Thomas watched from the sofa, taking a break from filming a Sanders Sides episode.
He watched his sides all talk and converse with each other. Virgil, Deceit and Remus were talking and laughing about something Remus did, while Roman playfully annoyed his brother.
Patton ruffled Remus' hair, smiling and Remus hugged the dad like figure.
Logan sighed, standing next to Deceit and talked to him about who knows what, but Thomas could see the enjoyment in his eyes.
The host frowned slightly and snuck away, summoning Remy so he could have a small nap.
"Sure thing bitch! Oh, let me get some tea first." Remy smiled and walked out.
"Oh hey Remy!" Patton smiled.
Remy grinned, "hey Pat!"
Sleep took a detour from the kitchen and went to the group and joined in the conversation and even laughed at something Virgil said, as Remy wasn't usually a fan of Anxiety.
Thomas frowned more, a sinking feeling in his gut. This happened every time they stopped filming or took a break. He also noticed it with Emile.
When they stopped filming for an upcoming Cartoon Therapy, Patton and Logan appeared and the three began to talk and Logan would nerd out happily with him.
The host shrugged it off, happy that his sides were all getting along but as it continued he noticed when filming and he got in the way of things, they seemed less happy, a bit more miserable.
He lay in bed that night, listening to his sides and egos talk excitedly with one and other downstairs, watching a cartoon.
Was he a bad host?
Virgil shuffled, "uh guys? I think Thomas is having doubts..."
"About what?"
"If he's a good host."
Logan frowned, "why on earth would he think that?"
"Because we seem happier when he's not around..."
Remus laughed, but soon stopped noticing how serious Virgil was, "oh..."
"Well that's true... He's the worst host ever." Deceit said, frowning.
Patton thought, "we'll help him tomorrow. Right now he needs sleep."
Thomas went downstairs and was greeted by all his sides and egos happily, they were talking to him but Thomas shrugged them off and went out, making them frown.
No matter how many times they tried to talk to him and to help him, he ignored them and shrugged them off, at times even forcing them back into his mind.
He caught himself doing that one time with Patton, making him realise he was a bad host.
Thomas sat at his desk and looked at a blank sheet of paper one night, his sides and egos down stairs.
He began to write a note, explaining what he was about to do, but scrunched it up and again started to write saying how much he loved them, but again scrunched it up.
He sighed, "fuck it."
He scribbled something down and got up.
Virgil noticed Thomas hasn't come down in a while and he felt numb. Very numb. He glanced to Patton who was smiling, but also had this far off distant look.
"I'll be back." Virgil said, getting up and going upstairs to Thomas' room. He knocked on the door, "Thomas? Can I come in?"
There was no response, "Thomas?" Still nothing, "ok I'm coming in..." Virgil opened the door and froze.
He gagged and puked into the nearest trash can and looked up, "GUYS!"
The sides and egos, one by one, all showed up, having the same or similar reactions to Virgil, shock, horror, queasiness, all devastated.
Even Remus, who found this stuff hilarious, was devastated.
Patton looked over to Thomas desk, slowly walking over and picking up the notepad, his tears dampening the paper, three words written on it:
'I'm sorry guys.'
Remus looked down to his hand, "g-guys...?"
They looked to him and gasped, noticing his hand slowly disappear.
"W-what's happening?"
Logan snapped out of his shock, "y-you're fading..."
"What?!" The brothers yelled, as they noticed Roman was disappearing too.
"Thomas is..." he swallowed, "we have no reason to exist..." Logan explained, noting how Remy fell down and Emile leaned on the wall, their feet and legs disappearing.
Patton looked to his arms and whimpered, his arms disappearing and Deceit wiggles his fingers and they vanished.
Virgil's lower body was now gone and Logan's left arm disappeared.
Patton broke down crying as Remus was the first to go, quickly followed by Roman, the two holding each other the whole time.
"I'm sorry Roman."
"And I'm sorry too Remus."
Emile was the next to go, nodding his thanks to Patton and Logan, "thanks for teaching me guys..."
"Glad we could be friends Virge." Remy said, before disappearing.
Virgil looked to Patton, "I'll miss you da-" his voice cut short as he vanished.
Logan looked to Patton, tears running down his face, "love you dad." He disappeared too.
Patton was a crying mess, looking to Thomas, "I'll see you soon kiddos..."
The last thing he saw was Thomas' body, a rope around his neck and the chair knocked on the floor under him.
