Virgil Sawyer had no idea how he managed to befriend the Lights.

At the beginning of his new journey through high school, he was a nobody, friends with one boy named Dee Dunnstock.

Dee was a boy, bullied for his birthmark and the fact he wore large, yellow jumpers with snakes on them and a black bowler hat and Virgil was just an emo boy. Even Remus didn't talk to them, he had his own friends.

The Lights were Roman Chandler, easily seen by his red blazer, gold straps and shorts, Patton McNamara with his pale blue blazer and yellow skirt, that changed from gray and yellow day to day, and then Logan Duke.

Virgil smiled at the thought of Logan Duke, while many went for Roman due to him being good at sex and supposedly hot, or Patton for his cute personality and clothing.

Virgil found himself attracted to the closed off Logan Duke, who was seen in black pants, a blue tie and a blue and white striped blazer. He was emotionless for the most part and showed no interest in friendship, besides Patton and Roman and constantly seen with a book.

The three males were extremely popular, Remus Chandler - Romans brother, being the second popular, purely because he was seen flirting with Patton McNamara and was in a long, black jacket and a green button up.

He had bumped into them one day in the bathroom Roman had been fixing his hair, Patton patting Logan's back and Logan was throwing up in the bathroom, the three cornered by a teacher and he had bailed them out with a forged note.

Roman, who was cocky as anything, was interested in the male, asking for his name.

"Virgil... Sawyer... I crave a boon."

"What boon?" Roman asked in disgust, looking the male up and down, Virgil at the time wore all black and that was that, messy hair and a light shade of gray eyeshadow under his eyes.

"Let me sit at your table, just once, no talking necessary. If people think you tolerate me they'll leave me alone." Virgil has begged.

At first Roman and Patton had laughed and Logan's face lit up ever so slightly.

The cute boy who read all the same books as him, wanted to sit with them? Logan wiped his mouth and knew he couldn't say yes without the others opinion.

"Roman, Patton if I may..." Logan stated, pulling the two away, "think about it, he could forge notes for us when needed. He's useful. Not to mention you know I like him. Please Roman-"

Roman rolled his eyes, "I'm not a bad guy, you could have just yes and be done with it Lo."

Patton looked over, "sure you can sit with us-"

"But you need a whole make over."

That's how he found himself dawning new clothing, of a black blazer like them, with patches of different shades of purple and black pants, his hair now dyed a purple and his eyeshadow now black.

Logan saw Virgil walking down the hallway on the first day of his new life and began talking to him casually about all sorts and the two got along really well.

And Virgil got a lot of stares.

Logan and Virgil sat down for lunch and as he awkwardly looked down, blushing as Roman fixed his hair for the tenth time that day and Patton smiled and waved at Remus who swaggered past him.

"You not eating anything Logan?" Patton asked.

Roman rolled his eyes, "it'll end up with him throwing it up again."

Logan flushed in embarrassment.

"Throwing up?" Virgil asked.

Roman smirked, "Logan's bulimic, so '87."

Roman and Patton laughed, as Logan looked down in anger and embarrassment and Virgil awkwardly smiled.

"At least includes not like Joan over there. He's just so-"

"Shut up Logan!"

"Sorry Roman." He looked down.

Virgil frowned, as the boy in blue excused himself and left.

Patton and Roman laughed more, looking at Virgil expectedly, who began laughing with them with an air of uncomfortableness that nobody picked up on.

"I'm gonna go check on Logan." Virgil said getting up but realised he sounded too friendly and not at all like he was mocking the cute male, "to help him vomit like an... loser." He went off, after hearing the two laugh.

"Logan?" He asked, finding the male in the bathroom.

Logan looked from the mirror he was glaring in and had a neutral face, "Virgil. Good to see you."

"You're bulimic?" There was no point beating around the bush, he might as well say it.

"Yes... I know, not something most people would think I have, they'd think it was Roman or Patton, but I guess it's because nobody seems to hold any form of attraction to me." Logan sighed, his shoulders slouching slightly as he loosened his tie, opening the stall and kneeling, ready to through food up, something he's had non of.

Virgil saw and pulled him up, "Logan, it's not healthy. You could die." He fixed the males tie, careful not to choke him.

Logan blushes at the close proximity of each other and Virgil glanced down, biting his lips, "we should... get back..."

"Yeah..."

A week of this went by, and Virgil had to ignore Dee in order to be their friend, something which killed Virgil and he missed his friend, but on the plus side, he and Logan got closer.

Which by the way, the two were certain the killer of the Black Dahlia was George Hodel and neither Roman and Patton could change there minds - not that they was protecting the man just that there could have been another suspect.

Logan and Virgil sat at their table for lunch, with Logan having a sandwich, thanks to Virgil, Logan was slowly getting better and when he says slowly he meant slowly. It thanks to Virgil he was even eating after first talking to the boy.

Roman laughed and sat down, with a pen and paper, handing it to Virgil.

"What's this for?"

Patton spoke up, "copy this." He slipped a note over.

Virgil saw Dee's name on it and frowned, "what?"

"Copy it, Virgil." Roman snarled.

Virgil hesitated, writing a letter to his friend. The contents of the letter was there was a party, thrown by Remus - which there is - and Dee was invited personally by him - which was false, everyone was invited.

"Now go slip that into Dee's locker."

Virgil looked up horrified, "what?! Are you crazy! Why would I do that!"

Logan sighed, he hated when they did this but he couldn't deny it was quiet funny, "come on Virge. It would give him masturbation fuel for wee-"

"Shut up, Logan!"

"Sorry Roman..."

Virgil looked to Roman, "Dee's had a crush of Remus for twelve years now, this would kill him-"

"Are we gonna have a problem?" Roman snarled, slamming his hand on the table, "you got a bone to pick?" He asked as Patton got up behind Roman, crossing his arms.

"You've come so far," Roman said, gesturing to Virgil's change of clothing, "why now are you pulling on my dick?"

Patton dragged Logan up and behind Roman.

"I'd normally slap your face off, and everyone here could watch." Roman glared, gritting his teeth, "but I'm feeling nice." He said with a sarcastic smile.

"Here's some advice," Roman flicked Virgil's forehead, "listen up, biotch!"

The three put one arm behind their head and the other up, and swayed their hips, shot them down and took one step forward and began to walk closer as a couple of guys cheered and Virgil got up thoroughly annoyed.

"I like!" Logan and Patton sang.

"Lookin' hot," Roman sang, sticking out his chest, "buying stuff they cannot."

"I like!"

"Drinkin' hard, maxing Mom's credit card!" Roman sang, bringing out a flask.

"I like!"

"Skippin' gym, scaring him," Roman sang, pointing to a male who constantly around a boy Roman wanted and pointed to the male he actually wanted, "screwing Tom."

"I like!"

"Killer clothes-" Roman sang.

The three males swaggered up to Valarie, a lovely girl in drama and kicked their left legs making her duck as the three sang, "kickin' nerds in the nose!"

"If you lack the balls, you can go play dolls," Roman sang as the three walked back, "let your daddy fix you a snack."

"Woah!" The three threw their hands up surrounding Virgil, but Virgil's eyes kept trailing to Logan.

"Or you could come smoke, pound some rum and coke, in my Porsche with the quarterback." Roman sang, caressing Remy's face.

"Woah! Woah! Woah!" The three sang, stepping onto the chairs then the table.

"Honey, whatchu waitin' for?" The three sang, making small hand gestures for Virgil to come over.

"Welcome to my candy store," the three brought their hands closer.

"Time for you to prove you're not a loser anymore!" The three sang, making an L with their fingers, "then step into my candy store!"

"Guys fall!" Roman and Patton sang.

"At your feet," Logan sang, pointing downward, and Virgil wouldn't lie he was for Logan and Logan stared at him and subtly pointed to himself, "pay the check."

"Help you cheat!" Sang Patton.

"All you-" They sang.

"Have to do." Logan sang staring at Virgil, he wouldn't lie he was jealous of Dee for their long friendship.

"Say goodbye to scar face." Roman smirked, pointing to Dee who had just walked in and Virgil glanced at the paper in his hand.

"That freak's." The three sang, twirling their hands next to their head.

"Not your friend, I can tell in the end." Patton sang, smirking slightly.

"If he." They sang.

"Had your shot." Logan sang, pointing to himself ever so slightly.

"He would leave you to rot!" They dragged a hand around their faces and leaned to the right slightly.

Was that true? I mean, Dee didn't have many friend but always got on with that Spanish kid called Naranja Lado. Like all the time. Maybe he was getting bored of Virgil.

"'Course if you don't care, fine! Go suck his dick," Patton sang, "maybe Crystal Gems is on!"

"Woah!"

"Or forget that creep!" Patton sang.

"And get in my jeep!" Logan sang.

"Let's go tear up someone's lawn." Roman sang, as Logan grabbed the note from Virgil's hand.

"Woah! Woah! Woah!" The three climbed down from the table as Logan slipped the note into Dee's pocket.

"Honey, whatchu waitin' for? Welcome to my candy store!" They sang, "you just gotta prove you're not a pussy anymore," they slapped their thighs.

"Then step into my candy store."

"You can join the team." Roman sang.

"Or you can bitch and moan." The others sang.

"You can live the dream."

"Or you can die alone."

"You can fly with eagles." Roman sang.

"Or if you prefer."

"Keep on testing me-" Roman growled.

"And end up like him!" The three sang, pointing to Dee who had just ran up to Virgil and the three swayed their hips, impatiently.

"Virgil, look! Remus invited me to his homecoming party! This proves he's been thinking about me!" Dee spoke, smiling.

And what could Virgil do? Watching as the smile fell and see the betrayal on his friends face?

"Color me stoked!" Virgil smiled, a fake painful smile.

"I'm so happy!" Dee smiled and ran off happily.

"Woah!" The three males sang, Logan getting louder. Now that Dee was out of the picture, he could get Virgil and was going to impress him.

"Virgie, whatchu waiting fo-" Logan took front a centre, before Roman pushed him down roughly.

"Shut up, Logan!" He yelled and continued, "step into my candy store!"

Virgil frowned and watched Logan as he flushed red and scrambled to get up.

"Time for you to prove you're not a lame ass anymore!" Logan and Patton sang, with Virgil's eyes trained on Logan.

"Oooh woah! Woah oh oh!"

"Then step into my candy store!" The three sang together and began to stalk up to Virgil.

"It's my candy store, it's my candy. It's my candy store, it's my candy!" They sang circling the boy.

"It's my candy store, it's my candy store!" They sang and flipped their short hair and leaned backwards.

Virgil stared unsure of what to say to all of that, "well... you could have just said so instead of a whole musical number."

Romans smirk fell and blinked, Patton's eyes widened and covered his mouth and Logan burst out laughing.

Virgil smiled, his eyes trained on Logan, "you have a lovely voice." Virgil smiled, gently talking Logan out the room.

Logan flushed a bright red, "o-oh you think so?"

"I do it's lovely."

Logan didn't even glass back as he walked away from a furious Roman and a now giggling Patton, as he slowly linked hands with the handsome male in front of him.

"Virgil... I... I must ask you... would you, possibly I mean... go... uh..." Logan stumbles over his words, his hands became clammy, to the point he took them out of Virgil's hands in embarrassment.

"Let me start over." Logan coughed, trying to get rid of his embarrassment, "Virgil-"

His eyes widened.

Virgil was in front of him, his eyes closed and lips on his. It wasn't even a long one, just a second.

"This Saturday, at six. Don't be too late Logan-Berry." Virgil smiled and walked off, swaying his hips and Logan grinned.

For once in his life as a Light, he felt happy. Genuinely happy.
