Everything hurts. And yet, he felt numb.

He felt numb. And that terrified Remus more than anything in the world ever could. It meant there was too much pain. It meant Patton was right.

Remus wept as the needle poked into his eyelid, gently pulling the thread through and into his skin below. Patton cursed lightly at Remus as blood mixed with tears down the side's cheeks. He didn't stop his work though, continuing to sew Remus's eyes closed. Remus wanted so desperately to yell out, to fight, to beg for someone to help. But his lips were already sewn shut, blood dribbling down his chin from the small but deep punctures.

Patton whispered to Remus. "This is for your own good, remember? You need to be perfect, you need to be fixed. You're broken, dearest. I'm just fixing you."

Remus was forced to swallow his own vomit as Patton pressed a firm kiss to his lips. He whimpered, and despite the disgust he felt, leaned into Patton's embrace. He could only see darkness, and could barely feel when something hot pressed onto his eye. Hot glue. He recognized the hot pain, it was Patton's favorite thing to use on him.

A whimper rumbled in his throat, and tears seeped past the thread and what Remus could only assume to be buttons. It hurt. The pain was back and now he wanted that numbness again. He didn't want pain. He just wanted it to stop, wanted all of it to just end.

Patton tsked. "Remus love, stop pretending it hurts," he hummed, running a finger under Remus's eye and wiping away the bloodied tears. "You're a side! I know you can't feel it!"

He really, really wished that were true.

The others raised their brows at Remus, skepticism and annoyance ever present on their faces. Remus growled at himself in frustration, tugging at his hair. He couldn't speak- it hurt to talk, felt as if his vocal cords had been torn to shreds with the dullest of nails.

They had been.

"Remus, Patton would never hurt anyone. Least of all you! He loves you, remember? And I do believe he's changed you for the better."

The words stung, not as badly as Patton's damned electric chair, but they still stung. Remus huffed lightly, looking to everyone else in the room. They all muttered their agreements, and suddenly arms wrapped around him tightly and he was pulled into a tight embrace. It felt as if a constrictor was trying to pop every bone in his body.

"So sorry about Remus kiddos! He hasn't been feeling well and with Dee ducked out it's given him free will to lie all he wants. I'll just go to our room until he feels better! Ain't that right honey?"

Remus swallowed thickly, wincing at the pain, and he couldn't try to fight against the pull from Patton down to the moral side's room even if he wanted.
