Everyone is given an emotional interpretation animal, they can feel your emotions and will show them off. They follow you wherever you go and have to be around you or else they will provide chaos. They will comfort you though everything and they will be your best friend.

Virgil was given a cat.

Roman was given a dog.

I know. Basic.

Virgil's cat, Storm, has helped him through his depression and anxiety.

Roman and Virgil went to the same high school and they "hated each other". But now they were in college and they were roommates. They had never let their animals meet the other or get near the other.

That would all change soon.

Virgil walked into the dorm and set his stuff down on the empty bunk. Great, bunk beds. Virgil took the bottom bunk. He was scared for when Roman walked in and would have to see him.

Roman walked in about an hour later. He had two bags with him. Virgil only had a backpack and a duffle bag.

Roman looked at Virgil and sighed. He knew that he had to keep up the act of hating him. Even though he was madly in love with him.

Virgil was having the same problem.

"Princey."

"Charlie Frown."

"So original."

"Shut up."

Roman went to the top bunk and put his stuff down. He took out his dog and placed him on the ground.

"This is Bear."

Bear was a large brown dog with curly hair. He was a mix of a Saint Bernard and a German Shepard.

"This is Storm."

Storm jumped down and rubbed against Romans leg.

"STORM! Oh my goodness I'm so sorry, she usually doesn't do that." Virgil said, blushing as he tried to grab Storm from Romans legs. But storm kept avoiding him. Roman picked her up and she cuddled close to Romans chest.

"Looks like someone is friendly." Roman said, cooing at the cat.

Bear cave up and put his paws on Virgil's shoulders and pushed him onto the bed. He licked Virgil's face.

Virgil laughed and petted Bear.

Roman blushes as he heard Virgil's laugh. That's something he wants to hear more.

Storm crawled to Romans shoulders and licked his cheek.

Wait, Roman thought, does this mean he likes me.

"Emotional Interpretation animals are weird huh?" Roman said laughing as Storm climbed into his head.

"Hahaha yeah!" Then Virgil realized that this meant Roman probably liked him back.

"Wait, these are emotional interpreter animals, does this mean..." Virgil cut himself off.

Roman looked at Virgil who was looking down at Bear.

"You know what, never mind, I'll take Storm back now." Virgil took Storm and Storm whined.

"We can't having knowing that right now, now can we?" Virgil whispered to Storm.

1 semester later

Dear Virgil,

This semester has been fun hasn't it? You've gotten closer to Roman and it's been pretty great huh? I mean you can thank Storm for that one. Maybe we could have been high school sweethearts if storm had done that before. His voice is so sweet and of course there is still the playful banter and obviously the arguing.

But I think... maybe... I like him, like romantically. But I wouldn't tell him that. He just is so nice and has even helped me though 2 panic attacks. But his laugh is so great. I've even started to tell jokes to hear it more. We're both going to school to be artists. He wants to be a digital artist and I want to be an animator. But I mean obviously you know that, since you are me.

Anyways, Roman is great and who knows, I may ask him out at some point.

Virgil finished writing the letter and put it in an envelope. He addressed it to himself and put it on his bed. He will put it with his other letters later.

Patton: I'm having a hard time with this assignment, and Logie can't help me right now, so can you come to my dorm and help me? You are the best at perspective art!

Virgil: yeah I can come over, Roman won't be back for another hour ish.

Patton: oooo you need to tell me how that is going as well

Virgil: 😳😳😳

Virgil walked over to Patton's dorm and stayed there for a good while, just talking mostly.

Roman walked to the dorm about an hour later. He was walking Bear and doing his homework as well, the life of a college student.

He saw the letter on Virgil's bed and something was telling him to open it. It took some self convincing, but he eventually decided to open it. He read it and was shocked. Virgil actually liked him back? That's...

FANTASTIC!

Roman wrote a letter back, freshened up and left the dorm.

When Virgil walked into the dorm he thought Roman would be back. He looked around and saw another letter on his bed it was addressed

Virgil <3

He was in shock, the only other one who would have come into the dorm was Roman. Oh god.

He opened the letter:

Dear Virgil <3

I read your letter to yourself. And I just want to say that if what was in there is true, you should come to the pavilion outside building D. You don't want to miss what I have in store.

Don't be late. 7:00 tonight

If you don't come, I'll take that as my answer.
