Onions (Prinxiety)
This chapter is really just me showing how much I frickin love some comforting Roman.
Quick! Don't think of Virgil wearing Roman's shirt and Roman wearing Virgil's hoodie!
An alternate title is "Cry Juice"
I have been awake for over 40 hours and I don't know what I'm doing with my life right now. I feel like if someone were to tell me a really bad dad joke I would laugh for hours tbh. (But I do that normally so... now you know my weakness?)
Also I'm not really in my most creative state rn sooooo don't be mad if this isn't that good? Ideka

Virgil walked into his house with a sigh. He had a rough day at work and to top that, his depression and anxiety was really getting to him. He felt like he would break at any moment. He walked into the kitchen and made a cup of coffee. He didn't even hear Roman come up behind him and go into the fridge.
"Hey, Stormcloud! How was your day?" Roman asked.
"Eh, it was alright." He said and poured the coffee from the pot. He didn't look at Roman.
"Do you want to help me with dinner?"
Virgil thought over his options. Either make dinner with the man he loved and try not to break down, or go into their room and actually break down and worry Roman. He decided on the first option.
"Sure. What do you want me to do, Princey?" Virgil said and turned to Roman. He saw Roman looking at him and couldn't help but smile fondly at him.
Roman was a little worried but he didn't say anything. Yet.
"Do you want to man the stove or cut up some onions, carrots, lettuce, and potatoes?" Roman asked, getting out the aforementioned ingredients.
"I'll cut the things I guess..." he grabbed the ingredients and grabbed a large knife. He started with the carrots, those being the easiest and fastest to cut, then the lettuce, then moved to the potatoes and finally the onions.
Virgil never cried when he was cutting onions. He always told young children it was his superpower. So that made this moment very concerning.
Virgil was biting back tears and he knew why but he would never admit that to anyone. He heard Roman frying burgers and making salad from the carrots and lettuce along with some other ingredients. Virgil felt a tear roll down his cheeks.
"You good, Angel-Eyes?" Roman asked with a concerned look.
"Yeah just... the cry juice of the onions." He said and choked back a sob. Roman quickly turned off the stove and went over to Virgil. He turned him around to face him. Virgil rubbed his eyes and pretended it was just the onions.
"Are you sure because you never cry from onions and you look like you've had a rough day." Roman said and Virgil broke down, sobbing into Roman's chest and Roman just held him close, shushing calmingly into his ear. He ran his hand through Virgil's hair and picked him up. He carried him, bridal style, to their couch in the living room. He sat them down and let Virgil sit on his lap.
Eventually Virgil calmed down enough to just sit there and sniffle.
"Are you alright now, baby?" Roman asked softly.
Virgil just nodded slowly.
"Would you mind telling me what's wrong? Or is that too much?" Roman asked, fully ready to just forget dinner and take him to bed.
"No it's fine... I just- I know that I shouldn't feel this way, but I feel like I'm not good enough for you. I just feel useless and I honestly don't want to get out of bed in the morning usually. I guess it's just one of those days." He said as if it didn't bother him, but his eyes conveyed a completely different story. His eyes told Roman that he was still sad and he was disappointed and angry with himself for feeling this way. Roman could read Virgil with just a look into his eyes.
"You are so important to me. I love you so much and you are completely good enough for me. I would even argue that your better than me and that I don't deserve you! You are not useless and you are my perfect, sweet, husband. You're my dark chocolate chip muffin. Sometimes a little bitter at first but super sweet after you open up to people. I love you so so much." Roman started sweetly kissing his neck. Nothing sexual just sweet kisses that moved up his jaw and Roman then connected their lips.
Virgil was now just crying, but also kissing Roman. But he did feel better. And that was always something Roman was able to do magically.

I'll give you a little sneak peak into the book next chapter (if I remember) and I will be posting it soon hopefully. Probably in early May.
