Hanahaki part 2
CHARACTER DEATH!!!!
Proceed with caution.
-Virgil's Pov-
"Do you know about hanahaki, Virgil?"
"Uh no."
"Well nevermind then."
"No. I'm going to see Logan."
"Ah well. I'm almost dead anyway. Best to be surrounded by friends than all alone in my dying days."
Virgil slammed open Logan door in one breathless motion.
"Logan!" I screamed.
"What is it?" Logan was clearly annoyed. Roman is dying though. He's dying.
"*crying*" Tears fall down my face as I realize that Roman is actually dying. And we could have helped him if only he would have let us.
"Hey hey, it's alright Virgil. Why are you crying?"
"Cause Roman is dying." (This is no time for a rhyme.)
"W-what?" Logan asked confused.
"I don't know either. He just said something about blood and hanahaki. He asked me if I knew about hanahaki. But I don't and that's why I'm here."
"Oh hanahaki. Welp not my forte. More Patton's thing if I'm being honest. But you said something about blood?"
"Y-yeah and he said he was going to die in a week or less."
"How did he withhold the blood for that long? I'm going to have to ask him. Go and talk to Patton about it while I treat Roman's blood."
"Mm'kay" Virgil forced out as his lips were trembling.
-Thomas's Pov-
Why do I feel so weird? I have the most brutal headache. As if my head is spewing blood. And I feel really really sad. Also logical for some unknown reason.
-Roman's Pov-
I hear a soft knock on my door.
"Hello Roman. May I come in?"
"Yes Logan. The door is unlocked."
I looked around my room to make sure that no flower petals were in sight. I had also cleaned up the blood since Virgil's visit.
I could see a confused look etched into Logan's face. "Virgil said you were dying." He said in disbelief.
At the mention of the name 'Virgil', I coughed violently and 5 of those damn chrysanthemum's fully coated in blood fell slowly to the floor. I should have never fallen in love. This is what love does to you. I can always reject love and build up thomas's walls. Then this will never happen again. To either of us.
"You can't listen to the voices. Don't give up hope. Fight it to the end. Don't let yourself give up all love." Logan comforted.
Yeah he's right. I'll fight it to the end. I won't give up the love.
"L-logan... my death wish is that Virgil will take my place as the creative side. I just know he will do well. Don't let him get too depressed on me will you." I faintly croak out.
I'm actually dying. Goodbye world. Let Virgil excel at my job. Please.
As the vines burst through my lungs I hear a scream and then everything goes dark. I'm dead.
-Virgil's Pov-
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo." I scream breaking off at the end into mumbling and incoherent sobbing noises.
"My life is over." I simply say.
"No, his life is over. He wouldn't want you to die because he died." Logan whispered.
"I wasn't there by his side. I could have helped him." I sobbed. The tears rushing down my face were cold like the river in the field where me and Roman watched the chrysanthemum's blowing in the breeze. I spotted chrysanthemum petals stuffed under his bed. He collected all these chrysanthemum's for me. Now I felt worse.
"You couldn't have. He had already decided that he was gonna let it kill him. There was nothing you could have done."
For once Logan was actually being more helpful than Patton could have been. Patton sensed this and kept his mouth shut.
"He did have a dying wish though." Logan continued.
"What is it?" I asked as I looked up at him from the place I had fallen on the floor.
"For you to take his place."
"Me?"
"Yes you, and he asked me to make sure you don't get too depressed."
"Oh. Did he say why he chose me?"
"He said 'I just know he will do well.' And-" Logan was stopped by a look from Patton that clearly said 'It's too early'.
Too early for what? Why would Roman want me to be the creative side? What do Patton and Logan know that I don't? I guess the only thing to do is fulfill Roman's request and become the new creative side. I also can't get too depressed about his death. Boy that'll be hard.
As I put on Roman's prince suit, I felt a surge of confidence and could practically touch all of the ideas blooming inside my head. I watched the room turn a mixture of purple and gold. The flowers and petals blew out the window and I saw the blood coating the bigger flowers. All of Roman's stuff flew down the hall and into the closet. Setting themselves neatly on the shelves, the door closed.
And Roman was gone. All of him was gone.
