his face.

"Roman, you are the light of my life. Before I met you, I was an anxious mess. I still am, but a year ago, I would've run form this wedding. Or had a panic attack. But when I got anxious, I thought about you. And it just melted away. I love you more than I'll ever love anyone, and I just wanted you to know, that to this day," He smirked. "You still look like a squashed cockroach."

*indignant Prince noises*

"But you're my squashed cockroach."

Virgil pulled Roman to him by the tie, and kissed him.

It was perfect.

When Virgil threw his bouquet, a handful of highlighters held by a rubber band (parks and rec, anyone?), Patton was the only bridesmaid and was surprised to see a note attached, with a silver ring taped to it, and the words "Will you marry me? -Logan" on it. He squealed and tackled Logan.

As for the title, it goes for "I don't care about your opinion, cats are the best."
