Roman bounced on his heels outside the restaurant. From behind a nearby tree, Logan let out a sigh. "Roman, calm down. You're going to murder those shoes."

"Sorry!! I'm just super excited!!"

"And caffeinated," Remus added, "He drank, like, five cups of coffee before we left."

"It's not my fault I was too busy writing to sleep!!"

"No, that actually is your fault, Roman. Sleep is very essential to the human body so that it can-"

"Oh my goooooddddd! I'm going on a date with VIRGIL! Shshshshshsh!"

Logan rolled his eyes and looked at his phone. "They should be here in about three minutes, according to Patton."

"Good. Welp, you guys have fun," Remus said, standing. "Imma go hang out with Emile. Baiiii."

"BAIIIIIII-"

Remy's car pulled up in front and the passenger door opened. Virgil pushed his hair out of his face and straightened his tux. Roman's eyes widened as he stopped.

"Oh. Hey, Ro."

A few hours later, Roman and Virgil were walking down the street as Remy and Dee sat on a park bench.

The latter laughed. They leaned against each other as Dee continued telling his story. When he was done, neither could talk from cackling too hard, but Remy wrapped an arm around him.

"Oh my gohosh- I can't believe he dihid that-"

"I know right??"

After the two were done laughing, Remy sipped his coffee calmly. "Oh. Woah. Look at that duck."

"Aaaaawwww."

"I know- it's so colorful and-"

"No. I was talking about you. But the duck is pretty cool, too."

Remy froze and blushed softly, causing the other to chuckle and lean into him. "You're great."

"You're better."

Roman plopped down on the couch, sighing quietly. Virgil was in the kitchen, making some hot chocolate. A minute later, he sat next to him, placing it on the table.

"I had a lot of fun today," Virgil said.

"Me, too. I'm so glad you said yes."

"I'm so glad you asked." They looked at each other and smiled, the room once again falling into a comfortable silence.

Roman cautiously reached out and held Virgil's free hand, using his other to hold his mug. The emo blushed, glanced over at him, then smiled, intertwining their fingers and leaning against him.

"Thanks," Roman finally said after a few more minutes.

"What for?"

"Everything."

Virgil smiled more and hummed quietly. "Of course. Thank you."

"Anytime."

They leaned back and laid there some more. "... Can I kiss you?" Roman mumbled quietly, causing Virgil to open his eyes.

"What did you say? I couldn't hear you."

"N-nothing. Don't worry about it."

"No. You said something. What was it?"

"Mmmm..." Roman looked up at him. "Can I kiss you?"
