TW: Logan sad hours, heartbreak, nearly crying, anger
~~~~~
Logan had felt his heart shatter as he had been practically dragged out of the conversation.
He had felt it shatter again when he saw Patton and Janus getting close.
I guess the world treated Patton way too fairly and Logan was just a dream to him. That wasn't true. Logan wasn't a dream. Logan was there waiting for him.
All he wanted was Patton.
Logan had paced the common room. He had paced for hours. He knew Patton and Janus were getting close. He knew they were very touchy together. But for some reason he still held his hope. That didn't mean Patton and Janus were dating, right?
That hope, however, was shattered only a few days later. He walked into the kitchen, completely silent. Patton and Janus were sitting on the couch, Patton's legs over Janus' as he leaned into him. Oh, how Logan envied Janus in that moment.
"Jan, come on! You know it's not that bad!" Patton said through giggles and Logan couldn't help but give a very small smile at that sound.
"What? How they just left the cow in the field? Patton, you monster!" Janus said sarcastically, a fond tone in his voice that made Patton erupt in giggles. Logan looked up and saw Patton holding close to Janus. He felt his stomach twist in jealously until he saw Patton lean up and press a sweet kiss to Janus' lips.
Logan felt everything in him stiffen to the point where he couldn't move. His heart shattered like it had after being pulled out of the conversation, but twenty times worse. Logan felt tears prick his eyes as he watched them part and Janus start to kiss all over Patton's face. His hands shook as he put down the coffee pot he had in his hands. It hit the counter with a small thud. Patton looked over and saw Logan and his face contorted in realization as Logan's eyes were full of tears. Logan's face changed to be completely blank.
Patton hopped up from the couch and went to go towards the kitchen "Logan wai-"
"Have a nice relationship, Patton." Logan said, his voice monotone as he moved to walk past Patton but Patton grabbed his hand.
"Logan, hold on a minute." Patton said, a look of desperation in his eyes that made Logan pause as he looked into those baby blue eyes he had studied so hard. He wondered what made him fall so deep into them. Was it the way he would light up when he was talking about something he was interested in?
Logan used to be something that made his eyes light up.
"I can explain." Patton said and Logan looked to him for an explanation even though he didn't feel like he deserved one. It was Patton's relationship, not his. "You always made it seem like you wanted more from me than I could give you."
"All I wanted was you." Logan said immediately, looking to him as his eyes shifted to a look of utter angry shock. "All I ever wanted was you."
Patton blinked a few times and opened his mouth to say something but Logan took his hand out of Patton's.
"All I wanted was you." Logan said again before brushing past him and going to his room, nearly slamming the door shut once he did.
After about an hour, a knock on the door echoed through the dark, cold, and silent room.
"Hey, Lo-Lo?" A usually chaotic and gremlin-like voice came as a calm and soothing one. "You in here?"
Logan stood up from his bed with a sigh, going to the door and opening it and feeling a wave of heat from the hallway seep into his room. "Yes. I'm in here. This is my room after all."
Remus' eyebrows furrowed in concern. "What happened?"
"Janus. Janus happened." Logan answered simply. "Come in." He said, stepping to the side to let Remus come inside.
Logan and Remus made the most unlikely of friends. They became friends because Remus didn't stop annoying Logan but Logan actually liked the attention. That might sound selfish, but seeing as no one really listened to logic in his usual group, getting listened to was a wonderful feeling. They became fast friends and now they always talked to each other.
"Patton's been worried." Remus said, but it obviously wasn't meant to say that Patton was more important in that moment.
"Of course he has." Logan scoffed. It wasn't Patton's fault. Logan knew that. But he was still heartbroken and angry. "Did he send you here?" He asked as he laid back against the bed.
Remus moved to lay down next to him. "No. He did think about sending Roman here to check on you."
"Ha." Logan said, almost as a chuckle, his whole chest moving as he made the noise. His head turned to the side slightly. "Send the romantic side to deal with a problem about heartbreak."
"Janus broke your heart? I thought you hated him."
"I do." Logan took a deep breath. "Patton broke my heart."
"..."
"He broke my heart." Logan said and he let out a small sob before his face turned angry to hide his sadness.
"You don't have to be angry." Remus said, reaching over to take Logan's hand.
"I know." Logan said, his voice cracking as he squeezed Remus' hand
"Do you?"
Logan paused and his eyebrows furrowed. "No. I guess not."
"That's okay. You don't have to know." Remus said.
Logan sighed. "I don't want to leave my room for a while."
"And that's alright. Do you want me to stay with you?" Remus asked
Logan went to lean his head on Remus' chest. "I want you to stay." He whispered
"Then I'll stay until you ask me to leave."
