Logan is slightly different to all of us, I'm not sure why. We all eat the same food, drink the same drinks (aside from Roman, who drinks wine from time to time), sleep a similar amount (even if Virgil has to take sleeping pills to be able to) and basically live the same lifestyle. So why is Logan so different? He sits on the sofa next to me.

"Logan? Are you okay?"
"Yes, I am uninjured and I haven't found any other issues in my health"
"I mean how are you feeling?"
"I'm slightly cold, I should get a blanket"
"No need, share mine"
"If you are sure"

Logan cuddles closer to me as Roman and Virgil enter. They sit down and me and Logan are pushed up against each other in the centre of the sofa. I smile and put my head on his shoulder, hoping to warm him up as I wrap my arms around him. He smiles at me and settles back into the sofa, making my head fall onto his chest. I listen for his heartbeat, curious about how this was making him feel. I don't hear anything but I'm not worried, until my hand finds his wrist and I press two fingers to where his pulse should be.

Nothing. I place a hand on his chest, trying to feel a heartbeat and getting more nervous by the second. I rest my hand there, pressing slightly. Again, I feel nothing under my palm. I want to move away, but the movement might scare Virgil or seem really sudden. I look up and Logan's eyes flicker down. I wonder if my panic shows in my eyes.

"Logan?"
"Yes Patton?"
"I can't feel your heart, or your pulse"
"Well, I guess you must know at some point... I have no heart."
"No, you have to, everyone does"
"I do not, my heart is not in my body anywhere because I do not have one"
"What!?" Roman and Virgil yell at the same time, standing up and setting themselves away from us.

"I have no heart"
"We heard, how?"
"I am logic, the idea of being cold, analytical and heartless is quite literal for me. It is why I am always slightly cold to the touch. I am quite literally cold and heartless"
"So... we all have hearts and you don't."
"Can you feel a heartbeat?"
"Yes"
"Then you have a heart. Why is it so hard to believe when Virgil and Patton gain a lot more energy when Thomas gets anxious. Virgil has more control and Patton is Thomas's heart, his heart is racing so Patton has a burst of energy."
"That does make sense"
"See, it is not so extraordinary that I have no heart."
"Next question, how are you alive?"
"I, myself, do not know, it may be that my blood cells pass oxygen and carbon dioxide to one another and create sort of 'bus routes' throughout my body, if you will."
"Okay... " Roman and Virgil sit back down and we continue watching the movie, it may be strange but I love all of my kiddos, heart or not.
