Trick or Treat - Volume 1, Part 2

Virgil POV:

It was early morning, sometime around 2 am, when I decided to pull my next trick. This time, I had a specific target: Princey

When I did my first trick, he declared war, and ever since he has been trying to trick me. Each measly attempt just gives me another reason to laugh at him.

It has been 10 days since I did the trick. The first week after, Patton, Logan, and Roman were incredibly jumpy. They were constantly checking over their shoulders, making sure that there wasn't something waiting there to surprise them.

When they realized that there was nothing there, they started to let their guard down, and that was their mistake.

Them letting their guard down allowed for me to get supplies for my next trick.

I crept out of bed and walked over to my closet. I opened the wide doors and grabbed the first thing I would need; I giant mirror that I had bought at a thrift store.

I snuck out of my room with the mirror tucked under my arm. Sure it looked heavy, but it was surprisingly light, which meant I could easily carry it past the doors of the other sleeping sides.

Once I was out of the hall, I let out a breath I didn't realize I had been holding and started to walk faster, not wanting to waste time.

Getting to the room I wanted, I slowly opened the door and checked my surroundings to make sure no one would see me go in.

Once I decided the coast was clear, I walked in and shut the door behind me.

I turned around and took in my surroundings.

In front of me was a large clearing surrounded by a dense forest. In the distance, I could hear a stream flowing over some rocks. All around me was the sound of the wind rushing through the bare branches of the trees, creating a symphony fit for Halloween.

I was in the one place where anything you wanted to happen could happen; the Imagination

I stood in the clearing for a while, the brisk temperature making me feel even more awake.

After a while, I remembered that I had a reason for coming here. I set the mirror down in the grass and went to look for a large rock or branch.

I searched the forest for about 10 minutes before I remembered that I can just wish for stuff to appear. I did just that, and a medium-sized branch appeared next to the mirror.

I walked over and picked up the branch, tossing it between my hands to get a feel for its weight. I had already glued the mirror to the back of the frame so the pieces would stay in place. Now all I have to do is break it.

I propped the mirror up against one of the trees on the edge of the clearing and swung the branch at it, hearing a satisfying shatter.

Setting the branch down, I looked at the mirror, which was now in multiple pieces. Because of the glue, all the pieces had stayed in place as I had hoped.

I picked the mirror up, satisfied with the work I had done.

I walked back to the door and opened it slowly, peaking my head out to make sure no one was awake.

When I felt safe, I quickly walked back to my room.

In my room, I walked back to my closet and grabbed the bag that was sitting in the bottom.

Leaving my room once again, I walked back down the hall, except this time I stopped outside of Princey's room.

I couldn't hear anything from inside, which was a very good thing.

Placing my hand on the doorknob, I slowly turned it, praying that it wouldn't click.

Almost there... almost there... and...

*Click*

"Goddamnit!" I whispered under my breath, holding completely still for a few seconds.

I listened in the silence for even the slightest sign of Princey being awake.

The dark felt like a blanket, smothering all sounds. This worked to my advantage when I slowly opened Princey's door, making sure it didn't creak.

Once the door was open enough to walk through, I slipped in, not bothering to shut the door.

I looked over at Princey, who was holding a unicorn plush and looked to be sucking his thumb.

"Always such a baby," I chuckled under my breath.

I turned my attention back to the objects I had in my hand. Walking over to Princey's dresser, I propped the mirror up against the shelves and put the bag next to it.

The very first thing I did was take down his mirror, replacing it with the one I had broken.

I reached into my bag and took out a spray bottle of fake blood. I shook it like the package instructed and took off the cap.

Aiming the bottle at the mirror, I sprayed the red liquid on the mirror until it was mostly covered.

I put the bottle away and took out a special decoration I had made just for Princey.

It consisted of a tiny skeleton wearing a crown wrapped in enough cobwebs that it could be hung from the ceiling upside down.

Instead of hanging it from the ceiling I had decided to hang it from the corner of the mirror. At least, I tried to, but I lost my footing and almost fell off of the shelf I was standing on.

As soon as I regained my balance I froze, turning to look at Princey. I watched to see if that woke him up, not wanting to be caught.

Princey stirred and rolled over, but he didn't wake up. I swear that man would sleep through the end of the world.

I waited a little longer before I tried again. This second try I was able to successfully put the decoration on the mirror without falling.

As soon as I got down from the shelf I grabbed Princey's good mirror and the bag of stuff I had brought in and got out of his room as fast as I could, shutting the door behind me silently.

I got back to my room and glanced at the clock, which told me that it was almost 4.

Perfect. Plenty of time for me to perfect my makeup.

~~~~Time Skip~~~~
Roman POV:
I was gently woken up by my alarm at exactly 7:25 with the song Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo from Cinderella.
I sat up and stretched, used to the cobwebs Virgil had placed in my room a while ago.
I rushed into my bathroom and quickly showered and got dressed.
When I left my bathroom to do my hair, I froze when I saw the sight in front of me, a hand covering my mouth which was hanging open.
There was a bundle of cobwebs hanging in front of my mirror.
"How rude!!" I scoffed, walking up to move the cobwebs.
When I got closer I saw that there was a skeleton inside the cobwebs.
"Oh me, oh my!" I said, knowing that it was Virgil who placed that there. "How unpleasant, but you will have to try harder if you want to truly frighten me."
I moved the skeleton bundle to the side, and what I saw made me scream at the top of my lungs, even louder than when Virgil popped up when we were in his room.
Patton rushed in seconds later, a frying pan in hand.
"What is it kiddo??" he asked, nervously looking around the room.
"Th-th-th-th-" I stammered, unable to speak properly.
"What's wrong Roman?" Patton asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"THE MIRROR, MY MIRROR, IS BROKEN AND COVERED IN BLOOD!!!!!!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO MY HAIR?!?!?!?!?! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE MYSELF OH SO DASHINGLY HANDSOM?!?!?!?!?!"
I stopped yelling to catch my breath and heard Patton giggle beside me.
"HOW DARE YOU LAUGH AT MY MISFORTUNE!!" I said, turning to him. "THIS IS A DASTARDLY DEED THAT HAS BEEN DONE, AND IT SHALL NOT GO WITHOUT RETALIATION!!!"
"And how do you expect to do that, Princey, when you're up against the King of Halloween?"
 I turned and saw Virgil casually leaning against the frame of my door, make up even darker than the first time he tricked us and a slight smirk on his face. He was clearly enjoying my anguish.
"YOU," I said darkly. "It was YOU that did this ghastly deed. You shall pay for this."
"And why's that?" Virgil asked, standing up and taking a step towards me. "Is it just because you can't stand knowing that your poor little ego was bruised by me? Is that it?"
"HOW DARE YOU" I shouted, indignant that he would suggest such a thing.
"Normally I wouldn't," Virgil said slowly, "but a lot of things change when it's Halloween..."
And with that Virgil swept out of the room, shutting of the lights, which let Patton and I see that the paint and skeleton glowed in the dark.
A/N:
Hey guy, gals, and non-binary palls! I'm sorry if this is really crappy. I was kinda rushed in writing this because I felt like I had to get another Trick or Treat chapter out and I hadn't started it yet. Feel free to point out any errors or mistakes that I can fix!!
It's getting closer to Halloween and I'm so excited because my best friend and I have planned out our costumes and I can't wait to make them!!! This is the first time I've actually planned a costume with someone else, so I'm really looking forward to that.
Comment any ideas for future Trick or Treat chapters or regular requests and I'll start working on them as soon as I can.
Until next time,
Take it easy guys, gals, and non-binary pals!
